Innoson carry go! I believe you die. Make una try board those buses. They are comfort re-defined. |
Abagworo: Onitsha to Owerri is 45 minutes drive and the road is perfect to international standard. My friend, the journey from Onitsha to Owerri Airport is not 45 mins drive even when the road are less congested. I dropped my uncle at Concorde hotel Owerri just a yr and 3months ago to book a flight to Lagos en route to US. The road is not perfect as you opined. From Okija axis to Mgbidi is full of pot-holes and can be best described as death-traps. Abagworo: Most importantly people should stop making self acclaimed assertions like . Comparing Onitsha to Ogun which has Otta and Abeokuta shows some level of ignorance. You guys need to travel around and know your country well.OMG! You are still striving to lure me into your childish, di.ck measuring comparison, pitching Onitsha against other cities. What is your point here? That Ogun with Otta is way ahead of Onitsha in terms of trade and commerce? It seems like you relish blind debate. When next you remarks that I'm ignorant. I'd expect you to expose my ignorance. |

re@lchange:Nwanne mu, I'm seriously puzzled. Nobody has come up with plausible explanation on why they should smuggle these fulanis to the south in the middle of the night. As far as I'm concerned, their intention is malicious. Why not Sokoto where there are large expanse of land? Besides, Sokoto is the seat of their spiritual leader(the caliphate). Why move them to the hostile south? Anybody that tolerates this soft invasion must have his head examined. Any student of history will tell you that this is their first phase of invasion. Nobody should argue that we should tolerate them on compassion basis. No Way! I see them for what they are. They are the first wave of invasion force. Also, anybody that thought that their stay will be temporary should book an appointment with his neurologist tomorrow. I'm worried about this development because I might wake up one day and hear that they have migrated to Ebonyi too. These people should be sent back to the north. We can't tolerate them here. |
A very strong reason why I should work for Jonathan's emergence in 2015. I believe this man. He threatened that north will make this country ungovernable if Jonathan wins - THREAT DELIVERED! Why will I doubt him this time around that he has threatened disintegration. I can only lend him my support in his bid to actualize his dream. |
jason123: I did not reply your other questions, not because my mind is made up but because it will severally derail the thread and give room for the tribalist!Really?! jason123: Now, let's think, will it make sense for Ogun to have an international airport when Lagos is close-by?Your analogy is lame. Enugu airport, Emene is 120km from Onitsha. Imo airport is about 110km from Onitsha. Port Harcourt airport is more than 300km from Onitsha. Have you bothered to travel to Onitsha from those location. It's a very exhausting trip. Moreover, Ogun can never be compared to Onitsha in terms of trading and commerce. If Ogun ascends to the level of Onitsha(businesswise), they will surely clamour for an International airport. Besides the airport will serve Nnewi too. jason123: Even states as far as Niger do not have an international port.Yet another silly analogy jason123: I am not against building ONE international airport in, lets say, Enugu but why build a new one when you can simply expand the existing one? For those advocating for THREE, can you see the folly in their reasoning?I'm not advocating for three international airports. I prefer one international airport close to the economic hub. |
afam4eva: You talk as if lagos is the only place where you have consumers. Mos def, lagos will be there for a very long time but onitsha can serve as a hub for business in the eastern region and not necessary Nigeria as a whole but citing an aiport or a seaport there will give onitisha the imperatives to be able to compete with lagos but not necessarily beat it anytime soon. Mind you, by the time onitsha starts gaining ground, people will start moving to that place and the population of lagos will reduce, maybe not drastically, but it will reduce and the big lagos market you talk about will also depreciate.Mind you that the mere mention of "competition" and "decongesting Lagos" scares the sh1t out of him. Endeavour to avoid the use of those terms. |
jason123: What are you on about? People are talking about using Asaba or PH airports or renovate the Imo and Enugu airport, you are talking about opposing. How is that opposition. This has nothing to do with Yorubas, Igbo blah. People are simply analysing the issue. At the end of the day, we are not the ones that will build these airports. It's pointless engaging you since you've already made up your mind. Moreover, it's difficult for me to engage someone that attends to my questions selectively. You can't even back-up your outlandish claim of "18 million customers". Your mind has been made up that no other region(especially east) should be developed to rival Lagos. Either we pass through Lagos, PH, or Abuja or nothing. International airport in the East is a no no. |
manny4life: Isn't it mischievous of you to assert such erroneous claims; unfortunately, economist are able to assert what types of markets and what category it fell into. FYI, these are the types of markets and I'm sure, they hadn't made any mistakes when they asserted Onitsha about being the largest market...Why waste your time with that folk. Can't you observe that his ignorance is shouting? Let him get some real education first before delving into the complex topic of economics. |
Aigbofa: When economists talk of "largest markets" they are not talking about the largest open space market where you can go and buy your apu.Can you imagine this bushman. Pls locate and engage Dayokanu, Ileke-idi, Eko-ile and other folks that are on par with your level of cognition. |
nagoma: So much ignorance And hatred here. I don't know where to start. Without the Fulani cows you will be eating your children . You bloody cannibals. You have consumed all the monkeys and grass cutters , you have turned on the donkeys. Once the Fulnis stop rearing cattle you will go back to your cannibal practices because you cannot live without meat and you cannot rear even goats. This is hilarious! For a while, I thought I mistakenly entered the jokes section. I assume that this dumb comment is more of a joke. |
jason123: Manny4life, most Igbo traders NEED/b] Lagos because it offers them 18 million customers. Onitsha and co do not offer them such a large market. As the saying goes, "if everyone is a trader who will buy"?Yorubas wants Igbos to leave Lagos. At the same time opposing the effort of Igbos to develop the infrastracture in the east to enable them vacate from Lagos. I have some question for you. 1. Do you think that the "Onitsha is the largest market in West Africa" in name only? 2. Can you back your "18 million customers" claim with proof? 3. Why not give businessmen a choice? Why force them to pass through Lagos? 4. "who will patronise it if majority his target customers are not there? " Why not agree to put your assumption to test? |
Fulanis in Cross River? ![]() That's too close to Igbo territory for our comfort. Why not ship them to Sokoto? We don't want Fulanis close to Igbo territory. |
yuzedo: First of all, naming Ekene Dili Chukwu in this post is ethically wrong as it can lead to decreased patronage (De-marketing).The OP will perform better if he is NTA's presenter of Tales by the Moonlight. I perused through the post before it made to the frontpage. I wanted to take on him for maligning the brand name(Ekene Dili Chukwu). But I kicked against the idea, knowing that it will attract the much needed attention to his latest work of fiction that he desperately crave. I can basically pick hole in every sentence in this post. This gist is simply incredible! |
These are mere speculations. There is no proof that human beings in our present form can survive on those planets and stars. We are even afraid to venture into those planets in person because of the risk involved. The farthest we've set our own foot is our own moon. We keep sending only robots to Mars. While Hubble telescope is doing the remaining job for us. Thereby fueling our speculations. Besides, travelling to those planets will take millions of years. Human beings must achieve immortality before embarking on that journey or we invent space craft that travels with the speed of light. So we still have a long way to go. |
bittyend: @ AbagworoWeakling! You can't throw your own punch. You are waiting for someone else to do the job for you. Anyone that quits doing that automatically enters your blackbook. Sissy! |
Hmmm. . . Just passing by. . . So it will be nice if I say hello to my brothers and sisters. Emm. . .I don't know why Yorubas should self-service on Igbo thread. Just drop your constructive criticism like Gar3th did and move on. I'm yet to understand why everything Igbo or Igbo-related makes some Yorubas aggresive. Later, they will turn around and accuse us of inferiority complex. I assume that Yorubas considers us their perpetual competitors, perpetual opposers. Like their greatest export, Obasanjo once remarked, "In my tribe, opposition means enemy". Pls my tribe does not tag opposers as enemy. So you guys should not "high"(apologies to Dayokanu) on Igbo threads. Since, I'm passing by, I feel it's not necessary to comment on the topic of note. Ride on with the debate. Ka o di nu. |
PapaBrowne: To be sincere, I totally agree with him!! My Glo Broadband is faster than what I get in some world class hotels in Asia and Europe!! Recently, I had this argument with someone and he couldn't believe me!! The only problem is reliability!! Somedays you don't get that crazy speed!!GLO is the fastest broadband connection that I've ever used in Nigeria. Though it's expensive. But the quality of service offered is worth the financial commitment. |
floriana: so that DSTV can now burst his bubble abi?Yes! They can't just be fleecing Nigerians. We got to find a way to bypass their firewall. |

ak47mann: For people that are here talking as if they have been to most parts in anambra even the indigenous are telling you people that obi is not as bad as they ring the bell, general hospital onitsha is behind my house i saw the hospital depreciating daily back in the days from main hospital to doctors quarters.Go there now and see what obi has done,he turn the whole hospital around, each doctors quarters is fully furbish with inbuilt studio apartments and beautiful gardens surrounding the place, same as the main hospital senior doctors quarters all renovated with beautiful flower designs too...................Haba AK! Which General Hospital Onitsha are you talking about? ![]() Is it not the one at Awka Road besides Guinness Specialist Eye Hospital? Am I right? The only facelift he gave to that hospital is the erection of a giant billboard in front of the hospital with his larger than life image interspersed with ANIDS propaganda. The hospital is glorified primary health centre. Doctors don't even have the basic equipment to work with. There is chronic shortage of drugs. Consultant/specialist don't work there because of inability of the state govt to pay them. Even though, Nigeria Medical Association, Onitsha chapter are using the uncompleted building in its vicinity as there meeting venue. The only services they offers mostly is maternity services. Pls cite an example with hospital in the hinterland. Your spin here has hit a snag. I laugh at the flower designs. ![]() |
@Coolbet007 I'm yet to buy into Soludo's hype. I'm of the opinion that the devil I know is better than the angel I don't know. Peter Obi promised a lot and delivered virtually nothing. So I'll continue to stick with Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige. He's the only governor that actually performed in office. Remember that he built all those roads without the monthly allocation from the FG. He hardly discriminates between the state roads and federal roads. Actually I got to know all the federal roads during the early part of Obi's administration, What else did Sullivan Chime achieve apart from roads construction? So it will be unfair to rate Sullivan favourablywhile rating Ngige differently. Peter Obi promised to fight crime with job. . . What happened?. . .Anambrarians got introduced to the phenomenon of kidnapping. Crime rates actually fell down during Ngige administration. . . .I still wonder how he was able to achieve that feat in the absence of any security outfit. So I wont buy into African-Dubai-Taiwan utopia of Soludo any time soon. We can't allow a sweet-talking politician to violate us again. |
deshclones: you mean chino.....dude stay in udoka my foot..he stays in amikwo awka or okpuno...Ingrate! Onuku! ![]() Which other insult do you want? I observed some familiar and peculiar writing style that raised my suspicion. I wont reveal those secrets. 'cause I want to avoid friendly fire incidents whenever I encounters one in a new moniker. ![]() |
^^^ Bros, seriously you sounds like one notable poster living in Udoka estate. Where do u reside? |
archangel1: is your problem the tax you are paying to the state? or that the governor is not performing? if the tax is too much or the university fees is too much, you relocate to lagos: the richest state in nigeria, whose state university is paying N250,000 per semester? You sounds like one of my brother living at Udoka Estate. ![]() Is that you? ![]() |
^^^ I don't have time for Peter Obi's apologist now. We'll put his achievements/performance under microscope in 2014. Till then. . . |
Ejiné: The money Anambra generates internally is over 15 times the amount generated by Enugu (the "civil service dominated" state) - yet. . .None at all. Upon the fact that allocations seized under Ngige were released to him. His only achievement is giving Ojukwu a befitting burial. |
kettykin: Judging from Awo's past antecedent of reaching out to Zik and Ahmau Bello at the same time , with the same propositon , i dont think any other thing Awolowo said in any of his interviews about using hunger as a weapon of war , the 2 dollar policy and the Money Biafrans left in Nigerian Banks can be taken with a pinch of Salt.Awo is a deeply flawed man and one of the most heartless politician of his generation. He is everything I hate in Nigerian politicians put in one. |
kettykin: I dont know whom to believe again. But the Nigerian Army can not use food as a weapon of war wihout getting clearance from presidency , either the president of his vice who doubled as a minister for finance.Whose account sounds plausible? ![]() |
