PoliticsRe: 2015: Christian or Muslim governor for Lagos? by AdekunleBalogun: 8:33am On Nov 07, 2013
No matter how they try, we will not use religion as yardstick for governance, we are smarter than that. That's always my problem this so called men of God, they forgot the real Lagosian are predominantly Muslims.... I guest they want a governor that would allowed them make all the noise and turn the state in a redemption camp, so that thait can increase. Come to think of it, has Fashola stop anyone from holding religious gathering?.... Hypocrites!!!
TravelRe: Anti-Nigerian Billboards In Goa, India by AdekunleBalogun: 8:05am On Nov 07, 2013
This is very sad.... This is why we keep shouting, government should be alive to her responsibilities. Imagine a Nigerian going to India to look for job among 1.5billion people how would he get one, the next thing is to turn to criminal act becos they can't face the shame of returning to Nigeria wit nothing.
PoliticsRe: Oduah’s Airport Upgrade And Rehabilitation Is A Scam by AdekunleBalogun: 11:42am On Nov 06, 2013
I don't think a lot of my Igbo breathen realises the level of shame this woman has cause them and by defending her reaffirms the believe dat Igbo people can do anything for money. A lot of igbo's believes dat Yoruba people are the ones fuelling the propaganda against her, Yoruba's has always makes it very clear dat it tribe does not encourage corruption. Tafa Balogun was jailed by OBJ, Bode Gorge was jail, Bankole looses his senatorial seat even when he was the speaker of the house of assembly, all the PDP governors were voted out of office becos they are epitome of corruption. Dora Akunyili was a shinning example of an Igbo woman who continues to lead by example. My Igbo brothers should look @ this issues critically before taking sides, madam Obi Ezekwezele* forgive me for the name* has continue to speak out against the corruption in this government and same goes for minister of finance who has continue to make sure Nigeria is fiscally responsible. Here is my proposal let the President sacks this Igbo madam and replace her with another Igbo person, would dat solve the problem? Yes, because it will affirms dat she acted alone and not base on tribe.

PoliticsRe: ‘Blame Amaechi If APC Leaders’ Visit Turns Violent’ - Obuah by AdekunleBalogun: 10:24am On Nov 04, 2013
Sooner or latter the south-south will realised that Ameachi is currently doing them a favour. Come to think of it, how many south-south politician have been able to join the main-stream politics, how many of them currently carries equal charisma as Ameachi. Let jonathan leave power today and no south-south will be found in the main stream on Nigerian politics.... His mistake or betrayer as this people claim might actually be a blessing in disguise for the south-south, while Jonathan is forcing his acceptability on other part of Nigeria, Ameachi has already been warmly accepted. It a choice for the south-south either they cast him or accept him, its their choice.
PoliticsRe: G7 Govs, nPDP Are Comfortable With APC by AdekunleBalogun: 10:07am On Nov 04, 2013
After looting all the money, they are now comfortable with opposition. I thought APC is of different school of thought from the PDP, I thick the nPDP should go and form another party instead of joining up with APC. I need to reconsider my stance with dis APC before am taking for a ride..... nPDP & APC bad combination.

EducationRe: Nigeria Police Clampdown On ASUU Rallies by AdekunleBalogun:
Even though am not a lecturer and not a student either but my junior ones are also at home because of the strike. But am sorry how Nigerians have been cornered by this government and how people can believe anything that comes out of this government still beat my imagination, ASUU has been on strike for than four months now base on agreement reached more than four years ago, our house of reps and senator have increase their own salaries without any iota of conscience for the Nigerian people. Come to think of it who contribute to the development our society btw the lecturers and senators and people in government, is this not the same government dat cannot even provide good roads, electricity, water supply and other basic amenities and some people are still gullible enough to listen and believe this same government. To even think about it, a lecturer dat cannot fight for what they believe is right has no business in the classroom, go to other part of the world young people are the agent of change bt in Nigeria the reverse is the case. Lemme ask this question.... Have you ever seen a country with bad government with good educational system? We all want ASUU to be considerate abi... Can you produce a good product out of a bad system?... Nigeria is a bad system expecting ASUU and the educational system to be good is like expecting satan to stop evil. Its the responsibility of government to clean up the mess in the educational sector, not to allow people who have no business in our schools and to create the enabling environment for our young ones to thrive and compete favourably wit their other counterpart from all over the world.

Knowledge9000: Yoruba busy bodies and their jealousy of Igbos, and now directly this at full force at our beautiful, brilliant, highly educated and high profiled Igbo women. Today is Stella Oduah, tomorrow is Obi Ezekwesili, next week it's Dora Akinluyi, a week before was Ndidi Okereke-Onyiuke, few months ago was Joy Ogwu. Ungrateful people...these smart Igbo women are magnanimously running this country for the benefit of all; including you...Yorubas. What are you people contributing to this enterprise called Nigeria? Absolutely nothing. The Igbos, South-South and Hausas are running the show today in every level of the federal government....PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT, SENATE PRESIDENT, DEPUTY SENATE PRESIDENT, SPEAKER, DEPUTY SPEAKER, CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE FEDERATION...NO YORUBA ANYWHERE IN THE LEADERSHIP OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA THAT THEY CLAIM TO BE A MAJOR PART OF...VERY FOOLISH PEOPLE WITH LOW IQ. You all are not ashamed that you can't produce brilliant women of the caliber of Igbo women to contribute to the growth and development of this country. They will come up with the same ONE person Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti. That's all they got? Nuisance.

Christianity EtcRe: 5-6 Churches On A Building. Religious House Of Commotion It Is! by AdekunleBalogun: 2:54pm On Oct 20, 2013
speedyboi: Isn't it funny? grin

One major thing compromising Christianity is 'denomination'. We claim to worship one God, yet we have different denominations with different doctrines.... As if that is not enough, we see members speaking against doctrines of other denominations for whatever reasons. Smh...

What stops these 6 churches from merging together and having one service now? Smh
You want them to share the offering? No! Each church want to collect its own offering. Jokes apart this is very wrong, even islam believes Muslims and christians worship the same God bt the way these churches are going about it like each church with its own God ni o..

PoliticsThe Sovereign Nation Conference by AdekunleBalogun(op):
It finally here, after all the agitation, after all the cries and begging and after all the denial and pretending that all is well with Nigeria, we finally have it. The sovereign national conference to discuss the togetherness of Nigeria and find amicable solutions to challenges confronting our great nation. What's next for us now is to take a good shower, take a deep sleep, rest the head, ask God for guidance and get to work. Starting from the selection process of people who are going represent each region, to the issues to be discuss, to the implementations. This not the time to fight, not the time to play hide 'n' seek, this is time for all the intellectuals, the market women, students, professional, young, old, male, female, city dwellers, urban dwellers, Ibo, Hausa, Yoruba and all the ethnicity that make-up the lent and breath of this country called Nigeria. The fight has began to rescue Nigeria from the clutches of these inconsiderate few and their cohorts, the time has come to stand on our two feet and match in unison to this promise land where we are no longer second class citizen, where freedom, justice, peace and rule of law reign supreme.
PoliticsRe: Students Killed As Boko-Haram Attacks College Of Agriculture In Yobe. by AdekunleBalogun: 6:08pm On Sep 29, 2013
I expect by tomorrow NASS should be on the street protesting the barbaric killings of this innocent students, anything shorts of this, then NASS is not worthy of being called a body that's represents the students interest. If they don't shutdown the street of Abuja tomorrow, all the executive should resign and stop parading themselves as student representative because they are turning out to be politicians instead of student. May Allah grant their souls eternal rest. Amin

PoliticsRe: Adefuye, Incompetent US Ambassador, Nearly Bungles Jonathans US Outing by AdekunleBalogun: 11:59am On Sep 25, 2013
Adejoro74: See. Two Igbo women do what Adefuye, a Yoruba man, is too incompetent to do. grin grin

Anyone remembers how the former US Ambassador, Brig Rotimi, also mismanaged the US embassy?

Lemme guess: Adefuye was busy hating on Ojo Maduekwe (for obvious reasons) and forget to do his job preparing logistics for his employer's outing
You should be ashamed of urself for making this silly statement.
PoliticsSay A Prayer For Nigeria by AdekunleBalogun(op): 8:45am On Sep 17, 2013
Nigeria, a land of milk and honey, yet many suffer in abject poverty, a land where criminals no longer hide in the shadow of the night to do evil, its being done in broad day light, Nigeria where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Nigeria, a country of immersed possibilities, a country where sun rises so beautifully and brighten our day, a country where rain pour its blessing on us at it season, Nigeria a country with vast natural resources, Nigeria is beautiful!!!
You might think Nigeria doesn't deserve your prayer, after all you don't partake in the sharing of the national cake, that the government doesn't provide adequate social in-fractures, and so doesn't deserved to be prayed for.

Am sure most of us watched the news on a daily basis, am not talking about the NTA news oo, am talking international news, events happening in other countries of the world. Imagine a country of 8million people, 4millions are refuges in another man’s land, 2millions in extreme starvation with no food, while the rest are rebels and government soldiers fighting each other for the soul of the country... That is the story of Central African Republic, not to talk of Syria, Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Congo and series of sectarian violence all over the word then you will realize that praying for peace and stability in Nigeria is not only for you own good, but for your loved ones, and for your future ambitions.

Yes, Nigeria might have been part of Britain’s business arrangement, does that means we are animals not capable of bringing about meaningful change, does that mean we are incapable of making history. South Africa wasn’t a black and white country, south African was originally occupied by black people of different tribe, language, religion and so on but they all stood together to defeat their common enemy apartheid and they won. Why can’t we fight our common enemy instead of this continue trading of blames among the ethnic group, why can’t we bond together and fight this ignorant among our people, why can’t we all fight this ruling elite who continues to cash-in on the ignorant of Nigerians. A world is enough for the wise.

PoliticsThere Was A Jonathan by AdekunleBalogun(op): 10:17am On Sep 06, 2013
In the next 2years, Nigeria is going to have a president, well if Mr. Jonathan makes it back to the Aso-rock, then this article is for him but if he doesn’t then this article is for whoever succeed him. Going by the present wahala in the PDP, i will say the president has played a bad politics because he spent the past 3years trying to please some certain politicians, surrounded himself with people who continue to make comments that are not favorable for the president. statements like, Nigeria is only peaceful because the president is from the south-south, peace will only happened in Niger-delta if only the president is re-elected again and so on obviously this tactics is not working going by the resent happenings. Here is a word of advice for all the ministers, special advisers, errand boy, attack goat and whatever name you are called as long as you earn your pay in Aso-rock, the president of a country is defined by larger responsibilities to the entire nation and not defined by the tribe of his origin, let me break it down for you, as soon as a president of Nigeria is elected, he stops been the president of certain region or tribe, he start to be the president of Yoruba’s, Hausas, Igbo’s and any other tribe no matter how small they are.
Now to my main point of writing this article, the very essence why the president appears to be losing ground, the president should take a look at all the faction that broke away from the PDP, this people are no strangers to Nigerians, they've all been part of the PDP since its inception, they are part of the problem we are having as a nation today, we Nigerian know them, nothing good can come out them, they cannot help Nigeria in anyway just like Mr. President is currently doing. To expect any good from them is like expecting a devil to be a saint, a devil will always be a devil likewise the faction will always be PDP. Mr. President should've played the politics of the people and not the politics of the politicians.
Imagine if the president has done enough to create more jobs for young graduates, fix our road, make reasonable investment in agriculture, prevent ASUU from going on strike, improve the quality of education, reduce government wasteful spending, diversification of our resources, take a holistic approach towards solving the security issues of the current but instead he choose to play with the devil all in the realization of the 2015 dream. Imagine if he has done enough for Nigerians, for the common man, all this parasite would hang on him like their life depends on it and not the other way round. Mr. President, it’s not too late to redeem yourself, it’s not too late to turn the tides and play the politics of the people and not politics of the politicians which obviously you aren’t a pro. Whichever why its goes, either Nigeria makes its past 2015 or not, either the President "wins" the 2015 elections or not, there is always going to be a Jonathan who played the wrong politics.
