Romance › Re: Did I Push Him Away With My Attitude? by adabaraabdul: 12:31pm On Jan 10, 2020 |
geraldinai: Nairalanders, this is a long post but please read till the end.
My bf just broke up with me over what he termed incompatibility. This guy and I have been together for two years and we both loved each other. It was a long-distance relationship, he stays in Lagos while I schooled in another town in the west. I had no problem with the distance because I'm not the attention-craving type and I like my space.
He's a complete extrovert, while I'm an introvert(not to the extreme though) and this has been an issue most of the time. He complains that I'm too quiet and not on the same social level as him. I don't do social media like that while he's uploading new pictures every minute. I also didn't like the fact that he relates too well with girls; he had a lot of female friends and easily socializes with new ones. Well, I blended with that so well as I didn't see any trace of unfaithfulness in him.
Fast forward to late last year, there was a breakdown in our communication, he stopped calling and chatting as he used to, I asked him what the matter was but he said there's nothing. I was a bit scared if something went wrong with him and I asked again after some days, that was when he said he would tell me when the time comes, so I stopped asking. With all the signs he showed me, my mind was telling me he wanted a breakup but I didn't ask him further as I was preparing for my final exam and him breaking up with me that period would leave me devastated so I focused on my exam with the hope that after then, we would talk about it.
After my exam, I sent him a text apologizing and asked us to continue as we were but he didn't reply. He invited me over to his place and that was when he told me he's no longer interested in the relationship, that he has no feelings for me again. He gave one thousand and one reasons for us not to be together anymore. He said I'm less expressive, I agree with anything he says and does and that during the break in our communication, I didn't make efforts to find out why he did so and challenge him. Funnily enough, I didn't react when he told me, I just said it's all right as I envisaged it earlier. With the reasons he gave me, my heart was broken and felt there was no need to push further. He was surprised with how calm I was when he told me, personally, I don't believe in forcing someone to love me.
I moved on well but after a week when I was alone and reflecting, the feeling of guilt overwhelmed me that I probably pushed him away with my seemingly “not too caring” attitude. I see myself with him and I never thought we could separate. I showed love and care in my how way and in the best way, I know-how. I did love him wholeheartedly and he knew it but he seemed unable to cope with my private/ less emotional lifestyle. Nairalanders, did I actually push him away? what day is your birthday? And what day is his? |

themonk: Actually they shouldn’t give it to Boeing because it is an American company. They should give it to country or institution with neutral interest to analyze. it's a Boeing airplane and that's how it has always been. Iran doesn't sympathize with the bereaved. They should not mix politics with civil affairs. |

lahizak: So attacking the legacy of d past leaders of d state is now the best tin to do? Is there no way the court can be used to probe past leaders rather than tarnishing images.
Modified: to all of you guys mentioning me.
He haz already said he is taking it to court and we all know that he will win. That aside, one of u guys problem is that u dont even know politics and either unna like it or not the saraki's will always have a legacy in kwara state. 100years from now, the saraki's legacies will still be felt in kwara state. An ardent kwara citizen should say i'm wrong. And lastly, i am not a supporter of any politicians, wish all of dem can be gathered and burnt. However, if that cant be atleast let our leaders follow the appropriate channels, let them use their powers appropriately. Not to start seeking revenge like our darling Abdulrazak is doing. Same thing we seeing with Ganduje. Trust me if all leaders start doing wat dis man and ganduje are doing, nigeria will burn. Thats my piece, if u like understand it, if u dont u re on ur own gather and burn all politicians to what gain? From your post it is evident that you don't participate in politics. Politics is a always going to part of a progressive society and as such, I urge you to be active in it |

Politics › Re: Sowore, Dasuki: Garba Shehu Angry Over Media Reports, May Appeal Case by adabaraabdul: 7:23pm On Dec 25, 2019 |
agentakins: The Presidency has condemned some international news outlets ascribing the detention and release of the Convener of Revolution Now, Omoyele Sowore, to journalism.
Malam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, said Sowore was detained and later released on bail today by the Department of State Service (DSS) not due to his work as a journalist but because he called for a revolution to overthrow the democratically elected government of Nigeria.
Shehu made the clarification in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday.
The presidential aide, therefore, frowned at those ascribing his detention and release to his job as a journalist.
The statement read in part: “The Presidency wishes to clarify the release on bail of the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the February 2019 elections, Omowale Sowore
“Some international news outlets have mistakenly been describing his release as that of a journalist.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the Buhari administration has never, since coming into office in 2015, detained a journalist, seized copies of newspapers or shut down a medium of information.
“Sowore called for a revolution to overthrow the democratically elected government of Nigeria. He did so on television, and from a privileged position as the owner of a widely read digital newspaper run from the United States of America.
“He founded an organisation, Revolution Now, to launch, in their own words, “Days of Rage”, with the publicised purpose of fomenting mass civil unrest and the elected administration’s overthrow.
“No government will allow anybody to openly call for destabilization in the country and do nothing.
“The government believes strictly in observing the rule of law but must safeguard public security and will not allow trouble makers to incite the public and cause a breakdown of law and order.’’
Also, the presidential aide disclosed that Federal Government may appeal against the court judgments that granted bails to the former National Security Adviser, retired Col. Sambo Dasuki and Convener of #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore.
Malam Garba Shehu stated this in an interview with newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday while reacting to the presidential directive on the release of Dasuki and Sowore.
He said that the decision by the Nigerian government to release the affected persons on bail was informed by the need to observe the rules of the law.
“Not withstanding the right of the government which are very clear to it under the constitution of Nigeria to appeal this order for their release, to the Court of Appeal in fact to follow the entire judicial process leading up to the Supreme Court.
“The government has decided, as an important lesson, that compliance to the rule of law of the court of the land is important, government is asking them to go, is releasing them.
“The processes of their trials will continue and the government will be using the same process to assert its right also appealing the terms and conditions under which the court said they should be released.
“However, the President wants an important lesson to be taught in the country – this is that – `we will obey the order and they will be let go and the processes will go.”
https://dailypost.ng/2019/12/24/sowore-dasuki-presidency-angry-over-media-reports-may-appeal-case/ This man talks too much and often times out of point. Nobody is arguing about why He was arrested or more, the issue at ground before he was released was why is the government not obeying court orders? Simple. Why did it take so long for the government to comply to court order ? Case closed. |
Politics › Re: FIRS: Garba Shehu Reveals Why Fowler Was Not Reappointed by adabaraabdul: 4:26pm On Dec 23, 2019 |
valentineuwakwe: The Presidency has said that Babatunde Fowler’s tenure as chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), was not renewed because of his inability to generate enough revenue for the country.
Fowler, whose term of office expired on December 9, 2019, was replaced by Muhammad Nami.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Garba Shehu, while speaking with journalists at the weekend in Abuja, also said that it was not wrong for the federal government to borrow more money to finance infrastructure in the country.
“It is not a scandal to borrow, the bad thing about borrowing is when you deployed it to your pocket. This has happened in the past in this country, President Buhari is borrowing to do railway, to do East-West expressway, to do second Niger bridge, to do Mabilla power, to do Abuja-Kano expressway, to do Ajaokuta-Abuja gas pipeline.
“These are projects that are beneficial to the economy, these are basic infrastructure projects – railway, power – without which this country cannot achieve development.
“So, if you ask me, from my own understanding, the problem we have in this country is the revenue issue. We have a revenue problem because we are unable to generate as much money as it is needed to do more capital infrastructure and also service debt.
“Because of the low revenue earnings, people look at the size of our debt repayment and they scream. But government is doing something about this and I’m happy you have seen the change that has happened in FIRS, give them a chance, let see how they would perform. Government is optimistic that things will look upward and the revenue will improve. And once there is inflow that is sufficient to do a lot of these things, we may not even need to borrow,” Shehu said.
source: https://dailypost.ng/2019/12/23/firs-presidency-finally-opens-up-on-why-fowler-was-removed/ This Government boosts of tremendous revenue generation from almost all sectors yet we keep borrowing like never before. The same way this government claims that in the past moneys borrowed end up in personal pockets is the same way I feel that if true that increased revenue earnings from public sectors end up in personal pockets in this government. If not so let the government begin to explain to us why we are borrowing whilst making so much |

They would squander money that should have benefited millions of people Correction. He went to Dubai for medical purposes and he was illegally held there by interpol on request from the Nigerian Government. Well everyone is innocent until a competent court of law can prove otherwise beyond doubts. It is also sickening how our EFCC never follow due process when discharging her duties. For those people saying SAN Mike OzEK is always defending 'criminals, the same people shld be informed that everyone deserves a right to a lawyer, to a fair hearing |

You know your girl very much more than anyone here responding to your post. Piercing the nose and ear doesn't make or mean any lady is loose or somewhat it's just fashion or some kind of style . But if you don't like it, you can talk to her about it, moreover when you met her she wasn't having them. Talk it over with her and make an informed decision. But really I am miffed to know that you are considering not marrying her anymore just because of her new found style. |

Today the fear of EFCC is the beginning of wisdom. please what is the EFCC doing about corrupt political office holders and also civil servants. The same efforts the EFCC is using to arrest the machineries of 419 folks should also be applied to political and public service persons. |
