Prayer is the platform for character transformation. People who spend time with God experience character transformation 

SCRIPTURE: And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Matthew 6:12

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: We are cleansed from the filthiness of life at the place of prayer.

It has been confirmed that one of the privileges and opportunities of life given to us by God is the privilege and opportunity of prayer. Prayer achieves many things in the life of a Christian. Prayer has multifaceted dimensions and benefits. 

Earlier in our study, we saw that prayer is a platform for the maintenance of true holiness and godliness (Matthew 6:12). 

Today, we shall take an in-depth look at the implication of prayer as a platform for the maintenance of true holiness and godliness. 

1. Prayer is the platform for true spiritual cleansing in life (Matthew 6:12).

The place of prayer is like the place where we go to have a spiritual bath. We are cleansed from every filthiness

2. Prayer is the platform for the establishment of the lifestyle of uprightness (Matthew 6:12).

We acquire the lifestyle of uprightness when we live in God’s Presence through prayer. Prayer enhances uprightness of life. 

3. Prayer is the platform for character transformation. People who spend time with God experience character transformation (Luke 9:29). This is why prayer will keep you from sin and sin will keep you from praying. No sinner has a concrete prayer life. Is it easy for someone to pray after taking alcohol or committing immorality? No! So, prayer is the platform for character transformation.

Let me give you three counsels: 

a) Take a spiritual bath always at the place of prayer. 

b) Let the uprightness of life that proceeds from God’s Presence infiltrate your life.

c) Ask God for character transformation at the place of prayer.

Remember this: We are cleansed from the filthiness of life at the place of prayer.

Fulfilment And Satisfaction Through Prayer

When we come to the altar of prayer to access our inheritance in God, we are positioned for fulfilment and satisfaction in life.

SCRIPTURE: And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. Joel 2:26.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When we come to the altar of prayer to access our inheritance in God, we are positioned for fulfilment and satisfaction in life.

In our previous study, we saw that prayer is the platform for accessing our inheritance in God. We noted, amongst other things, that prayer gives us the platform for accessing Divine promises and supernatural supplies.

Now, what is the outcome for this dimension of prayer where we access our inheritance in God? 

1. A life of fulfilment and satisfaction. 

One outcome of accessing our inheritance in God is a life of fulfilment and satisfaction; a life devoid of the distraction of lack. So, when we come to the altar of prayer to access our inheritance in God, we are positioned for fulfilment and satisfaction in life (Joel 2:26).

2. The life of focused spirituality.

Our spirituality is focused when we access our inheritance in God. The Scripture says that you shall eat in plenty and praise the Lord (Joel 2:26). You see, nothing distracts spirituality like scarcity; nothing attacks spirituality like poverty. Poverty is a distraction of spirituality; scarcity is a distraction of intimacy with God. The mind you should have used to meditate on Scriptures is now used to calculate the challenges of house rent, children’s school fees, food to eat, etc. There are people who sit in church and their mind is not on the message being preached because they are wondering what to eat after service. Today, I decree the expiration of the days of scarcity and shortage in your life in Jesus’ Name.

3. The life of impact both on humanity and eternity (1 Kings 9:10-11)

You will be able to touch lives positively when you access your inheritance in God. When you access your inheritance in God, you can build a church, wipe out scarcity from families and employ thousands of people, etc. because you have the means to do so (1 Kings 9:10-11). This is why we do more good with money than without money. So, when some people, out of poverty of understanding, say that the church should not preach to people about money, what they mean is that people should be left to die in poverty and wretchedness. God forbid! 

Beloved, make up your mind to access your inheritance in God so you can live a life of maximum impact on earth.

Remember this: When we come to the altar of prayer to access our inheritance in God, we are positioned for fulfilment and satisfaction in life.

Prayer is an altar for the attack of needs and wants in life. 

SCRIPTURE: Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Prayer gives us the platform for accessing our inheritance in God.

Paul, in the Book of First Thessalonians Chapter Five and Verse Seventeen, admonished us to pray without ceasing. Now, one of the things we do without ceasing is breathing. If we are to pray without ceasing just as we breathe, it means that prayer is meant to be a ceaseless or continuous practice of the child of God. Prayer is the life of a Christian. 

Previously, we noted that prayer is multifaceted. And today, we shall look at one of the multifaceted dimensions of prayer.

Now, one of the multifaceted dimensions of prayer is that prayer is a platform for accessing our inheritance in God (Matthew 6:11). Prayer gives us the platform for accessing our inheritance in God. This is what Jesus meant as He taught us how to pray when He said, “Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11).

The question therefore is, when we say that prayer is a platform for accessing our inheritance, what do we mean? 

1. Prayer is a platform for accessing Divine promises (Matthew 6:11).

Prayer is a platform for the delivery of Divine packages. We take delivery of what has been packaged for us at the place of prayer.

2. Prayer is the platform for accessing supernatural supply. 

“Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11) means accessing supernatural supplies. Prayer is the place where we make demands on God for supernatural supplies. That is, supplies beyond natural. 

3. Prayer is a platform for placing demands on our God-ordained benefits (Matthew 6:11).

At the place of prayer, we make demands on the benefits God has ordained for our lives. 

4. Prayer is the platform for the attack of needs and wants in our lives (Matthew 6:11).

Prayer is an altar for the attack of needs and wants in life. When we say needs and wants, we are not just referring to money alone, but every other essential necessity of life.

Beloved, my counsel is, make up your mind to access Divine promises and supernatural supplies. Make demands on your God-ordained benefits, and attack the needs and wants in your life at the place of prayer. 

God gives you when you ask Him. “…ye have not, because ye ask not.”(James 4:2).

Remember this: Prayer gives us the platform for accessing our inheritance in God.

Previously, we saw that prayer is the platform for the establishment of the Rule and Will of God in the earth (Matthew 6:10). And the establishment of His Rule and Will means the enthronement of His Almightiness in the affairs of men. It also means the enthronement of His rule and will on earth and the dethronement of the enemy.

Now, the question is, what is the implication of the establishment of the Rule and Will of God?

1. It is the establishment of the climate and condition of heaven on the earth (Matthew 6:10).

“…Your will be done in earth as it is in heaven…” means the establishment of the climate or condition of heaven on earth. So, prayer can make a person’s life to be like heaven on earth (Deuteronomy 11:20-21). Therefore, heaven-on-earth experience for a person, a family, a nation happens at the altar of prayer.

2. It is the fulfilment of the purpose of God on the earth.

Prayer makes a person to fulfil God’s purpose on the earth. That is, at the place of prayer, we make God to do what He wants, where He wants to do it and how He wants to do it. At the place of prayer, you tell God, “O Lord, do what you want in my life, in my family, in my community, in the church and in the nation. Do it Lord, how you want it done.” This is what prayer achieves. It is at the place of prayer that what God has purposed is enforced to happen (Psalm 89:34).

3. It is the fulfilment of the destiny of man.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Destiny is fulfilled at the place of prayer.

In summary, when you insist that His Kingdom come, and His Will be done in your life; the outcome is that you will step into the climate of heaven on earth; you will see the purpose of God fulfilled and your destiny will be realized.



Beloved, I decree that you shall fulfil your destiny in Jesus’ Name.

THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE WILL OF GOD ON EARTH

When we pray, we give God the platform to establish His Rule and Will on earth as it is in heaven, but when we don’t pray, we give the devil the chance to establish his own rule and will on the earth.

SCRIPTURE: Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When we pray, we give God the platform to establish His Rule and Will on earth as it is in heaven.

It has been established that prayer is the platform for the establishment of the Rule and Will of God in the earth (Matthew 6:10). Through prayer, the purpose of God is established on earth as it is in heaven.

When we pray, we give God the platform to establish His Rule and Will on earth as it is in heaven, but when we don’t pray, we give the devil the chance to establish his own rule and will on the earth. Now, when we say that prayer is the platform for the establishment of the Rule and Will of God on earth, what do we mean? It means that:

1. Prayer is the platform for the enthronement of the Almighty in the affairs of men (Matthew 6:10).

At the place of prayer, we enthrone the Almightiness of God in our lives, families, communities and nations. This is one reason why as a church, we are passionate about our nation, Nigeria. This is why we pray for Nigeria day and night. This is why we pray always that evil cannot rule and reign in our nation but only righteousness. Prayer gives us the platform to enthrone the Almighty in the affairs of men.

2. Prayer is a platform for the enthronement of God’s Rule and Will on the earth (Matthew 6:10).

At the place of prayer, we enforce what God wants. At the place of prayer, we enforce the Rule and Will of God as He wants it.

3. Prayer is the platform for the dethronement of the enemy.

When the Rule and Will of God is enforced (Matthew 6:10), the enemy is dethroned. So, at the place of prayer, we cause the devil to lose his throne where evil thrones seem to be in charge of the lives and affairs of men, families, communities and nations.

Beloved, insist on the dethronement of the enemy and the enthronement of the will and rule of God in your life at the place of prayer.

What Will Thanksgiving Do?

Appreciation for what God did before is qualification for what God will do again. 

SCRIPTURE: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Matthew 6:9.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Appreciation of what God did before, is qualification for what He will do again.

Prayer, as we have seen from our previous studies, is not just an avenue for petition and supplication but a platform for adoration and submission to God. This is why prayer is the platform for the offering of thanks, praise and worship to God (Matthew 6:9). Prayer is not only a place to approach God for what He can do; it is also a place to approach God in appreciation and celebration of Who He is.

Now, we shall look at what thanksgiving, praise and worship to God will achieve at the place of prayer:

1. Appreciation for what He did before is qualification for what He will do again. 

Appreciation for what God did before is qualification for what God will do again. Psalms 103:1-2 says, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits”. Appreciation for the past sets the pace for manifestation in the future. As David appreciated God for his deliverance from the lion and the bear, he was delivered from Goliath (1 Samuel 17:34-50). Appreciation of what He did before is qualification for what He will do again. 

2. Celebrating His character in praise is attracting His Presence.

When you celebrate His character in praise, you attract His Presence. This is because His praise is His house. There are people who live in Diamond or Gold houses; others live in Glass houses but God lives in praise (Ps. 22:3). So, those who know how to praise God have the capacity to both connect and sustain His Presence. 

3. Submission in worship guarantees the manifestation of His Almightiness. 

At the place of worship, we prostrate, submit and bow before God. When we submit to Him in worship, we experience His Almightiness. In Acts 16:25-26, Paul and Silas, in prison, praised and worshipped, and God the Almighty showed up. Therefore, make the choice to worship Him in order to experience His Almightiness in your life.

Remember this: Appreciation for what God did before is qualification for what He will do again.

Offering Thanks, Praise And Worship To God

The place of prayer is not only a place for asking God for things but also for thanking God for things. It is when you thank well that you can ask well. 

SCRIPTURE: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Matthew 6:9.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Prayer is the platform for the offering of thanks, Praise and worship to God.

It has been established that the understanding of the subject of prayer is key to maximizing the benefits of prayer and living an outstanding life on the earth. Prayer is of multifaceted dimensions. One of such dimensions we earlier mentioned in a previous study is that prayer is the offering of thanks, praise and worship to God (Matthew 6:9b)

Now, we shall explore some key thoughts on prayer as thanksgiving, praise and worship:

1. The objective of prayer is not only petition and supplications but also adoration and submission. “…hallowed be thy name…” (Matthew 6:9b) implies the prayer of adoration and submission.

 

2. Prayer is not just a place to approach God for what He can do; it is a place to approach God for Who He is. (Matthew 6:9b).

At the place of prayer, we offer thanks, praise and worship to God not only because of what He has done but also for Who He is.

 

3. Prayer is not just a place for asking; it is a place for thanking (Matthew 6:9b).

The place of prayer is not only a place for asking God for things but also for thanking God for things. It is when you thank well that you can ask well. If you notice the order or sequence of prayer in Matthew 6:9-13, you will understand that thanking precedes asking.  That is, “...Our father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name…” precedes “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread”. So, until you thank well, you can’t ask well. Until your thanking is acceptable, your asking is not welcome. There are many “askings” without “thankings”. And God is wondering why it is so.

What is my counsel to you today? Ensure that you thank God always, not only because of what He has done for you but also for Who He is to you. 

Remember this: Prayer is the platform for the offering of thanks, Praise and worship to God.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Clean hands, not crooked hands, facilitate the Blessing of the Lord.

Yesterday, we saw the power of the Blessing. Through that, we can confidently conclude that the Blessing of God is a major secret of living a successful and fulfilled life on earth.

The truth is, there are secrets behind every conquest or achievement in life. Nothing happens without a trigger; there can be no effect without a cause. In the same manner, there are secrets to the Blessing of God. And today, we shall be looking at some of those secrets:

 

1. The lifestyle of uprightness (Psalm 24:4-6).

Clean hands, not crooked hands, facilitate the Blessing of the Lord. So, anything that enters your hand, life or heart that is not clean comes to kill your Blessing. Anything you possess that was not given to you by God does not add to you, it takes something from your life.

 

2. The pursuit of God (Psalm 24:6)

If you pursue God and put Him first in your life, no devil, witch or wizard can put you last. You can’t put God first and come last in life. It is not possible!

 

3. The lifestyle of giving and sacrifice (Luke 6:38). 

Until you are a giver, you may end up a beggar even as a child of God. Generosity towards God and man is the doorway to authentic prosperity.

 

4. Existence as a blessing (Genesis 12:2)

When you become a blessing to others, God becomes a blessing to you. What you make happen for others, God will make happen for you.

 

5. Connection and submission to blessed spiritual authority (Hebrews 7:7). When you have a blessed spiritual authority speaking blessings over your life, curses are not permitted around your life. The blessing you see around your life is as strong as the blessing you see over your life. 

 

And I declare that you are blessed. As a lover and seeker of God and His Kingdom, within the next 24 hours, a blessing that will change your story is coming your way in Jesus’ Name.

The Blessing is behind the making of the blessed. The Blessing processes people from emptiness to fullness.

SCRIPTURE: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:28

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The blessing processes people from emptiness to fullness.

One of the most powerful forces on earth is the force of the Blessing. The difference between a blessed person and a non-blessed person is like the difference between daylight and night time; it is very drastic. And the truth is that you cannot be blessed and not know it.

Now, we are going to look at what is in the Blessing that makes it worth craving for. That is, what is the power of the Blessing?

 

1. The Making of the Blessed

The Blessing is behind the making of the blessed. The Blessing processes people from emptiness to fullness (Proverb 10:22).

 

2. The Acceleration of Life and Destiny

The Blessing of God is the force behind acceleration in life. The Blessing accelerates the life and destiny of the blessed. A blessed man or woman is not permitted to be stranded (Gen. 26:12-13).

 

3. The Preservation of Life and Destiny

The Blessing acts as a preservative for the life and destiny of the blessed. Blessed people are not waste-able (Isaiah 65:.

 

4. Generational Establishment

The Blessing establishes the generation of the blessed. Blessed people do not give birth to useless children (Psalm 112:.1-2)

 

5. Guaranteed Fulfilment

The Blessing guarantees the fulfilment of the life and destiny of the blessed (Prov. 10:22)

 

6. Mental Fertilization 

The Blessing fertilizes mentality. Mental fertility is a major product of the Blessing. Blessed people are highly cerebral (Gen. 41:39).

 

Abraham transferred the blessing to Isaac; Isaac transferred it to Jacob, and Jacob is the Israel that we know today as a nation. The nation of Israel is a blessed nation; the Jews are some of the brainiest people on earth today. The blessing produces productive reasoning, that is, wealth-generating reasoning. Isaac invented what we would call “Irrigation farming.” Despite the famine, he sowed and harvested hundred folds because he had a crop-watering system (Genesis 26:13).

The Blessing will facilitate mental calculation and generate ideas that can multiply your resources. The Blessing produces strategic reasoning, the ability to reason your way out of every challenging situation. It produces creative reasoning, bringing new things into existence (Genesis 30:37). 

Beloved, desire the Blessing and do all it takes to have it. And I declare by the prophetic mantle on my life that you are blessed!

Connecting The Nature Of God Through Prayer

Prayer gives us the opportunity to connect the Nature of God. 

SCRIPTURE: But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Prayer is the opportunity to be transformed into His nature and likeness.

It has been established that prayer provides many good opportunities in the life of the prayerful. Through prayer, many things are made possible in the life of the child of God. We saw in our previous study that prayer offers us the opportunity to know God and His Mind and Will concerning our life or situations around us (Hosea 6:1-3) (Genesis 18:17). 

Today, we shall be looking at another thing that prayer makes possible for the prayerful. 

Prayer gives us the opportunity to connect the Nature of God. According to our anchor Scripture, as we behold the glory of the Lord in His Presence at the place of prayer, we are transformed into His glorious Image. Prayer gives us the opportunity to be transformed into His nature and likeness. You know, association brings assimilation. You begin to talk and look like someone you admire and spend time with. This is why after living together for a while, a husband and his wife begin to look alike, think alike, reason alike, make jokes alike, etc. Sometime ago, some people said that one of my daughters looked like me and at another time, they said that she looked like her mother. At the beginning, my wife and I may not have looked alike facially but after many years, people can now look at one of our children and say, “the child looks like the mother and also like the father.” This is because association brings assimilation. 

Take note of this as long as you live: you begin to look like God as you spend time with Him. You are changed from glory to glory as you spend time with God (2 Corinthians 3:18). What a privilege and favour to spend time with God! The result is, when demons see you, they think that they are seeing God and they will begin to run. 

Beloved, I counsel you today: spend time with God always. And you will begin to look like Him.

Remember this: Prayer is the opportunity to be transformed into His nature and likeness.

Knowing God And His Mind Through Prayer

The closer you get to God at the place of prayer, the more of His Will and Mind for your life you will know.

SCRIPTURE: Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up… Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord…Hosea 6:1,3a.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Communion with God gives people the opportunity to really know the God they serve.

In our previous study, we saw what prayer entails. One of them is that prayer is the platform for man’s communion with God.

Today, we want to look at what that communion with God achieves in the life of the prayerful. The question is, when a man prays and communes with God, what does that achieve in his life? 

 

1. The opportunity to know God (Hosea 6:1,3a).

Communion with God gives people the opportunity to really know the God they serve. Hosea 6:1,3a says, “Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up… Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord….”

You cannot know a person you don’t spend time with. You really get to know people as you spend time with them. For instance, people could be in courtship for many years, yet they may not know each other well until they get married. This is because after marriage, they spend more time together and it would be difficult to hide things from each other then. Prayer makes you to know God. And the people that know their God shall be strong and do exploits (Daniel 11:32b). 

 

2. The opportunity to know God’s mind and will for your life (Habakkuk 2:1).

The closer you get to God at the place of prayer, the more of His Will and Mind for your life you will know. You will know what He wants you to do as you spend time with Him. Before God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, He revealed His mind to Abraham at the place of prayer (Genesis 18:17). So, the place of prayer is the place where the secrets of God are made known to men. 

What God wants you to do in your life, in your business, in your career, etc. is revealed to you at the place of prayer. That means the more prayerful people are, the greater access they have to the will of God for their lives.

My counsel is, make up your mind to pray consistently. Refuse to live a “prayer-less” life.

Remember this: Communion with God gives people the opportunity to really know the God they serve.

More Understanding About Prayer

At the place of prayer, we intersect, interfere, and interrupt satanic operations and orchestrations. At the place of prayer, we are delivered from evil; we are made to escape evil.

SCRIPTURE: Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. Matthew 6:11-13.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: At the place of prayer, we access what is given to us by God.

It is very clear in life and also from the Scripture that understanding is key to outstanding life and destiny. Every venture in life becomes outstanding with understanding. Peter stood out from the rest of the disciples because of his understanding of the Master, Jesus (Matthew 16:15-19). 

In the same manner, understanding the subject of prayer is key to maximizing the benefits of prayer and standing out in life.

Earlier, we saw what prayer entails. We noted that prayer is the platform for communion between God and man; the platform for the offering of thanks, praise and worship to God and also the platform for the establishment of the rule and will of God in the earth.

 

Now, we shall look at three other things that prayer entails:

1. Prayer is a platform for accessing our inheritance in God (Matthew 6:11).

“…Give us this day our daily bread...”entails accessing our inheritance in God. At the place of prayer, we access what is given to us by God. We connect what God has in store for us at the place of prayer. Prayer gives us the platform to access our inheritance in God.  

 

2. Prayer is a platform for the maintenance of true holiness and Godliness (Matthew 6:12). 

“…And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors…” This means, at the place of prayer, we receive cleansing. At the place of prayer, we ask God to forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespassed against us. Prayer keeps people from sin, and sin keeps people from praying. At the place of prayer, we receive the maintenance of true holiness and Godliness.

 

3. Prayer is a platform for the frustration or the abortion of the agenda of the enemy (Matthew 6:13a).

“…And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil…”  This means, prayer is the platform for the frustration or the abortion of the agenda of the enemy in the lives of people. It is at the place of prayer that we arrest the enemy’s recklessness. At the place of prayer, we intersect, interfere, and interrupt satanic operations and orchestrations. At the place of prayer, we are delivered from evil; we are made to escape evil.

Beloved, you can see that prayer is beyond just going to God because there is a need; prayer is multifaceted. So, make up your mind to maximize the multifaceted dimensions and benefits of prayer.

Remember this: At the place of prayer, we access what is given to us by God.

Character: A Key To Divine Direction

Character is not just powerful; character is power. The real power of a man is the strength of his character. 

SCRIPTURE: The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them. Proverbs 11:3.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Iniquity brings confusion but character guarantees Divine guidance and direction.

Character is a principal force in life and destiny. Character is not just powerful; character is power. The real power of a man is the strength of his character. The real power of a man is not his financial power, muscular power, occult power, etc. but his character power.

The silence of character is louder than the utterance of compromise. This means, the silence of people of character weighs heavier than the utterance of normal people without character. 

Now, what is the power of positive character? 

We shall be looking at one of the powers of positive character today, and that is the fact that Character guarantees Divine guidance and direction.

Iniquity brings confusion but character guarantees Divine guidance and direction (Proverbs 11:3). Integrity brings guidance. Character supplies direction. Uprightness brings direction (Proverbs 21:29). Righteousness brings brightness and unrighteousness invites darkness (Psalm 112:4). This is why sinners cannot find their way in life as long as they remain in sin. Remember that when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they were disconnected from the Presence of God, the Voice of God and consequently driven from the garden to find their way in life. Before they sinned, they had relationship with God. They always heard the Voice of the Lord God in the garden (Gen. 3:. But when they fell into sin, God sent them away from the garden of Eden (Genesis 3:23). They no longer enjoyed the Presence of God or heard the Voice of God and as a result, they did whatever they wanted with their lives. 

Please take note of this: every time you allow iniquity in your life, you disconnect yourself from the Presence of God. You lose access to the Voice of God, and ultimately, you are cut off from Divine direction. The outcome is, you will begin to stumble in life. You will not know what to do with your life because you are confused. But that will not your portion in Jesus’ Name.

My counsel is, make up your mind to live in integrity so you can be a candidate for Divine direction. Let integrity guide you to your destiny. Live in uprightness. Maintain a positive character.

UNDERSTANDING PRAYER

Prayer is a platform where we enforce and establish the will, purpose and agenda of God in the earth as it is in heaven. 

SCRIPTURE: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9-10.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Prayer is a platform for communion between God and man. 

The subject of prayer is one of the most misunderstood subjects in Christendom. Many people do not actually understand what prayer is all about. There are people who think that prayer only happens when they face a challenge or have a need. So, they have no business praying except there is a challenge or a need. And this is why such people can live for weeks, months and even a whole year without praying until there is a challenge. Beloved, is this what prayer is all about? Certainly Not.

Now, the question is, what is prayer all about? 

1. Prayer is a platform for communion between God and man (Matthew 6:9a). 

“…Our Father which art in heaven…” portrays communion or relationship dimension of prayer. Prayer is a platform for communion between God and man. 

2. Prayer is a platform for the offering of thanks, praise and worship to God (Matthew 6:9b). 

“…hallowed be thy name…” entails the worship dimension of prayer. There is a dimension of prayer that the only reason to pray is the offering of thanks, praise and worship to God. This is called prayer of adoration. So, prayer is not only about asking God for something but also the offering of thanks, praise and worship to God.  

3. Prayer is the platform for the establishment of the rule and will of God in the earth (Matthew 6:10). 

“…Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven…” (Matthew 6:10). This entails the establishment of the rule and will of God in the earth. One reason for our concern, passion and prayer for our nation, Nigeria is that what is happening here, like in most places in the world today, is contrary to the will of God for a people. So, prayer is a platform where we enforce and establish the will, purpose and agenda of God in the earth as it is in heaven. It is a platform where we enforce what God wants in our lives.

Beloved, having understood what prayer entails, my counsel is, make up your mind to pray effectively. Make prayer a platform for a buoyant communion with God, offering thanks, praise and worship to Him and establishing His rule and will on the earth.
