SolarEngr: I stopped sharing prices here since I have to update the price every other month because of the unstable economy. I don't want to mislead prospective clients, it's happened in the past I don't want a reoccurrence. Thanks for understanding.
But the current price for 1KVA 220AH Tubular Battery and 3 pieces of 180W New Mono PVs + other installation materials + Installation fee #480K.
For those who have seen our plans, the only thing we exclude is logistics fee. Kudos to an enterprising undergraduate like you, who had created a niche for himself as solar technician. Some lazy undergraduate are still outside there believing only their certificate that can feed them. They believe only blue-collar jobs are for the illetrates, not know that there is money in those acclaimed dirty jobs. To the OP, keep up the good work. OP, i have some clarifications from you. Why are your products rated in KVA not in KW, because KVA is just an apparent power, that depends solely on the type of load attached to an AC power supply. You claimed 4 , 200w solar panel produces 3.5kva. How is that possible, when the power factor of the load is what determine this. I still prefer to rate your system in kW - real power than KVA. I see most of your system having overated capacity! Also, I observed that in most of your solar installation, you used low voltage panel -output less than 18v panel , 180w, 200w, etc and not high voltage panel like 250w, 300w, 400w, whose output greater than 35v , especially for 2kva system and above. Most of the controller used are PWM type only in few cases I'm seeing mppt. |

ceaser: The problem with the GT card is the 10usd surcharge on card issuance. I think that's on the high side. Although I heard that UBA is worse sef with 20usd as annual surcharge.
Then the problem of going to Aboki physically and also walking into the bank to physically deposit OTC may be undesirable for some, even though you may end up buying from Aboki at around 745 naira as at today versus 771 naira for some of these online apps.
Nonetheless, the ease of just fund transfer from your own bank on your phone and subsequently having a loaded virtual dollar card usable anywhere is a comfort one might not mind sacrificing physical dollar card for. Using bank dollar card is far better in terms of security. Nairalanders, don't Put too much money into all these virtual card, the operators of these fintech company can disappear with your money. Most don't have traceable address. Just transfer the amount you need for your online purchase convert to dollar and use, leave nothing in your wallet. Juoflife1: Normally it's the landlords responsibility. But things are not normal in this part of the world. Pumping machine is something that is in the ground and I don't think any tenant can go in the ground and spoil it. The best tenants can do is help. Tenants can pay 50% of the cost. Some wicked landlords leave it for tenants who have no choice than to repair it. But it is the landlords responsibility. What of the landlord installed substandard pump |

lsoul: As a landlord, talking from experience, tenants are wicked, just a few are nice, Tenants will put on the pumping machine running all nights and it's burns and you expect the landlord to fix it? Nepa takes the light no tenant will switch off the pumping machine, but if it's their 50 inch smart TV, they will switch it off, lights comes could be high voltage or low voltage. These are the things that damage pumping machine Good point there!! It depends on the situation. If it due to carelessness on the tenants landlord shouldnt be called on. If it spoiled due age , land Lord should be involved |

aujile: So i have an issue with EKDC, when i moved into my apartment, i was given my recharge box and i loaded 10k and after a month or so i loaded another 10k then followed by 5k when i needed to use nepa bill for something. Around July last year my family travelled and didn't come back till early this year. While they were away i wasn't using any appliance because i'm hardly home till around 11pm. And most times we don't even have light and whenever we do, it's usually too low to power anything other than bulb. Even fan won't be blowing enough to stop you from sweating if there's heat. So i was always running generator to do the things i needed to do with light. Fast forward to September this year, they came to run checks and found out that someone did meter bypass. They checked my other meter and confirmed it was only that one person, however they cut my light saying that it has been long since i recharged my meter and billed me 35k. How can it be a crime not to have recharged recently even when they confirmed and said that i didn't bypass the meter At least just be loading 1k every month. They suspect their must be hanky panky somehow. No one trust anybody again in this country |

I admire the courage of these guys to killed that witch. they shouldn't be attested but rewarded handsomely for their upholding the Bible. They should be given weapons to keep killing witches and wizards who are responsible for this country's misery. they're the ones causing accidents on roads, sending diseases, killing good people, epileptic power supply, inequality, political instability, preventing successes of people amongst other things

IbeOkehie: This is not a reasonable question. We should be asking what components are NOT imported.
And no one here has claimed to be a petroleum engineer or such.
Refining crude oil into kero, petrol and diesel involves some sort of cost. That's all. The world price of petrol right now, at this moment, is at least ₦230 to ₦350 and there's no way it can cost less in Nigeria. That's all anyone needs to know. Ghana, Cameroun & Niger Republic are crude oil producers and they sell to their people at world prices and we know those countries are poorer than Nigeria
Nigerians don't want to pay full price for ANYTHING, that's OK as long as they realize the implications of their choice, which is a stagnating economy and everlasting poverty for 99.999% of the population. Enjoy your cheap economy and stop complaining.
Nigeria used to have perennial scarcity in telecoms and cement. Banking was the same, ALL banks were owned by government and there was lots of corruption. I remember when I was growing up when bank managers were gods because they could give out loans that wouldn't be paid back. Those problems in telecoms, cement and banking were solved with privatization & deregulation.
If Nigerians can't learn from the experience in banking, telecoms and cement then they're real Zombies in a Zoo. The lessons are clear. Privatize and deregulate EVERYTHING possible and where not possible like airports, Universities and seaports, give them to the State Governments. The Niger Bridges, give one to Delta State and the other to Anambra State.
It's really that simple, there's nothing to argue about, do it and watch an economic miracle unfold. I support privitisation and deregulation but will not support handing federal properties like airports, seaports , University to state government. State government are as useless , even worst in maintaining public institution. Most of higher institutions University and Polytechnic being run by state government are nothing to write about, the quality of education of education is very poor unlike their federal counterparts. State institutions are run like one man business, embodied corruption, no competition and unethical practices. It's still better federal continued running these critical areas. |
Politics › Re: Oil Marketers Abandon Scheme To Break Subsidy Regime by acorntree(m): 4:59pm On Dec 11, 2022 |
IbeOkehie: This is the same argument that was used against the privatization & deregulation of telecoms. If you were an adult in say 2001, you will remember that NITEL was the sole and only telecoms company in Nigeria, just like NNPC today. Back then phone lines were subsidized and yet only the very rich had access to phones. And you had to pay big bribes to get a phone line. If you weren't an adult back then, PLEASE, PLEASE ask the older folks who were around at the time.
So when telecoms were finally liberalized, the opposite happened - prices decreased and most Nigerians, even the very poor, now have phones. It's a simple fact of economics, liberalization leads to competition and decreased prices and surplus supply. The same will happen in the petrol market.
But that's not the OFFICIAL price, it's actually ILLEGAL for petrol stations to sell at that price.
Also note, that price is still far below what is paid in neighboring countries, so smuggling will continue and thus there will be scarcity in Nigeria. Remember, it's ordinary Nigerians that do this smuggling, there's videos and pictures on the internet that prove that. Just search Google.
This is one of the mysteries of the whole thing. I'm fairly confident government started paying subsidy for fuel back in 1973, Nigeria had operational refineries back then. It seems...in fact the reason for introducing subsidies was simply to shield Nigerians from high prices which had risen due to the Yom Kippur War of that year.and it was meant to be a temporary program. I was an adult then, I can still remember how MTN were riping off Nigerians with their per minute billing which was later conquered by Glo per second billing. I totally agreed with on this, privitisation and deregulation will solve this problem. Because some people are really benefiting from these subsidy, especially the marketers and NNPC, if not why is it taking ages to remove the subsidy |

Kobonaire234: No, but it won't cost less than 300 naira either.
Niger produces refined fuel at home, and for export, and it cost them N350 at the pump. Ghana does the same for over N600 per liter at the pump.
It costs money to refine fuel. Keep in mind that the components and materials and equipment in the refinery is not made in Nigeria...it is made abroad. Let's wait till late next year, when Dangote will start petrol production!! Nigerian problems are just too many and government seem confused on what to do |
