IjebuWarrior: Some fools would still commend this rubbish!
When are we gonna start building factories and industries that manufactures capital goods? What do you think the lekki free trade zone is for there are already over 15 factories set up there and the port will attract more companies to set up there because they can import or export their goods quicker and it is more reliable companies like Kelloggs, arla, Aslan and loving home factories have already set up their plants there, also there are plans to set up a cocoa processing plant where they will export cocoa butter and other cocoa based cosmetics and since it is close to the port it is much easier

Mkenya2019: Konza is a technopolis campus - don't expect to see huge skyscrappers there - the plots will not be sold - they will be given free - right now - we are fixing horizontal infrastructure - roads, electricity, sewage , fiber - and then investors will rush in to take advantage of free land - maybe tax holiday - and it will be full before you're out of recession. Oil doesn't seem to be getting out of recession soon. First off were out of recession second off konza is not a campus it is not a university it is a city that makes no sense if the government is going to spend a billion dollar on a university does it I watched a progress video released in July I went to the comment section they said this project is horrible how they extorted the money and how it was meant to be completed by 2020 but all they have is one building. Plus even if it is a free trade zone you are not going to give away your land for free are you because your making no profit and debenefitting yourself if you just gave away land for free You say there will be noo Skyscrapers all the renders and masterplans involve skyscrapers and highrise buildings. |

Mkenya2019: There is progress but not as fast as we want. I think it was started earlier - with Land acquisition - 5,000 acres - and being 60kms from Nairobi - there is a lot of work that need doing. Admittedly it as slow as your Eko City with has 2 or 3 towers completed in nearly 20 yrs. https://lh3.ggpht.com/p/AF1QipNcDyiu_3Vgiwp8b60MHByceWa35uYO2WeG673A=s1536 But it isn't as slow because Eko Atlantic, the sand reclamation was completed in 2015 befirec the recession you cannot build anything reasonable during a recession no private company would even approach a country like that But now that we have recovered many companies are investing and coming to Eko Atlantic to build headquarters and buildings like Lagos sky tower, LA reve tower, c towers, audacity skyline and iconic towers so those plots have all been bought and all they are doing is soil testing for their buildings unlike konza where most plots are not bought up no sign of cranes, or excavators etc on site and no infrastructures like street lights, water pumps and over amenities etc |

Mkenya2019: Not true. Konza has been allocated funding every year - the office complex for Konza secretariat is complete - the horitzontal infrastructure for Phase 1 is ongoing (awarded to some Italian company). The Korean Institute of Science & Technology deal has been signed and just awaiting financing agreement. This project started like 2014 or 2016 and all you can say is we have one building no land reclamation or dispute no funding gproblens but only one building and I know you are lying I did a bit of research and according to at least five different news companies have said konza city has not taken off or konza city struggles to attract private investment I even went onto the official channel for konza on Twitter they had basically no news whatsoever other than this guy visited this place and that's all no progress on this building or render for this building or proposed etc. There is no real progress or milestone happening in Konza city and frankly you are yourself if you think massive progress is happening there if it was really moving forward we would have seen at least 4 building by now. |

No it is not that close from what I know they are only finalizing funding now that is why work has not been going very fast before they working off a small loan from the Nigerian government so they were only able to start the breakwater but now work will speed up because they have gotten the funding. |

gallivant: It's almost as complete as the Eko sand dunes. Eko Atlantic is actually nearing completion over 200 international companies have started coming to Eko Atlantic to plan their buildings they have added over 50 renderings and plots of land have already been bought up by 2024-2026 Eko Atlantic will be complete In other news Bakassi deep seaport has been approved and it will cost 2 billion dollars again China Harbour are planning on building it will have 9 berths and will hold 2 million TEUs when completed the government is trying to spread out the ports so that no one port is having too much activity because that is what causes congestion China Harbour is also going to be building the new warri port they are planning the designs and how much land etc for the warri port it will likely cost 1.8 billion dollars. Nigeria is also set to start the AKK gas pipeline project at the start of next year this project is ajaokuta-kaduna-kano gas project in the project there will be a 1350MW plant at each stop and a 800MW plant in Abuja on the way this project will solve power problems for the states of kaduna, kano, Abuja and kogi state In Lagos in association with the dangote petrochemical plant they are going to develop 3000MW of power through gas pipelines in Lagos this is working with Siemens to provide these solutions By 2023 Siemens plan on providing Nigeria with 25 000MW, whilst TCN a public Nigerian association is planning on providing 20 000MW of power by 2022 added to this the world Bank gave Nigeria 3 billion dollars for their power projects Nigeriabs do not worry your electricity woes will be over soon. |

One thing you should know is that LFTZ is greatly ostracized from the rest part of Lagos.. the distance from VI to LFTZ is quite far..LFTz is a very remote area with gated property so not much lagosians are aware that such place exist plus they have strict drone policy..You can't just walk into the property if you don't work there or you are not an investor let alone going to.places close to the port ..Lekki deapseaport is almost complete..you can watch latest update On YouTube No I went on the internet and tolaram group the people doing it said they are only finalizing the financing this week and the actual port project like the berths etc will start construction at the end of 2019 this is according Tolu Ogunlesi a minister of news or something like that China Harbour the people building it have gotten up the money to build it |

Turns out that the project hasn't actually started yet because those images were for something called the dangote jetty a port dangote built for his refinery and the actual lekki deep seaport is only finalizing funding this week. China Harbour engineering group is spending 470 million dollars in equity for a 52% stake in the project China development bank is funding it with 630 million dollars, the tolaram group has a 25% stake whilst Nigerian portd authority has 5% and Lagos state government has 20% |

Abohboy: You can see which countries are going to be leading Africa and I am loving all of this news of new ports and railways Cameroon canceled their port because of lack of funding so now they are looking at Nigeria for the bakasi deep seaport which is very close to Cameroon and when the coastal rail line is complete it will be extended to Benin and Cameroon
Who just may start using our ports and buying our goods because well ours is better same case for Kenya as they as more people will use their ports because it is faster more efficient and much larger creating Kenya a lot of money
I did a bit of research and the Lamu port is much bigger than the lekki and the bakasi deep seaports Lamy will handle 25 million TEUs whilst lekki will handle 10 million TEUs and bakasi will also handle 10 million TEUs
Lamu is a massive project and I am sorry to say kazi it seems extremely feasible for people on Malawi, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and some parts of Ethiopia to start using lamu port for their imports More development for Nigeria, as Lagos state government is planning on placing 3000km of Fibre optic cables to make it a smart city there are plans to upgrade the sewage system and cleaning of existing drainage systems has started Last week sanwo olu the governor named a state of emergency on all bad roads and got 4 different contractors to fix a lot of roads all around Lagos they have started and it is in full gear Waterway transportation is slowly becoming more buoyant with more stations being planned and the first phase of the light rail will be completed |

vaxx2: Wonderful, Ghanaian doctor perform heart suggery without opening the patient heart at Ghana second largest hospital located in kumasi .......
Ghanaian doctors at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) have for the first time performed a successful heart surgery without opening the heart.
The new procedure which according to the doctors takes between 30 to 35 minutes, is one of the safest procedures to adopt.
This according to the hospital management is the first time such a procedure has been used successfully by local doctors in Ghana.
Speaking on behalf of the hospital management after the successful operation, Head of Nursing at KATH, Georgina Afua Sam noted that the feat achieved has been made possible as a result of a collaboration between the hospital and a Chinese Hospital, Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital.
According to her, doctors from the Chinese hospital usually visit KATH to help perform surgeries using this method but this time around, a team from Ghana alone performed the surgery using the method.
“In April this year, we signed an MOU with them in China for continued collaboration, capacity building and providing of facilities. For this fifth time, normally when they come, (all the missions) they do open heart surgery and pacemaker. For this time, they didn’t do any open-heart surgery, they did the valve and the replacement in which the heart was not opened. This is the first time in Ghana and this time too it was done at the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital. We are so happy that our cardiologists had the opportunity to do the first pacemaker surgery which had a lot of benefits for the patient”.
After the successful operation, the hospital management is confident that they are in a better position to handle such issues in subsequent times.
Georgina Afua Sam then called on the general public with heart conditions to visit the facility to ensure that they are adequately treated.
“What we are saying is that we’ve started. We want the community, the entire nation as a whole to know that Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital has started and patients can come. They are warmly welcomed,” she added.
Speaking to Citi News, the team leader from the Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital, Prof. Lin Chunying said in order for Ghanaian doctors to be able to apply the new cardio technique, her outfit through the support from the Chinese government sent some Ghanaian cardiologists to be trained in China.
“From 2014, we have been training doctors in Ghana. The first Doctor is Dr. Francis from the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and subsequently, we trained other doctors from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. All of them were under training for one year. They studied PCI, Intervention Operation including Pacemaker. After their training, they came back to Ghana and they tried to do operations themselves. So from 2014, I carried my team to Ghana to help them build their capacities and now they can do pacemaker themselves”.
She is hopeful that after the successful surgery performed by the Ghanaian team, the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital will be able to perform subsequent surgeries using the new procedure (Pacemaker) in order to save more lives.
“I think in the future, the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, since they have a Pacemaker team, maybe every week, they can finish Pacemaker themselves to save more lives”.
Some doctors however disclosed to Citi News that some equipment needed is not readily available and as a result, in order to facilitate their work, such equipment should be provided.
They are appealing to government and other philanthropic individuals and organizations to support them in that regard.
Source: citinewsroom.com We also have some good news as well in the Healthcare part Seyi makinde( beat Governor in Nigeria) who has only been in office since may has said they need to start upgrading their hospitals so he is going to update Jericho hospital in Ibadan to proper standards. |

Mkenya2019: Yes there have to be massive investment to bridge the infrastructure deficit in Africa. Africa Dev Bank is doing a good job. But what especially need to happen is for intra-africa trade to improve. Africa Free Trade needs to happen. Nigeria need to stop blockade their borders and deal with the smugglers.
As for KaziKazi he is just as usual - envious - otherwise their Dar Port is targetting countries that are further away than LAMU - Ethiopia. From Dar to Kigali in Rwanda or Bujumbura in Burundi or Lusaka Zambia or Lilongwe in Malawi or Kampala...you're talking minimum of 1,500kms - to 2,000kms (Zambia) - and probably further for DRC Congo.
Now LAMU to Ethiopia is just about 1,000kms. How cannot not be feasible? First we will grow the transshipment business, then get oil tankers to Lamu and eventually get Ethiopia & South Sudan using the port.
We need massive infrastructure investment in Africa - railway, highways and airlines - should be cross cutting countries - to boost intra-africa trade and travel - and improve the economy - rather than trying to trade with countries 10,000 kms away. Exactly and this is why I love all these countries building their railways I think you can tell who the leaders of Africa are by how many major infrastructure projects are ongoing and will benefit the average man Kenya: Lamu Port, Kibera slum regeneration, social housing, improvement of Healthcare, great northern road, jkia-westlands highway, Tatu city, konza city you can add more if you want Botswana: Empty desert Nation when I searched for infrastructure projects just told me providing water to villages and some smart city being developed by the catholic church enlighten me on more Ghana: apolonia city, Accra to kumasi railway, Volta Bridge, marine drive add more vaxx and just 30 of you want to Nigeria:Lagos-ibadan-kano-maradi-niamey railway, Lagos-akure-Benin city-warri-uyo-Port Harcourt-calabar-Yaounde railway, Lagos-Coto nou railway, Nigeria coastal highway, kano-maiduguri highway, 20 rice mill projects, cassava-ethanol projects, cocoa processing factories, upgrading of all federal hospitals, TCN 1.6 billion dollar investment for 20 000MW of power by 2022,world bank 3 billion dollars electricity loan and Siemens 25 000MW electricity deal, lekki port, bakasi port, calabar port and warri port add more if you want to but I got bored and stopped here Everyone gather here and post infrastructure projects of your country no more arguing just posting as many infrastructure projects as you can no duplicating post your project and comoare it to another countries project any hate will be frowned upon from now on can that PLEASE happen sow e are benefitting each other and learning rather than just insulting |

Mkenya2019: How did I force you? Or the poor grasp of English coming to bite again?
Ethiopia is a huge country - Asmara and Sudan port make sense for northern ethiopia. Central Ethiopia (Addis Ababa) & Eastern Ethiopia make sense to use Djiboutti and Somaliland ports (Hergeissa). Now the southern Ethiopia - and there are many towns - make sense to use LAMU.For example - from industrial city of Hawassa - all the way to Moyale - will find Lamu port very competitive. It will be max of 1,200kms to LAMU port - about same distance from btw Nairobi & Kampala...so if Ugandans find Mombasa competitive...Ethiopeans in Southern region will find LAMU equally good for business.
I know you're envious as we deepen our relationship with Ethiopia and dump your lazy arse .
First we are going to buy 400Mws of their cheap hydros - and they are going to use LAMU port.
We are nearly done building the infrastructure for both export of power and the road network. Eventually we will build a railway network from LAMU to both Ethiopean and Sudan border.
We are going to see lot more trade, tourism and travel btw Kenya and Ethiopia. It's already starting to happen after Isiolo - Moyale road was completed. The plan is to build expressway from Nairobi to Isiolo in near future. Nairobi to Nyeri is already ready to start.
Pray for your maize & beans farmers - because Kenyans are going to be buying a lot of Ethiopian cereals. Mkenya2019: Ethiopia is huge country - like Tanzania - and will need several ports - the distance from Adis Abab to Moyale is 700kms - the distance from Lamu to Moyale...is about 700kms.
Now imagine if any one in Southern Ethiopia want to ship something...from Eritrea (Asmara) to Adis Abab is 1,500kms. The add another say 300-700Kms - so basically on average to ship something from Asmara to Southern Ethiopia is 2,000Kms.From port of Djibouti to Adis is 900kms. Then add another 500. Roughly 1,500kms for any southern ethiopean company to ship.
That makes LAMU with roughly 1000kms to most of Southern Ethiopia the best option.
So LAMU port make economic sense for Southern Ethiopia - it's near the border. The road btw Lamu to Isiolo is being built. Isiolo to Moyale is already built.South Sudan will grow - they have oil. They just need peace.
Here is their ambassador in Lamu last month The Ambassador appreciated the commitment of the government of Kenya and pledged support & commitment of The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in realizing the #LAPSSET projects to expedite regional growth.
"I was present on March 2nd, 2012 when this project was launched by the 3 partner states' Leaders & I appreciate that #LAPSSET is no longer a dream but a reality" Ambassador Meles Alem of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia

It is also very strategically positioned right in front of the lekki free trade zone where lots of factories and industrial parks are you also have the new city area located around the eagle lake I swear things keep on getting better and better the port is going to generate about 561 billion dollars no because Chad and Niger have asked to have their produce delivered through there and the smart taxes and concessions will provide over 561 billion in revenue and if the government owns 40% of that you get 224 billion dollars every year from it With the other ports in bakasi and calabar the government will be making half a trillion dollars every year from our ports and through the special economic zones like the textile, technology and industrial ones Nigeria will be creating over 7 million jobs over all |

There is nothing any south africa bank fund in kenya now - I think we had a syndicated loan from them around 2010 - and we retired it.
LAMU port is funded by kenyans. It being build by Chinese. Most of our loans are from China, Japan, France, Africa Dev Bank, EU, WB and IMF. I personally search it and went to the kpa (Kenyan ports authority) website and it said it is majority funded by the south African development bank and a private Chinese company whilst the small 10% is for the French, British stakeholders and the Kenyan government |

Abohboy: Mombasa has not overtaken Lagos first off second off lekki deep seaport was mentioned only seven years ago but they only started construction February last year that picture us from January today they have finished the 1.5km long breakwater and they are going to start the construction of the actual container port now
The first berth will come in Q2 2020 and when fully completed in 2025 it will be able to handle over 6 million TEUs making it the largest and deepest seaport in sub Sahara Africa I made a mistake turns out the it is 60/40 shares in it 40% for the Nigerian and Lagos state government than the 60% is for a Singaporean group who own the port of Singapore one of the world's busiest ports in the world and they say they will actually expand on to about 15 million TEUs by 2030 making it he biggest in Africa It is also very strategically positioned right in front of the lekki free trade zone where lots of factories and industrial parks are you also have the new city area located around the eagle lake |
