RIP to the dead.
On one occasion I accompanied a dying accident victim to a hospital around shitta (not Randle) which has its annex somewhere along Ikeja, on that day it took us tearing the place down in fury to really get the rather non-chalant nurses on their feet.
One got three slaps in rapid succession and could not help but scream, "I would get the doctor now.. hold on oga, I'm somebody's wife..The doctor is here, he is here"
This was one time they changed their positon concerning the whereabouts of the doctor after having spent 41 minutes pleading to see same. We lost one of the victims during this plea for attention.
People walk the streets unemployed while the employed ones fail at their responsibilities, they were not set to take responsibilities and therefore should voluntarily resign and make way for enthusiastic personnel.
It's saddening to know how many people loose their loved ones to trivial comments like, police report, doctor no dey, we don't have light, no bed space, we can't handle this here (for God's sake why would you still open shop the next day and live to earn the months wages at its end?).
This points in one direction, as a people we need to have a rethink on what we actually need any government to do for us. Not lauding projects as if they were doing us a favour, it's taxpayers money for common sake! Private hospitals should either form a merger or be dissolved.
I think customer service should be the focal point of these institutions. |

I am more interested in the failure of world power to curb a Terrorist group called ISIS yet berate our efforts in dealing with Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria.
They hate to see us succeed without their help. They are quick to stir up their amnesty international group to accuse us of human right violations.
ISIS can do whatever they want with you, I don't care!!!
Kudos to GEJ on his efforts on Insurgency. Kudos to PMB on his efforts on insurgency. Long live the Nigerian Army.

Hehehe people are now waking to the ugly truth, the Northerners are the untouchables, the southerners are set on self destruct by the very education they acquired with their own hard earned resources.
While we are here soliciting for them by building the alma jiri schools the bunch of elites over there are seriously berserk as to what culminated into GEJ thinking their people need emancipation.
It couldn't have felt any worse for an average northerner whom have known no other system but oligarchy to prefer your make-believe democracy.
They clench tight fisted on their solid minerals, lay bold claim on your oils, lay siege of vast arable portion of land, hold firmly onto power and can even tell some "sophisticated" elders to keep shut on their own soil.

Politics › Re: Igbos, Please Leave The Niger Delta Alone by ABEngine(m): 5:56pm On Oct 26, 2015 |
Afam4eva: One of the reasons why I don’t support groups such as MASSOB or IPOB is not because I don’t think Igbos or any group for that matter have the right for self-determination. My only worry is the mode through which this is carried out. The truth is that the Biafran dream will remain a pipe dream if the initiators go about it the way they are currently. Apart from the fact that they are not going about it the right way by appealing to those that matter in Igboland and taking their case to the United Nations (UN), the most embarrassing disposition that they have created is one of forcing people who have not given their consent to be included in the Biafran agenda.
The fact that most of the areas known as the Niger Delta were naturally part of the old eastern region and as such were naturally part of the Biafran agitation in the 60s does not mean the same thing holds today. The divide and rule tactics has worked and anybody that can’t see it needs to go for an eye checkup. I’m tired of this whole “We are not Igbo, we are Edo”, “Our ancestors ate Igbo yam and that is why we are Igbo” or the opposing views that portray such desperate disposition that could be mistaken as Hitler’s intended conquering of Europe.
Igbos should fight for their rights and their only. Let’s stop this “SS and SE” BS. This people have oil for Bleep sake. Leave them the heck alone. They don’t want to have anything to do with you. I wonder why you can’t see that. They probably hate you more than the Hausas and the Yorubas that you see as your arch rivals. You have nothing to offer them, so leave them the heck alone.
In my mind, I even think it will make more sense for Igbos to align with other major groups and not minorities. These minorities don’t care about you. They see you as a land grabber. It doesn’t matter whether their names are the same as yours, their mode of thinking and vision is different, so it will serve you well if you focus on your SE affairs and stop romancing people that don’t want to be romanced.
If you are really passionate about getting Biafra whether or not it comes with oil or seaport then you must present your Biafran case as the SE alone. Don’t even include the Asaba area, atleast for now. Present your case as the war ravaged SE that no one can benefit from and the powers that be may change their kind and give it to you. But as long as you keep romancing oil, those Abuja people will not mind being Niger Delta’s father Christmas by sending gun wielding soldiers to teach you a bitter lesson for the second time. A word is enough for the wise. It's not Friday and you drunk already? You must be having a large quantity of that good ish.. but watch it. |

Ryabcool: you are missing the point. Northerners never wished for a centralised government at first. Every region depended on its resources and there was development in all three though varied. If Aguiyi hadn't introduced a central government, the eastern region would have had a 50% controlling interest(as with all regions that had their indigent resources) when oil was discovered on a massive scale in the Niger Delta. But due to greed for absolute power and short sightedness, Aguiyi went ahead and claimed all state owned assets and resources as exclusively the federal preserve. Now fast forward a few years when oil was discovered, the Northerners who saw the free and easy money from oil grew to like and fully utilise the central system of government. More or less, the cat was shown the easy way to catch an unlimited supply of fish in the stream, so you can't blame the Northerners if they are unwilling to let go of such free money. Blame Aguiyi Bro, not the Northerners. Thanks, this is an educating piece. I now happen to see this issue in another dimension. |

Ryabcool: stop trying to twist history. Aguiyi Ironsi was the one who introduced a Unitary System of Government, the Northerners were too afraid to try that until that guy showed it could be done. So blame it all on him. Dear Historian, J. T Aguiyi Ironsi didn't fight the 1966/67 "One Nigeria" war. The all so important Nigeria which is apparently the north should have let go at that point if it was meaningless to keep a bunch of "non-entities" as non igbos now claim. |

I see the foot prints of the igbo merchants in Lagos, Kano and Kaduna. Let's even look at Ondo which is heated with south-western nepotism at the moment and fiery hate for the igbos.
I would kindly suggest we have a rethink if we must survive this union called Nigeria. Someone rightly noted the poor spate of the Northern contribution to our purse and yet they yearn for a centralised government even with the endowment of solid minerals. Is the case to deplete the south and enrich the North?
I swear Gowon knew exactly what would become of the contraption, Nigeria if they had let go, his current statement "With Biafra, it is finished!" would not have revealed any better why he exerted extreme efforts to destroy the Biafran struggle.
I think at this point the Nigerian agenda should be pacifying the igbos to remain in Nigeria through whatever means. |

I believe we are yet to see the big picture behind the Rivers, Akwa Ibom & Bayeslsa power tussles, if Lagos didn't permit influence of PDP at the center, they had their reasons. I am not a partisan to any political party, but I do wish to state that Rivers state cannot be handed over the APC, even the dead knows this.
Irrespective of what your stand is about my comment, I would like to insist that as a citizen I suggest the current government should shift focus to developing other mineral resources, repatriate loots of its cronies in the past and rebuild industries in other states (Solid minerals are currently monopolised by known families) and decentralising power.
What I think PMB must have forgotten is that having INEC at his beck and call can't suffice to reelection in the current day awareness.
As for Rivers state, those people are not foolish, they will certainly pick any other party over APC. Remember the incumbent was an APC stalwart even before the elections. |

Meanwhile, I think my Yoruba friends on here should understand that no tribe has any sort of privilege over the others and as such should learn also that if there had been reprisal attacks someone would have lost a dear one. Recognized or not, every social unit has a head it is only tribalistic to denounce such knowledge.
