Even when she called Islam and its adherents several names, didn't u notice that my response was individualistic? And before I started paying her back in her coins, didn't u read my warning to her? Do u know u can be very annoying? Having read through how she insulted Islam, u are here quoting me for nonsense. And I notice some inferences in ur post which I think I should respond to accordingly. U said talking about prostitution, u know the most promiscuous tribe. Actually some muslim ladies can be promiscuous but u don't compare them with the tribe that travel the whole length and breath of this country and beyond for prostitution. Abuja, lagos, calabar, kano, Italy, Dubai, just name them. How many Hausa Muslim ladies have been killed in hotels, how many of them have been deported from foreign lands? And let me tell u, not all hausa speakers are Muslims cos even some igbos, Yorubas etc speak hausa fluently. If u are not satisfied with this then let's see how far we can go. How come you completely ignored all the problems plaguing Naija? The point is the govt has no business selling $ to religious tourists ( Christians and Muslims) when the president said on Al Jazerra "that those parents who can't afford black market rate to pay their children's school fees" should forget about sending their kids to school. If he could take such a stance why can't he take a stand against wasteful spending?
Nigerians living abroad are the largest source of income to Naija. Last year, they remitted $25bn to Naija, so allowing parents to send money to their kids, does two things- finish their education and come back to contribute or stay their make money and send back.
Just close to that amount for religious tourism is what Dangote got in order to keep his business afloat. He employs 10's of 1000's of Naija folks while religion doesn't. Why can't govt allow other businesses to access those funds at N199? What the contribution of religious tourism to Naija GDP? Negative, so why continue doing it? This is not a revenge mission govt, PDP did therefore, we must do threefold. Supporters of this govt voted because of what Martin Luther King Jr said about " the fierce urgency of now", but the political capital has been lost on telling us how bad we had under PDP without making a commensurate improvement to show us how good we're having it. A comparison is based on two or more tested conditions!! |

Orikinla: . I disagree. President Muhammadu Buhari is not God who can do instant miracles of change. He cannot clear the big mess of the 16 years of coruption and maladministration of former ruling party, PDP overnight.
He has not even implemented his first federal budget and you expect him to do wonders? Unrealistic expectations of Buhari are the problems of majority of Nigerians.
The National Assembly tampered with the budget for months to fool him, but he discovered they padded the budget so that their misappropriations of revenue allocations will continue as they have been doing from the past corrupt administrations.
Appointments of federal ministers were delayed, because the new ruling national party, All Progressives Congress (APC) wanted him to compromise his cardinal principles of probity and he refused. He does not want to repeat the costly mistakes of former President Goodluck Jonathan. Keep deluding yourself with their false narrative of 16 years of destruction by PDP, yet he imported them into his cabinet and govt. Amechi, Ngige, Atiku, Audu Ogbe.etc and some governors had ruled for 8 years- Tinubu and Fashola accounted for 16yrs in Lagos. Oshiomole is finishing his 8th ur in office, and he acknowledged that Yar'dua, a PDP president, funded his campaign. He got close to N500m from him to fund his campaign. Rochas, a PDP polictrickian who changed party like underwear!! Want to go back to 1999? In 1999, Naija had 500k telephone lines, but in 2015, but had 100m lines. In 1999, Naija GDP was about $200bn, but in 2015, it was over $500bn In 1999, minimum wage was N5k, but in 2015 it was N18k 1999, no Naija bank offered ATM cards nor had ATMs, but today they're at all nooks and crannies. 1999, No EFCC, and ICPC, but today GMB is using these agencies! 1999, foreign reserve was around $3bn, but in 2015, it was around $30bn with addition $bn in ECA. 1999, GPD per capita was less than $1000, but in 2015, it around $3k I definitely do not want to go back to 1999 and would want this govt to show me how it can better the record of PDP.. PDP didn't make Naija paradise, but APC must produce at least 30% of these records in its 4 years in order to be on tract to best PDP's record, but so far it has not started. Blaming is no plan and inaction is an action!! |

They expected more rate cuts into the negative territory and an increase in the Monetary Base. BOJ wanted to curtail the rising value of the Yen which is hurting export. They wanted their money to depreciate! We need to drive foreign capital and ordinarily increasing Base rate should have worked but not any more. Investors want to see stability, they want to know their money is safe! That's why after Brexit, German bonds yield moved into negative territory because people were looking for security and not yield. Since Rochas is saying that Ekweremadu is unfit to hold leadership position in the senate because of his party affiliation without mentioning that he switched to APC while still holding on to his elected position on APGA platform. I know it sounds complicated still, Tambuwal didn't lose his position as a speaker when he switched to APC even though PDP still had the majority Back to Atiku, Supreme Court ruled in Atiku's favour that "he shall not be removed from office nor excluded from political process for switching parties" the only way to remove these Politrickians is to muster a majority vote and impeach them! True, there are very good girls in Nigeria. Everywhere i hve been i hve always been amazed at how good natured, kind and understanding many girls i ve met are. But most are not "chicky" "classy" Just simple damsels with large hearts.
Thing is, most "modern" naija guys would not look at them twice because they aint at par or upto taste. And they miss out! They lose and cry after when one serpent takes her piece from them.
The prob with Nig guys, is that they lack good role models. For we girls, we are our greatest critics, thats why we have more good girls than good guys.
When a guy faults, his guy friends start making excuses for him. They call it the guy code. But they are not helping themselves @ all
Who knows, i may just end up with a nonnigerian even though i still like some Nig guys Who knows. No the problem is that most Naija see marriage as a meal ticket and therefore do not want to improve themselves. How come we have most girls in the unis and labor insisting that guys must be well off before they can go out? It's Naija mentality that marriage is an insurance policy against poverty but most girls don't want to pay the premium by working hard and being established. |
