7. The first two weeks u kick off the business, don't drive. look for a driver who has ply the route. let him drive while u sit beside him and learn.
Every route has its own rules. for example, if u intend plying Port Harcourt to Bayelsa, there are places you don't stop to either carry passengers or drop passengers.
If you do and those agbero catch you, is either the bust your tyre or you pay heavily.
The driver will teach you the job. |

6. To avoid embarrassment and unnecessary spending to task force, there are unions u have to join, there are tickets u have to buy, there are stickers u have to buy and your vehicle has to be registered with at least a union.
for example, if u intend entering Bayelsa with your vehicle, you have to buy their sticker. Their sticker is 15k.
The only time you can enter Bayelsa without sticker is on Sundays. |

3. If u are new in the business, my best advice is that you drive the car by yourself. Don't give it to anyone no matter your relationship with him.
I learnt this the hard way. |

1. Know the route you want to ply and the kind of vehicle that ply such route.
For example, most buses plying Port Harcourt to Bayelsa are Mazda.
And most cars plying Mbiama to Ugehelli are siennas. |

I was on this forum months ago seeking for advice on the kind of vehicle to buy and start up a transport business.
I eventually bought it and the business kicked off two months ago. Before I share my pain and gain in the business, I'd like to drop some key things to know before venturing into transport business. |

Was it also greed that makes a seller to use a female profile and an app to change his voice to a female's voice? |

Chimaokigwe I was told here to budget 2.5 for 06 Sienna. I saw that 06 Sienna on Naijauto @ 3m. We bargain price till we landed at 2.8. I proceded to make a deal only to discovered dat it's a scam. I got dat same 06 at 2.2 at a car stand. Is this what u call greed? |

kingphilip: are you sure of olx
I've sold things on olx before and all the transactions were made on face to face basis and in these kind of transactions there's nothing like scam because you see what you want to buy and if possible test before buying A seller on olx used a female name and picture on his profile. Uses an app to change his voice to female. I later discovered it.. Guess you were lucky. |

Chimaokigwe: That's because you're a greedy clown trying to get more for less like my neighbour who went with his wife in public transport to buy brand new freezer for 20k from a 'Customs officer' in Badagry.
For automobiles alone, I've bought 2 SUVs and 1 car on Jiji. I've transacted businesses worth millions of Naira on Jiji.
However, I have a simple rule: don't be greedy and all transactions must be face to face. I said Naijauto not jiji. Please can you explain how am I greedy? I wanted to buy cars for transport business and I had Honda or Toyota in mind. I came to this forum and was advised against Honda. I opted for Toyota. I was also advised to get toks. The cars I wanted to buy were Nigerian used. After being advised against Nigerian used on this forum, i came back to this forum to ask the price of toks which two guys here gave me a budget price. I went to naijauto and olx and saw the Toyota sienna cars toks at the same price I was told on this forum. I contacted the seller and later discovered it's a fraudster this goes on and on. Please explain how am I GREEDY? GREEDY for trying to do business online or what? Because those cars I saw were never cheap cars. Some were even more expensive than the price I was told on this forum. |
Autos › My Experienced With Car Dealers At Naijauto And Olx by AbelAbdul(op): 2:55am On Apr 12, 2019 |
All the car dealers I've met on Naijauto.com and Olx.com are fraudsters. One uses an app to change his voice to a female voice. I almost got scammed.
The best is to walk down to a car stand and buy a car which I just did.
Naija isn't a safe place to do e-business. |

cooooooks: Try my Mazda 5. I drove for 7 months in Canada. It is in perfect condition. Had it checked and fixed only the shock absorbers in CANADA, not Apapa. Great fuel efficiency, same size as Sienna & Odyssey, very comfortable. Both rows of rear seats can be folded down for more room. Great car! Comes with everything: jack, spare tyres, etc. drop more pics |
