The best of God is reserved for those who go all the way with Him.  Seriousness with God is the way of gloriousness in life. 

SCRIPTURE: And thou shalt say unto him, The Lord God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear. Exodus 7:16 

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The best of God is reserved for those who go far with Him. 

It is true that the two key proofs of dedication to God are worship and service. That is to worship and serve Him. 

Service is a major proof of our dedication to God. Profitable service equals productive living.When we serve God profitably, we live productively.  The devil is aware that there are profits in serving God, so, he does everything to fight your dedication to God and the dividends of that dedication. He wants you to be lukewarm, lethargic and complacent because he knows that fervent service in God produces fire-full results.

Now, there are temptations that hinder effective service and we are dealing with one of them today, and that is, the temptation not to go far with God in service to Him.

That was the first temptation that Pharaoh confronted the children of Israel with in Exodus 8:27. Pharaoh seemed to be saying; “You can do anything you want to do with God for as long as you do not do it too much.”

Not being too serious with God is a temptation that the devil always presents. Some people may tell you: “Don’t be a fanatic, don’t carry church on your head.  Don’t kill yourself. Do anything you want to do with God but take it easy, God understands.” These are evil counsels sponsored by the devil to discourage you from going all the way with God.

But beloved, the best of God is reserved for those who go far with Him.  The best of God is reserved for those who go all the way with Him.  Seriousness with God is the way of gloriousness in life.

The easiest way to fill your life with God’s Presence and deprive the devil of access to your life is through worship and praise.

SCRIPTURE: But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Psalm 22:3

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The easiest way to fill your life with God’s Presence and deprive the devil of access to your life is through worship and praise.

Worshipping and praising God is a very powerful force for the believer. Worship is an impregnable force against the enemy. 

That is why one of the greatest agenda of the devil is to make your problems or challenges your focus so as to divert your attention from worshipping and praising God. Whatever becomes your focus becomes your object of worship, and who you worship determines who responds to you in times of need. When your problems begin to drive you, then your progress begins to fade away. 

So, understand that there is a battle around your worship and you must win that battle if your welfare and victory in life must be intact. 

Now, why is worship so crucial and powerful?

Worship frustrates satanic presence and activity

Worship frustrates satanic presence and activity by attracting the Presence of God. The easiest way to fill your life with God’s Presence and deprive the devil of access to your life is through worship and praise (Psalm 32:7). The opposite is true. Any life that is filled with ingratitude, un-thankfulness, complaining, murmuring and grumbling is a life where the devil resides.

Now, one channel of worship is total surrender to God.

Total surrender to the Almighty God is your proof of worship. Surrender, to a real worshipper means that his will is not in competition with the Will of God. God Almighty is the only one who determines where you go and what you do with your life. That is worship.

Wisdom In The Fear Of The Lord

To avoid losses and regrets in life, wisdom is needed. It is not possible to experience a profitable life in this world without the engagement of wisdom. 

SCRIPTURE: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The fear of the Lord is the entry qualification for the school of wisdom.  

Wisdom is a principal thing in life. To avoid losses and regrets in life, wisdom is needed. It is not possible to experience a profitable life in this world without the engagement of wisdom. So, the absence of wisdom is the abundance of losses. People lose where wisdom is lacking. People even lose their souls in eternity ending up in hell when they fail to apply their hearts to wisdom. 

Throughout Scriptures, there were several men who walked with God, lived very outstanding lives and made impact in their generations by wisdom. People like Jacob, Joseph, David, Daniel and Solomon, etc. were men of wisdom. 

Now, in Proverbs 9:10, the Bible says, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom…

It is worthy of note that the fear of the Lord is the entry qualification for the school of wisdom.  Where the fear of the Lord is lacking, access to wisdom is never guaranteed. It is never possible to be qualified as a wise man in this Kingdom without the fear of the Lord. 

The reason why there are so many people on earth today with very unprofitable, regrettable behaviour and very regrettable eternity is the absence of the fear of the Lord.

Today, I welcome you to a life of wisdom. If wisdom is your desire, then the fear of the Lord is your entry requirement. The fear of God is also the guarantee that you will live peacefully in this world and enter eternity in heaven.

Beloved, to be independent of God is to be inefficient in life. It does not matter how successful a person looks, if that person is independent of God, he will be incompetent in life.

SCRIPTURE: Then the word of the Lord came to me saying before I formed thee in the belle I knew thee and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.  Jeremiah 1:4-5

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you were not needed, you would not have been created.

Previously, we have established that the destiny of man is God’s decision and design. God created man with the intention to fulfil purpose and destiny. We looked at some implications of our anchor scripture, and today, we shall be looking at more implications of it:

a) You were created because you were needed. This means that if you were not needed, you would not have been created. It does not matter who thinks you are insignificant, God who made you created you because you are needed.

 

b) Your value is not determined by the earth. Your value was decided by your Maker. So, if you want to understand how valuable you are, look up to your Maker. 

 

c) There is a place for you on earth. That is right! There is a place for you on earth and a work for you to do. Every invitation is preceded by preparation. God invited you to this world and that invitation was preceded by His preparation. 

 

d) A major key to the fulfilment of your destiny is your alignment with the Almighty, your Creator. Getting to know God’s mind and His plan for your life so you can live out the plan is critical to the fulfilment of your destiny. Studying God’s manual for living, which is the Bible and spending time with Him in fellowship are very important for your destiny fulfilment. 

Beloved, to be independent of God is to be inefficient in life. It does not matter how successful a person looks, if that person is independent of God, he will be incompetent in life. And the more buoyant your relationship with God, the more vibrant your destiny will be on earth.

Man's Creation And Destiny - God's Design

God is the force behind the destiny of man.

SCRIPTURE: Then the word of the Lord came to me saying before I formed thee in the belle I knew thee and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Jeremiah 1:4-5

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If it is evil, it cannot be God. If it is not peaceful, it cannot be God, and if it is not what is expected, it cannot be God. 

The word ‘destiny’ is one of the most misunderstood concepts on earth today. Some people think destiny means fate; others think that every misfortune that happens to a person is his destiny. But that is not true.

God is the force behind the destiny of man. And please note that if it is evil, it cannot be God. If it is not peaceful, it cannot be God, and if it is not what is expected, it cannot be God. 

Our anchor scripture makes it clear that man's creation was God's decision and design. The implication of this scripture (Jeremiah 1:4-5) is:

 

a) No one is an accident of creation. It does not matter what process brought you into this world, you are not a biological accident or the product of a cosmic accident. 

 

b) Man is a product of God's deliberate intention. That settles the question of whether God loves you or not. God sat down and thoughtfully calculated that you are to exist. There is no one that came into this world as a result of God's absent-mindedness.

 

c) Your parents participated but they were not the determinant of your existence. If your parents are not the determinant of your existence, then they are not permitted to define your destiny or your future. That is why what followed your parents must not necessarily follow you.

Beloved, do not look up to any human being to confirm your value. The most important opinion that matters to you should be the opinion of your Maker.

REMEMBER THIS: If it is evil, it cannot be God. If it is not peaceful, it cannot be God, and if it is not what is expected, it cannot be God.

What Are You Alive For?

To be without prayer, study of the Word, praying in the spirit and worship, and still feel normal is a challenge. It is like a man satisfied without oxygen. 

SCRIPTURE: For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.  Philippians 1:2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: For a person to live in sin, stay disconnected from the Presence of God and feel normal is a disaster about to happen. 

We understand from Scriptures that Abraham, without a doubt existed in his days as a generational blessing. He lived a life that even demons envied. Abraham is looked upon by everyone as a highly unusually fortunate personality. 

Now, what was Abraham’s secret? He was alive for only one thing and only one person, and that is Jehovah EL SHADDAI. He refused to give glory to any man for his blessings. 

Now, in order to exist as a generational blessing, there are questions for us to answer and if we can answer them correctly, then our blessing in this generation cannot be contested, and in eternity, it is confirmed:

 

1. What are you alive for? (Philippians 1:21). 

If it is not Christ, then there is no need to be alive. When your time to depart comes and you are no longer alive, what will be the implication of your absence? 

 

2. Who is the strength of your confidence in life?

Some trust in their beauty and others trust in their certificates. Some even trust in their spiritual activities but who is the strength of your confidence?

 

3. What drives you? 

What can be called your greatest passion on earth, to make money or to make impact? Is it to please God or to please self or people?

 

4. What gives you your greatest pleasure in life? 

What is it that gives you your greatest excitement in life?

Beloved, for a person to live in sin, stay disconnected from the Presence of God and feel normal is a disaster about to happen. To be without prayer, study of the Word, praying in the spirit and worship, and still feel normal is a challenge. It is like a man satisfied without oxygen. Live with eternity in mind and you will be a generational asset to your generation and to the Kingdom of God.

REMEMBER THIS: For a person to live in sin, stay disconnected from the Presence of God and feel normal is a disaster about to happen.

Distinction By Wisdom And Purpose

To follow the way of purpose is to end in the place of prominence 

SCRIPTURE: Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed. Ecclesiastes 8:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be wise is to rise and to rise is to shine.

It is clear from Scriptures that the way of wisdom is the way of stardom. To be wise is to rise and to rise is to shine. The wisdom of God is behind the making of kingdom stars. Joseph was a man of wisdom who was established in stardom in the land of Egypt. This same wisdom made Daniel a star in the land of Babylon. 

Now, one way of reaching the place of stardom is KNOWING YOUR PURPOSE for living.

The knowledge of purpose is pathway to distinction. God began to tell Jeremiah his purpose on the earth in Jeremiah 1:5. The purpose was made clear to Jeremiah and the knowledge of that purpose made him to stand out in his world.

 

Please, take note of the following points:

a) The way of purpose is the way of destiny distinction. 

Anyone who knows his purpose and follows that purpose can never end as a destitute in life (Daniel 1:.

 

b) To follow the way of purpose is to end in the place of prominence (Proverbs 22:29). A man who is diligent in his business and life’s assignment shall stand before great men. He shall not stand before ordinary people.

 

c) Life’s assignment is key to life’s enhancement and uplifting. 

The assignment of your life is what will produce the enhancement and uplifting for your life. This was seen in the life of Joseph in Genesis 41:36-44.

My counsel is, ask God to clearly reveal to you the purpose of your life (Habakkuk 2:1). And pursue your life’s purpose with everything you have got (Habakkuk 2:2-3).

The Profit Of Living Responsibly

To live well is to give life everything you have got. Whatever you are doing per time, give it everything you have got.

SCRIPTURE: Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. Ecclesiastes 9:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To live well is to give life everything you have got. 

Life on the earth is terminal, not eternal. Time hurries you into the future without your permission. Tomorrow will come whether you are ready for it or not. The best time to use what you have is while you are alive. Any knowledge or wisdom you have is to be deployed while you are alive.

To live well is to give life everything you have got. Whatever you are doing per time, give it everything you have got. To live excitedly, you must live responsibly. In order to do what God wants you to do with your life within the space of time you have, you must live impactfully.

Now, what is the profit of living responsibly?

From the experience of Joseph in Egypt, we can see the following:

1. Responsibility brings opportunity. 

Responsibility will do for you what job cannot do. Those who work only for salary never gain opportunities in life.

 

2. Responsibility brings authority.

A responsible person will attain authority in life. If God sees that you are qualified for promotion, nothing can stop you. Productivity counts far more than longevity.

 

3. Responsibility unveils possibilities.

What does not appear possible becomes possible because someone is responsible.

 

4. Responsibility is the way of results. 

Responsibility is the assignment of man but the result is the assignment of God. 

 

5. Responsibility is the way of royalty.

Responsibility confers upon the responsible, royalty and dominion.

Beloved, make up your mind to be responsible. Embrace the lifestyle of diligence and you shall fulfil your days on earth in Jesus Name.

For a person whose life must be in order, God must be first in his life. A disordered life is a product of disordered priorities. 

SCRIPTURE: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your life is in order only when your priorities are in order.

Wisdom is a critical requirement for a profitable life, both in time and in eternity. Wisdom is the mystery behind every outstanding life, spiritually and otherwise. And the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom as we can see from our anchor scripture.

It is important to take note of the following points concerning the wisdom for living a profitable life:

 

a. Your life is in order only when your priorities are in order. 

The first priority of a man should be God. Next is his family, then work, rest and recreation, etc. But where other things come before God, it is an inversion of priority. That is a life out of order. 

 

b. Your life is out of order when your priorities are out of order. 

For a person whose life must be in order, God must be first in his life. A disordered life is a product of disordered priorities. 

 

c. Until you get it right with God, you never get it right in this life and in the life to come. 

God remains the number one priority of man both in time and in eternity.

 

d. Until you are on track with God, you will be out of track with life.

To be out of touch with God is to be out of touch with life. 

 

e. Until first things are put first in your life, everything else will be out of order. 

 

f. Wisdom is never in place where the fear of God is out of place. 

 

g. It is foolish to live independent of God. 

Living as if you are the owner of your life is a disaster.

 

h. It is unprofitable to live with self as the centre of life.

 

Beloved, if your desire is to access wisdom from God, then it is the fear of the Lord that gives you access.

Faith In Trying Times

When your faith is expressed, God is compelled into action. 

SCRIPTURE: Then believed they his words; they sang his praise. Psalm 106:12

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When your faith is expressed, God is compelled into action. 

Worshipping God, especially in hard and trying times is a rare but true expression of faith. It is crucial because worshipping God in the midst of conflict is an expression of faith in Him.

From our anchor scripture, we understand that: Then believed they his words; they sang his praise. This means when you worship God, it confirms that you believe His Word, so you are singing His praise. For instance, you will be full of praise when you believe God’s Word that said:

…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Psalms 30:5

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:1

The devil wants you to mourn but you are dancing, because you believe God’s Word. But this is the most exciting part of it: anywhere God sees faith, He moves into action, for without faith, it is impossible to please (move) God (Hebrews 11:6).

So, praise God, especially in battles, in conflicts, and in the midst of situations you don’t understand, etc. When your faith is expressed, God is compelled into action.

UNDERSTANDING THE POWER TO TREAD

There is enough power in you to function as though the devil does not exist.

SCRIPTURE: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Go after the devil, break his head, destroy his works and proceed without consequence.  

Previously, we learnt that as children of God, one of our privileges in God is the power to tread. We discovered that God has given his children the power to tread upon snakes and scorpions and over all the powers of the enemy. This implies treading on deception, danger, disease and death.

Now, what does the power to tread refer to?

1. It is the power to dominate the enemy and his forces of deception, danger, disease and death. 

2. It is the power to decimate and decapitate the enemy and have dominion. 

3.  It is the power to do with the enemy and his forces as you please.   

4. It is the power to bring the enemy and his forces under control and into subjection. 

5. It is the power to walk in mastery and victory over the enemy and his forces. 

Now, another way to render our anchor Scripture is: Go after the devil, break his head, destroy his works and proceed without consequence, Luke 10:19 (paraphrased).

This means, there is enough power in you to function as though the devil does not exist.

Today, I prophesy the release of that power on your life, in Jesus’ Name. 

Congratulations for your freedom from the agenda and dominion of the enemy.

Activating Divine Direction Through Joy And Worship

To live in depression is to become a candidate for exemption from Divine direction. It is never possible for you to attract the Presence of God which is a prerequisite for Divine direction when you are living in depression. 

SCRIPTURE: Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance. Psalm 89:15

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you cannot be happy, you can never attract God and if you cannot attract God, you are never qualified for His direction.

It is clear from our anchor Scripture that if you want to attract Divine direction and fulfil God’s purpose for your generation, living in worship and excitement is not negotiable. A life of joy and worship is a non-negotiable requirement in the journey of life and destiny.

To live in depression is to become a candidate for exemption from Divine direction. It is never possible for you to attract the Presence of God which is a prerequisite for Divine direction when you are living in depression. The Presence of God is sustained by the attitude of joy. If you cannot be happy, you can never attract God and if you cannot attract God, you are never qualified for His direction. 

An attack on your joy is an attack on Divine direction for your life. An attack on your joy is an attack on your Oil or anointing because the Oil is sustained by joy.  And the devil knows that everything is tied to your joy, so he confronts you all the time with the spell of joylessness. 

Please take note of this: it is not possible to feel low and fly high. Low feeling and high flight do not go together. If you are not joyful, you can never hear God and if you cannot hear God, you cannot know His direction for your life.

Beloved, if you are a victim of lack of Divine direction, I encourage you today to connect the Presence of God through joy and excitement and the lifestyle of worship. This will guarantee your access to Divine direction in life. 

REMEMBER THIS: If you cannot be happy, you can never attract God and if you cannot attract God, you are never qualified for His direction.

The Riches Of God's Grace

God sacrificed Christ for His riches to be made available to us. The outcome or the reason Christ went to Calvary is called Grace.

SCRIPTURE: But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10 

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Grace covers our errors and colours our efforts. 

The grace of God is a major distinguishing factor in the lives of people. The difference between two children of God is the dimension of grace that they have access to. This is because grace is in levels. There is grace; there is great grace; there is exceeding grace, and then multiplied grace. 

That is why Apostle Peter admonished us to grow in grace in 2 Peter 3:18. That means, the level of grace you have now can increase. The difference between Paul the apostle and the other apostles was grace. He said in our anchor scripture above: But by the grace of God I am what I am. That is, ‘If you like my results, what you really need is the grace with which I operate.’

The question is, what is grace? Grace can be defined with the acronym: G-R-A-C-E, that is: God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. This means that God sacrificed Christ for His riches to be made available to us. This means that the outcome or the reason Christ went to Calvary is called Grace.

In other quarters, grace has also been seen as God’s unmerited and underserved favour. While we were yet sinners Christ died for us (Romans 5:. That was what made grace what it is. 

Thirdly, I will like to define grace as God’s seal of approval and acceptance. That is to say, I have approved you and accepted you through the Blood of my Son, so take grace. This makes grace to cover our errors and colour our efforts. 

Now, one key to accessing grace is lowliness or humility. God resists the proud but He gives grace to the humble (James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5). So, proud people are excused from grace. That is why to be proud is to easily crash. The humbler you get, the more of God’s Grace you connect (Proverbs 3:34). God gives grace to those who appear little in their own eyes. He gives grace to the unassuming, the simple, the humble, the lowly, the one you can easily pass by and ignore.

The Necessity Of Prayer And Fasting

When the prayer altar begins to decay, power begins to escape. 

SCRIPTURE: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Ephesians 6:18 

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The hour of prayer is the hour of power.

There are two things that happen in the human body without ceasing: the beating of the heart and the breathing in and out of air, except in death. 

This is the same way prayer and fasting should be to the believer. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, pray without ceasing. This means, pray like you breathe; pray unceasingly like your heart beats. The meaning is: prayer, just like faith, is the livewire of the saint. 

Now, why is this so? I will give you two reasons:

1. Prayer and fasting is doorway to the supernatural. 

In Acts 3:1, it was at the hour of prayer that Peter and John encountered a crippled man who was lame from his mother’s womb. Power was applied on the man and the spirit of paralysis was instantly electrocuted and he was healed. The hour of prayer is the hour of power. Supernatural power answers to the key of prayer. Every decadence in prayer results in a bankruptcy of power. When the prayer altar begins to decay, power begins to escape. 

 

2. Prayer and fasting is the principal tool for the nullification of the agenda of hell against the church. Matthew 16:18 says, I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail; which means the gates of hell will always attempt, the only thing is that they cannot prevail. And it does not prevail because of the force of prayer (Acts 4:29-33). 

 

Now, what are the keys to effective praying and fasting?

1. Maintaining a private, personal praying and fasting schedule. 

It is called a consecrational prayer and fast. Peter did this in Acts 10:9-10 and then God opened doors for him.

 

2. Participating in corporate praying and fasting. 

This is joining forces with the brethren to pray (Acts 12:5). It is good to pray on your own but it is important to pray with the saints. These two must be combined together to produce very dangerous effect against the powers of hell. 

 

REMEMBER THIS: The hour of prayer is the hour of power.

It takes the strong to do exploits. Exploits belong to the strong, the aggressive, the violent and the audacious

SCRIPTURE: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The strength of your spirit determines the extent of your victory in the conflicts of life.

It is true that spiritual power and strength are necessary for the journey of destiny. We live in days where we cannot afford to be weak spiritually. The welfare of your destiny is determined by the buoyancy of your spirit.  Nobody can be weak spiritually and have a future in life. 

Now, why is spiritual strength necessary? 

1. The strength of your spirit determines the extent of your victory in the conflicts of life (Ephesians 6:10-13).

It was Bishop Oyedepo who said that life is warfare and not funfair, a battlefield and not a playground. Your success or victory in battle is determined by your strength. When your strength becomes higher than that of the opponent, the battle becomes cheap to win.

 

2. The strength of your spirit determines the extent of your exploits (Daniel11:32). 

It takes the strong to do exploits. Exploits refers to attention-commanding results. Exploits belong to the strong, the aggressive, the violent and the audacious.

Today, I decree the release of spiritual audacity and fervency on you. The grace to step into the realm of results that will command your generation’s attention is released on you. Receive the grace for the kind of exploits that will destroy the devil and his kingdom, in Jesus’ Name.

Where the worship of God is released, you do not struggle for the way to open.

SCRIPTURE: When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language; Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion. The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. Psalm 114:1-8

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The release of worship is the creation of openings.

The worship of God is a way maker. There are truths that are repeated in Scriptures in order for us not to miss them in life. One of such truths is the truth about worship. Worship houses God. That is to say, worship cannot be present and God is absent. God lives in worship. Judah (which means worship) was his sanctuary…(Psalm 114:2)

The presence of worship releases dominion. Israel was his dominion...(Psalm 114:2).  Every time worship is released, a dominion mantle is released. That was why in the midst of war, the children of Israel offered worship and dominated their enemies instantly.

The release of worship is the creation of openings. The sea fled means the sea gave way (Psalm 114:3). Where the worship of God is released, you do not struggle for the way to open.

The mountains skipped like rams… (Psalm 114:4) The climate of worship is the demolition of obstacles.

Beloved, as you worship God, forget the problems that you have and focus on God and the way will open for you; dominion will be released unto you and obstacles will bow for you, in Jesus’ Name.

Your Character And Your Destiny

Your destiny, your potential and life’s assignment are at the mercy of your character. If you are doing nothing about your character, then you are doing nothing about your destiny.  

SCRIPTURE: Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 1 Corinthians 15:33

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you are doing nothing about your character, you are doing nothing about your destiny. 

Yesterday, we were made to understand that character is existing in the realm of consistent positive action or behaviour.We also understood that what would market us in this life and in eternity is our character and that our character can speak for us in areas where certificate and beauty cannot speak for us.

Today, we want to look at the necessity of character, especially as it applies to our destiny. 

Now, why is character necessary?

Character determines destiny.

Your future hangs on your nature. Samson was a man of very high destiny which was prophesied from the womb of his mother. He was filled with the Spirit of God from the womb, a Nazarite. The Spirit of God moved on him at will. As a teenager, he would tear a lion with his bare hands. But he was not careful, he kept running from one prostitute to another until the final one arrested him. Delilah became his disaster (Judges 16:20). Lack of character ruined his destiny. 

The devil is toying with the lives of many people because of lack of character. Your destiny, your potential and life’s assignment are at the mercy of your character. If you are doing nothing about your character, then you are doing nothing about your destiny.  

My counsel is, work on your character. Character requires workmanship because we live in a world that is consistently confronting our character. We live in a generation where you need to watch your character consistently in order to avoid sin and a consequential eternity in hell. The Lord shall help us, in Jesus’ Name.

REMEMBER THIS: If you are doing nothing about your character, you are doing nothing about your destiny.

Beloved, understand that what is going to market us in time and in eternity is character. Time is coming when your character will speak for you in areas where your certificate and beauty cannot speak for you.

SCRIPTURE: Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. Daniel 6:4

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A person of character consistently exists and acts positively and correctly.

The life of Daniel as portrayed by our anchor Scripture clearly exemplified character. 

Character is existing in the realm of consistent positive action or behaviour. A person of character consistently exists and acts positively and correctly. 

Our anchor Scripture reveals Daniel as a faithful person. The word ‘faithful’ means existence in the realm of consistent positive character or behaviour. It is a realm of reliability, dependability and trust-ability. That is, you know what to expect from the person. 

It is not what a man does occasionally, but what he does consistently that defines his character. If he does not lie, then on a consistent basis, you expect him not to lie. If he does not steal, then you expect him not to steal consistently. The character of the eagle, for instance is to soar, so it is for a person of character; negative actions are strong exceptions in his life. When people hear that such a man tells a lie, they will say it is unlike him, something must be wrong somewhere. That is character. 

Beloved, understand that what is going to market us in time and in eternity is character. Time is coming when your character will speak for you in areas where your certificate and beauty cannot speak for you. As you cooperate with God to work on your character, God is going to help you, in Jesus’ Name.

REMEMBER THIS: A person of character consistently exists and acts positively and correctly.

The character of a person determines the quality of his life on earth and in eternity. 

SCRIPTURE: Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? Exodus 15:11

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Character is living not just for the immediate but for the ultimate.

There is an irretrievable connection between glory and character. The character of a person determines the quality of his life on earth and in eternity. Our anchor Scripture clearly points out the implication of Godly character (holiness) on gloriousness. We see that if a life must be glorious, it must happen on the platform of holiness. No one can see the gloriousness of God except he operates in holiness. Therefore, nothing can be glorious without character.  

A man of character lives an open life like an open book (Acts 24:16). If you are a person of character, who you are publicly is who you are privately. A man of character exists with a positive conviction, not for consensus. Character involves a purposeful existence, not pleasurable existence. Character is living not just for the immediate but for the ultimate. 

A man of character will sacrifice today’s gain for tomorrow’s profit. He knows what it means to delay gratification. Character means living thoughtfully instead of thoughtlessly. You weigh your options and embark on the most profitable course of action, profitable for time and eternity.

Please understand that your character is more important than your reputation.Your reputation is what people think of you, but your character is who you are. So, it is possible to have a positive reputation with a negative character. Your greatest focus should be in the development of your character. Reputation will take care of itself once character is taken care of. 

Beloved, my counsel is, work on your character. Fact is, character is not a destination but a journey. This means you can be better today than you were yesterday as you work on your character. 

REMEMBER THIS: Character is living not just for the immediate but for the ultimate.

Enhancing Excellence By Sharpening Mentality

The degree of mentality you involve in your activity determines the level of quality you produce. 

SCRIPTURE: If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct. Ecclesiastes 10:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The degree of mentality you involve in your activity determines the level of quality you produce. 

Excellence is the quality or state of being outstanding and superior in performance and outcome. It is the state of optimal existence and performance. It is living far above average existence. It is living life at its best, a life of quality, distinction and merit. 

Now, one way to enhance excellence in life is by sharpening one’s mentality. The degree of mentality you involve in your activity determines the level of quality you produce. 

Let me give you an illustration: Two men were given a blunt axe each and a deadline of two days to fell twenty trees each. One of the men felt that the deadline was too short and went on straight to start cutting the trees with his blunt axe. The other man took time to sharpen his axe before engaging it in cutting the trees. In a short time, he fell about ten trees while the man with the blunt axe was still on the first tree. Eventually, the man with the blunt axe suffered much and achieved little, while the man who sharpened his axe achieved so much in a short time because he decided to sharpen the cutting edge of his tool. 

Beloved, sharpen your mentality; update and upgrade yourself. Ensure that you are not outdated. The degree of your brain you engage determines the level of your excellence on earth. If you don’t update yourself, you will become out-dated in life. If you want to go up in life, you must be an avid reader. Ensure that you are gaining knowledge from books, CDs, etc. on a consistent basis. If you need to take another degree, a course or training, do it. But by all means, never be stagnant in life.
