Is anyone here going to Fanshawe College and has paid his or her tuition fee deposit? Pls I have a question.
Someone paid my tuition fee deposit some months ago through his Canadian bank account, how can I generate the tuition fee deposit receipt/evidence of payment? I have gone to my student portal (Webadvisor) I didn't find the receipt or statement of account. I need this receipt for Study permit application. How can I get the receipt pls? It's very very urgent!
Send a mail to the school to request the receipt.

For the sake of emphasis: I never requested a dime from anyone, both on this platform or anywhere. I dare/challenge anyone who I may have requested money from (either here or anywhere) for whatever reason to come out to say such.
In the absence of none, and I'm sure there can never be, then you lot should close your mouths and move on to another topic.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. In PoTUS' voice.

It's funny how many of you guys behave. I had written my response myself and not with AI. Even if I had used AI, how's that an issue. I stated a claim, you all refuted it because you said I had put my phone number, then I deleted the entire thing.
Now, you're still singing scammer? Scammer on what exactly? After I deleted the same post? Are you joking ?

You posted your number because you hardly visit Nairaland YET only today you almost lived on Nairaland.

I have removed my WhatsApp contact and revised the entire post. I only included it initially because I’m not very active on Nairaland, and I wanted anyone who needed guidance to be able to reach me easily.

However, due to the backlash I received, I have decided to take down the write-up and simply wish everyone the best in their applications. My intentions were genuine—I truly wanted to help, and at no point did I request any fee. I even included a disclaimer to make that clear.

Omo, God abeg ooo.

In the end, we will all be alright.
And you had to use an AI to write this?

Hahahahahahah Almost 10 years on this app, and not a single record of anyone calling me a scammer.............

I have interacted with all kinds of people here and helped without collecting a dime. I don’t even ask for money...I barely have the time. I just drop comments and share information.

Like I said, I am not the reason your father can’t afford your school fees or why your visa keeps getting rejected because of you can not afford the fees. I understand you’re frustrated, but making false accusations won’t help your situation.

And again, if I have ever scammed anyone, go ahead and bring the receipts. This is the time to show them I am waiting.
Chibumalasia:
That's why am making sure you cannot scam anybody. You barely have time but you are here 24/7 looking for somebody to scam. The way you are desperate you have to be using Gemini AI to answer question so that your victims can fall for your trap. Look for better hustle. This your format have cast

I applied for my study permit alongside my spouse’s open work permit on 5th April 2026. Since Monday, 6th April was a public holiday, I scheduled my biometrics for Tuesday, 7th April, while my spouse completed hers on 9th April 2026.

Surprisingly, we both received approval for our visa applications on that same 9th April 2026 at about 3:55 P, while my spouse’s biometrics appointment was scheduled for 1:00 PM that very day in Lagos.

For context, I had previously handled my UK student visa application for my master’s degree myself, and it was also approved.

So why am I sharing this?

If you need guidance or have questions that haven’t been answered, feel free to drop them here. Others may also benefit, and I’ll do my best to guide you based on my experience.

Getting approval within three working days after submission was honestly unbelievable—I didn’t see it coming.

You may want to reach out to me on +2348172665795. Whatsapp only

Disclaimer: I am not an immigration officer. I can only offer guidance based on my personal experience applying for my study permit and my spouse’s open work permit.

The issue with my NIN was that my Dad registered my NIN with is phone number when still a minor. When applied for the PCC on POSSAP Portal, it will brings out my name with my dad phone number. I have carried out update on my phone number on NIN, but still not updated on POSSAP Portal almost 2 weeks.
I have tried going ahead with dad phone number and email, but the verification brings out my Dad name and not my name. Technically, the PCC is like for my dad.

Any solutions from my leaders
Go to NIN office and update your information

2k CAD is not enough.

You can't do the bare minimum and expect to get a favorable feedback.

Remember you are competing for limited study permit approvals with applicants from all over the world.

If the school didn't tell you explicitly not to pay more than 2k CAD, my advise is always that you endeavor to pay the full tuition fee for the first year.

It addresses the concern of the visa officer that, you may not have access to the funds from your sponsor's POF when needed.

It also goes a long way to demonstrate extra commitment.

All the best.
1. The school said the full tuition for one year can only be determined after course registration and course registration starts July.
2. The applicant is a self sponsor. All the funds is in his account and he has access to it at any given time.

Your opinion only works if it's a third party that is sponsoring it.

You typically cannot pay the full one-year tuition upfront. Schools usually require you to pay a portion of the fees as an acceptance deposit...often around 15% of first year fee its sometimes part of the admission condition .

This is usually part of the conditions outlined in your admission offer. From my experience and from what others have shared, this is the standard approach.....but your school might be different

Yes, you can use the “all conditions met” letter to apply for your visa, as long as the school has confirmed it. That said, could you share what conditions were included in the offer letter you received in February?
They were just two conditions.
1. Send an official transcript.
2. Pay 2000 CAD deposit fee
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by AbelAbdul: 8:53pm On Apr 07
amnotapervert:
In most cases, to have a stronger application, it’s advisable to show more funds than the minimum required.
1. Showing more funds and the funds stays in your account (you only pay deposit fee)

2. Paying one year fee.

Which of the above is more advisable?

My school said as it stands, the can't tell how I would need to pay for one year tuition as my course is paid per-credit and not flat rate. And to know how much I need to pay I have to register my course and registration starts July.

Secondly my school gave me two letters.
1. Conditional offer letter which was issued in February.

2. All Conditions Met Letter which was issued last month.

When I requested for LOA, my admission advisor said I can use the second letter issued to apply for visa.

One size does not fit all, so you have to find what works best for you.

However, one thing I always emphasize is that it’s often better to choose a program in a province where a Master’s degree can directly qualify you for a PNP stream....its just giving yourself a better advantage....

In some cases, the specific course doesn’t matter as long as it’s a Master’s degree. The only downside is how frequently draws are conducted.

Let me explain.

On March 18, Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited Master’s and PhD graduates for the first time since 2024. Imagine someone who has been waiting that long, relying on this as their only pathway.....it can be very stressful. https://www.ontario.ca/page/2026-ontario-immigrant-nominee-program-updates#section-0 so do not put all your eggs in one basket

1. Ontario Master’s Graduate Stream

You do not need a job offer or work experience to qualify. However, you must have studied in Ontario.

This is usually the easiest and most popular option. Requirements are relatively straightforward: CLB 7 and Proof of residency in Ontario

A lot of people benefit from this stream.....but its no frequent draws

2. British Columbia

In British Columbia, no job offer is required after graduation but it is limited to specific fields:

Natural sciences, Applied sciences and Health sciences. If your Master’s is not in one of these areas, you will not qualify

Most other provinces have graduate streams, but they typically require: A job offer, or Work experience, or Employer support....
I remember in 2024 when people where living ontario to Saskatchewan for PR purpose watch her video from 0.45
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqIfA1p1Zkw

The advantage is that they tend to have more frequent draws compared to Ontario and British Columbia.

Keep in mind that everything is subject to change. For example, British Columbia’s stream was not field-specific before 2023/2024, but it was later updated to focus on Natural Sciences, Applied Sciences, and Health Sciences... now you need a one year work experience in the field you went to school with in BC if its not among the mentioned one........

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WsX3sU3dtQ

Quebec, Nunavut, and some Atlantic streams do not offer clear, direct PR pathways specifically for Master’s graduates.

I might wake up today and the government changes the rule hahahahah that's how they are so as a said one size does not fit all

Whuch province is better for the PNP?

Before coming to Canada If your purpose is to stay in Canada after schooling and your Post graduate work permit

I want you to use the CRS calculator to determine your exact points without studying or working in Canada.

Then, do another calculation assuming you study and work in Canada for 3 years.

If, after comparing both results, you still don’t reach 500 points for CEC, you should think twice and consider focusing on PNP, French, or category-based draws.

FYI Max your IELTS score when testing or you know what you can get when you write English exam

Memorial University of Newfoundland is one of the cheapest schools you can attend in Canada.

Right now, the Canadian job market is not what it was after 2021, but it still depends heavily on your skills and experience.

https://www.jobbank.gc.ca/trend-analysis
https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/t1/tbl1/en/tv.action?pid=1410028703

As for PR, it is not guaranteed.......but nothing in life is guaranteed except death. So you have to plan wisely.

Think carefully about all your options. Check whether you currently qualify for any PR category-based draws.

If you come to Canada to study and later work, and you can get up to 500 CRS points, which may qualify you for a CEC draw after graduation if not you need to rethink about it.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/policies-operational-instructions-agreements/ministerial-instructions/express-entry-rounds.html

However, with current trends, scores may remain around that range for a long time, especially if you are not in an in-demand field.

The school itself is solid ranked among the top 30 universities in Canada.....and still one of the most affordable options.

When it comes to jobs, it depends on your skills. The Canadian job market is very competitive, but you can find a job if you have the right skills and are persistent. Just be prepared.........it may take time.

And again, PR is not guaranteed. Age is not on your side you will school and work for 3 years before you start looking at PR options, except you focus on category-based draws or a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) if you are coming to canada
You are bent on discouraging people from coming to Canada. I saw your post where you told a member to book the next flight to MM1.

I wish you all the best, but what most people don’t tell you is that they don’t do this at the POE. They apply after they are already in the country. It’s called dual intent, and it is legal.

You can enter Canada on a visitor visa and later apply for a study permit from inside Canada but not at the POE.

That same day, you might encounter a strict border officer who takes your declaration very seriously . Your actions must match your original purpose of entry, which is a visitor visa.

Only U.S. citizens or permanent residents ( green card Holders), Residents of Greenland or Saint-Pierre and Miquelon can do that at the POE

You are a Nigerian you can not

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/apply.html

Please ask questions before doing anything, because that’s not how it’s typically done at the POE.

Do not do that at the point of entry.
