Limaoscar: You are either a lunatic (and I'm according you some respect here) or less than a herbivorous animal. U don't deserve to be addressed as human. What has GEJ got to do with the chaos plotted and orchestrated by your Vampire Buhari and the rest of your extended family members vowing to make Nigeria un-governable and un-inhabitable for us all?..... Mschewwww!!!
don't accuse Buhari of plotting anything bcs u don't have any evidence against him.

we are all politicizing this act of terrorism, the issue is not North agianst Jonathan or south, the issue is some pretarded people with ideology of 6th century and want ti force it on all of us. thesame way AL-QAEDA, ISS, TALBAN etc, we need stop the ethnicity and tackle the issue at hand. Terrorism in Nigeria will affect the educated people in the North if allowed to continue

all the stake holders need to be blame, which are federal gov't, state gov't, hulamas in the North, almajiri systems, piverty cause by leaders since independent, extreme teachings etc.

extremism is a big war to tight dont just expect him to end it over night, go and ask Algeria, kenya, pakistan, Indonesia etc.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's Non Oil Export Increases Tenfold In 2yrs From $276m To $3.72billion by abdulwastecx(m): 11:06pm On Jul 26, 2014
ujoinme: poor institution of state, corruption and high recurrent expenditures did not emanate from this government, but GEJ is doing his best to address this problems in the face of strong opposition to his policies and insecurity that is directing his efforts away from this areas.

In the Area of strong institutions: You would agree that this government has come up with the best policies in Agriculture, Industrialization, Aviation, commerce/trade etc.than any Nigerian Administration in recent times.
The ministry of finance and economic planning you already agree is doing great.
The Military is receiving training and equipment upgrade in a scale that has not happened in recent times in Nigerian history, Our Navy now has seaworthy ships with offshore/high-sea capabilities for the first time in many years, the army and air force are getting 40 helicopters at once and other heavy equipment, our soldiers fighting in the front-lines are being paid allowances in advance for their services: the only military in the world that does it.
Our Elections are more credible as ballot stuffing, outright snatching and wanton killings on election day is disappearing, ie INEC is getting stronger and better at service delivery and has more credible people at its helms.

Privatization of government assets are being handled in a more transparent manner than before, within the privatization sector many regulatory agencies are being setup to regulate those industries.
My friend you would agree that this administration has done a lot if not more than any administration has done to strength govt institutions in Nigeria.
On corruption: you would agree that most of the issues surrounding the corruption of this administration has been media sensationalism the $40b that became $12bn and $10b and finally reviewed to $20b was the figment of imagination of Sanusi Lamido and the opposition. the senate and the international accounting firm that waded in to ascertain the veracity of his claim has since declared that no such amount is missing.
That is not to say that Nigeria is not faced with corruption, but corruption has been institutionalized in many aspects of our nation hood and it will take a long time to stamp it out, it starts by having an accountable govt. at the head and GEJs administration has been more accountable than most of his predecessors.
And Finally, on High recurrent expenditure I agree with you here, but we cannot hold it against this president because he wasn't responsible for the high cost of government, but you would agree that institution responsible for making laws that are capable of changing the high cost of government ie the Senate, are not going to make any laws that will seek to cut down their own expense, because they are the biggest beneficiary of government pork.
GEJ in his wisdom set up the National constitutional conference that would have been an avenue to pass resolution that would have change the fiscal composition of the nation, but instead of Nigerians welcoming such moves there has been a hugh campaign to scuttle its success, and the members of the conference have not themselves help matters, but instead of passing such tough resolution on devolution of powers that would have had immense impact on the fiscal composition of the Nation they choose to pass the buck and opt for trivialities like state creation that will compound Nigeria's problems especially in this regard.

I would rest my case by stating that GEJ is the best president that Nigeria Has ever had, If not for anything by captaining Nigeria in its metamorphosis into the biggest economy in Africa, and charting a new course in diversifying our economy before our very eyes -30 auto manufacture and agriculture on my mind! No one can fault him on that regards. And this is the reason that Nigeria is the #1 destination for Foreign direct investment in Africa. He has done all this in the face of insecurity and stiff political opposition.
Care to ponder where Nigeria would be if we all cooperated with this good president? Hopefully, we will all wise up and give him full support for his second term, so he will take us to our transformational destiny as a country.
Your comment was very informative and sincere. I agree with most of the point u raised but still believe more still need to be done.
Car TalkRe: Toyota, Kia Okay Nigeria’s Assembly Plants by abdulwastecx(m): 6:21pm On Jul 26, 2014
niceeric: Quit d Economics mumbo jumbo MR,we all know those are all theory and won't manifest on their own.

Multiplier effect, job creation, pressure on d naira against other foreign currencies won't mean a thing if d FG don't put things in order in d country first before making these giant strides....Aren't Indians job creators here in NigeriahuhHow come they make their employees slaves ryt in their fatherland and do so with impunity cos d do called working FG gets windfalls in form of bribes from them....so is dat job creation??.....if d cars are not affordable by d populace then we should all be able to say ' to hell with their assembly plants and GEJ pls don't increase import duty on our tokunbo cars cos we are happy with them'....
cos volkswagen won't av meant people's car if it wasn't made affordable by d people....

And how would d Naira be allowed to 'grow' against other currencies if d cars don't get exportedhuh.....i'll rule out. exports outside Africa cos who would want an expensive made in Nigeria Toyota camry in the United States??....so we're left with export to African countries so dat brings me back to d pricing....if Nigerians won't be able to afford a made in Nigeria car, would it then be affordable to a Kenyan?...or a Sierra Leonean or even a Benenois who has better alternative of buying vehicles at cheaper prices ryt at his own country's port??

Koko is dat, if d cars won't be affordable just like Dstv, all network providers, services arent affordable by d common Nigerian cos d same FG demands a whole lot in terms of cash/bribes from then and if d plants would also turn Nigerians to slaves and mere contract workers as almost all establishments by foreign 'investors' do(with d FG's approval cos of monetary gains), then I and all rightly thinking Nigerians can say hell with the factories and wish and pray your GEJ gets wise and leave d import duty on tokunbo vehicles as it is and not compound our already enormous problems.
learn first before commenting. since 2012 Kenya govt increase the tariff on imported vehicle to encourage the local car industry, this force many multi nation car brand from south korea, china and japan to set assembly plant in kenya.

u cannot developed ur manufacturing industries by turning your country into a dumping ground for developed countries waste ( called "Tokunbo"wink. the automobile bill is the best and we need to extend thesame to other goods like the Chinese furniture and electronics, etc. Me must learn how to produce our own product ( especially consumer goods) rather than importing sub standard goods from China ( a message to ibo importers)

koboko69: You dey mind these vodoo economist. All this growth be like music....we dey hear am, but we nor dey see am Thanks to PDP entertainments!
I am not a Jonathan supporter but his economic teams lead by finance minister are fantastic. he has done well on so many front especially in atteacting foreign investment, increase no oil export and the privatization of the power industry.

the major area is lacking is in the area of massive corruption, poor institutions of state, very high recurrent expenditure ( about 74% ) of national budget. I blame the legislative arms of gov't for most of these problem though.

another issue we need to look at is the size of Nigeria budget. a budget of 27billion us dollars for 175millions people is too small. Govt need to devoled a robust task system so that more money can be available to diversify gov't earning from oil export
PoliticsRe: SULTAN TO BOKO HARAM ; You Can’t Bomb Your Way To Paradise. by abdulwastecx(m): 4:59pm On Jul 26, 2014
PhockPhockMan: SATAN of Sokoto , Please shut up your mouth. When your boys was bombing Christians and Southern target areas like churches and motor parks. Instead of criticising them, you advise them not to kill Muslims. Now that you have realised that you may be the next target hence the change of talk
the sultan is right and you are wrong.
stop politicizing bokoharram, it is an extremism group that we must all join hand to fight.

million of muslim are peace loving people and the act few should not be used to generalized others.

stop looking at things using your ethnic/religious bias perspective.

some other thing I want the sultan to do is to promote the following in the North.
1. education and the abolishment of almajiri system of enslaving the children of " talakawa " in the region.
2. scrutinazation of hulamas promoting extremism and band such teaching
3.enciuragement of Northern state govt to create job through Agriculture, light manufacturing and solid mineral exploiration
4 promote tolerance among all the residence of North and all citizen of Nigeria.

As a respected leader of Nigeria muslim community, I know all these are within your reach your excellence

EkoIle1: Maybe the price of Garri, land, labor, building materials, naira to dollar is still the same like over 30 years ago when Jakande was the governor.

The crazy and insane things I read on NL sometimes makes me cringe and feel sorry for this country and the unintelligent so called leaders of tomorrow....
sir, I dont really know what you are trting to say.
first, I am not an economists but know about inflation and know that fiscal policy is a responsibility of the federal gov't, even in America price of food, land, labour and fuel 34year's ago is not thesame now.

high rise building can be more economical in city like lagos where the population density is very high and where cost of land is very high, so project like this is needed to house the large population of lagos.

forpeace: My brother *rebranded*, i love Ribadu. . .but i can assure you that with the kind of money lagos generates monthly and the kind of brilliant minds we have resident here in lagos, a 16 yr old a grade student can govern lagos. . Rebranded, are you saying with over 20billion naira monthly you cant govern a state effectively? if you no fit then you need to rethink your life.
convert ur 20billion naira into dollar and campare it with the money newyork city spend on security a month.

Our problem is we lack knowledge of what is happening and we always criticized based on sentiment

Lagos is a highly populated state with serious infrastructural callenges, u need alot of money to solve this problem, since the state gov't have limited resource they resorts to encouraging private investors.

Fashola is the best governer ever in any part of Nigeria, infact he is the best administrators we have ever had in Nigeria

PoliticsRe: “i’ve Not Forgiven Obasanjo.. Will Not Forget What IBB Did To Me…” – Buhari by abdulwastecx(m): 11:41pm On Jul 24, 2014
ballabriggs: Absolute trash. The military offers people a way out of poverty. By joining the military, you have an opportunity to earn and at the same time receive standard education.

For example, how many people can afford to pay for a flight school? But with the military, they get it for free in addition to being trained in management as an officer.
you are talking out of point.
The question how does encouraging people from affluent Northern family joining the military benefit the average Northern population with no education and job.

many Northern elit are from the rulling family bcs they encourage their children to join tje military while encouraging the poor masses to send their children to ALMAJIRI schools, this now create a scenario where people can easily be used for some few selfish Northern political interest.

You developed a country by providing affordable and quality technical education for the population

Goldenboy007: Your masters steal money and come back under one cock and bull foreign company name to embark on white elephant projects ! When we had true leaders in Lagos like Jakande and co we had low cost housing Estates built all around Lagos in which your peasant fathers and grandfathers were beneficiaries when they first arrived in Lagos! Tell me something, which of your kins can afford any of the structures you have shown us now? Lie make I woz you slap! - sorry I am not insulting you o - the truth be told ! You sold Lagosian into slavery under draconian contracts in the name of private investments and when you guys will pack your political bags and go Lagosians would have inherited debts their next 2 generations can't pay off! !! You are throwing the word "poor" all around, are you rich? Please don't allow me to transfer my aggression on your person o!
When you come to a public forum, keep an open mind and argue with critics intelligently, don't waive other peoples opinion away as if you are god of wisdom! Lagos citizens are more of stakeholders than you guys will ever be and they have a right to have a say in how you desecrate their lands with stolen money!
Don't mistake me for a PDP campaigner o, I love Fashola o but don't come here and sell us duds!
we operate a capitalist economy, if any legitimates investor comes in with money and decide to invest as a govt u can't stop them, rather u support them and attracts more to your state, irrespective of where they get their money from.

if you must create job, wealth creation, poverty reduction and technology transfer then u need more private investment. countries in East Asian ( south Korea, taiwa and singapore) were able to transform in a major industrial nation by opening up their country for both domest and foreign investors

Jankode's era was in the 80s, over the year the population of Lagos has exploded, in other to keep up with the population you need high rise building for both residential and commercial activities, this project is what is needed in lagos

finally, Lagos is not a place for peasant farmers, to be a Lagos resident you must have the dynamism of first world society i.e. have basic education, job, be ready to pay tax and always aim very high

you know that this is a private real estate development and this is a conceptual level right? the company coming up with this project own you nothing they can out those information forward if they like.

what most you guys dont know is that the hardest part of building construction is the design stage

[quote author=debulle]So on point, the money they use in doing sandfilling of the beaches in Lagos would hv gone a long way in building low income estates outside the islands. They only think of how and where it will benefit them. Not minding all this noise of development in Lagos State some towns and villages are yet to get electricity, places that govt collect all sorts of tax hv no motorable roads and other social amenities.Let's tell ourselves the truth which new roads hv been built in this new democracy but tax and revenue continues to increase.Expensive Executive flats continues to spring up in Ikoyi area.40% or more of island properties is own by ......is this democracy? Its only change that is constant,we yearn for postive

eko atlantic city is a private development funded exclusively by private company,

You people need to understand what PPP means ( private public partnerships), in most of these project govt only provide the land or some incentive while the private people provide the facilities.

This is a real estate project and the funding is 100% private, so why winning about govt negleting rural areas.

Lagos state govt has limited resource and cannot provide infrastructure for all, so it is gradual process all those rural areas in Lagos will still get some of the infrastructure they need.

Stop winning about the people that control the economy, reposition yourself and take part in wealth creation. even in USA the world largest economy only 10% of her citizen earn 100k ( 15million naira) and above in a year. so to be rich you need to be positive and creative

alienware: Instead of them to build a large industrial base to create jobs and export to neighbouring African countries, they are embarking on a white elephant project which the poor masses can't afford.
if u know nothing about real estate, economy and private development, u need to shot up.

this is a big project and it is nice to see a large building structure with advance material and technology been constructed in lagos, it shows that enterprenuers have confident in the city.

industrial estate is good but this guys are into real estate development, so take ur complaint to ur sate and federal govt.

there we alway be poor people around, Nigeria is a capitalist society, u either work hard to get the neccesary skill to join the winning team (IN THIS CASE RISING MIDDLE CLASS) or remain poor and bitter forever.
