Business / Re: How Much Do I Need To Register A Business Name With CAC? by AdamsAbubakar(m): 9:42am On Sep 02, 2020
Akeem881:
Have you registered business name before? Am sure you have not. You only need a service of lawyer if you want to register for ltd. So don't stiff your nose in what you don't know. I registered my business name last year at CAC office in Kano where I base. Every thing was #11, 200. No third party. The CAC officials will register it for you withing 10 minutes.

This is absolutely not true!

You can't complete the process on your own!

CAC itself has empowered 3rd party guys to be doing the process and you have to go through them.

Please can I assign someone to collect my certificate for me?

Please if you're registering for anyone let all the information provided be that of the person, thank you.

Okay, but can I collect the certificate on the person's behalf when it is ready?

it is true every detail is correct except the certificate of competency he made mention, all other details are true,I did my registration and that of my brother from the comfort of my bed room,no third party needed for business registration only on company registration incorporated.. third-party is needed

So you didn't like travel to any head office?

In this instance you may use your email but you must affix the persons passport and he/she must also be the one to sign.

If you put your own passport and signature then it means that it's only you that can open a bank account and be the signatory for that business

Sorry, but does putting a signature not mean the person must be there with me to append it themselves? Because this person I'm about helping out won't be able to make it.
Business / Re: How Much Do I Need To Register A Business Name With CAC? by AdamsAbubakar(m): 8:42am On Sep 01, 2020

No you don't need to go to Abuja, you can start and complete the process yourself...just go to CAC website and register with your email address...

www.services.CAC.gov.ng

After that you submit 2 names and pay a search fee of about 700Naira

If the names are approved you and then you commence the registration process.

All payments are made online

Make sure you save copies of all online receipts you receive

Items you need:
Valid means of identification

An operational email account

A passport photograph

A certificate of competence in the field of area of the type of business you want to register

Your debit card with at least 11K for making payments

You also need access to a scanner cos there is a form you will fill online then later you print it then scan and upload after you have affixed your passport photograph and appended your signature

The whole process can be completed in about 1 week assuming you do everything properly and do not get a query.

NB- When filling the forms there is a section that asks if you need extra copies of certificates and documents, leave this blank. If you request for an extra certificate your fee will be higher.

After scanning the documents you want to upload make sure you name them appropriately so the CAC official who will process your application will not have difficulty identifying them

If you are based in Lagos I will recommend that you select Alausa as your preferred point of collection for your certificate of business name registration

Please help out, I'm in a similar dilemma. If you are registering a business on someone's behalf, do you need your personal email and passports or the email and passports of the person whom you're registering the business for?

Perfect answer for you:

iceboy4752:

This isn't making excuses for them. When you say bad roads and alcohol are the cause of road accidents, it doesn't mean you are making excuses for road accidents or trying to justify it. It only means you are trying to pinpoint some reasons why it happen. If that reason is addressed, there will be a little reduction in the rate of road accidents.

MRV101:
I beg to differ, 'yes' there are rising reasons that trigger rape of which indecent dressing is not one. Hello!!!! A rapist is a rapist. No reason whatsoever can justify rape no matter how you try to sugar coat this thread. You're just unbelievable trying to twist a sensitive matter.

all these rapist looking for an excuse, it's the laws in Saudi Arabia that reduced rape cases not decent dressing.

Indian women don't wear scanty clothes yet the rape case there is more because there is no law.

So children and babies also get raped because diapers are to scanty abi

all rapist and rapist apologies una no go die well. oloun

The punishment in Saudi Arabia is not harsh compared to other countries. Is life imprisonment or death sentence not worse than exile? Saudi Arabia records very low levels of various crimes including rape. Their morality is one of the key factors. The post said ".. Indecent dressing is not the only cause of rape.." I don't know why you intentionally ignored that part.

So why do women who are dressed fully covered including putting on a hijab still get raped?
Using your analysis, why does Saudi Arabia even record a rape case since their women are fully covered from head to toe?
Why do we have Hausa girls who dress up with ankara wrapper and head tie still get raped?
Why are minors raped? Cases of toddlers, 2 year olds are raped, is it that their diapers is also indecent dressing?
You the op are such a big idiot, it's quite obvious you are either a rapist or paedophile or even both and going by your name and previous posts am not surprised.

Crime / Opinion: Indecent Dressing Is Really One Of The Causes Of Rape by AdamsAbubakar(m): 4:21am On Jun 07, 2020
The truth should be the world's most bitter pill. When some of us maintain that indecent dressing is one of the causes of rape, some cyber attackers are quick to conclude that we are 'rape apologists.' They are quick to declare that babies and hijabis get raped too. Someone even poised that why are women not raped in beaches for dressing indecently? Of course the rapists are not really dumb to that extent, for they know they will be mobbed instantly by people there for attempting a criminal act. While it is true that babies and hijabis get raped, we must not forget that indecent dressing is not the only cause of rape, but just one out of many other reasons why it is perpetrated by rapists. Recent revelations show that some rapists heartlessly have carnal knowledge of babies because they were instructed by a spiritualist/babalawo/boka to do so in order to make quick money.
Ever wondered why a country like Saudi Arabia records as low as 0.2% of rape cases per year? Some may think it is because of their laws, but that is not the reality. A high level of morality and decency has been inculcated in these people. The punishment for rape under Islamic Law differs among scholars. It may include exile, crucifixion, amputation of legs or killing of the rapist if they used weapons on their victim(s) and threatened them.
A country like the US where rape is a heavy crime, and women supposedly have 'freedom' records one of the highest rates of rape in the world. Al-Jazeera reported in 2016 that more than 100,000 American women are raped yearly. This number would have greatly increased.
It is a well-known fact that a 'rugged dressing' by a female can easily arose a man's libido. When you wear a sexy dress, you are not only looking supposedly attractive but sexually inviting to predators who may not be nice enough to ask for your consent. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines sexy as "sexually suggestive or stimulating". This is exactly how you appear when you dress 'sexy.'
Contrary to the death penalty some are advocating for, the truth is, death penalty will never solve the problem. We have many bodies in Nigeria for example designed to fight corruption which is still thriving in all sectors. More attention should be given to the root of a problem. It is not until it grows into a tree that we will start thinking of which axe will be sharper to cut it down. Since the society is a product of various homes, the fight against rape should start from the root, our homes — charity they say begins at home. Parents should therefore be able to properly discuss sex education with their children and let them know that rape is wrong. If this is done to a good extent, we can start talking about the sanction/punishment which is secondary.
In conclusion, this post does not in anyway justify rape like some will say. It only points out a reason why it happens. To justify means to prove or show to be just, right, or reasonable. When you say bad roads cause accidents, you don't mean accidents are right or reasonable. It does not also mean you are oblivious of other causes of accident like alcohol, bad car condition or reckless driving. You are only speaking out against the bad roads and suggesting that they be fixed so that there will be less accidents.

You're suffering from attention deficiency syndrome.
It's called ADHD for short. You're not remembering because you do things on impulse, without thinking. You're hyper, always full of activity. It's not your fault but caused by some chemical imbalances in your brain and you're not alone , many have it undiagnosed .

I hate to admit it, but this best describes me.

ADHD, sometimes ago I wanted to return a screwdriver from the house to the car in a hotel a few houses away but in the same street. It was raining heavily and I remember opening the gate of the house, stepping out and then a blank, next thing I remember is re-entering the house with the screwdriver in my hand gone.
The memory of going to the hotel or putting the screwdriver in the car was just wiped out and I had to go back to confirm if I actually put it in the car.
Crazy thing

Do you also have this problem of not being able to focus on one thought. For example you are thinking of going to the market then unknowingly you start thinking of something dissimilar like the TV.

Exactly! This happens to me often that I sometimes digress in thought to something not meaningful. It has affected my decision-making process that I sometimes find it difficult to make that unique final decision.

Health / I Forget Things Easily: Should I Be Worried About This Condition? by AdamsAbubakar(m): 7:31am On Jun 03, 2020
I tend to forget where I keep my stuff easily, and it's really annoying. I may do something right now and forget it seconds later. Ironically, I remember things like names of people, what people said and the faces of people easily and accurately. I can still remember the surnames and names of my ex-classmates in secondary school perfectly, and the names and surnames of 202 people in my class at the University level.

My forgetfulness, however, petrifies me a lot as I'm 22 years old. What could be wrong? Should I be worried or it's normal at such an age?

Mods please help me push it to the FP let me get replies from the good people of NL. smiley

Phones / Re: What Does Error 404 Really Mean? by AdamsAbubakar(m): 5:40am On Mar 06, 2020
naijasensei:

On the internet the predominant protocol used is HTTP - Hyper Text Transfer Protocol. When you fire up a browser, and type in an address, you are making an HTTP request to another computer at the other end. When your browser or device makes an HTTP Request, it receives a corresponding HTTP Response. There are five classes of responses, namely:
1xx - Informational
2xx - Request received, request understood, status OK
3xx - Redirects
4xx - Client errors, request cannot be processed
5xx - Server errors, the request is valid but the server on the other end had difficulty processing the request.

An HTTP 404 response means the resource (an image, a page, a file, etc) is not available, it cannot be found on the server the request was sent to. As to why the number 404 was used, I really have no idea. But know that there are other less popular HTTP 4xx responses. For example, 400 - bad request, 401 - unauthorised, 403 - forbidden, 405 - method not allowed, etc.

You can get more information from https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_status_codes

I'm grateful.
Phones / Re: What Does Error 404 Really Mean? by AdamsAbubakar(m): 9:34pm On Mar 03, 2020
CaseTemplar:
HTTP error 404 (hyper text transfer protocol) simply means not found. Basically it means that the page you are trying to open could not be found on the website.
This could be a client-side situation which means either the page has been moved or the URL was not updated accordingly, or that you have made mistake in the spelling of the URL.

There's another one called Error 500; which means internal server error, which means there server can't process your request.

If you're asking why it is specifically called 404 and 500? I don't really know grin it just a code assigned to it in web and computer terminology, just like your University course codes like bio 101 and pys 201.

Bio101 is because it's for 100 level students and Pys201 for 200 level students. Anyway, your reply has been the best so far, thanks.

Sometimes when we try to access the internet on our phones or even computer systems, an obnoxious "error 404" message pops up.
I've always wondered why the number 404 is significant in representing an error. Why not any other number but this "404?"
