Reveal! Mr afolanyan is now selling toy drone and people are rejoicing According to him: What happened was that a man was playing with a toy with his son and the toy got lost only to be discovered by a neighbor and instead of searching for the owner of the toy, the neighbour kept it in his home for a week . And the next thing was to read on a newspaper that a spy object lost control and crashed into a resident's home”, he said. The owner of the kite- like object, Sunday Folayan, an Electronic engineer and the Vice President, Nigeria Internet Registration Association, also expressed shock at the reported crash. Folayan ,who is also into orbit, is the owner of Skynet , a service provider company based in Ibadan, accompanied the Chairman, top local government officials, the police, SSS and other security men to recover the toy on Sunday. Folayan who claimed to have produced many similar toys for his son in the past explained that he was playing with his son with the battery propelled toy when it got missing and all effort to retrieve it failed last week Sunday. He gave a vivid description of the toy which he produced for his son: “The weight of the toy is 0.8 kilogram with the shape of an i-pad . It cannot run more than 15 minutes . It is not solar panelled, but uses battery and a remote control.”However, the residents of the sleepy community told Sunday Tribune that the object was not a toy due to the fearful noise it made and the way it flew about, adding that it could be an explosive. When it flew out, we rushed after it and it was found hanging on the antennae of our neighbour...making a terrible noise and emitting heavy smoke,” Chief Adetoro narrated. He said they ran for safety on hearing the loud bang made on the roof of their house only to discover that the object had entered the toilet hitting its wall in an attempt to exit.

The CEL Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jose Arosemena Mosi, who made the disclosure when he spoke with newsmen in Abuja, said the refineries would be built in Bayelsa and Kogi states. According to him the refineries with targeted capacity of 200,000 barrel per day will guarantee a steady flow of oil products needed to satisfy local consumption. It will take like four or five years to build, complete and start production.” Mosi said the company would be responsible for the funding of the refinery, while IPMAN was expected to provide the local content. The IPMAN President, Mr Chinedu Okoronkwo, said the association sealed the investment deal with foreign company to build the refinery in Agge, Ceek in Bayelsa and Kogi, respectively. Okoronkwo said Agge had one of the deepest port in West Africa and with that it would make it on the refinery hub in the region. He said the one in Kogi would also help to serve the market in the North because of its strategic location According to him, the proposed refineries will help to grow the country’s Gross Domestic Product and reduce capital flight. Okoronkwo said the project would create about two million direct and indirect jobs, help in production distribution nationwide and reduce dependence on importation. He said, “You will agree with me that over 80 per cent of the downstream sector is being owned by the IPMAN, when you are talking of petrol station owners. “So, with these refineries members will have easy access to products and will have it in their stations and by extension it will grow the economy and create wealth.” The IPMAN president said the host governors had demonstrated willingness to support the projects by providing land and other necessary assistance. |

http://thenationonlineng.net/new/dangote-is-africas-first-20billion-man/ Nigerian billionaire and Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote has become the first African entrepreneur to lay claim to a $20 billion fortune as the stock value of his largest holding,Dangote Cement, leaped just about three-fourths since March when Forbes released its annualranking of the world’s richest people. Aliko Dangote’s 93 per cent stake in the cement company is now worth $19.5 billion. Add this to his controlling stakes in other publicly-listed companies like Dangote Sugar and National Salt Company of Nigeria and his significant shareholdings in other blue-chips like Zenith Bank, UBA Group and Dangote Flour; his extensive real estate portfolio, jets, yachts and current cash position, which includes more than $300 million in recently awarded Dangote Cement dividends, Dangote is now worth more than $20 billion. Put into context, the Nigerian billionaire is now among the top 25 richest people in the world, richer than Russia’s richest man, Alisher Usmanov, richer than India’s Lakshmi Mittal and running neck and neck with India’s Mukesh Ambani. He is catching up to such Americans as Google’s billionaire founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. The unprecedented surge in Dangote Cement’s share price is largely a market response to the company’s impressive 2013 Q1 results. The cement manufacturer’s unaudited results for the three months ending March 31 showed that the company’s pre-tax profit rose to $339 million, representing an 80.6% increase from last year and a strong indicator of the company’s future earning potential. The results also indicate a 79.5 % rise in its earnings per share over the corresponding period last year. Explaining the company’s share price boost in an email to Forbes, Carl Franklin, Dangote Cement’s Head of Investor Relations in the U.K said that in the first quarter of 2013, the company had a huge increase in demand across Nigeria, gas supply improved considerably and the capacity was much more ramped up. “So Q1 was the first sign of just how profitable we can be in Nigeria. The amazing thing is that 66% of our gas-fired production in Q1 was done at 84% gas. Imagine what would happen to margins if we did the same amount at 95%. This has given investors a good sense of what we can really do when everything goes in the right direction,” Franklin said. With a current market cap of $20.5 billion, Dangote Cement becomes the first Nigerian company to achieve a market capitalization of over $20 billion. “It’s certainly a landmark for a Nigerian company and we’re proud to be the first to achieve it. Obviously we are focusing on building long-term and sustainable value for shareholders through our investments in Nigeria and Africa. Nigeria is a very entrepreneurial country and I can assure you that other companies will follow us in achieving this.” Other companies might eventually achieve this, but it’s going to take a bit of time. Dangote Cement currently accounts for more than a quarter of the total market capitalization of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The second largest company on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) is currently Nigerian Breweries, West Africa’s largest manufacturer of Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The company has a market cap of $8.5 billion. Dangote debuted on the FORBES billionaires list in 2008 with a fortune we pegged at $3.3 billion. His fortune dropped to $2.5 billion in 2009 and plunged further to $2.1 billion in 2010. His fortune surged 557% in 2011 to $13.8 billion after he took Dangote Cement public. He dropped to $11.2 billion in last year’s rankings, but rebounded at $16.1 billion this year. Since March, his fortune has jumped another 30%. Dangote was destined to shine in business. At age 8, he apparently gave packets of sweets he had made to the house servants to sell for him. His father Mohammed Dangote was a successful businessman and an associate of his maternal uncle Alhaji Sanusi Dantata. Dantata and his brother controlled the trade in kola nuts and livestock conducted by 200 agents. Dangote started building his fortune over three decades ago after taking a loan from Sanusi Dantata. He started trading in commodities like flour, sugar and cement. He became a billionaire by later manufacturing these items. He started making pasta, salt, sugar and flour in 1997. But he found his gold mine in cement, when he was awarded a government’s state owned cement business in 2000 and began building his own plant in 2003. He listed Dangote Cement in 2010. Today, it is Africa’s largest cement company providing cement to Nigeria and other African countries that otherwise would likely have to pay to import much of the materials. Dangote still likely has bigger ambitions. He told Forbes Wealth Editor Luisa Kroll at Davos in 2011 that he expected his firm to have a market cap of $60 billion within five years. At $20.5 billion, Dangote Cement still has a long way to go to live up to that dream, and while it is quite unlikely that Dangote Cement could hit a $60 billion Market Cap by 2016, don’t write it off as ‘impossible’. With Dangote, you never know. |

Amidst apprehension over the possible incursion of the Boko Haram insurgents into the South-East zone, the security committee of the Igbo Leaders of Thought, ILT, has articulated a security awareness programme. This is even as the group has demanded immediate re-deployment of commissioners of police of Northern extraction from the zone, having accused them of shielding Boko Haram suspects. The group said the South-East Governors’ Forum would work with the security programme in order to secure Igbo land from Boko Haram insurgents. According to a press statement issued in Enugu on Tuesday by the Deputy Secretary of the Igbo Leaders’ of Thought, Evan. Eliot Ukoh, “the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe and the secretary of the Igbo Leaders of Thought, Prof Elo Amucheazi will soon liase with the South-East governors to fine tune the South-East security programme. “The ILT hereby expresses our profound gratitude to Prof Akin Osibogun, the CMD of LUTH and the management of LUTH for not only refunding our leader, Prof Ben Nwabueze, the half a million naira he deposited at the hospital last month, but also for showing heart touching care and commitment to his quick recovery. “We also commend the former governor of Anambra State, ex-Governor Peter Obi for the great care and early response he exhibited when our leader was hospitalized at LUTH over a month ago. “We thank all those who through emails calls, and visits showed great solidarity during the days following his unfortunate bathroom fall”. “The ILT pleads with the residents of the South-East and the South-South to remain alert and vigilant as the news of the infiltration of the region by Boko Haram seems real. “Suspicious individuals and packages must be reported promptly to the relevant security agencies. “Finally, the ILT wonders out aloud why all the police commissioners posted to the South-East should be Fulani/ Muslims. Are there no police commissioners from the middle belt, South-South or South-West that could be posted to the South East? “With the shielding of the six Boko Haram bombers arrested at the Owerri Church by the Imo State Commissioner of Police, we hereby reject the continual occupation of the South-East by Hausa/ Fulani Moslem police Commissioners. “We hereby demand that the CPs Abubakar Adamu Mohamed of Enugu, Usuman Gwari of Anambra, Maigari Dikko of Ebonyi, Abdulmajid Ali of Imo and Adamu Ibrahim of Abia should be immediately Juggled and redeployed as we feel uncomfortable with the officers in charge of the South-East as Boko Haram boasts of plans to attack to south. A stich in time saves nine”, the statement added. Send your press release/articles to: newsdesk@ dailypost.com.ng |

http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/top-stories/29472-more-anti-impeachment-protests-rock-nasarawa More anti-impeachment protests have continued to rock much of Nasarawa State, with the groups getting larger when the protests entered day two, today. Lafia, the state capital, witnessed much of the swift reaction by the people, who are raising their voices against the impeachment proceedings which 20 of the 24 members of Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) commenced,on Monday. The House,Monday, reconvened from an ongoing recess at an emergency session, and passed a motion of impeachment, alleging various breaches of the provisions of the constitution against Al-Makura, including misappropriation of funds from 2011 and 2014, as well as alleged gross misconduct and abuse of office processes. 20 of the 24 lawmakers, all of them of the PDP, signed the impeachment notice, containing 16-count charges, which copy is yet to be made public. The lawmakers also passed a motion for the House to do substituted service on the governor if he could not be reached for service by the clerk who was so directed after the speaker, Musa Ahmed Mohammed ruled on the House proceedings which lasted about 12 minutes. But protests which entered the second day, have continued to trail the action of the lawmakers. As at today, Lafia, Keana, Toto and Nasarawa towns saw increasing numbers of people including women and youth groups, as well as elders, who held anti-impeachment placards as they poured into streets and major roads. The protesters raised their voices against the plot, and warned that the execution of the planned impeachment will attract more anger from them. In Lafia, major roads running through the town were taken over by the protesters, compelling shop owners and other businesses to close for the second day. For the second time sinceWednesday, Honourable Mohammed Baba Ibaku said the protests are of no consequence to the action of the assembly, as he urged Governor Al-Makura to prepare his answers against the charges, than “continue to sponsor protests against a constitutional process.” Daily Trust observed that armed policemen were stationed at strategic locations, as they followed up on patrol to prevent the protest from turning violent. They made arrest of two youths suspected to be hoodlums, who tried to capitalize on the protest to cause trouble. State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Ismaila Umaru, confirmed the protest, as well as the arrest of the two suspected hoodlums. He said the police will charge them to court, after investigation. |
http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/top-stories/29459-nscia-warns-against-persecution-of-muslims Members of the Northern Youth Development Foundation with the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi, during their visit to the emir’s palace in Kano yesterday to express grievances over the humiliation faced by northerners in the eastern part of the country. The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has warned the Federal Government to stop using its security agencies to persecute Muslims, saying it will undermine and demystify the military establishment. “A situation in which religious profiling is camouflaged as part of security measures does not spell good omen for the country,” the council said in a statement yesterday. The statement, signed by its director of publicity Muhammad K. Qasim, said the apex Muslim body was shocked by media reports that Maiduguri airport was made available for the use of a politician while “the same airport was suddenly shut against for Muslims recently.” On Monday, the Federal Government reopened the Maiduguri airport which was closed on June 27, for former Borno state governor Ali Modu Sheriff to land. Sheriff, a former chieftain of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), announced his defection to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) same day. The council said: “That a public facility was denied Muslims on pilgrimage was granted to a top politician is a proof of bad faith. It is as unfortunate as it is a confirmation of the impression in some quarters that our insecurity is politicized. “Apart from denying the pilgrims the use of the facility, the Muslims were subjected to physical and psychological trauma as result of their grilling by security apparatus.” It “warns the federal government that it is dangerous to use the security establishment to persecute Nigerians.” The NCSIA also urged the federal government to exercise caution “in the discriminatory use of military and aviation facilities in order to protect the political neutrality of national establishment.” It said the government “has enough powers, constitutionally guaranteed, to tackle its perceived enemies rather than deny tax-paying Nigerians the use of public facilities under the guise of fighting insecurity.” The council also called on the military authorities to “protect and safeguard the credibility of their profession by not being partisan.” It said as national institution, the military “under no condition should they trade their professionalism for political expediency, the type of which Nigerians have worryingly begun to observe with open-mouthed amazement.” |

Dreal1247: So for the the derivation of the niger Delta to be increased by five percent, the North should be given five percent for the problem that they created by themselves. This people wise m? Assuming the crude oil in the Niger delta were to be found in the North, Nigeria should have ceased to exist. We don wise follow una.As far as this country is called a nigeria state, the oil in it belong to nigeria state and not niger delta or bayelsa, no state in nigeria own the oil. Usman Bugaje, has raised a controversial issue on the ownership of Nigeria’s crude oil domiciled majorly in the Niger Delta region. |
Ba'masala if they like they should propose 70percent, they must take all their talk to nation assembly for proper decision to be taking |
HAH: The confab was conceived to reduce the perceived advantage the north has over the south, that was why there was lopsided representation, and clearly the promoters are achieving their aim, however I expect the national assembly to throw away the entire reports of the confab when it comes before them as there was no legal backing for the jamboree.Well said oga, let them proposed anything they want in that conference, since most of the important issue are going to national assembly no problem, they are only ranting with the useless conference.
