CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: ANAMBRA STATE POLITICAL APPOINTMENTS

The Anambra State Governorship election was successfully conducted in November 2021 and a new administration will assume office on the 17th March 2022.

A Transition Committee mandated to ensure a seamless transition will among other things; produce an Anambra State Human Resource Databank, which the Governor-Elect will use as a Human Resources tool for recruiting a talented team and volunteers.

As stated in his Manifesto and repeated during his election campaigns, the Governor-Elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has committed to giving everyone who has requisite competencies, capabilities, and relevant valuable contributions to make toward the good governance of Anambra State an opportunity to do so.

Therefore, to enable an accessible, open, credible, and competitive process, the Governor-Elect has approved the launch of the online system to collect information on available competencies, experiences, and interests through a platform www.anambratalent.ng.

This platform is designed for indigenes of Anambra to “Express Interest” in volunteering or seeking a political appointment or career in paid public service positions. This Human Resources tool offers a transparent and level playing field for talent search and team selection processes consistent with the vision of the Governor-Elect.

We are delighted to publish this widely anticipated announcement of the public call for Expression of Interest from individuals who are interested in serving the people of Anambra State.

We hope to attract problem-solvers with passion, competence, capacity, and integrity who are interested in joining a team of other selfless public servants to build a livable and prosperous state.

The positions available range from advisory services, technical assistance, executive positions as commissioners and heads of departments and agencies, membership of commissions and boards of parastatals and agencies; local government administration; etc. (please refer to the current list of ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) of Anambra State, as well as the Manifesto of the Governor-Elect).

Please write and upload a Value Proposition that shows what problem(s) you would like to solve for Anambra, how you intend to do so, and what makes you the fit and proper person to do so on www.anambratalent.ng or send it to Talent@anambratalents.ng no later than February 28, 2022.

[s]Now, I totally agree that you deliberately give deceptive advice. How many open air concerts have you seen in Nigeria even in Lagos or Abuja? How many hotels in Awka are of Agulu Lake standard to accommodate10,000 guests? The Awka International convention center was designed with a foyer front area with sitting capacity of 2,000 guests for outdoor events. So why use the area mapped out for a 4 -5 star hotel for another "outdoor" event area when we know such will rarely happen if ever. Typical outdoor events in Nigeria are church crusades that typically occurs in their prayer mountains , open school soccer fields/playground or in community squares etc.

Moreover, the best hotels in Awka which are the new Bon Hotel, Maxbe, Geneva hotel, parktonian and Geogold hotels cannot compare to the Agulu Lake hotel in style and comfort of a well built hotel. Their combined capacity can barely accomodate 950 guests not to nention 10,000.

The Awka International Conference Center deserves a stand-alone 4 star hotel whose staff would also maintain the edifice as part of the hotel [/s]complex.

I used sentinel to go around the boundaries and got 102.64 sq km. That means approx. 10,264 hectares!

Unfortunately with sentinel if you zoom out it changes from satellite imagery into an opaque map. Although Sentinel is not a very recent map. But, I will try and get a clearer map. But it is obvious that even by the most stringent assessment, the area already showing with roads are more than 80 sq km.

(Maybe someone should fill me in)....it seems there was an empowerment of a million wheelbarrows and tricycles in Awka. I am still worried seeing how young kids of about 10,11 years old are now pushing wheelbarrows all over Awka especially the ekeawka axis...this is mad!
Heading to Nibo today to see grandma and decided to get some drinks around Ekeawka axis...couldn't even find a space,na so so wheelbarrow full everywhere...the number of tricycles plying the axis too seems more than the dwellers of Awka. Cheii!


ndi investors need to rapidly start investing to reduce all these. Good that Raddopin,Everyday supermarkets etc have all established to provide employment to the teeming youth, which will drastically reduce these challenges. Also talking about the good sides, at least some children hawking items on the streets wont be looking forward to owning wheelbarrows...rather they'd looking forward to being gainfully employed in these big malls either as cashiers,security,attendants,janitors etc.

Honestly,The growing number of wheelbarrow pushers and Keke riders in the capital is quite alarming.
