B.A. English is recognized as a teaching qualification in the UK. The challenge is that you won't be allowed to write the PQE without a certificate in Education in Nigeria. Invariably, you can't apply!

Visit any State office, you'll be guided on what to do.

UK government is not asking for a degree in Education. A teaching qualification means as defined on their website; any qualification above UK level 6 qualification. Your University degree can stand in for this. There are some qualifications that are UK level 6 qualification, but not a University degree. Hence, if your qualification is not a University degree, you'll be unable to proceed with application.

Also, UK government isn't seeking for your TRCN Certificate to proceed with the application. You're not required to submit your TRCN Certificate during the application process please.

However, to get the letter of professional standing, you'll need to submit your TRCN Certificate/TRCN Certificate number before the letter can be issued/written. You'll be unable to write the Professional Qualifying Exam (PQE) if you don't have a teaching qualification (NCE/PGDE or degrees in Education).

1. That should be enough for Vetassess assessment but won’t be for DHA. You need to have tax and/or pension statements.

2. Cash payment does not stop payment of PAYE tax or pension. She can get her school to pay her taxes.

My question is:

Will employment letter, Reference letter from the University Registrar and bank statement of 5 years be enough for proof of employment?

For my spouse,

The Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) is responsible for assessing her skillset.

My question is:

She's a secondary school teacher with a Private school. Most of her salaries were paid to her by cash, not into her bank account. What can she use as proof of employment in her case please?

Again, if she didn't assess her skillset, and I decide to use only her level of English language test (IELTS only), will she be allowed to get a teaching job in Australia without her skillset not assessed by the required body (AITSL).

Boss, for proof of employment, will either of these do? My employer is willing to give a reference letter and I have my employment/appointment letter too, must I include payslip also?

I’m not sure if there is any specific documents for RPL. Just the normal employment documents (payslips, reference letter, employment letter, pension statement, tax statement, salary bank statement)

If all your CORE courses are more than 31 units, kindly note that the total units of the Core courses supercedes that requirements you see there.

Can PGDE students enroll for TRCN exam before completion of the Programme (PGDE)?

Sir, my question is that even without teaching practice, there are core courses to make up for the 31 Units required. Is Teaching Practice a Must?

1. Yes, you can register both 1st and 2nd semester courses available in your portal in your case because both 1st and second semester courses will be available in your portal.

2. YES, research project is part

3. TP is compulsory. You can see the course is marked C (core) and not E (elective).

4. The 31 units must include ALL CORE courses. And remember I said, of all the subject Methods listed, although marked CoRE, you are required to pick just one.

If I understand you well sir, irrespective of the course codes and the semester you decide to choose from; the total number of units that must be passed to meet the graduation requirements must be 31 core credit units ( Elective courses, not included). And as a necessity, even though other courses can be included to meet up with the 31 Compulsory units, you can't leave out Teaching Practice. Is that so sir?

In my first semester, I registered for 15 units and passed them all. I can see on my portal that Minimum number of credits required is 31 units, meaning I'll need to register more units right?

My questions please:

1. I can see that amongst the outstanding unit, both first and second semester courses were listed. Can I register first and second semester courses all together in a semester?

2. Is Research project part of the 31 Compulsory units required for graduation?

3. Is Teaching Practice compulsory?

4. Hence, minimum unit is 31, does this include electives taken?

Yes. You can. In NOUN, while some students are in first semester, others are in their second semester. Both semesters run concurrently anytime. This is the reason NOUN admit students every semester and not every session.

I enrolled for PGDE at NOUN in 2019, of which I completed my First Semester examination without any carryover. Thereafter, I abandoned the programme. Now, I want to continue the programme from where I stopped. Will my admission tenancy still be valid? Or I'll need to purchase another form.
