Me_Aboki: Kai, see how some people are enjoying oo: To best of my knowledge no area in my state (Kano) enjoys 18 hours of power; in consequence most of our factories and industries have been forced to close down. In my area (also in the G.R.A.)we are lucky to have 1-3 hours every two other days or so, our light bulbs serve only as decorations but for the few of us who can still afford fuel for our generators, in fact my car boot is perpetually laden-ed with fuel jerrycans.

So this is how you people in the South have all along been enjoying our Kainji generated power from the North; while we in the North are being kept in almost total darkness - and yet, you are still complaining, na wa oo shocked shocked.
Well, enjoy it while you can (anyway, na una broda dey Aso Rock); but soon we too will have to start our own campaign for resource control (yes,50%) so make una dey ready to pay more for future Northern generated electricity cheesy grin
No probs bro, cool remeber that we have the option of coal(remember Coal City) and hydro(remember that river Niger flows through our region too). Besides we have a sizeable deposits of natural gas in some southeastern states. So we can easily switch source. grin

Don't shout marginalisation yet because it's only some parts of Enugu that enjoys that prolonged hour of power supply. It's a diffrent story in some other parts. Moreover the power situation is very bad in southeast in general. If you doubt me, seek for the opinion of Onitsha, Aba or Umuahia residents

Must you always say something just to make yourselve feel better, even when goats and cows knows that you are talking jargons and gibberish. The only Fed uni comparable to the great Ziks University (NAU) in the entire east is only UNN.

Infact its amazing the level of academic and infrastructural development in that citadel UNIZIK within a short time. You can't even begin to mention the likes FUTO and so on, alongside NAU and UNN, its an insult to the pschye of the people of this great country. Apart from federal grants, Anambrans are pumping personal funds into the university in making it a world class. Anambrans as Ekwueme, Soludo, Andy Uba, Coscharis, Oby Okoli of Emzor, Juhel pharm, May & Baker, Emeka Offor are some of the numerous Anambrans that sunk their millions into UNIZIK. Its not a child's play at the level of development in the school.

At best FUTO can be compared to Federal Poly Oko, Fed Poly Bida, ofcos you need to go to Fed Poly Oko to be able to appreciate what is on the ground. As for ANSU, its a purely new university, which from all indications, are building their massive perm site at Igbariam near the Refinery site in Anambra.
http://www.anambrastate.gov.ng/press-release.html

In all this your braggadacio atitude of yours, you never mentioned your own state university to prove some points. Till today your state does not have a state nor federal university/teaching hospital just like Anambra and Enugu respectively.

Boy, I will always advise that you get your info correctly before you unleash garbage in the name of contributing to NL.

It's such boasting that makes other Igbo people(Abagworo) to attack Anambra. While i think the people that Anambra state has produced are the very best in the country, i also think it's an insult to say that they're better than other south-eastern states put together. Let's learn to show respect so that it will be reciprocated.

My area in GRA used to have light for 18hrs of the day. But since the Kainji dam issues came up, it has dropped to 8hrs of the day. The most painful one is the prolonged power outage in the night. Especially now that the weather is so hot. It's been a regular occurence for 1week running.

Ejiné: this is a state that doesn't even have an airport; doesn't even have a reputable state university (ANSU is a freaking midget when compared to ABSU); doesn't even have a reputable federal university (UniZik is an artisan kiosk when pitted against Imo's FUTO or Enugu's UNN); this is a state that ranks to nothing when it comes to Polytechnics (Imo's Poly Nekede scatters it);

PoliticsRe: Owerri Vs Port Harcourt: Which Is More Developed And Planned? by ACM10: 11:07am On Mar 19, 2012
Okija_juju: BULLSHIT!!

City Planning ; Lets start from Borokiri in Port-Harcourt, to Old-Gra (emphasis on Old), to D-line, to Odili road Trans-Amadi to Forces Avenue. These places are PORT-HARCOURT technically speaking and Owerri dosent even come close when compared directly to "PORT_HARCOURT" (not Obio-Apko). EVEN Diobu (Mile 3/Mile 1) is planned. .

Decorum: Another useless talk. Orderliness is relative to population density. Compare a city like Paris (which I lived in for over 4 years) and a City like New York (which I lived in for 8 months) and you can see the difference in decorum. Lets bring it home. Compare Lagos and Kano city in terms of decorum and lets see what you get. The bigger a cities population, the harder it is to control and regulate. Port-harcourt may be mad, but it is nowhere near Lagos. Owerri may be saner, but its only because Owerri's population isnt even up to 3 quarters of Obio Apko local government area alone, talk of the entire port-harcourt. If places were switched, Owerri would not last a week under the pressures port-harcourt has to deal with.

Advancement: NIGGA are you shitting me right now?! Now let me school you son, Owerri is a student town. The highest employer of labour is Government. The rest of the town is filled with petty traders. Owerri is so backwards that despite the fact that they are an Oil producing state (irrespective of how ridiculously small the oil might be), there isnt a single oil company in the freaking state ( not just Owerri). Presently, Port-Harcourt has started making most of the drainages on their roads underground, Owerri is yet to embrace the concept of open pit gutters sef. How many fly-overs does Owerri have to boast of?! (Using fly-overs as a yardstick to measure how advanced a city has come to dealing with traffic congestion to ease the flow of traffic). . . Moving forward, how many manufacturing companies does Owerri have?! Scratch that, Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport got its highest airplane traffic when Port-Harcourt International was closed down for rehabilitation in 2007 and even then, no international flight would land there. Still on advancement, Port-harcourt has started sinking Billions of dollars into a monorail system to help decongest traffic, Owerri is yet to even have ground moving train tracks let alone think of a monorail. Port-Harcourt has so Advanced and grown from its colonial days that it has fully engulfed over 3 local government areas outside of Port-Harcourt, what is Owerris actual span?! I heard people talk about hotels and I laugh, is it those 10,000 - 25,000 Naira per night hotels that you are bragging about?! ONCE MORE MY NIGGA GIVE ME A BREAK!! Lets start from the oldest Hotel in Port-Harcourt "PRESIDENTIAL HOTEL" and work our way up. . . . to the Le Meridians, Proteas, Novotels, Golden Tulips and the list goes on . . . If those things littered around Owerri is what you refer to as "5 STAR", then the Hotels in Port-Harcourt are the Burj Al-Arab. Speaking of Advancement, How do you talk shi't about a state that has Two refineries with more being built as we speak, Three functional independent gas power plants, a sea port, an International Airport that actually hosts international flights on a daily basis, multi-national companies and hotel and businesses and the list goes on and then try to compare it to Owerri?! In what way biko?! How?!

Aba Road issue: Without a doubt most businesses are centered around Aba Road as it should be. Reasons being its a major road, ease of access and all, but for you to say take out Aba road and Port-Harcourt is dead shows that you know nothing about Port-harcourt. Lets now take a census of the MAJOR businesses on Aba road; A few banks, NDDC H/Q, Presidential Hotel, Happy Bites confectioneries, Intels Camp, Protea Hotel, Oil Mill Market, and thats about it. . . I'm sure these are not the businesses holding port-Harcourt up, If you had said Trans-Amadi, then you may have been up to something. If you used Aba Road in terms of major road, then again you would be right but only for a little period. . As we speak, we have Airforce road which is a multicarriage way, East-west road which is being expanded to a 6-lane highway, Stadium road and even old-Aba road. . . INFACT, you can move around port-harcourt without even getting onto Aba road for more than a few kilometers. . . Everything is centered around Aba road only to a JJC. .

CHOBA is Obio Apko not Port-Harcourt. Why didnt you add Obigbo to the list. . .

Once more sir, STAY IN YOUR LANE ELSE YOU GET RUN OVER. . . An Owerri Big Boy is toy when he enters Port-Harcourt. Go and ask the people that know. . . . Like someone pointed out, just because your town (Owerri) has an endless supply of cheap whores that attract low lifers into the city dont make it a mega city or more than it is (a civil servant State). Even Aba boys make more money than Owerri Boys. . .
he he he
This is exactly what I've been avoiding. Exactly why I've been pleading with Abagworo to rest this issue.

RoadStar: I am not into the game of comparing states but Anambra needs to live up to expectations.
A state that produces the highest calibre individuals in all walks of life is not being served well.
Stop lying 2 urseleves, I was in Anambra over the xmas period, apart from the well durable roads in the Idemili axis
which was done by the Ngige, the rest areas was full of bad/decayed infrastructure with poor quality work all over the place.

U need to have seen these roads in idemili b4 ngige. They were not even roads.
I believe Obi is the problem. This man lacks vision and is not fit 2 be a leader of any sort.
How can they vote in a mere visionless trader as governor.

This is why I believe that Rochas can deliver on his promises if he plans and executes well.
I agree with you 100%. But it seems like the OP is stretching it further by attempting to downgrade the economic importance of Onitsha and supplant it with Aba. Truely, Peter Obi is performing below expectation. But bear in mind that he is not the worst performing governor in southeast.
Just like many Anambrarians, I'm disappointed that Peter Obi was still occupying that seat after the last election. So we hope to hit him hard in the eye just like we did during the Anambra-North senatorial contest between Dora and Ngige.
PoliticsRe: Anambra Vs Abia. Which Is More Organized? by ACM10: 9:05am On Mar 19, 2012
Abagworo: I will like to know on what grounds Onitsha is 5 times Aba because from google earth, Aba seems much bigger. Available info shows there are more multi national companies in Aba, more SMEs, more IGR and even more cottage industries.
Onitsha market is more than 5x bigger than Ariaria market. Onitsha market comprises of Main market, Head bridge, Upper Iweka market, Awada spare parts market, Iweka Rd. electrical and electronics market, etc. Due to congestion, the market has expanded to Nkpor(motor spare parts), Ogidi(building materials and bakery), Oba(electricals), Obosi(motor spare parts). Therefore business activity in Onitsha is not solely concentrated in main market unlike Ariaria market.

Mr. Globe:
Exactly, bro. Notice I subtly stayed away from the topic so as not to allow Peter Obi and his agents take the glory when I say Anambra is better (as they always do). It is stup!d to compare Anambra and Abia. Anambra has onitsha which is 5 times > than Aba the only pride of Abia. Ok, umuahia will compete with rickety Awka but then, there is still Nnewi, ALL individually developed even with govt neglect. Anambra is light years ahead of abia. What they just need is the right govt (I hope they vote soludo in 2014) who will expand and dualize roads, demolish illegal and crappy structures, plan the cities, AIRPORT, provide infrastructures to allow standard economic activities to flow. I bet, with that in place Anambra will overtake rivers and even compete with lagos. Peter obi is just a setback

Da infamous: good talk the thing is that these people don't no anambra state very well,do you know that anambra state is the only state that you will never see huts and mud houses unlike some states in SE and other regions they all still got huts etc.Anambra is well organised full of potentials too many young and old self made millionaires and billionaires most of the infrastructure in anambra were build by individuals onitsha is one of the richest city in SE/Nigeria main market onitsha is the biggest in Africa so why comparing the two huh
I would have joined the bandwagon. But I gains nothing by pulling down my fellow Igbo town or state. As I mentioned earlier, the intention of the OP in starting this thread is malicious. The facts are there online. Just google them. Abagworo got so frustrated with the paucity of the replies to his thread that he resorted to calling Onitsha businessmen 'petty traders'. In an effort to rile us and extract an angry response from us.

The best that we can do here is to ignore this thread. As for Peter Obi, we'll tackle his f/u//ck up in 2014.
