I wouldnt say doctors and lawyers get paid too much, rather they may get better pay compared to some other professions. When you consider the sacrifice made to become and to work in either professions,I guess they deserve all they get. A medical student generaaly has to work much harder than others, forgoes social life, and spends longer time in med-school,not to talk of the expenses incured thoughout the training. After graduation, you got to specialize, another period of time studying, working extra long hours, being dehumanized by the senior doctors,no social life, abandoning the family etc. Great peter help me out here. Nike4luv welcome to medicine, but be prepared for lots of work, and am sure you'll cope well girl! |

Seun and Vexxy have said it!Quoting from the Bible:"For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and cling to his wife and the two shall become one" One should pray that his wife and mother can accept and tolerate each other. They should, since they both love the same person. But if they are too jealous and possessive, sorry oh!I will make my mother comfortable, but keep my wife closest to me.Ah..A mother cannot do for me what a wife can do,but , my wife can certainly mother me! . The thing is not to abandon or ignore either person. |
Hm..like you I have given up on the Super Eagles.Qualifying for the world cup-seems like an impossible dream! It can only happen if Angola looses one of its matches and Nigeria wins it too difficult away matches. Like every patriotic football loving Nigerian,I would love to see them qualify for the world cup.But as a realist, this seems very unlikely. The match against Algeria?I hope Nigeria wins by 2 goals to 0,but we may likely get away with a draw. Okocha's absence,it a big blow,I hope the team managers would introduce some fresh young blood into the team-this may help,as we do need a more agressive, and goal hungry, set of players to increase our chances |
Hello, shouting out to all pioneer students of Command Secondary Kaduna(77 to 82 class).Do get in touch,Benjamin Ugbe is missing you guys! Hey,Joseph Okungbowa, where are you these days.Your old friend and room mate "UGLY" would love to hear from you.We both attended UNICAL Medical school(84 to 92set). Hi "soulMate"Alorye,Please contact me.I need to ear from you.Last I heard you were in Sokoto for NYSC. |
Hi Tobi, Can you give more info on this service. Seems most are rather limited to Lagos,Abuja,P/Harcourt. Do they have internet connections. Thanks |
What about stomach ulcer?!There are a lot of information on stomach ulcer. We can diagnose it,treat it via several options. It is not contagious, though may be familial(run in family). Yes many people may have it,but it not comparable to the disaster that is HIV/AIDS. Do you have a specific question on stomach ulcer?Ask and may be people can help. There are also a lot of misinformation about stomach ulcer. Quite a few people have been told they have stomach ulcer(peptic ulcer)without proper investigation and confirmation. This will of course lead to wrong treatment! ![]() |
Yes,Vexxy rocks.Hey...!Vexxy,you truly deserve every good comments and compliments you get from all in the forum. You may not be Nigerian by birth, but you certainly have the heart and soul of a "good nigerian".Keep up the active participation!Vexxy rocks hey!... |
Me thinks,The days when God was a Nigerian in football are long gone.Imagine Angola!Man fit cry oh..!Angola has to loose at least one of its matches(not very likely!),and Nigeria must win its remaining matches(A miracle, very unlikely), for us to Qualify. I hope Laloko is not becoming senile, how does he think we can do it!Wishful thinking if you ask me. OR unless,Nigeria bribe Angola will millions of dollars to loose their remaining matches-that is the only possibility.Babalawo no fit do this one! Anyway,as a patriotic Nigeria,I also have something in me that hopes we make it!What a disaster!!!All the NFA people should be sacked with immediate effect! |
Well since you did not say 'most memeorable day',it means we can mention more than one? One day I wont forget, was the day I got my admission letter into the University. I certainly wont forget the day I was told I had finally passed my last exam, and had become a doctor .Does anyone ever forget the first sexual experience!Even if it was bad?! Another memorable day,is the day one gets married, the day you your first child is born(especially after 5years of childless marriage). Recently, memorable event was to discover 'Nairaland website' The experience has indeed been wonderful. Seun don't ever think of resigning oh!(your journal). |
Gina A pleasure.HIV/AIDS is causing so much devastation, world over.Everyone should be aware of what it is,does, and how to avoid getting infected. Pity, that is has become politicized, and some view it from the economic point view. There are lots of articles on HIV,just read as many as you come across.Always ready to give further info as require.Cheers. |
Hi,It simply means that there are two types of HIV viruses causing infection-Type1 and type 2. Type 2 is common in West Africa- It takes longer before it shows, but once it apears, the disease is faster in killing than HIV 1 common in other parts of the world. They have other differences, but both cause AIDS. HIV is the virus, and it causes the condition called AIDS(Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). The body looses its ability to fight dseases(immunity),and patient suffers recurrent infections like diarrhoea, cough, skin infection etc.Hope this helps |
Seun, What was the govt's excuse for such an action.I guess they banned the importation, not use of the drugs!Angel,Chloroquine is no longer effective for malaria(caused by P.Falciparium),common in Nigeria, and most of Africa.New drugs, very expensive has been introduced-Combination of Fansidar and Artesunate. Most of the drugs on the list are important for everyday medical practice, but could be readily produced in Nigeria(govt thnking I believe).Banning them is an attempt to encourage local production. But will this work?! It would only lead to them being more expensive, and open the way for fake drugs-unless adequate measures are taken. Seun, you may have to give us an update of what the drug companies are saying about this!If they can produce HIV drugs, then these should not be a problem! |
Hot Angel what do you get?!Vexxy, sure about this?I guess if you use spiritual eyes,God's cretures are all beautiful..But with the physical eyes? There are a lot of ugly things out there(dont ask for examples!).....hhahahaha |
Hot-Angel-Thanks for the update.Lucky you!In the developing countries we still have lots of problems with the Networks. Normal phone calls are a problem!Wish I had access to your network! Tom Cruise-yes I saw the preview somewhere, but could not catch the show. |
HotAngel, thanks for the pics of my phone and others.Yours is a beauty too!But all those features? Is it the phone or your network!that provides the services?I guess we all have the phones we have, love it,but desire another.I have moved from Panasonic Gd97 to Gd95 to A100 and now X300.Next year,I'll move to the next one(I hope!). Wishing you a great day, loads of fun with your phones |
Phones eh! I have always loved Panasonic.Currently I am using the X300 camera phone(hotAngel-got the pics?).I love it for being sleek, light and attractive, especially when the slide opens up to reveal the lens.It then looks like a camcorder. What I dont like about it,is that I have been unable to get the transfer cable to transfer my pics and the video record time is too short, plus no audio. I look forward to buying the latest Panasonic camera phone, which is even smaller-cant remember the name now! |
Seun,Thanks for the assurance.Ah ah,am begining to feel good again to be a Nigerian! As a medic,I will certainly follow up! This should make the treatment of HIV much cheaper,if not free for many Nigerians. Please let's have more of such news. |
Hmmm..... Thank you guys and gals for all the good info.I tried to catch the events, but got increasingly disheartened,as I never saw niaja colours or names anywhere!! What happened to the long jumper(even though he represents Britain)?I forget his name.Quite young with lots of promise?! Yes,gone are the days when Nigeria was a respected name in sports!I am yet to recover from the shock that Angola may qualify over us for the world cup-where countries like Iran,Afghanistan?!and so many others in that category will play. Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do to salvage the situation. We know the causes! |
Wow! Great indeed. The way things have been going, I have begun to ask myself "can any thing good ever come out of [Nigeria]?" But wait oh! Na true this people dey talk?! ("what these people are saying is true?" It sounds so unbelievable! Someone tell me am not dreaming! ![]() |

I picked up one a month ago,for about 90 usd,and I have no regrets. I sure will love to have it in niaja. More Details biko, ejo, don Allah ![]() |
