The Quest For Pleasure - A sign Of The End Time

The craving for self-pleasure is the root of many vices. It is for the sake of self-pleasure that people engage in dirty competition.

SCRIPTURE: For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark. Matthew 24:38

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Beware of the strategies of satan to make people engage in the pleasures of this world and end in hell.

Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that a major sign of the end time is existence in pleasure.

In the end time, people will exist just for fleshly pleasure; they will eat and drink only for pleasure. The flesh will become the god of many people. People will live just for the sole purpose of gratifying the flesh. 

It is important to know that what people call “secular humanism” is nothing but man being a god to himself, and living solely for himself. So, in the end time, the sins of the flesh will multiply; the devil will give people abundance of flesh-gratifying agenda to fulfil. 

In the last days, the devil will orchestrate everything to make sure that people are busy with the flesh. He engages people in the abundance of internet games, video games, social media distractions, etc. just to keep them occupied with the flesh at the expense of their spirituality and their souls. 

Today, luxurious objects of pleasure are everywhere just for the sake of fleshly gratification. For example, before you talk of the 2020 Model of an automobile, the 2021 Model is ready. I even heard that many automobile companies have already designed up to 2060 Model and are only waiting for them to be released at the right time.  

Today, many young girls are into prostitution because they want to look fine, have expensive shoes and dresses, and have the latest mobile phone, preferably the iPhone. They move about with vanities all over their body in the form of seductive dressings and outlandish accessories and makeups. They put five rings in one finger, five ear rings in one ear and wear nose rings, anklets, etc. They pierce their tongue and other unlikely body parts, all in the name of self-pleasure.

Now, what is the reason behind the scourge of kidnapping that we see today? Why do people steal money just to drink alcohol, take cocaine, buy cars, houses etc.? What about ritual killing, armed robbery, hired assassination, etc.? Why do people sit in government offices and embezzle public fund? The reason is self-gratification, self-pleasure and vanity. 

The craving for self-pleasure is the root of many vices. It is for the sake of self-pleasure that people engage in dirty competition. They buy houses abroad because their friends have houses abroad. They want to travel to London because their colleagues have been to Paris. The question is: if you have one hundred houses, how many of those houses will you sleep in, in one night? And when you die, how many houses will be buried along with you? These are the questions to ponder on.

Beloved, beware of the vanities of the flesh. Beware of the strategies of satan to make people engage in the pleasures of this world and end in hell.

THE END TIME AND THE ABUNDANCE OF UNBELIEF

Another sign of the end time is the abundance of unbelief. Unbelief makes people not to take God or His Word seriously. 

SCRIPTURE: Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not high-minded, but fear: Romans 11:20.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There are people who will despise you today when you preach to them just like they despised Noah when he was building the ark. 

In our previous studies, we looked at some signs of the end time. We saw that the end time is characterised by the abundance of iniquity and the deficiency of passion for God.

Now, another sign of the end time is the abundance of unbelief. Unbelief makes people not to take God or His Word seriously. When people don’t take God seriously or believe His Word, it is a glaring sign of the end time. 

Scornfulness is one way through which unbelief is expressed. Psalm 1:1 says, Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 

This means, many people will not believe that God means business with His Word. They will not believe that the righteous God can create a terrible hell for unrepentant mankind. They believe that there is no place called hell fire, and so it is not possible to be cast into hell. In fact, they will laugh at or make mockery of the message about heaven and hell. They will not believe that the world will someday come to an end or that the end is near. Even some preachers of the gospel are not spared by this plague of unbelief. It is unfortunate that some preachers preach that God will not send anybody to hell. They even tell people that “The question of heaven and hell” is an out-dated theology. Maybe they have forgotten how God rained fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah because of iniquity (Gen. 19:24). They ignored how the flood wiped out the human race because of wickedness in the days of Noah (Genesis 7:17-24). 

There are people who will despise you today when you preach to them just like they despised Noah when he was building the ark (Matthew 24:36-39). There are people who call genuine and sincere Christians out-dated people. They mock you when you tell them about the end time. 

If you are in doubt about the existence of heaven and hell, think about these questions: what would you lose if you lived in the consciousness of heaven and hell? And what would you lose if by the time you died, you discovered there was no heaven and hell? Nothing! But what if you lived without the consciousness of heaven and hell and discovered after death that there was hell? It would be an eternal loss; it would be too late to amend your ways at that time.

So, the abundance of unbelief is a sign of the end time. My counsel is, keep on believing and following God. Refuse to doubt God and His Word.

We are in the end time, a perilous time characterised by strength reduction. It is a time where people’s spiritual strength, prayer life, fasting life, etc. will decrease. 

SCRIPTURE: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 Timothy 3:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: We are in the end time, a perilous time characterised by spiritual strength reduction.

Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that the last days are perilous times. We are in the end of time which is characterised by loveless-ness and selfishness. Many people have become covetous, boastful, proud, blasphemous, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

Now, one implication of the perilous time is that it is a strength-reducing time. The end time is the time when the strength of people will be reduced. We are in the end time, a perilous time characterised by strength reduction. It is a time where people’s spiritual strength, prayer life, fasting life, etc. will decrease. 

Now, there are Christians who don’t even know what it is to fast.  They eat every day and never set apart any day to wait on God. They have no prayer life and Bible-study schedule. Even some pastors struggle with their prayer life; they are unable to pray fervently, study their Bible consistently and fast regularly because of the end time plague of spiritual lethargy. Spiritual strength reduction is a symptom of the last days. 

Sometime ago, I heard of a country in the continent of Asia where you would not see anyone in church if you called for a night vigil because of the low spiritual temperature of people in that place. When you notice a massive reduction in the spiritual strength of people, it is a signal that we are in the end of the age.

Beloved, I want you to assess yourself; the first time you gave your life to the Lord, how was your prayer life, and how is it now? When you first came to Christ, how was the intensity of your study of the Word, and how is it now? Can you compare your fire for evangelism when you first came to the Lord with how it is now? Please examine yourself critically. If you notice a reduction in your spiritual intensity, it is a sign that the end time may be closing in on you. My counsel is, by all means, return to your first love for God. 

Remember this: We are in the end time, a perilous time characterised by spiritual strength reduction.

The end time and the plague of backsliding

Spiritual coldness has also become a major plague wreaking havoc in the lives of many Christians in this end time. 

SCRIPTURE: And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:12.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The epidemic of backsliding is a sign of the end time.

It is a fact that a major feature of the end time is the growing lack of passion for God (Matt. 24:12). Due to the escalation of iniquity, the love for both God and people has waxed cold today. Spiritual coldness has also become a major plague wreaking havoc in the lives of many Christians in this end time. 

Now, there are signs of spiritual coldness. There are symptoms to show low spiritual temperature. In our study today, we shall look at the state of people with low spiritual temperature.

One sign of low spiritual temperature is struggle with one’s spirituality. This struggle usually culminates in backsliding or pulling back from the faith. The epidemic of backsliding is a sign of the end time.

Today, a sister who was once strong in the Lord can backslide to a point of marrying an unbeliever. And she will no longer be able to maintain her Christian testimony. The abundance of iniquity has caused her love for God to wax cold, thereby making her to backslide. 

There was a man who used to be impactful for God, but backslid. His wife quarrelled with him and pushed him out of the house, and into the hands of “Jezebels”. Suddenly, this once impactful man of God began to go out with different women and eventually contracted HIV/AIDS and died. It was a very sad day for me when I heard of his tragic end. I wept as I saw this once lively brother lay lifeless like a stick.

Sometime ago, I talked to a young man who said to me, “Sir, I was so heavily anointed in the past that I made great impact. I could lay hands on people and see unusual results but now, I see myself doing things that I am ashamed of telling anyone about”.  Now, this same young man smokes and drinks at alcoholic joints. Some of the people he once preached to, asked him: “Are you not the person who used to be on fire for God?” He denied, and told them that he was not the same person they knew. This was because his life then and his life now are two worlds apart. This shall not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

Beloved, my counsel to you is, refuse to be carried away by the spiritual lethargy of this age. Make up your mind to remain on fire for God always.

Remember this: The epidemic of backsliding is a sign of the end time.

Today, you see Christians struggle with their prayer life. People of spiritual fire are losing their fire and passion for God; people of integrity are losing their integrity because of the abundance of iniquity. 

SCRIPTURE: And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:12.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Indeed when iniquity abounds, the love of many grows cold. 

Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that one of the signs of the end time is the escalation of iniquity. This is what we saw in our previous studies.

Now, another sign of the end time is the deficiency of passion for God (Matthew 24:12).

In our days, the passion or love of many people for God has grown cold just as it was in the days of Noah. Today, you see Christians struggle with their prayer life. People of spiritual fire are losing their fire and passion for God; people of integrity are losing their integrity because of the abundance of iniquity. Prayer warriors are becoming prayer strugglers. This is a sign that we are in the end time.

Today, it is common to see a once vibrant and “fire-full” young man become cold in the Lord. He used to be a man on fire burning for God, but today, you wonder if he is the same person who was a one-time fellowship president, prayer band leader and evangelism coordinator on campus. When you look at him today, you can’t relate his past life with his present lifestyle. This is because the abundance of iniquity has quenched his spiritual fire. 

These days, most Christians, when they step into some public offices and engage in certain associations, that is the end of their Christianity and testimony of righteousness. 

I used to know a young man in those days. Any time he stepped into a place, demons would be screaming out because of the unusual anointing he carried. But after some time, he lost that anointing, and today, he has no connection with ministry. Indeed when iniquity abounds, the love of many grows cold (Matthew 24:12). 

Beloved, I would like you to check the quality and intensity of your passion for God; assess your prayer life. Maybe you were burning for God in the past. Are you still burning for God now? When you notice a reduction in your passion for God and His Presence, it could be a sign of end time passivity. When someone who used to love God passionately is now cold towards God today, it may be a sign that the end time has taken its toll on him. My counsel is: by all means, refuse to let your fire go down. 

Remember this: Indeed when iniquity abounds, the love of many grows cold.

We are created to have intimate relationship with our Father, not to be decieved by religions and religion leaders. If she's yours, she will support your new life style, if she's not, she will flee. Don't be deceived by your heart and emotions. I didn't say start going to one church or go and meet one pastor.

Evil is on the increase because we are close to the end of the age.

SCRIPTURE: And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:12.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To live in the iniquity of this generation is to lose your consciousness of the coming of Christ.

Earlier, we established that we are in the end time, the end of the age. One sign of the end time as we earlier noted, is the abundance of iniquity (Matthew 24:12). 

Now, what are the iniquities we see in our days? We shall highlight just a few of them.

Sometime ago, I watched a video clip on a YouTube channel about a two year-old boy who would smoke a minimum of two packets of cigarette a day. When his father was interviewed on the lifestyle of his child, he said, “We introduced him to cigarette smoking when he was few months old. The moment he is through smoking one, he would cry for another one”. What a world! This child was introduced to this dangerous habit because of the abundance of iniquity in the end time.

I also read in a paper how a lady went to the police station to report a case of a girl who was raped to the point of bleeding to death. Very terrible! 

Evil is on the increase because we are close to the end of the age.

Please know this: we are closer to the end of time now than any other time in the history of the world. 

Today, in government and private offices, iniquity will confront you if you want to do things legally. One is usually confronted with the temptation to compromise either by giving or taking a bribe to succeed in whatever you want to do.

We live in a generation where a young lady in the university is usually confronted with the immoral demands of a wicked lecturer who wants to sleep with her before she could pass her exams. And she risks failing her exams if she refuses the lecturer’s immoral advances. And these days, lecturers tell students openly, “If you want me to help you, you know what to do. One good turn deserves another. You know what others do”. This is happening because of the abundance of iniquity. 

Sometime ago, I spoke to a girl on phone. She was eighteen at that time but she was under a serious obsession for immorality. If a man did not come to her for immorality, she would go out to look for a man. She said she started this immoral act at the age of five. Very pathetic! 

So, anywhere you look, iniquity is staring at you. 

Beloved, there is no generation that has been confronted with iniquity like ours. To live in the iniquity of this generation is to lose your consciousness of the coming of Christ. By all means, refuse to take part in the iniquity of the world even though we are in the world (John 17:14-16). 

Remember this: To live in the iniquity of this generation is to lose your consciousness of the coming of Christ.

The escalation of iniquity in our days is a pointer to the fact that we are in the end of the age.

SCRIPTURE: And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you… And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:3-4, 12.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The escalation of iniquity in our days is a pointer to the fact that we are in the end of the age.

You are welcome to the month of August, the eighth month of the year, 2020. We have seen the faithfulness of God in our lives as individuals, families, church and nation from the beginning of the year till date. We give Him the praise for the gift of life.

The world we live in is going through perilous times. Current happenings in our generation obviously show that we are in the end of time. We are in the last days. 

Sometime ago, I gave a relation of mine a book about heaven and hell to read. After going through the book, he was blessed and said to me, “Sir, the world is coming to an end! The things I read in the book are real! God is gracious for making us to know things about eternity while we are still alive”. After hearing these words, I was deeply touched.

Now, the end time is characterised by signs (Matthew 24:3-44). It is very important to draw the attention of people to these signs of the end. This is because the consciousness of consequence imparts caution to life’s actions.

We shall, therefore, begin to look at these signs of the end time. 

One of the signs of the end time is the abundance of iniquity (Matt. 24:12).

Today, there is multiplicity of iniquity anywhere you turn. There is an escalation of evil everywhere you go.

Sometime ago, we prayed for a young girl who was just eleven at the time but she was already the second in command in the witchcraft world. She paralysed her father and killed two of her siblings, including her elder sister who lived abroad, for not sending money to her. She was employed as a nanny in a man’s house in Abuja, Nigeria. It was only by the mercy of God that the baby she took care of did not fall victim to her witchcraft.

When the man who employed her as a nanny noticed her witchcraft activities, he placed a copy of the “Seeds of Destiny” devotional on her head and anointed her, and immediately, she became restless and began to confess her witchcraft activities. 

One day, she went out for a witchcraft meeting and while returning, she landed on the roof of a house physically. She wore a chaplet on her neck which was removed and set on fire but it didn’t burn initially. When it eventually started burning, the girl turned into a snake. This is not what we read in newspaper or watched in a movie. It is a true life story.

Beloved, we live in a world of abundance of iniquity, and this is a major sign of the end time. 

My counsel is, refuse to take part in the iniquity and compromise of this age. Keep your garment clean for the soon-coming King, Jesus Christ.

To exist in distinction and excellence is to exist above obscurity. It is to exist with positive notoriety. No man, woman, friend or enemy can say he/she is not aware of your existence. Nobody can claim ignorance of your impact on earth.

It has been established that understanding is key to fulfilment in life. What is not defined cannot be found, and what you don’t understand, you cannot undertake. 

Earlier in our previous studies, we saw what it means to exist in excellence and distinction. We saw that existence in excellence and distinction means to stand out in life, to exist as a generational illumination, to make a difference on the earth and to exist in importance and relevance.

Today, we shall look at other definitions of existence in excellence and distinction. 

Now, existence in excellence and distinction means:

1. Existence above obscurity.

To exist in distinction and excellence is to exist above obscurity. It is to exist with positive notoriety. You are known for something positive or you are notorious positively. No man, woman, friend or enemy can say he/she is not aware of your existence. Nobody can claim ignorance of your impact on earth. To exist in distinction and excellence is to exist in impact that commands global attention (Matt. 5:14). 

2. Existence as a standard bearer and opinion leader.

Existence in distinction and excellence is existence as a pace setter, a road pointer, a standard bearer and opinion leader. If God says, you are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14), it means you are a road pointer or direction giver because light points the road and gives direction. Existence in distinction or excellence is existence as a generational direction giver. God wants to bring you to a point where people know what to do as they see what you do. God wants to bring you to a point where you are a standard of measurement for other people. When people look at you, they would pray and wish to be like you. You are serving God with integrity, yet you are commanding stupendous prosperity. Your life depicts a commendable balance between holiness and prosperity to show the world that it is possible to maintain holiness and integrity, and still have prosperity. This makes you a road pointer and standard bearer to your generation. 

Beloved, when you live like this, your results will bring multitude to God. You will not only preach to people with your mouth but they would also look at what God has done in your life and follow you to know your God. 

Remember this: Existence in distinction and excellence is existence as a pace setter, a road pointer, a standard bearer and opinion leader.

Existence in distinction and excellence is existence in importance and relevance on earth. When you exist in distinction and excellence, you are relevant and important. 

SCRIPTURE: Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Matthew 5:14. 

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Existence in distinction and excellence means existence that makes a difference on earth.

It has been confirmed that we are destined for the top. We are destined for distinction and excellence as children of God. 

Yesterday, we looked at two definitions of excellence and distinction. We noted that to exist in excellence and distinction means, to stand out in life. It also means to be a generational illumination.

Today, we shall look at further understanding of excellence and distinction: 

1. Existence in excellence and distinction means existence that makes a difference on earth.

Existence in distinction and excellence means existence that makes a difference on earth. It is existence to make a difference and not just existence to make a living (Daniel 6:1-5). When you exist in distinction and excellence, everything about you is different - your spiritual life, your career life, your ministerial life, your academic life, etc., are unique. People easily see uniqueness and distinction in what you do. 

2.  Existence in importance and relevance on earth. 

Existence in distinction and excellence is existence in importance and relevance on earth. When you exist in distinction and excellence, you are relevant and important. Nobody can make demeaning comments like: “Don’t mind him. Don’t mind her,” about you.  This is because you have what it takes for people to mind you. If you exist in distinction and excellence, nobody can claim ignorance of your existence (Matthew 5:14). For example: before the completion of the Glory Dome (the international headquarters of Dunamis Church along the Airport Road, Abuja, Nigeria), I told someone that there is no way a person would pass through the airport road and claim ignorance of the building. I told the person that even if someone is blind, when he comes there, he would feel something because of the radiating glory of God flowing from the Glory Dome, to the glory of the Almighty alone. 

Beloved, existence in distinction and excellence means, you are noticeably important to your generation. 

I counsel you: make the choice to live in such a way that your family members, relations, friends and even enemies cannot claim ignorance of your importance and relevance on earth to the glory of God.

Remember this: Existence in distinction and excellence means existence that makes a difference on earth.

To exist in distinction or excellence is to stand out in life or live an outstanding life. A call unto excellence is a call unto an outstanding life.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To exist in distinction and excellence is to stand out in life or live an outstanding life.

The Scriptures make it abundantly clear that as children of God, we are destined for the top (Matthew 5:14-16, Deuteronomy 32:13, Isaiah 58:14). We were created to exist at the realm of excellence and distinction in whatever we do. Therefore, it is very important to understand excellence or distinction.

Now, the question is, what is distinction? What does it mean to exist in distinction or excellence? 

1. To have excellence or distinction means to stand out in life. 

To exist in distinction or excellence means to live an outstanding life. Joseph stood out from his brothers by the way he lived (Gen. 37:2). When people exist in distinction or excellence, they stand out in their family, class or place of work. To exist in distinction or excellence is to stand out in life or live an outstanding life. A call unto excellence is a call unto an outstanding life. To exist in distinction or excellence is to live an outstandingly enviable life.

2. Excellence or distinction means existence as a generational illumination. 

To exist in distinction or excellence means to exist as a 

generational illumination. When you exist in distinction or excellence, there is something about you that lightens your world. Once you step into a place where there is darkness and depression, light appears because you are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14); you are a generational illumination. To exist in excellence or distinction is to exist as the light that gives hope to the people around you. 

What is my counsel to you? Make up your mind to exist in excellence and distinction. Make the choice to stand out in life and be a generational illumination. 

Remember this: To exist in distinction or excellence is to stand out in life or live an outstanding life.

THE POWER OF UPRIGHTNESS

Uprightness of character enhances success in life and destiny in many ways.

SCRIPTURE: Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 14:34

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Uprightness of character forbids the invitation of the enemy for the resistance of life and destiny.

Uprightness of character is one of the non-negotiable qualities for success in life and destiny. The lifestyle of character is a lifter of people but sin is a reproach (Proverbs 14:34). In Scripture, there are many people whose lives were grounded by the bankruptcy of character. Men like Reuben, Samson, Judas Iscariot, etc. could not fulfil God’s Purpose for their lives because of character bankruptcy. So, uprightness of character is a necessity for life and destiny. 

Uprightness of character enhances success in life and destiny in many ways. Today, we shall look at one of the ways in which uprightness contributes to success in life and destiny:

Uprightness of character forbids the invitation of the enemy for the resistance of life and destiny.

Understand that iniquity invites the enemy to resist a man’s life and destiny. In Zechariah 3:1-5, Joshua the high priest stood before God and satan was resisting him because he (Joshua) was clothed with filthy garments. A garment of filthiness is a magnetic attraction for the enemy. You can’t avoid the devil if you are wearing his cloth. And the invitation of the enemy is an invitation unto resistance. The devil stood by Joshua to resist him. 

Beloved, what you wear determines what you attract. What you are wearing determines whether you are experiencing assistance from the Almighty or resistance from the enemy. But uprightness of character will block all forms of enemy resistance. 

Now, what does uprightness of character entail? 

Uprightness of character entails the possession of a living, lively conscience. 

Uprightness involves the possession of a conscience that is alive; a conscience that works (Acts 23:1). Acts 24:16 says, And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

There are people who don’t have a lively conscience at all. This is shown by the way they deal with their fellow human beings. Refuse to live such a life. Make up your mind to possess a lively and working conscience.

Remember this: Uprightness of character forbids the invitation of the enemy for the resistance of life and destiny.

As God’s children, we are destined for excellence and distinction. Our destiny is the high places of the earth; it is an abomination of covenant to be connected to the Most High and struggle in the low places of the earth

SCRIPTURE: And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. Matthew 11:12.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Don’t let any devil convince you to accept low level existence; you are a city set on a hill that cannot be hid.

As God’s children, we are destined for excellence and distinction. Our destiny is the high places of the earth; it is an abomination of covenant to be connected to the Most High and struggle in the low places of the earth (Deuteronomy 32:13).

Now, having known that you are destined for the top, what do you do to get there?

Take your place at the top.

Matthew 11:12 says, And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. 

You must take your place in the high places by force. Make up your mind to get to the top by force. Take your place in God by force. Tell yourself, “I belong to the high places. No devil can keep me low. I reject, refuse and react against the low places in Jesus Name”. You say it and seize it.

Think about this: if the high place of the earth is our destiny, then we must violently react against existence in mediocrity. Don’t let any devil convince you to accept low level existence. You are a city set on a hill that cannot be hid. So, violently react, violently reject, and violently refuse low level existence. For instance, if a full grown and responsible man is addressed and called a baby, he would get angry and react because it is very inappropriate and insulting to address a man as a small child. He would be furious at the person who addressed him as such and say, “Am I behaving like a baby?” He would angrily react because he knows that he is not a child. So, it is very painful to a full grown man when he is addressed as a child. 

In the same manner, if you are meant to be at the top and any devil tries to confine you to the low level, you should react, refuse and reject it. You should violently refuse it saying, “That is not where I belong! I refuse to be there!”

Remember this: Don’t let any devil convince you to accept low level existence; you are a city set on a hill that cannot be hid.

Praise is the celebration of the Governor General of the universe. He is the Lord General of the universe.  He deserves your praise.

SCRIPTURE: For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding. Psalms 47:7

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Praise is the celebration of the Sovereignty and Almightiness of God. 

In life, every undertaking becomes outstanding with understanding. Anything that must be outstandingly impactful must be done with understanding. It is not what we do that determines the results we see but the understanding with which we do them. 

Same applies to praise. Many people usually misunderstand what praise is all about. Let it be clear that praise is not just an entertainment segment of church; it is not used to fill gap in the order of church service.

What then is praise? 

Praise is the celebration of the Sovereignty and Almightiness of God. 

Praise is the celebration of the “in-chargeness” of God. God is the King of all the earth, and for that purpose, we sing and celebrate Him (Psalms 47:7).  1 Chronicles 16:29 says, Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. God deserves the glory. He owns the glory, so, give it to Him. Praise is the celebration of the Governor General of the universe. He is the Lord General of the universe.  He deserves your praise.

Now, what is the power of praise? 

The celebration of God, which is praise, attracts the manifestation of God. 

In 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 during the dedication of the temple of Solomon, as the priest celebrated God, He manifested Himself. You know that people are attracted to where they are celebrated and allergic to where they are tolerated. Wherever they hate you, you leave there. Those who talk good of you, you tend to spend more time with them. Naturally, you are friendly with those who appreciate and value your person and those who see the good in your life. But you leave those who see nothing good in your life but mistakes and errors.  God made us in His Image. When you celebrate God, He is attracted to you. To celebrate Him is to attract Him, and to attract him is to attract all He carries. This is the power of praise. 

Remember this: Praise is the celebration of the Sovereignty and Almightiness of God.

Why do you people don't want good for this land. The only way this govt can generate revenue is to suck the masses dry of their underemployed wages through stupid taxes. Like the one they will collect from landlord stamp duties and bank stamp duties from people that don't money. Instead of them to sponsor agricultural sector and manufacturing company and later tax them.

PROFITS OF DEDICATION

Your level of commitment determines your level of anointing and lifting. The reason why we are not all anointed at the same level is that our commitment is not at the same level. 

SCRIPTURE: I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him: Psalms 89:20

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your level of commitment determines your level of anointing and lifting.

In our previous studies, we saw various reasons why we should be dedicated to God. We saw, amongst others, that we were created by God and for God and that we cannot survive without Him. We also looked at the implications of dedication. 

Today, we shall be looking at the profits of dedication. God has not called us to serve Him in vain (Isaiah 45:19). Dedication to God is accompanied with benefits. 

Now, what are the profits of dedication? I give you just two:

1. Dedication brings both the unction and elevation to life. 

Your level of commitment determines your level of anointing and lifting. The reason why we are not all anointed at the same level is that our commitment is not at the same level. The reason why we are not all lifted to the same level in life is that we don’t have a uniform level of commitment to God. God is a Rewarder of the diligent. God found a servant in David and anointed him with his Holy Oil (Psalm 89:20). Your commitment will guarantee your anointing and lifting. 

2. Dedication to God brings distinction in life.

A dedicated person stands out in life. Dedicated people are in a class of their own. When God anointed David in 1st Samuel 16:13, God set him apart. David the dedicated, who was a man after God’s heart, was set apart by God in the presence of his brothers. He was in a class of his own. He was set ahead of his brethren, ahead of his age mates, ahead of those who once mocked him, and ahead of those who thought he was wasting his time following God. And David was not alone in this: people also thought that some of us were wasting our time when we decided to follow and serve God. We wasted our youth on God instead of wasting it on disco parties. And because of that, God set us apart for Himself.

Beloved, your dedication to God sets you apart. My counsel is, don’t hold yourself or anything you have back from serving God. Go all the way with God. It is not a waste to be dedicated to God. I prophesy fresh grace for dedication to God on your life in this season, in Jesus’ Name.

THE GOD ADDICT

There is no genuine dedication without addiction. When you are addicted to God, your survival without God is impossible. 

SCRIPTURE: For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.  Philippians 1:21

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: One who is addicted to God is absolutely dependent on God. When you are addicted to God, your survival without God is impossible.

Yesterday, we established that dedication implies living in defence of the cause of God in the earth. It is being jealous for God. Elijah was jealous for God and defended His cause on earth when he killed the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18:36-40). Esther defended the cause of God’s people, the Israelites and was ready to perish, if possible, for the same purpose (Esther 4:16).

Today, we shall look at another implication of dedication: dedication to God implies addiction to God.

There is no genuine dedication without addiction. When we say someone is addicted to cocaine, it means they are dependent on cocaine. So, one who is addicted to God is absolutely dependent on God. When you are addicted to God, your survival without God is impossible. When people live on drugs, until they are helped, they would have terrible withdrawal symptoms. If they don’t take the drugs, their body would be shaking and vibrating. When you are addicted to God, you can’t survive without time with Him in worship, praise and prayer. You can’t live for a week without studying the Word of God if you are truly dedicated to God. A dedicated Christian is a God addict. He or she is incurably addicted to God. 

When you are dedicated to God, there is a godly climate you are addicted to. For example, when I was in the medical school, I would pray between one to three hours every morning before going for classes at 8am. Then, the first session of the class was from 8:00am to 12 noon, while the second session was from 1pm to 6pm. In-between these two sessions, I would still pray and meditate on the Word for about thirty minutes. I told myself that if for any reason, I oversleep in any day or something made me not to pray as I ought to, the next day would be used to pay for it.

Addictions usually come with costs. That is why some people can sell a whole house to buy cocaine or other addictive substances. In the same way, if you are addicted to God, there is nothing you can’t give up for the pursuit of God. It was Paul who said, “For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21). A dedicated person lives on Christ just like drug addicts live on drugs. Therefore, my counsel is, live on Christ; live in the Word; live in worship; live in God’s Presence. 

Remember this: One who is addicted to God is absolutely dependent on God. When you are addicted to God, your survival without God is impossible.
