The fear of state governors abusing the police is unfounded . Is like saying Nigerians can’t govern themselves so we ought not be granted independence.
What is required is good laws establishing state police and its structures and funding and operational direction enacted in such a manner that the governors have no control over them.Such is possible if we the citizens took interest in the making of the law.

Since 1960 that Nigeria became independent,our leaders have always told us to be hopeful about tomorrow. Yet they know that a good tomorrow starts with a good plan today.
Our leaders knew that by the time that tomorrow they preached comes, with nothing achieved, they are no longer in office. They had collected their shares of the “NIGERIAN BOOTY” and left. A new set of leaders would come and tell you to be hopeful for another tomorrow. That’s the fraud we have as leaders.
A better Nigeria of tomorrow is a product of good governance today, such as independent judiciary, an independent INEC, State independent police,independent legislatures,autonomy of states as equal components of the federation etc.
