Politics / Re: NNPC To Be Divided Into Five Companies by AbdulWasiu(m): 8:31pm On Sep 01, 2007
This is a good development if you ask me.

Let every section act independently, perhaps the corporation is presently too complex to manage.

Yar'adua(GMD) will not have to oversee all Subsidiaries but a more smaller unit.

And I see the refineries being privatised soon, the powers of PENGASSAN and NUPENG combined is no more.

I believe things will work better now within the corporation, for the betterment of the entire Nigerians.

We'll be there someday, insha Allah.
Computers / Re: Hibernate Or Turn Off? by AbdulWasiu(m): 7:06pm On Aug 31, 2007
Talking about Hibernation, I just started using it couple of days back and it's really been wonderful.
Saves me a lot of time cos I usually shut down my Lappie whenever I'm done working on it.

But I do encounter problems sometime while restarting, my system always finds it difficult to restart until
I accept deleting Restoration programs and re-boot normally. What could be responsible for this?

Also, my Norton Antivirus has expired and I'm almost always online, I know this is not healthy for my system.
To upgrade automatically, I was requested to pay certain amount in dollars. Is there any short cut to this or I just have
to pay up?

Gurus in the house, please educate me.

Thx y'all.

Politics / Naira Re-Denomination: Suspended! by AbdulWasiu(m): 4:38pm On Aug 24, 2007
Just heard it in the news(AIT) that Naira Redenomination has been suspended!

Guess Yar'adua has more pressing issues to contend with.

Lets keep our fingers crossed to await another "brilliant" agenda of the CBN.

Business / Re: Bad Experiences You've Had With Your Banks? by AbdulWasiu(m): 9:46pm On Jun 18, 2007
Intercontinental BanK, A terrible bank indeed!
I have an account with this bank.
Ridiculous amout being deducted from my account on a regular basis.
I have been double debited with my ATM at one of their branches in PH for about one week now,
nothin has been done about it, despite makin me write a lettter.
My resolution? Clear my cash out as soon as d account is credited!
Let them do whateva with d N1000 remaining.
Only God can liberate us from our fellow beings!
Terrible indeed.
Business / Re: How Can I Make One Million Naira Per Year? by AbdulWasiu(m): 8:28pm On Jun 18, 2007
@enaose

I really like ur advice.

The problem many of us face is the cahallenges of getting a good broker, who wlouldn't request for a minimum of N5million!

Not all of us could possibly afford that much, and we are interested in trading stocks.

I resolved into buying IPO's instead.

It will be most appreciated if u (or anybody in d house) could recommend some brokers that can accept less than N500K.

Keep up d good work!!
Politics / Re: Mujahid Dokubo-asari: Freed! by AbdulWasiu(m): 12:42am On Jun 15, 2007

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Which Way Nlng? by AbdulWasiu(m): 6:41pm On Apr 23, 2007
In as much as I'm not disputin d possibility that NLNG has started inviting people for d interview, I am quite sure some of us should have received ours by now. This is a nationwide issue and nairaland is a nationwide forum, d anxiety is keeping some of us at d edge. I'll advice we await a first hand informant, to be really sure.My opinion anyway wink wink

Anyhow, wish every potential NLNG staff all d best.

Keep hope alive!!

Hey guyz,

I want 2 say congrats to all the invitees for the 2nd test.
I believe the fixtures' independent of ones course of study,so most probably it's not gonna be a
profession-related kind of test.
I guess we'll wait for those writing on Monday-26th to update us.
Anyway,wish everybody d very best.

Regards.

Guess that should be our concern right now.
Wish all Nairalanders success.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Lng Recriutment by AbdulWasiu(m): 2:30pm On Jan 12, 2007
Guys,relax.
I believe those being called failed to include their states of origin in their applications.
That's indeed a sure indication that shortlisting has commenced.
Keep your fingers crossed and pray to be invited for the test.
Wish y'all the best.

15th of when?
Could you shed more light?

Thanks.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Need An Advice by AbdulWasiu(m): 8:09pm On Dec 15, 2006
I believe this is simple.
Take the job and go for the test as well.
All you need do is find a reasonable excuse for your absence, i.e if the test is on week day, which I doubt.

Gd luck.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Nnpc Abuja Interview: Share Your View by AbdulWasiu(m): 9:35pm On Dec 10, 2006
I was interviewed by a panel of five: four men and a woman.Cool people though.
On the same 7th, my panel was characterised by spending so much time (average of 10min) per candidate.
Had to wait till around 6pm before being interviewed.
Asked about gas flaring, the subsidiaries, core values, and little technical questions on my discipline.
I believe God is in control.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: I Have Been Invited For Mearsk Test! by AbdulWasiu(m): 9:16pm On Dec 10, 2006
Congrats guyz.
You might find this info useful. I wrote the test last year(for Graduate Trainee).
It was 100 questions in 20min. Before the test, we were given a form (pure psychology) to fill.
My guy,be as careful and as reasonable as possible in filling that form!
I later learnt that form we filled was the only thing used in assesing us.
I stand to be corrected.
All d best.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Ineed A Well Paying Job by AbdulWasiu(m): 8:51pm On Dec 10, 2006
Hello mekushi,

I must say almost everybody here needs a well paying job.Nevertheles, you have a better chance bearing in mind your
2-1. Also,I'll like to advice you that you stress whatever additional skills (other than B.Eng/B.Tech) you possess in your CV. One thing is certain, you'll definitely get a job-how soon? I don't know. Elect Engrg is quite marketable these days, but additional skills/certification will give you the needed edge.
All the best pal.
