FamilyRe: Why Deceive Ourselves With This "Gender Equality" Phrase by Adaeze003(f): 7:35am On Feb 11, 2016
K9blunt:
Think we are abusing this equality of a thing.

Am not an advocate of feminism, equal rights.

I believe men are superior, because they are stronger, while women are delicate.

Rather we compliment each other , while the man is stronger in physical abilities, women are smarter and unlike men, have the abilities of managing many thoughts and ideas unlike man that can't handle multiple tasks.

Women should indeed be independent but not too independent when they get their men. We should be able to work hand in hand.

Men can't survive without the woman and vise versa.
I think what you mean is men have superior strength generally(because I'm pretty sure I'm physically stronger than some men somewhere)?

Not trying to change or influence your views but you saying men are superior and still trying to state things or areas you feel women are better than men is kinda counter productive.

But it's a good move anyway... It'll definitely come back better defined...

if a man APPROACH you! that means he choose you and if you accept him, that means you agree to his criteria or rather you match his criteria!

if you don't receive him, he will take it and give it to another person who accept his proposal.

The relationship between a man and woman isn't a master/servant relationship. .my goodness? Such mentality!! She was made from his ribs(his side) not a bone from his feet( a slave), even God commanded that the man MUST love his wife even as CHRIST loved the church ENOUGH TO DIE FOR IThuh How many masters DIE FOR THEIR SERVANTS(the reverse has been the case)?! You ONLY read the part of the bible you think favours men
...and you didn't insult me right?(where did that "you should be ashamed yourself" part come from?) I dish out what I get, get it!!? You keep digging yourself into more contradictions. Who needs the helphuh Who was sent to give help?? So if you ask for a loan from a bank...the loan needs you more? Or cocaine now needs an addict more?? Skewed thinking..but it's nobody's fault, some of you have been brought up with such mentality and read the bible downside up. The man needed help, he got it. I ask again?? Who needed the help??!!! If your friend lends you money...your friend needs you more? DONT GIVE A KICK IF YOU CANNOT TAKE A PUNCH!!!! I'm out!!

Some creatures are just....

So a lady makes a simple statement as "I put on what I like not what guys like" and automatically she's a feminist? Some even went ahead to compare with his slave masters(whites) who are to him better than his race?

I mean, if oyibo dey carry men for head, who be naija girls? Tsk... tsk... tsk...

I don't care if there are girls out there who live their lives according to what guys think but I think that is just... well lemme reserve my comment... before the feminist latch is put on me...

Reminds me of when I was trying to tell someone that a girl's life doesn't revolve around guys and he went all marriage bla bla bla. Yes, in marriage, men have influence on their wives but outside that, if you really think all we do is think about what men think or like and act based on that? You must be out of your mind... simple as that.

So that's how Damon killed everybody... Lol...

In any case, maybe he's still hallucinating.... And if it's in fact real, we'll, Stefan is still alive,he just broke his neck.... and as for Bonnie he can just heal her with Vampire Blood.... It's Caroline that may just be dead.. . Although it's possible he didn't stab her in the heart, plus the writers wouldn't just kill Caroline off..... I guess we shall see what happens next week smiley

Meanwhile, I figured they can't just kill Cammy off like that.... I knew she would return a Vampire, although I suspect some foul play on the part of Aurora, when she gave Cammy her blood to ingest before she killed herself..... I'm thinking there's something in that blood.... And from the way Cammy sounded and seemed after she turned, the way she was guzzling the bloodbags.... Seems a new ripper may have been born
Kill off Caroline when she's in the flash forwards? Plus her babies sef... that ain't happening brother...

As for cami, the actress is really good sha... I always saw cami as boring but now? I know we're in for a treat!

There's no risk in flushing. Besides the Lady must have been flushing before she got married. So, by experience, she wont go thru any risk.

Its even more better to flush SS pregnancy than keeping it, so you as a parent would gonna be passing lots of stress treating the child every now and then. Its also money consuming.
The child would hate u for keeping him/her.
Religiously, I dont fink its bad... If u say its bad, then what will you call Family Planning? Whereby injection is taken to prevent pregnancy. Why not allow fertilization to occour?
Religiously, it's bad... abortion is not same with taking pills or getting snipped to prevent pregnancy. Religiously, abortion is murder but with prevention, there's no need for the murder so to speak...

What's that saying again? Prevention is better than cure?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Unemployment And The Danger Of Personal Shyness: My Experience. by Adaeze003(f): 9:21am On Jan 30, 2016
Shyness and shame are two different things...

The thing is, as a graduate, you are automatically tuned to aspire to be better than those who didn't go to school. That doesn't mean that they won't or can't make more money than you.

I don't believe a graduate should drive keke or sell fruits or anything like that although lucrative, it's not for graduates.

As a graduate, unless you don't know what you did in school or you went about sorting and cheating your way through school, your job is to create solutions with your knowledge. Take for instance the guy who created an app for a cab service, he ain't driving the cab. I don't have much more examples probably because I'm in the computer field but there are accountants who own their own companies too, I heard of one who is a millionaire because he thought of a way to combine accountancy and IT.

The problem with Nigerians is the mindset, we go to school because everyone is going and we think once we graduate we'll get jobs but believe it or not, those days are over. We have this alive-school-job seek-get job-die mentality which is not bad but the school part, only a few people study what they know they want, some apply for engineering but because it's a tough place, the school throws maths at them and they say "ok well no be to get bsc?" which again is not bad but then you're struggling to pass but you won't leave which is not bad but then with time you get tired and at the end of the day you get a bsc by crook, you waste 4 years of your life but after all you have a bsc! Then someone is recruiting maths teachers somewhere and you can't even teach people in primary one!!! Or you go for youth service and you're running away from the maths you "studied" in school!!! How will anyone take you seriously!!!

We need to change our mentality about a whole lot of things...

As a graduate, you are meant to know a lot of theory so even if you don't find a job, it'll be time to think of ways to apply that knowledge to meet the needs in the society and not go to hire keke to ride biko... even that keke driver said he wants to go to school and own his business... imagine after he saves up, goes to school, I can bet my BlackBerry that he won't go back home riding that keke!

My 2kobo.

I learnt that Science has proven that AS and AS can marry. When the wife is pregnant, at two or three months of pregnancy, she should go do test so as to know the genotype of the baby.
If the test says the baby's genotype is SS, she should go and flush it.
But if the test says AA, or AS, she should keep it
Well, I think I'm a little religious and Nigerians in general are and might consider flushing AKA abortion as a big no no especially in marriage...

But then, are there no risks in the said "flushing"?

Desperation born out of what my dear huh Do you just wake up one morning to become desperate huh I suppose no. The op never disputed you getting married to whom u love and no one is deciding for you. The decision is yours. He said when occasion calls for it which is mostly inevitable you adjust so you don't lose what truly belongs to you to discontentment and subsequently pride.

Not to further belabour this, like you said we are humans we have brains to think and decide what we want. True! But selfish preference has rendered so many ladies out there almost hopeless.

You see as humans what we want isn't always what we need to move on. So are you going to go for just what you want because you want it even if it hurts you huh Life's decision should be broader than just what we envisaged in the nearest future. Take care.
Selfish preference?! Dude, selfish?? Reallyhuh? You are the one saying a man should love a woman but when I say a woman should love a man, I become selfish? Again, really??

Come to think of it, why in the name of NL should I not be selfish in picking a partner? Someone I intend to be with till death(imagine if God blesses us with 70 years together? shocked shocked) and you talk of selfish preference? I just can't wrap my head around that...

Like men can want things but when women do, they're selfish? WTH? This one sided mentality of most men is just disturbing and for people who claim they are logical?? Oga abeg just sit down biko...

RomanceThe Ogbanje Syndrome Aka Sickle Cell Anaemia... by Adaeze003(op): 9:06am On Jan 29, 2016
I know, I know... the topic is not romantic at all but then think about it, our forefathers probably said their SS children were ogbanje spirits... probably scolded them for coming to make them spend all their money when it wasn't their fault.

Ok that aside, now we know better but that doesn't change the fact that we're in any less of a pickle... Ehm ok, yes we're in less of a pickle but there's still a pickle. angry

So at some point in my life I got angry(like real anger oh) at people who would insist on marrying a carrier(AS) when they're carriers themselves and I remember once cautioning an advise seeking NLer not to try that. Well, I guess I didn't understand.

But when another human completely sweeps you off your feet... you know that point where you literally feel yourself breaking down the emotional walls(walls of steel oh cheesy) just to let someone in and then the dreaded question lands... "what's your genotype? " then you have this weird convo with yourself..

You: wait why is he asking?
You: he wouldn't care if he was AA rii?
You: well that's true after all I don't look SS...
You: OMG he's AS!

Lol! Well, the purpose of the thread?

To the AS folk, have you had an experience with another carrier? Do you think you'll even think about dating or getting married to a carrier?
Or did you get married to one?
Just to share experiences because I know some other people may be sailing the same boat trying to make the right decision. If it's too personal for you, just use the "a friend of mine" line, we'll understand. wink

To the AA folk, would have get married to a carrier? I know you think it's a no brainer after all there are no risks but ehm I've heard someone said he can't contaminate his bloodline? shocked shocked
