Odenigbo Aroli: You are so naive, nwanne. Afam is not an honest person. If you were paying close attention you will notice he never cautioned his Enugu brother who were castigating Anambra.
Maturity is not synonymous with naivety. I can never descend so low with you to attack our brothers and sisters. Afam is a strong defender of Ndigbo. His only crime(to you) is his criticism of Peter Obi's incompetence. Afam is not an Igbo supremacist in the mold of Chino. I'm impressed with his objectivity on this forum. He often cautions some rogue characters who are bent on sparking an internal fight. He has track record on that. Do you expect him to continually play the role of internet police here?

I will still dine with my Igbo brothers and sisters of Enugu extraction; even if they fails to condemn the disgraceful attacks on the good people of Anambra. The destiny of Umuigbo is so intricately linked that we can't afford to fight or discriminate within ourselves.

You, Chino(+ his multiple ids) and Abagworo started this unnecessary fight. I'm pleading with you, Nri Priest to sheath your sword. Please let the sleeping dog lie. What do you gain by pulling your brother down? Why can't you ignore this thread if it gives you hard-on?

I also condemn the attacks from both sides in the strongest term. Why can't you guys see the big picture? Why waste you energy fighting each other?

PoliticsRe: Why Are Most Private Universities Situated In The SW? by ACM10: 2:15pm On Nov 19, 2012
Abagworo: [s]The reason there aren't as much Universities in the Southeast is scarcity of land. We have the zeal for education and the resources to build schools but land is very scarce especially in Imo and Anambra States.[/s] Village lands could go as high as 10 to 40million per plot in some areas and we know the number of acres required for a university.

[s]As at present Imo is the most literate and educationally developed State.[/s]
I totally disagree with the cancelled parts.
PoliticsRe: North Sustained Nigeria Economically Before Oil Was Discovered - Ango Abdullahi by ACM10:
This is the biggest lie of the century. For the fact that no one bothered to bust it, northerners continues to peddle it in perpetuity.
North was so poor economically that the Brits had to sustain it by paying £500,000 per annum to their emirs. Just to keep the peace and prevent the region from descending to chaos and anarchy. This money comes from the proceeds from the south. Let me remind Nigerians that if they adjust £500,000 with the inflation rate since 1914, it will run into billions of pounds today.
Britain continued this policy until they felt that it was no more economically viable. They decided to amalgamate their two protectorates into one country to cut the cost of administration. Since then, north has been feeding on the south. There was no time in the history of Nigeria when north fed the federation.

The list is unnecessary. As an Anambrarian, I feel so ashamed of your action. If not for the cooperation of other Ndigbo, would Zik, Ojukwu, Ekwueme have achieved much? We all need each other to progress. We should not play this politics against our fellow Umuigbo. I feel so ashamed to boast with someones achievement.

^^^ACM10, thanks for the pic updates; if not for these latest pics you posted, we'd have thought 'massive' construction works are still on-going and are due to be completed. angry angry See how filth/durty has taken over and blocked some of the gutters in some of the pics you posted....why for fuc/ks sake can't they (even if work is suspended for the rainy season as always seems to be the case) clean their surroundings and make them neat?

And another thing: those intra-city roads you posted the pics.....where are pedestrians supposed to walk? huh; will they be taking their chances with the crazy traffic when walking by the road? Honestly, the things we see as 'normal' and 'acceptable' is enough to get a gov't sued in saner climes.
Nwanne daalu! cool

@First bolded
It is not unexpected of Gov. Obi. He can never do a quality job. When he does one, he will abandon it halfway giving us one flimsy excuse.

@Second bolded
This is why I said that the quality of Obi's job leaves much to be desired. Compare it with Chime's work at the road connecting Agribank junction to Enugu-PH expressway.

Ohaneze1: ACM

I understand your position. The work is still ongoing due to rain, now that the rain has sub-sized the work will be completed before xmas. Already the major contractor handling the expressway will soon get to that point to ashphalt the road.
But will you agree with me that the pace of his work is very slow? Remember that he started that project in the middle of rainy season. Why use rain to make excuse? Chime does his projects all year round at a very fast pace. Why should it take Gov. Obi more than 3 years to construct less than 8 kilometres? A bad dancers always complain that his balls restricted his dancing moves.
PoliticsRe: Gov Obi's Mall In Abj(pic) by ACM10: 9:43pm On Nov 18, 2012

Ohaneze1: You don't know what you are talking about. Maybe you are talking of Awka of 10yrs ago, but recent findings has shown that you are talking utter rubbish. Awka has some of the most modern architectures in the SE. Its on record that one can hardly see a house in Awka that was not built with modern long span roofing sheet, instead of ordinary CIS that are common else. With the new UN-Habitat masterplan Awka is going to the top. Below is the same Unizik junction as at 2 months ago. Work is seriously taking place there, coupled with the reconstruction of the Onitsha-Awka fed. highway that will pass there.

WHISTLE BLOWER: I was almost ignoring you till I found something. You said Ajali is Ezeagu. I know you are hardly an Anambran, little wonder you do not know the towns. cheesy

Anambra under Obi is doing great, with healthy financial status that cannot be found anywhere in Nigeria. He has created enabling environment to be able to attract FDIs and huge investments which no other Nigerian gov has achieved in the last 10yrs. He has working on all areas of the state simultaneously. He was not appoint Special adviser on finance to the presidency on political slot but on it merits. He has opened and connected all the community in Anambra, which is the actual development, than focusing only in urban centers like some govs are doing. Onitsha, Awka and Nnewi are getting attention on areas of road construction and reconstruction. I don't know where you get the gibberish, you are sending here, because all the stuff you wrote about Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi are quite opposite of what is on the ground. Why not tell us the truth..where are you fromhuh?
I have long suspected that you are Chino. Now I have no reason to doubt my suspicion. Only Chino has penchant for using multiple ids. But you keep blowing your cover whenever you speak in certain way. Aint it funny that Chino bolted from the blues to comment for the first time on a thread that has reached 54 pages? huh

I implore everyone to ignore Chino11/Chino22/Chino24/one.east/Bestview/Archangel/Whistleblower/etc. They are all one and the same person. He has no shred of decency online. Pls ignore him before he derails this thread.
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by ACM10:
@Whistle blower,
Going through your profile, I can see that you are in a habit of denigrating your fellow Ndigbo. It used to be Ndi Imo; now you positioned your artillery within the range of Enugu. What do you gain from tearing down your brothers? Why can't you just get a life!
You are derailing this thread. The topic can never be changed as you requested. Live with it! Open a thread of any city of your choice and label it "pride of the east".
Chime did a marvelous job in Enugu metropolis and other villages in Enugu such as Nkanu, Udi, Nsukka, Awgu, Ezeagu, etc. He tarred the roads, improved healthcare, improved water supply, etc. I witnessed all these developments.
I commend him for the little he did accomplish.

I told you that I'm from Ogidi in Anambra state. I will defend Anambra against any form of attack. But I can never defend the incompetence of Obi's administration.

Peter Obi is doing nothing! Nnewi and Awka is neglected! Onitsha is largely abandoned! His only principal achievement is old Enugu-Osha road. Remember that Chime also tarred the road from Udi axis all the way to Oji, then to Anambra border. I passed through the road last week and I'm impressed with the quality and pace of the work going on there. The quality of Obi's projects leaves much to be desired. There is no town in Anambra that can be compared to Enugu. Onitsha is rowdy, cramped up and dirty. Left for individual efforts, there wont be any activity in the city. A city at the bank of river Niger does not enjoy any form of public water supply. Let me remind you that the water which supplies Enugu comes from Ajali in Ezeagu. Ajali is 30 kilometres away from Enugu periphery. Onitsha residence are forced to drill water from an already polluted underground water source. The roads in Onitsha are in a very poor state.
The drainage system is lacking. You will basically swim in main market on a typical rainny day.
The environmental sanitation in Onitsha is competing with that of Aba. Some refuse have been in some localities from the time of Mbadinuju. Pigs roam freely in Onitsha.
Enugu is miles ahead of any southeastern states in the area of security. Prominent men roam freely in Enugu with no security attache.
The power supply in Enugu is far better than that of any city in the east.
Let's not talk about entertainment, tourism, etc
Enugu is the pride of the east my dear. No contest!

Odenigbo Aroli: Nwokem, jee kpuo ike n'oche; You are from Ogidi but you couldn't write a simple "Omanbala dielect". Says a lot about your orientattion. I don't have any issue with the progress of Enugu but I strongly disagree with the term "pride of the east". If Spyder has said Enugu is the most beautiful city in the east we won't be here discussing this BS because it is in actuality but for you lot to ignorantlly and erroneously term Enugu the pride of the east is inexcusably! Who made Enugu the pride of the east?

For you Afam, you can keep masking your hatred and jealousy for Umu-Omanbala but be assured that you can't fool me! You have constantly ignored the groundbreaking development Peter Obi has brought to Omanbala and the unity he has brought to the east since he became the chairman of the southeast governors forum. Peter Obi could be the most powerful figure in the eastern Nigeria of today but it hard for you to see that because you have been beclouded by the shameful veil of bigotry. You want Anambra to become like Dubai overnight disregarding that a mansion starts with a solid foundation. Today Omanbala is one of the most economic viable state in Nigeria. Omanbala doesn't owe anybody and we still have billions in our reserve.

I laugh when some of you say I'm jealous and I want to know why I will be jealous of a state that can't pay their dept. Running around borrowing money that you don't have the capacity to pay. Dumbtards!
No need to switch id to make a point. I can see that you are Nri-priest. What do you mean by "simple Omambala dialect"? Why is it difficult for you guys to appreciate the fact that Enugu is the most developed and livable city in the east and therefore "pride of the east"? I appreciate goodworks whenever I sees one. I will be so happy if any other eastern city displaces Enugu from that position. But, it can't be on the threads of nairaland.

Abagworro: ^
I agree with you. Its an insult to the sensibility of Ndigbo to make such assertion.

I have also wondered what made Enugu state the pride of Alaigbo? Because there is nothing significant about Enugu state or Enugu particularly. Its just a mirage as you have rightly stated. I do not see anything worth celebrating or being proud of by the entire SE in the so called Enugu state, its all mediocrity all the way.

Maybe its for Enugu state people who are singing praise over mediocrity show in the place. The entire SE should not be drawn into this show of shame.

DISCLAIMER: WE DISSOCIATE OTHER SE STATES FROM THIS SHAME, PARTICULARLY IMO STATE.
Pls respect yourself on this thread. You are guilty of the same crime you accuse Chino of. I remember that you were not happy when I posted a lake of water in front of Igwe of Ikeduru palace. Remember that Ikeduru is part of Owerri capital development area. And not up to 2 kilometers from the centre of Owerri. Now you are here working overtime on this thread to demean Enugu.
Let me remind you that I toned down my criticism of Owerri and Rochas just not to offend you. I hope you wont complain whenever we discuss about Owerri and Rochas?
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by ACM10: 8:39pm On Nov 16, 2012
WHISTLE BLOWER: @NRI PRIEST

I thought I was the only one that ever thought of this. What actually made enugu state the pride of the east? Its a question that may not be able to be answered in the next 200yrs. We have more important SE cities that make the SE proud within and outside the country. This is a state that entire SE has given so much to but the only thing it can offer is gibberish as infrastructure. The last time I visited the same enugu state it was all a mirage, the poorly constructed roads are already washed away, dumps has taken over virtually all the streets from Achara layout, new haven, uwani even the so called GRA is messed. This is one reason Yoruba people will continue to laugh at us because we are celebrating mediocrity exhibited in enugu state as excellence. Since the 2nd term of chime he has barely done anything in the state, even the few ones he did in his first term are already eroded. enugu state remains timid, hugely under-developed and highlevel poverty in the land. We are not even talking about the poor security situation.

OP: change the topic because enugu state is nowhere near being what we the easterners can be proud of nor live in it.
I'm totally disappointed with this comment. Pls can provide any evidence that any Igbo town is better than Enugu? I've travelled to all major Igbo towns in the last four months. To tell you the truth; Enugu is light years ahead of the closest Igbo town which is Owerri. Let's not judge with sentiment. I'm from Ogidi in Anambra State. Based on the level of development which I observed in the Igbo towns I've been to, I'm uniquely positioned to rate them. So I place them in this order.

1. Enugu

2. Owerri

3. Abakaliki

4. Umuahia

5. Onitsha

6. Aba

7. Awka

8. Nkpor

9. Nnewi

10. Nsukka

Enugu is the pride of the east! Live with that fact! Most of the notable personality in Alaigbo lives in Enugu. Late Ikemba, Ngige, Akunyili, Innoson, Ibeto, etc. Ohaneze is based in Enugu. I will be most happy if Peter Obi could replicate half of Chime's work in Enugu in Awka. I will also be happy if Igbo towns competes among themselves in development. If you could talk of Enugu with such an unflattering tone, I wonder what you will say of other Igbo towns.
