Okiki_Oluwa: Househelp.Ah! Ah!! You wan kill person pikin? Ona lo jin oh! Eru ma ni baba. Esha ye jeje oh nitori ola. Toba je iwo lo ni oni, lo opo e ko dara, olomi na bo ti o ni ola. The is distance that is far, the slave also has a father. Take life easy because no one knows tomorrow. If you are in a position today, make good use of it because surely somebody else will take over from you tomorrow. |
amedu sikira bl: 2baba go fade jare,by d time children wahala start he no go dey after music again.buh wiz kid, bovi, and ice still remainsPikin or no pikin 2baba get talent. No forget say na just make him send money to him different baby mamas (known and unknown) for the children's upkeep and na the women go dey do wahala of pikin. Don't forget as at 2baba's last album, he had 7 legal children (and God knows how many illegal ones). |
steph7: Then he should tell them he is marrying a wife because he loves her, not because he wants someone to do chores. Now let me pass the question to you, which of the items can you do without in your home as a married woman? |
alutacontinua: I know...i'm just trying to say when you get married, don't listen to such talks. You're allowed now...there's more to house-chores than all those items you listed up there. But if you look at it critically, those items if gotten in a home will reduce the house chores drastically a woman needs to go through. I.E Washing machine does the laundary, all she has to do is to spread the cloths (her artificial nails remain instact) Yam pounder saves her a whole lot of energy and time. Yeah! There are things like cooking, arranging the house and the rest to let's be honest, those items will reduce the house chores to an extent. |
alutacontinua: A married manIf you go through that post again, you will discover such talks were said to a bachelor and not a married man. |
Justosaus: maybe househelp, dishwasher. But for me however, yam pounder is definitely a necessity!.....#bini manBros, it is more than a necessity oh! I used to feel so sorry for my mum those days she pounded for me (she knows I love my pounded yam). All through my years of dating, I have met only ONE lady that accepted and even begs to pound for me. Now with my pounding machine, nobody dey hold me to ransome again oh! |
greatgod2012: as for me, i wil appreciate......I so much appreciate your contribution. What about if a bachelor has all on that least except the first and last (House help and dish washer) and then his friends come over for lunch on a weekend and starts yabbing him that if he has all these items in his home then what house chore does he expect his wife to do aside sitting down and watching tv all day long. By the way, nothing compares to the Original Pounded Yam oh! Don't forget all those Yam Flour contains chemicals and preservatives which can be harmful to the body. |
Cold blooded: it depends on the number of people in the family but I think a dish washer might be considered a luxury for me.What about if we are looking at from a newly wedded couple (husband and wife only) to maximum of 3 children (husband, wife and 3 kids). |
Hello my fellow Nigerian / African brothers. There's something I will like us to discuss but in other not to waste too much of your time let me just ask the question straight away : Which of the following Items to you consider as a LUXURY to provide for your wife to help out in the chores in the house? House Help Washing Machine Vacuum Cleaner Yam Pounder Dish Washer Let's be very honest. I will share the reason why I asked this question in a short while. |
albacete:My reason for starting this thread is to help these celebrities plan their lives and see what their so called fans (real and fake) think about their careers in 5years time. So many of them live extremely fake lifestyles and spend all the earnings they are making today to achieve one "bigger than heaven" status. A lot of them have just forgotten they were nobody 5years ago and there's no guarantee of them being "relevant" 5years to come. |
albacete: What is there to say again, u've said it all.Abi nah! Almost 170million people can't all be wrong. |
^^^ You are right but the questions is, will they still be relevant and famous in 5years to come? Do you see mikel obi still playing for Chelsea or any other top club in 5years time? This isn't about how popular they are now but rather at the impact the will be dishing out in the near future. |
Scarpon: seriously dude ?? give me namesBad boy. Google and you will find them. |
^^^ I like the way you broke it down and gave your thoughts. I intentionally did not add those who have passed away because of unnecessary controversy. Fela lives forever. |
omartins: SEUN OSEWA(Nairaland). People get to know the site day by day. As soon as he his alive and healthy, he'll got more popular without fading.Won't say much (the truth) because they don't wanna hear. But I think the forum shouls grow beyond Seun, its time for it to be run as an enterprise, but with the kind of immature and relevant threads promoted, I doubt if serious minded institutions/corporate bodies will want to stick their fingers in here. |
alaoeri: I disagree with your views on Dbanj, seriously the dude is more of a business man than musician, flash back to his album lunch 2008 both Tinubu & Fashola were present, his last year Koko concert u 'll be surprise with the calibre of top elites present at the show, he also got partnership with GTB/ndani tv. Now he pitches his tent with the likes of Naeto C, Ikechukwu, Davido, Olamide, Samklef etc at worst he 'll do a remix with the rave of the moment to remain relevant. Just of recent wizkid tweets about a song already done with Dbanj, he got the packaging Nigerians want & plays his game tight. After the post Mohit's bruhaha some don't even give him more than 6mnths to fade but yet he's still relevant. On the 5th of next month his having a show in Houston featuring the likes of Olamide, Sinzu, Ikechukwu, Naeto C etc likewise June 23rd he's bringing in 2chainz to Nigeria that 'll be at Eko hotels. So the Dbanj is more of a businessman than musician & if he continues like this, the dude 'll last afterall he's gonna celebrate his ten years on stage next year.I think this is more of a publicity stunt and image boosting than actually telling us how D Banj will stay relevant in the industry in the next 5years. From your explanation D Banj needs to tag along and associate himself by doing singles with reigning acts right? To me that sounds like a man struggling hard to avoid drowning in deep waters. 2baba boost people's singles and albums by featuring in their song and not the other way round. I can remember 9ice's last album featured the who-is-who in Nigeria music but yet the album was worse than a tsunami. As much as D Banj is a business man not doubt, the earlier he invest in music production, promotion and management the better for him because has a musician, I doubt if he will be relevant for even a single show if he doesn't play any of his old tracks (from Oliver twist downwards - all songs produced by Month'hit records). |
albacete: Mr Acid, u sef know naa na why u put im name for top.2baba is not only Talented, he is also BLESSED. He has reigned the most amongst all musicians of his generation and generation before his, 10years in the industry and still the most loved, na Only God fit do that one oh! Even with the various baby mamas controversy that trailed him people still love him so dearly and the media over hyping him has even helped his career tremendiously. Which other musician aside 2face that will boast of having the support and love of Senators, Governors and top government officials? The likes of D Banj, Onyeka Onwenu and others are only used and dumped during political elections and campaigns. But 2face is always given attention doing sad and happy moments of his life. See when he had that armed robbery attack and then his wedding. Truly, "Who God has Blessed no man can curse". |
nekaa: Basket mouth, Linda ikeji, iyanyaAs for Basket mouth and Linda maybe they would. But I seriously doubt the like of Iyanya. Faze, Tony Tetuilla, Eedris Abdulkarim, Olu maintain, Azadus all came out with better hits than his in the last 10years but all faded in no time. |
onila: genevieve off courseOnila love, its been ages. Do you think Genevieve will still remain relevant? I don't watch naija movies or listen to lots of their songs, but from my little observation it appears some new generation blood have taken roles meant for genny and omosexy. Please correct me if I am wrong. |
sagytarius™:So you dey try talk say na Seun, Mukina and the Moderators dey help Tonto Dike career? So that means to say if nairaland go offline for few weeks, tonto career don kpai be that. |
Manweysabi: It's 2face to me... the guy is unbeatable, makes music that makes sense, evergreen.Maybe just maybe that's why my instinct put him on the top list. But truth be told, he will find is really tough coping to be relevant by then oh! He will be termed "old school" musiciand because the youths then won't value and appreciate his "meaningful and moral upright" kind of music. Then all you will be hearing is bo*om this the b*oobies that's. |
Hope you will be writing tomorrow's JAMB? |
WHY STEAL MY THREAD WITHOUT GIVING ACKOWLEDGEMENT TO THE ORIGINATOR? If I see a single line from any thread I created on nairaland I will know because the inspiration to the writeup comes from within. |
tinuolababy: OmotolaOmotola in 5years time will be like Ukera (African Sharon) today. |
Scarpon: along as Cossy still gat those bo@bs fresh and milky she will beHaven't you noticed some wanna be celebs with bigger b*oobs springing up these days and dressing skimpily? They are all out to take Cossy's place. |
Acidtalk don land again oh! Person wey get ear make him hear word. Now who are these little minds spewing crap abour GEJ and Ameachi? Those two crooks should shoot themselves in the skull for all I care. To those of you saying, the Jet is for Rivers State and not ameachi, care any citizen of Rivers State attempt to move several miles close to the jet not to even talk to boarding it (even if they offer to pay). Isn't it Only Ameachi and his criminal aides that are galivanting all over the airspace with the private jet? What name did Amechi use to buy the Jet? If he used Rivers State Government name, then he should throw it open either for Commercial or Charther use. As For GEJ, the son of a poverty stricken Fisherman from Otueke, I don't have his time now. 2 foools fighting for a seat meant for 2years time not knowing if God will spare their lives to see the next 2 months. Vanity! Greed!! Wickedness!!! |
This thread wasn't started to talk negative or wish anyone ill-luck in their career (becauise I know some people will think so myopic towards that line). But instead it is more of trying to help some of them (who have ears) remain relevant. So many of our entertainers are just after the money and not to give any positive value to the generation upcoming. That's is why you find out most of them sing very immoral songs (acting and comedy) because they know that is what the youths want to see and hear. Most of them do not even value their fans because they feel they are so rich now, loosing a fan or several fans won't affect their bank account. |
We all know celebrities of all facet of life (Actor, Models, Singers, Sport Icons, Comedians, Magicians and Journalist) always have a career lisfe span of between several months to about 15years of reign and popularity. Only very few people have ever been lucky to have crossed that 15years span of relevance in their industry. People like Michael Jackson, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Eddie Murphy, Luther Vandross, Kenny G, David Beckam, Madonna, Oprah Wilfrey and a few others crossed that number of years of being popular. In Nigeria, we once had great stars (too numerous to mention) like Onyeka Onwenu, King Sunny Ade, Christy Essien Igbokwe, Blackky, Orits Wilikie, Ras Kimono, Daddy Showkey, Jayjay Okocha,Madam Kofo, Chief Zebudayah, Oliver De Coke, Sunny Okosun, Daniel Amokachi, Ebenezer Obey, Dan Maraya Jos, Felix Liberty, Segun Odegbami, Liz Benson, Mary Oyanlie, Lagbaja, Regina Askia, Alli Baba, Junior and Pretty and so many others. When these people reigned, they were superstars and their fans never imagined anyone else will ever come and take their place. Some of them reigned for a few months while lasted several years. Even though some of them are still in the limelight, they have definitely been sidelined by the younger generation of celebrities. In your own opinion, in no particular order which current celebrity(ies) do you think will still have an impact in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry in the next 5years? 2face Idibia AY (comedian) P Square D Banj Mikel Obi Wiz Kid Bovi (Comedian) Cossy Ojiakwo Ice Prince Omotola Basket Mouth Davido May D Tonto Dike Tiwa Savage Don Jazzy Timaya Genevieve Iyanya Linda Ikeji (Blogger) Nairaland (Seun). Note : The last two were on that list to see ask the same question if you foresee their blog and forum still being relevant in the next 5years. Please feel free to add your own list of celebrities you forsee still being relevant in the entertainment circle in the next 5years and if possible the reason why you think so. |
biolabee: thats sad.. na waThe saddest thing is no one fights for the consumers in this country. |
chris.a:Sir, aside your children's school fees that should be unquestionable, I think you should be able to be frugal on every other aspect of your spending. A few questions sir: What is the 200k saving for? Does you wife have any business doing aside being a student? If she doesn't please I suggest you setup a business for her. Don't rush on building you house over night. Have a target for it. Say between 2-5 years. Put at least N50,000 on the housing project every month and you will be amazed at the level the house will be at the end of each year (that's about N600,000). Secure the other lands legally and please don't try to develop both properties at the same time. Take them one step after the other. How important are the other 2 insurance policies? Look at it critically, if they aren't so much of important than I suggest a hold on them. Isurance companies bring out all sort of plans just to remain in business and pay staff salary every month and make profit, most of them aren't of utmost importance and urgency. With your 445k salary, a wife and 2 kids I think putting away 250-300k as savings and investment plans is feasible and you still live comfortable well on 150k as expenses per month (you think it isn't possible?). Just pretend. Your entire salary and allowance is 150k and as such you want to live within that amount, you will be amazed how you will discover you have been operating on a somewhat wasteful budget in the past. All the best sir. |
Nosyke: @Acidtalk, I don't know how to thank you for this masterpiece. This is just coming at exactly the right time. Once again, God bless you!!Just send one bottle of henessy, nkwobi and an okpeke down to my hotel room (paid by you) and you have said all the thank you in the world. Just jokinh. I am more than. Delighted when I see that people get to learn and appreciate the knowledge God Almighty has bestowed on me. I am so happy you got to learn one or two things. |
Tonex: Fair enough. I always watch on the sidelines on nairaland, but I have found most of your threads to be very sensible and practical. I like your way of thinking as it is somewhat similar to mine in many aspectsI am honored and delighted sir to know I think like a genuis like you. As for the threads, I think deep a lot and enjoy my company so that has really given me the opportunity to have extremely deep and wide thoughts. I also like impacting positively to people's wellbeing. |
