I still insist that Tinubu, as a private citizen, reserves the right not to comment, especially considering the volatile atmosphere. Though I am almost certain that he is working behind the scenes to calm frayed nerves. He may even still later comment but that's entirely up to him.

Those with the power and authority that can effect the demands of the agitators have already spoken, yet the protests are still ongoing. Are you suggesting that it is Tinubu they are waiting for to address them, so that they can insult him the more? He has yet to declare his interest in the presidency and if he does decide to run for president you are free to hold his refusal to comment against him. I know that you lots asking him to comment are not sincere. You know very well that whatever he says will be politicized either way coz y'all already hate his guts. Una just dey find another scapegoat/object of una vitriol.

@southniyikaye: Op you are just being mischievous. You people HATE Tinubu already. Yet you complain when he stays on his lane and decides not to comment on issues. Tinubu can decide whether or not to comment. Why are you all not calling out Obasanjo? Tinubu is NOT a government official. He is a private citizen without government portfolio. Or is he the president, Vice president, speaker of the House, or senate president? I can bet anything that if he makes any comment, your reaction would be to politicize his statements and rain abuses on him as usual. He is entitled to not talk if he chooses to.

Obaseki won online (which buttresses my point about PDP winning most online polls), but most polls conducted online for 'likes' on Nairaland were won by the PDP candidate - - he won all the 'click like for Jegede and share for Aketi posts on Nairaland threads before the election. Most if not all of them.

As in. PDP and Jegede were always getting the most likes online, especially here on Nairaland. My takeaway from this is that:

(1)PDP influencers are more active on social media, therefore they try to shape and influence opinions on topics politically by delivering as many 'likes' on topics that pits their party against the APC, while the APC supporters either don't care about 'likes' or are outnumbered on Nairaland. You will find that APC candidates rarely ever get more 'likes' than PDP ones on virtually all Nairaland polls, even if the APC candidate ends up winning the election.

(2)Elections are not won online. If not, Atiku and Jimi Agbaje would be president and governor respectively, today.

I was referring to people that put too much confidence in online 'likes' and 'feeds' when it comes to elections. Bottomline is, it is the electorates on ground (many of whom aren't even online) that decide elections, not online 'likes'.

When will you people learn that online sentiments/votes are not always a good indicator of how elections will turn out on ground? A lot of times, people from other states project their biases and sentiments online concerning elections that they won't even participate in, when infact most of the real voters aren't even online.

That guy you replied exaggerated parts of his statements. Fayose respects Tinubu because when OBJ went after him, Tinubu helped him when everyone else (including PDP stalwarts) refused to identify with him. Some politicians have strong relationships that cut across party lines, e.g Tinubu and Atiku. The part about Tinubu imposing Fayose on Fayemi is a lie and a gross exaggeration. That never happened.
