07kjb:So what's good about OP's relationship with her sister? @OP, it is a difficult situation. Your relationship will never be the same again with your sister if you go ahead to involve your friend. You also have to consider your friend's stability. Is she married? Is she opened to relocation? What happens if and when she decides to relocate? You'll take your kids back to your sister? My advice is to hasten your kids' travel arrangement. What exactly is the issue? You have been sending home some money...so what's the issue? |
Are we talking about people who watch football because of peer pressure? Majority don't have a mind of their own tbh. They are the type that get influenced easily by Twitter trends. You have the entire line up of Arsenal (1994) team in your head but the name of your local government chairman, you don't know. The name of the Sports Minister in your country, you don't know. Yet you think you're better... @OP, you have to realize that people's got different interests and it has zero link with intelligence. |
Melap:Extremely stup!D. |
etrouble:Of course, he wouldn't want his parents to rule Nigeria. ![]() Its cool if you want to outsource your future to a shaky shaky grandpa but don't recruit others with your propaganda. |
TheNiceGuy:It is better to have a programmed lying China machine than a shaky-shaky drug trafficker and thief who lies about everything, including his name, age, and state-of-origin. |
This election might turn out as the most competitive ever... |
Connected1:Exactly. HMO, insurance premium, and stuff like that don't entice the average Nigerian hustler. |
Oduduwa707:Let's be realistic when we market this "free health care" as a basis for Nigerians to move to certain countries. I know people who haven't used a single tablet in 10 years despite the harsh environment in Nigeria. I don't think the typical Nigerian hustler cares about all that. Frustration sets in when the expectation (money) does not match the reality. For example, the average Nigerian is not used to paying taxes. Many circumvent electricity bill, etc. so they get really frustrated when they realize that 20-30% of the money they worked for goes to a system (they probably wouldn't use). I believe an individual should try and attain a certain level of comfort before relocating on the basis of free or standard healthcare. What some people need is good money. These are people who haven't been to a hospital for any major treatment in 15 years. All they need is a good job, money, and more money. |
The problem is unrealistic expectation. |
NoToPile:Hmmn... She needs all the conviction to marry that man so don't expect her to spell it all out. Why do you think she raised the PDA issue twice in one post? In her words "I don't feel proud...about the PDA". What does that tells you? ![]() Also, she mentioned things beyond the height. According to her, the man has a really small body (probably smaller than El Rufai's or Prof Osibanjo's body). These are signs of irritation. She never mentioned she is short but she emphasized the height twice as well ![]() According to her "I'm taller even though I'm not a tall person". This is just another description of the word "short" According to her "I'm dark but he's darker." This is a way of saying I'm attracted to light skin and a darker skin upsets me. You have to read the unwritten in her post to understand more about her plight. I'm not advising against the marriage by the way. But the whole idea of giving her hope is baseless if such hope cannot work during their dating phase. |
It's funny how you think marrying him will change your feeling towards him. Do not allow anyone deceive you. That miracle you're waiting for in marriage can also be seen while you're dating. So keep dating him until you see that miracle. If you do not see it while you're dating, then simply zero your mind. This love or feelings talk is better exercised and experienced now that you're dating. Marriage is composed of more serious issues. Marriage is where even c.razy love birds transfer their attention to kids due to stress. So I wonder how you want to cope. The dicey part of love is that you can't even feel loved by a person you don't love. There is no such thing as I feel loved by him but I don't love him. How can you feel loved by someone that typically upsets you? ![]() For a man you despise his physical attributes, you will rarely want to put up your pictures together on social media, you will hate to be seen together in public, if he transfers his gene to his kids, you might end up hating him (not the kids). Of course, the money will be your only consolation and like people say, it is better to cry in a private jet than smile in trenches So the decision is up to you.Sorry I didn't post what you wish to read. I'm a realist and my best advice is to keep dating him. The marriage talk should be buried for now. |
Pride. Ego. |
Just look at these lunatics. A known boko haram sympathiser wants to handle security while a renowned thief wants to handle the economy. |
I guess you've lived in one or some of these socialist countries where government controls everything, including the school your child must attend and the type of residence you can live We have too much freedom in Nigeria (due to failure of the three tiers of government) and people get to misuse and abuse their freedom.Remember that these guys organized themselves, constructed the road, fixed their water system, and some go as far as buying transformers. There is no way you can convince them that the road within the gated estate belongs to "everybody" and "nobody." Even the government does not have that moral right. |
Very good..! |
worried222:The way some leaders have abused tithes and offerings is why some Christians don't pay tithe. If I am convinced that my tithe is being misused, then I have the right to withdraw. I don't know the church you attend but mine operates an open book. Every member is expected to attend an annual general meeting where everything is laid out. I know my church's income and expenditure for 2021. Every member knows the pastor's monthly allowance (which by the way, is less than 5% of his salary from his secular job). You don't have to be an insider to know all this 'cos every member is entitled to yearly annual report. He is not the sole signatory to the church account and every kobo is accounted for. When a pastor decides to hide the church's earnings from you (a body of Christ), then members are equally in their rights to hide their money. So yes, it is OK to stop emphasizing tithes because the system is already messed up. Giving is not a spiritual or supernatural exercise, that is why people get blessed without necessarily being a Christian. It is simply based on divine principle - the principle of give and take. If you give the earth (soil) seeds, you get fruits so long as you deploy the relevant elements like water and carbon (IV) oxide, which have been divinely provided since creation. |
worried222:I believe that tithing is 100% "biblical" as it is not a sin to give 10% or even more to your church - a place you go at least weekly to pray, listen to the word, and worship with other like minds. As a matter of fact, I believe that "well-to-do" Christians who go to church but refuse to honour the church with their substance are insan.e. The chairs, the building, and everything in that worship house cost money. People use their time and money to clean the church, some go there everyday to rehearse the songs we vibe to, and other maintenance services. Some hire instrumentalists, sound engineers, and all that so it's only ethical and sensible to honour the Church with your substance. That is one aspect of giving in church as a Christian. After all, some of us buy nonsense afrobeat albums or tracks on iTunes for N1500. The other aspect of Church giving is based on personal conviction or your covenant with your maker, not compulsion as you are doing on this thread. Tithe and related forms of giving in church (e.g., seeds) should and MUST be based on people's personal convictions. Focus on the most important Christian virtues, especially when you're on a public forum that comprises many faiths and atheists. You will do more harm than good with your tithe sermons. |
Mindlog:You dey mind the affiliate marketing "scammers"? |
Traffic offence or expired papers? |
Dagger111:Chief Urchin, It's time for your daily recitation. Please say after me... ![]() emi lokan, emi-lokan Baba wey no well, e dey shout emi-lokan |
Dagger111:You have always been a corrupt thief. Corruption is the only thing that keeps you sane so I'm not surprised |
This is what you get in a poorly developed country where leaders travel around the world for political meetings and organ harvesting at a time when Forex - the value of the Naira - is at an all time low. How many road traffic offenders can you possibly arrest with your archaic 20 naira "olopa" system?? Why don't you have cameras stationed everywhere? Simply capture the young man's plate number and send him is bill via SMS or email (viz FRSC database). If he fails to pay his fine in 15 days, publish his name as a traffic offender and block all his payment channels and bank (via NIN and BVN database). If he fails again to pay in 60 days, then publish his details on a national employment database that will ensure he never gets a job/contract in Nigeria. This is what it means to have an effective structure in place. However, with the likes of PDP and APC and mentally deranged animals like Wike, Atiku, Buhari, and Tinubu, it will never happen. |
Zonefree:LMAO Calm down |
cococandy: ![]() |
Staged nonsense. All na to promote Buju's album. |
Blessedmercy8:Are you okay? This man is 76. How else do you want him to look? If and when you decide to marry a man that is 10 or 20 years older than you are, then you should be sensible enough to prepare your mind. |
guobe:In my university? Private or public? |
N150,000 per child is not too much. That's roughly N50,000 per month to teach your child. If you cannot afford it, then take your child to a government school. |
Magnoliaa:4 and counting ![]() People are going through a whole lot sha. Emotions are high ![]() |
Sirqt5:LMAO ![]() |
Ovieemmanuel:They already know, bro. You can't force anyone to marry a 100k salary earner. Some people are used to a certain standard of life. Others want something better. |
cococandy:I understand perfectly well. Everybody will be alright ![]() |
