It was a general consensus on that build by the builders contemporaries that it was a bad idea. But strictly for that build.

The truth of the matter is that you can have a strong 6 incher produced and a weak 9 incher.

So if you're going to pluck foundation blocks off of the shelf in Nigeria then imho you should go with 9 inchers.

I'm yet to see Spyder880, Aventures, Skimanski, KolaShangOne, etc use anything less than 9 inchers for foundation.

One of the profound should haves on my project was not using 9 inchers for my fence. IMHO Nigerian 6 inched are best reserved for partitions of upper walls. This is just my opinion and nothing scientific or building experience based.

what's your take on using 6" hollow blocks for foundation? what's your take on using 6"by 6" pillars for a bungalow?what's your take on foundation depth especially for Abuja and neighbouring states given the high clay content in their soils? I'll explain later. thanks in advance.

that should be 12.3m ( 41ft) x 12.9 ( 43ft) with a with of 1.8 m along 12.3m you will get aprx. 7nr with length of 25m along 12.9m you will get 2nr
you will need about 7/2 = 31/2 At the cost of 15k/nr = N45,500.
other alternative is using Y8mm bar, spacing it 350mm c/c

along 12.3m ( 12.3/0.35 = 35nr @ N600/nr = N21,000) along 12.9m ( 12.9/0.35 = 37br @ N600/nr = N22,200)
Binding wire ( N2,000) TOTAL = N45,200
OPTION B IS STRONGER AND BETTER

Excellent. I personally think that they are nice feature and put my money behind the opinion.

The plan that I bought and modified was designed for Mexico and the model home built in South Texas.

The only issue with internal courtyards is that they tend to use a lot of land. 16 feet of the 50 feet width of the house went to the courtyard.
