Poverty na bastard. |
I think that would be better because all states are not equal when it comes to income generation and revenues, cost of living, and other indices. We all know some states are richer/poorer than others. Therefore each state should be free decide its own fiscal policies, including wages. It can go a long way in resolving the issue of some states owing salaries, because it is better to pay what you can afford as a state government, than to owe workers salaries that you can't afford to pay. ![]() |

Like you have a choice. Bye bye to the wannabe tyrant/dictator and worst president in American history. palsenator:Akuko. Hitler also improved Germany's economy (with far more impact than Trump has had on the u.s economy), but what is his legacy up till today? He was a tyrant, despot/dictator, racist/bigot, genocidal demagogue, all rolled into one! Trump's latest coup/insurrection attempt has obliterated every supposed positive effect he may have had on the U.S economy. And for that reason he will go down in history as the worst president in American history. |
Maybe I don't have all the facts, but I just can't see how APC can win this case. |
baby124:Guy, you don't know what you are talking about. Banana Island is a gated community that hosts hotels, offices in High Rise buildings, and private residences, and you still cannot enter there anyhow just because it hosts businesses. Eko Atlantic is just a larger version of banana island. Apartments there are priced in u.s dollars and run into millions of dollars. It wasn't planned to be an all-comers affair like the Marina CBD for example (it is being built to accommodate just 250k people, in a city/state of over 20-million, that right there should tell you all you need to know). Right now as we speak, there are restaurants you can visit within Eko Atlantic that can enable you gain access into it, based on reservation. But this idea of yours that it is to be opened to every Tom, Dick and Harry is a farce. Go and read up on it. |
Who are these 'hoodlums' we keep hearing about sef? |
baby124:Going by your argument, Lagos owns every land in the state, yet people purchase those lands, develop them, and regulate entry into them. Eko Atlantic is no different from say Banana Island either, because you can't just enter there anyhow. Chagoury group dredged and reclaimed the land from the sea and sand-filled it for development (not LaSG). It can choose to regulate entry/exit to and from the estate to maintain its intended character. The state government merely played a regulatory role as a stakeholder. |
Balogunodua:What part of it isn't private, pray tell oga? |
It's like this new strain of COVID-19 is killing younger people, unlike the previous one. The Ekenedilichukwu transport owner's son who also passed away from covid19 some days ago was just 42yrs old, while this latest victim is just 37. This is some scary sheet. |
oyatz:Yes. Jimoh Aliu (Aworo) died from covid19 complications back in September of last year. |
Rareoil:Where do some of you people get your news from? Eko Atlantic is owned by Gilbert Chagoury, a Nigerian-Lebanese billionaire. Every structure being erected there is owned by private investors. Whoever told you that it is owned by the Lagos State government lied to you, so perish the thought. |
Chop you how? Are you a shawarma or burger? |
A legend is gone. First it was Aworo, now Orisabunmi. |
Eko Atlantic is a private area, just like a private estate. I guess you thought it belongs to the government or something, where any Tom, Dick and Harry can just access at will. Same way you can't just enter a private estate without prior invitation (unless you live or work there), you can't expect to just enter there anyhow. Besides, it is still under construction. |
If El-Rufai has any honour left in him, he should tender a public apology to the owner of the building, and compensate her for his foolishness. |
Whay is going on with the security situation in Oyo State lately? |
Good luck to them. |
What's going on in Oyo State? Seems they are grappling with security issues in several parts of the state. Amotekun corps should be careful with the way they relate with people, and not just be shooting anyhow. |

He is just saying the truth. Most igbos can't bring themselves to like APC. Igbo hatred for APC comes naturally, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Not even with an igbo Presidential candidate. It is what it is. ![]() |
Bakare must have some serious dirt on FFK, for him to be this gentle. I suspect he is the one that reached out to Bakare for a ceasefire. |
nettpen:So, Nigeria couldn't afford to borrow for infrastructure, but it could borrow the equivalent of a billion dollars to pay salaries during GEJ administration? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/05/06/fg-borrows-n473bn-to-pay-salaries-okonjo-iweala/amp/ |
Beamer l'oko won. |
White terrorist. |
EMMAUGOH:You are a dishonest fellow going by this post of yours. If igbo supporters of Jonathan in PDP had allowed zoning to prevail when the Northerners were insisting that another Northerner be allowed to complete the North's two terms after the untimely death of late yaradua in 2011, igbos would have been at a poll position for the Presidency under the PDP by now, if not already in their first term even. After yaradua's death, his igbo supporters in PDP said there was no zoning and influenced Jonathan in using his power of incumbency as acting president to impose his candidacy on the party. But it seems you people have suddenly forgotten the ignoble roles you played during that saga, and now you are forming 'saint' and want to use the same zoning you rejected to keep GEJ in power, to now claim that it is your turn. Una think say una wise? |
Bbb |
Even though Fayemi has said he doesn't believe in zoning, anybody from the South should be free to contest. Be it Tinubu, Osinbajo, OUK. No one should be deprived of their freedom to contest. They should all go to the field and test their popularity |
