beardedboy: Secondary is the real education. University is for learning a skill.
Unfortunately, in Nigeria we see university as education. This why people waste five years studying a skill they neither have interest in nor have enjoy. Then, after five years they start thinking of learning a skill.
With all due respect to Chief Awolowo andvhis good will, I believe his legacy of "free university education for all" has done more evil for us as a society than good.
University isn't for everyone. Agreed, university graduates (especially post graduates) are the intellectual elites of every profession and society. They're innovators and sit at the top of the intellectual pyramid. However, people like this SHOULD only make up 5% (or even less) of a good society. Most of the jobs and problems are repetitive and generic.
For example, real software engineers are very few. Most software developers are just consumers of libraries and frameworks. Also, most of us just need tailors to sew something in vogue for us, we don't need a shiny new design that no one has ever seen. And so on and so forth.
Our government should remove hands from our universities and maybe polytechnics. They should focus on making our secondary school up to standard such that a student of public secondary school can write and pass waec and jamb without any extra lesson/tutorial or illegal centre. After that, everybody should go and learn mechanic, electrical, plumbing, tiling, hairdressing, baking, carpentry and even some white collar jobs like data analysis and web development.
Many of the jobs that require bsc today are just entry-level jobs that were meant for secondary school finishers in those days. All these bank cashier jobs are normally for waec holders.
. Why categorise web development and data analysis with carpentry, hairdressing etc. if you're not well educated you can't do web development and data analysis
HellVictorinho6: Are the parents ,students ,government and school owners better than him?
Even the students know teaching is worse than human trafficking.
They must pay 4 their evil as well.
Spits!
No school has the right 2 my life!
They cant claim my head successfully.
On top how much?
U guys better stop comparing schools

Those teachers claiming 2 be big
They are just a little bit more 4tunate
It is not only teacher that are underpaid. Many professionals and well skilled people in Nigeria are also underpaid. If you know you're not getting what you want in life change career but don't do fraud, robbery, engage in sharp practices etc in the name of I want a better life.
Seeking a better life is important, but resorting to illegal activities like fraud or robbery, etc as promoted by that dimwits is not the solution. Everything is not about money but fulfilment. It's crucial to explore legitimate avenues, such as changing careers or add other sources of income. Add farming, poultry, or learn programming. Don't because you're underpaid by some greedy and self centered school proprietors now decide to engaged in illegal things.
Tb19: The quote "A Teacher reward is in heaven"is a punchline for you to get exploited by capitalism the more.
In all humility, who the Bleep told you all teachers will make heaven if there's in fact one
If you're in your 20s, deep down you know you can't amount to anything with that job in this country.
Take risk, do that fraud, the times where decency in how you earn might get you something or somewhere great is gone.
Critically look at the options to make money legally in this country and compare it to the population, then you'll realise that everyone cannot succeed legally.
So that your friend that did fraud but you did not join him or her because you thought there's something better somewhere, better swallow your pride and go back to him or her if they're still in the country anyway and like you enough to forgive and teach you.
The concept of right or wrong is relative to the circumstances in your environment, everyone won't have first class or second class upper, so what should others do, kill themselves
Do what you have to do then go legit, a time might come in this country or the world where only those that have money would be afforded rights
Most people that did fraud(yahoo yahoo) and other affiliated schemes would go on to live a very fulfilled life, don't be shocked when their kids or they themselves employ you, the hardworking citizens. E.g your politicians.
Get off your moral horse or moral high ground and observe the times you're in then act accordingly because times have changed.
You will definitely be a criminal, promoting fraud in a public forum. A day will come that you will pay dearly for your evil . Keep defrauding people. Remember you won't live till eternity, you will leave your I'll gotten wealth. Nairaland moderator should do something about these fraudulent characters, not allowing them using this platform to recruit innocent boys to join their evil ways
sukkot: Land is a living and breathing entity that has its own soul and spirit. There are programmed electromagnetic energies across every land on this planet and each area and country and state has its own electromagnetic program and as such the land is a living breathing entity because as humans we are a combination of soil and electromagnetic soul, same as the land. And because the land is a living and breathing entity it’s energy can be in agreement with a person who purchased it or the opposite case in which the energy of the land may not be in agreement with the person who purchased it and the land will spit you out and eventually vomit you out like the massive case going on in ABULE ADO where the land is vomiting out it’s buyers. Also in some cases the spirit of the land agrees with the spirit of the buyer but overtime the spirit of the buyer changes and then the land is not in agreement with what the buyer has become and then the land vomit’s out the person. As such you can never really own land. It is the land who chooses you and not the other way around and when your spirit no longer gels with the lands spirit the land will vomit you out
Also as stated earlier each land area has its own soul program which matches that of the tribe that God has designated that land to and so there is always going to be conflict between the land and owner if the owner is not from that tribe who the land is designated to. There is a spiritual conflict and this explains why immigrants are never really happy or fulfilled in other lands and always yearn to return back home. Nlfpmod mynd44 seun lawyer justwise
Complete nonsense. If you migrated to a new place and have the money, you buy even the whole country!! You will even live and die there in your old age and your children will inherit all what you've there
2mch: Yahoo boys hustle pass people that go to work and they earn much less over time. It is a waste of time, waste of youth and waste of your dignity. Plus you may end up having a bad reputation or going to prison. When you are old and no longer scam, most people don’t even want to do business with you because they don’t trust you.
All the guys who did Yahoo and were big boys during our time are dead broke and old now. They lack skills to even help themselves. All the small boys that went to school and worked are now earning much more money. They are the big boys of today. They follow the Yahoo boys flex but will not pick their call from Prison or their cries of hunger to feed their family.
Don’t waste your life on a life of crime, it has very short life span and it does not last or pay. You don’t want to be 50 and looking for who to scam to feed your family. Being arrested in all the police stations in the community after they have deported you and you lack any skills to survive. A lot are hungry and eventually pay for their crime by losing that money in a bad way. Only very few grow old and enjoy their money. Easy money does not last.
They are not smart, they are very dumb actually because smart people will see the consequences and flee. It’s not worth it in the long run and pay much less with too much energy to even make small money.
Good point you raised here , may God continue to give you more wisdom. Unlike one idiot up there claiming they are smarter.

Fight it out there o. Don't ever think of coming back to Nigeria till you stabilize there. Nigeria is still on autopilot, moving backward and a little forward. In 5 years time you will be happy that you leave this hell called a country. I wish you all the best in your endeavor. Please don't listen to all these naysayers on nairaland blaming you for leaving the hell hole. Most of them are not different from our greedy politician, they live flamboyantly on proceeds of sharp practices, corruption, fraud, etc and that's why they can't leave the country. Some of them who claimed they have businesses or investment here are mostly liars , their business practices are embodiment of corruption. As at today real business owners are lamenting. People are facing tough time now. We just pray it gets better. Just believe with time things will be better for you there. Don't ever look back to your vomit. Pursue your goals with unwavering commitment in the face of challenges.Face your new path and you will conquer your fear.

OLEADTIPS: MY BOSS CONVERTED HIS TOYOTA COROLLA TO ELECTRIC
My Boss Sir Ola has done it again. The increase in Pump price across the country has made my Boss to do things differently. I didn't believe him when he said he was going to convert his Car to electric.
He surprised us two weeks ago when he completed the conversion successfully. I got the opportunity to test drive the car today.
Good initiatives! What's the performance after conversion, in terms millage, drivability etc. Also what type of batteries is used. Is it lithium phosphate or lead acid battery
their service presently unreliable. It takes days for them to even attend to complaints. Once they transferred my money back to my other account, I will just say goodbye. Klasha is no longer worth it again.
This time last year, we fixed bore hole in our house. After they finished, we noticed that white sand comes out of the water any time we pump water.
They said we should allow the water to flow out for some hours before allowing it enter into our tank so that the sand will all come out.
But after the stipulated hours given, the sand was still coming out.
The drillers said it's normal that with time, the sand will stop coming out.
So we bought a water filter to connect it to our pipes so that it can filter the sand and clean water can be coming into the house.
Also we had to still buy electric kettle for boiling water. Whenever there is light, we would stay up even till midnight trying to boil water for drinking.
It's really stressful.
This is what we have been doing for over a year now.
Yet we have borehole o!!!
I see people who have borehole in their houses who don't go through this type of stress while having borehole.
I see people who have borehole in their homes, who just wake up, take a cup, go to their tap and drink water.
But I can't do that even with my borehole
We had to raise money and do borehole because we faced lots of stress using well but it seems there was no point atall.
Till date, white sand still comes out of the bore hole when we pump water.
Please what can I do in this situation because I am tired.
It's normal, it will surely stopped with time. After a year you won't notice that again. Always allow the water to settle before you start using it for now

It is disheartening for individuals to engage in deceit, duping others while still actively participating in this forum. While these actions may seem profitable in the short term, it is imperative to remember that ill-gotten wealth are never sustainable. One day, the consequences of deception will catch up with anyone who engaged in dubious act. Remember Proverbs 10:9 (New International Version)
"Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out."
This verse from the book of Proverbs succinctly conveys the idea that those who choose to live with integrity and honesty can walk securely in life, free from the fear of being exposed. Conversely, those who engage in deceit and crookedness will eventually be discovered and held accountable for their actions. This timeless wisdom serves as a reminder that ill-gotten wealth, no matter how substantial, are ultimately fragile and transient.
Ultimately, it is essential for individuals to reflect upon their actions and consider the long-term consequences of their choices. Building a successful career based on integrity and honesty not only benefits society but also allows individuals to leave a lasting legacy of trust and respect. As the Bible verse reminds us, the path of righteousness and integrity is the one that leads to security and peace of mind, while deceitful practices will ultimately be exposed.
No matter how successful someone may appear in the short term, the consequences of their actions will eventually catch up with them. It is far wiser to pursue success through honesty and integrity, leaving a positive and lasting impact on the world around us.
@N3xt wherever you have done wrong to anyone in this forum or offline please do rectify the wrong, so that you can be free and to leave lasting legacy for yourself and your children.
ogbonti: you are right - he was doing well in Nigeria - and he sometimes regret travelling but he said he knows what he was getting into - and he prepared for it.. some people here do not want to accept the fact that there are challenges overseas - they think once u japa - stress ends NOT TRUE AND 50% OF PEOPLE WHO JAPA IN THE LONG RUN WILL NOT BE BETTER OFF THAN THEY WERE BEFORE THEY LEFT Money is not the only yardstick to measure my statement above about being better off - personal happiness, family integration and community are also very very important
These are the most important to a man's life - most people will not realize it yet because they are hungry in naija- once that need of hunger has been satisfied, then they will know money alone is not everything. some family members who were born in Nigeria have not seen each other for 30 years - because everyone japa to different places - mehnnn let me stop, it's just crazy!!!
To be honest, living in Nigeria has become increasingly scary with each passing day. The unpredictability of daily life is alarming, as things can change dramatically. It is unfortunate that our leaders are not doing anything positively to the present situation. Recently, I had a distressing experience while commuting to my office in Ogun state, which left me astounded.
I was riding in a commercial bus when we were abruptly halted at a police checkpoint, despite the fact that the driver was not on high speed. On the opposite lane, there was a young man in his car who was also instructed to stop, which he obediently did. Surprisingly, one of the police officers began shouting at the young man, demanding that he exit his vehicle. Although the man may have appeared suspicious, looking like yahoo boy, the officers proceeded to harass him, forcibly removing him from his car and subjecting him to physical assault in front of numerous onlookers, despite heavy traffic on both lanes. Furthermore, they fired warning shots into the air, thereby endangering bystanders and intensifying the fear and chaos in the situation. I just look at the those animals in police uniform if they are really normal human being. There oga IG is there in Abuja not addressing these issues of constant harassment and extortion by their boys. Even if the guy was a suspect it don't warrant show of shame I saw that day.
These officers were stationed on the road to address issues related to cult activities. However, the question arises: is this kind of behavior considered normal or acceptable? I would prefer to live in a saner country whether I make or don't make enough to live than live in abundance where I can be harrass for no just course. To be factual Nigeria is turning completely to jungle.
In the 2000s, iPhone 3G was a terrific smartphone but you won’t buy it for $20 today.
Personally, I won’t use an economy (US and China for instance) that depends on government subsidies (now over $15bn) and tax credits to help renewable energy sector compete fairly in the market to determine viability of a project/solution. Neither will I buy because everyone is buying.
I’m future thinking guy and I don’t see myself investing in a solution because some American migrant hyped it. No pun intended.
I’ll only buy a solution that:
1. the installation cost is relatively cheap and affordable for all according to the UN Sustainable Development Goal. 2. is highly reliable and won’t require a backup source of energy for those days that just aren’t that sunny. 3. won’t eat significant amount of space in my house just to house equipments.
I won’t buy an unattractive solution because of market hype regardless of where it’s coming from.
There’s a good reason why smart investors shun solar stocks. It’s because they’ve seen beyond the hype.
I just want to buy a property in a location where I can get 247 electricity without worries.
That’s just me!
Is anything stable , reliable in this country? Don't be fool, 247 electricity is a mirage here. Build your home where you will be happy to live not because of this flimsy excuse. Equip your home with any affordable renewable energy and enjoy your life
dannie007: Most Solar and Inverter Users in Nigeria don't know how to Maintain Batteries of their Systems. Is Best to Install a BLS (Battery Life Saver) device to the Batteries this helps to store Charge that keeps the Battery alive instead of being Empty and Goes Off. Once Batteries go empty regularly the reduces the Life Cycle of the Battery. Battery is suppose to Last 10 Years and above with good Management.
This is only if you buy high quality battery. Most Deep cycle Batteries don't last more than 4 yrs with heavy usage.
Born2conquer: A neighbor spent over 2M on solar installation around 2 years ago, all the batteries are down and they've been required to cough out around 800k for a new set of batteries.
This is my reservation with Solar.
The installer might have bought fake batteries for the setup. The most unreliable part of any solar setup is the battery. Once you don't get high quality deep cycle lead acid battery, just forget it, you won't enjoy the solar . That's why people are now going for lithium batteries, those once are more reliable
I hate hearing pray for Nigeria, while the country continue being taken over by miscreants. Nigeria is a failed country and the government is as useless as a piece of paper.
90% of Japarians can't even buy some Bungalows in my own street here in Abuja. I said it with my whole heart.
When I returned back to Naija from Sweden, I couldn't boast of what I am having now.
My wifey is in shock how I did it (Blow like Satan II). But her lucrative job can't let her leave the country. If not she for find her way too
JAPA is not meant for everyone, if you JAPA and it favor you, thank God. If you JAPA and it does not favor you, please keep shame aside and return back like me.
My wife was literally feeding me in Sweden. I felt so useless that when I look at my naked self on the mirror in the bathroom. I see myself having a P*ssy not a Dick.
Some JAPAnarians will not even see 10million in Naira till they die talkless of 100million
If your wife is the one feeding you when you're there in Sweden, it means you're one of these completely useless and lazy man who decided not to work. You must have traveled out thinking you will continue with lazy lifestyle you developed in Nigeria, looking for short cut, engaging in yahoo etc . So in saner country you won't find it easy since youre not hard working type.
NoNaw: Youre quite dumb trying to sound so smart. He asked a simple question, its either you answer or scroll, you rather twist his question to your own views.
Secondly, you sounded so dammn jealous. 1800 usd is a good monthly salary that ur sister would suck a dick to earn if u have one. Thats about1.6 million
If he earn such, he won't be on nairaland asking stupid question. Everything is not about money but sanity, which we lack here. I know your kind are always after money, money and money, and that's why your type can do anything to get money, ritual, yahoo, organ harvesting, fraud etc. Keep glorifying your useless way of life and let those who seek for sanity enjoy their life in any saner country whether they can accumulate ,1m or 100m
Silentgroper: lol .. yahoo boys that tells his client he's from Nigeria ,delta asaba..
it's either you're joking or you don't know how yahoo works
Joking!! You must be on cheap marijuana. It's 99% probably that the acclaimed boyfriend intention is to dupe the innocent girl . You think we don't how it goes in the banana republic where anything can happen.
Babalegba: Lol, the guy made me laugh. My friendl works for the F.I.R.S on a salary of about 150k per month yet his children are in expensive private universities costing more than a million naira yearly. One of them went to the UK at a cost of 14 million naira for further education. Big expensive cars are parked in their office parking space.. I really don't think some nigerians have a clue what is going on or how much excrement their country is in..
The current situation we find ourselves in today is a result of corruption, as some individuals are benefiting from ill-gotten wealth . In a saner environment, the removal of fuel subsidies would have had a negative impact on the government. However, instead of protesting and expressing their grievances, many Nigerians choose to cheat and take shortcuts in order to sustain their livelihoods. Unfortunately, this create more problem and only benefits few individuals. Given the current state of affairs, it is likely that more Nigerians will resort to criminal activities, and the value of the dollar may reach ₦2000 within the next eight years under this satanic government.
