PoliticsRe: President Tinubu Meets With Falana In Aso Rock Over Subsidy Removal, Economy by Acidosis(m): 5:33pm On Jun 05, 2023
A party that sold presidential ticket at the rate of N100 million to 17 politicians is telling Nigeria to endure the pains of subsidy removal because the country is too broke.

Cost of nomination form in APC = N100 million
Cost of nomination form in America's major parties = approximately N26 million

17 people conveniently paid for nomination forms in APC, including people who couldn't secure 1 vote at the primary election. But yeah, the country is broke. Lets remove subsidy so those who would never make 100 million up to their 10th generation can pay a price for a "new Nigeria."

The ordinary Nigerian has been paying the price of bad roads, unstable electricity, zero water supply, etc. etc., but yeah, subsidy is the new price you have to pay for your f.oolishness. A country where Goats were buying presidential nomination forms for N100 million (like pure water), they somehow managed to convince you that you are the problem. grin grin

I support a systematic abi na systemic removal of subsidy but not under a BAT and James Ibori presidency.

The question is was it sufficiently implemented?
Increasing the minimum wage is not the problem but implementation both in the government and private sector
The implementation is poor because the idea is dum.b. It is not possible to fix a poor economy by raising the minimum wage.

I would prefer if you maintain my current salary while finding effective ways to lower the cost of goods/services, rather than increasing my salary without addressing underlying economic issues. By choosing the latter option, market forces will inevitably do what they do best, making the old and the new salary as well as the economy essentially worthless.

That is the modus operandi of morally depraved children of perdition. They shower you with praise despite being fully aware of your absolute and utter failure until they have little or nothing else to gain from you.

Basalt:
Very simple. Increase the price of your product.
In Germany, when minimum wage is increased, even the private sectors must comply with the new increment or face the heavy wrath of the government.
Increase minimum wage and price of products? Sounds like a dum.b idea -- like pouring water in a basket.

The last increment in minimum wage from N18,000 to N30,000 made people poorer.

Just increase minimum wage and remove the God forsaken subsidy for ever.
Increase minimum wage of 2.12 million public workers (federal, state and local government workers)??

What should happen to private sector employers who are already struggling with fuel increment? Assume you're an employer, how are you going to manage the double burden of fuel increment and salary increment?
TravelRe: Subsidy: FCT To Develop Lanes As FRSC Wants Nigerians To Embrace Bicycles by Acidosis(m): 5:09am On Jun 05, 2023
Cyberterror:
There are many ways of government easing the pain of subsidy removal aka palliatives. The government doesn't necessarily have to spend money to do this. The federal government can cut import duties by 50% for the next one year only. They can also cut excise duties for local manufacturing firms at the same rate and for the same duration. The states and local governments on their own part can stop collecting ticket revenues and daily levies from keke and bus operators in exchange for keeping transport prices at pre-removal rates for the next six months. Traders in their various markets can get similar reliefs.

But no matter the strategy that government adopts, petrol subsidy must never be reinstated no matter the pressure by enemies of Nigeria led by the NLC that are remote controlled by the defeated labour party.
You have these fantastic ideas. The people you elected can't see these brilliant ideas of yours (because you're obviously more intelligent than a 90 year old man) yet you believe the NLC is the enemy of Nigeria, and not the daft crooks who can't see your brilliant ideas??

While I don't doubt your intellectual prowess, something is still wrong somewhere. Tribalism??
PoliticsRe: Apologise To Jonathan, Okonjo-Iweala - Peterside To 2012 Subsidy Removal Critics by Acidosis(m):
I just dey pity Nigerians.

Subsidy was removed so Dangote and his group of political shareholders can compete favourably in the market.

They gave (loan) Dangote billions of your Fx to complete his refinery so subsidy removal can take effect but they could not channel those billions to fix electricity before subsidy removal.

You people will hate yourselves if after 8 years of subsidy removal, you still can't boast of steady and stable electricity. That's when you'll discover that you have been scammed again. But that won't stop some people from voting James Ibori as the next president from the South.

PrimadonnaO:
10k hygiene maintenance isn't a lot.

How can he possibly use one deodorant for months?

Last I checked, a deodorant spray is an average of 2k.

Body spray- 3500

Toothpaste - 1000

Irish Spring for the month - 1000

Beard & pubic grooming- 3k

And whatever else I may have omitted.
I imagined that a body spray priced at 3,500+/- should last for a minimum of two months for someone with a dedicated home office. I assumed he spends most of his time working at home.

I use Irish Spring. While I'm uncertain about the current price, the 3-in-1 pack used to cost less than 1,800 (I understand there are different kinds and varieties). 1 bar should last for approximately one month.

I also imagined that a single guy should be able to use a large tube of toothpaste for well over 4 weeks. Closeup fans like me still get 1 large tube for N500-600.

Considering the cost of beard and hair grooming, the 10k might be justified. Initially, I didn't take that into account.

PoliticsRe: See One Of The Result Sheets For Sokoto That Was Taken To The Court by Acidosis(m): 5:16pm On Jun 02, 2023
Peter Obi obviously won the last election. What other evidence do Nigerians need to affirm this glaring fact? The day Tinubu was announced and selected to rule Nigeria, the entire atmosphere turned bleak. No celebration, no joy anywhere. Individuals that would typically celebrate an APC victory preferred Osibanjo and Amaechi. Tinubu was never an option so they all shifted their focus to Labour Party.

We all are online witnesses to the mood at Alex Otti's inauguration. We all are witnesses to the events that followed Osinbajo's declaration for presidency, both online and offline.

Justice may be delayed and even denied but history will remain. The same Peter Obi that cleared nearly 60% of the total votes in Abuja, making it impossible for his opponents to attain the mandatory 25% benchmark could never have failed woefully in many northern and middle belt states.

He would be out in a couple of years to contest for presidency and "ronu" people will stand by him.

For a man that built Oduduwa University and Ife Polytechnic with "blood and organ harvesting money", it would be very easy for his "fan boys" to sell him to the masses as the new messiah.
