Bishops10:A bachelor's degree (from Middle Latin baccalaureus) or baccalaureate (from Modern Latin baccalaureatus) is an undergraduate academic degree awarded by colleges and universities upon completion of a course of study lasting three to seven years (depending on institution and academic discipline). In some institutions and educational systems, some bachelor's degrees can only be taken as graduate or postgraduate degrees after a first degree has been completed. In countries with qualifications frameworks, bachelor's degrees are normally one of the major levels in the framework (sometimes two levels where non-honours and honours bachelor's degrees are considered separately), although some qualifications titled bachelor's degrees may be at other levels (e.g. MBBS) and some qualifications with non-bachelor's titles may be classified as bachelor's degrees (e.g. the Scottish MA and Canadian MD). The term bachelor in the 12th century referred to a knight bachelor, who was too young or poor to gather vassals under his own banner. By the end of the 13th century, it was also used by junior members of guilds or universities. By folk etymology or wordplay, the word baccalaureus came to be associated with bacca lauri ("laurel berry" in reference to laurels being awarded for academic success or honours.[1]Under the British system, and those influenced by it, undergraduate academic degrees are differentiated as either non-honours degrees (known variously as pass degrees, ordinary degrees or general degrees) or honours degrees, the latter sometimes denoted by the addition of "(Hons)" after the degree abbreviation.[2] An honours degree generally requires a higher academic standard than a pass degree, and in some systems an additional year of study beyond the non-honours bachelor's. In some countries, e.g. Australia, there is a "postgraduate" bachelor's honours degree, which may be taken as a consecutive academic degree, continuing on from the completion of a bachelor's degree program in the same field, or (in a similar manner to the UK system) as part of an integrated honours program. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bachelor%27s_degree |

Splashme:Why do you thrives so much in propaganda so much to the point that ur sense of reasoning has completely been left in the most remote part of ur brain. So we should not criticized a failing system because we've developed like US and UK abi, the same Okonjo that was so successful under Obasanjo now find it hard under Jonathan, sorry to disappoint you we will continue to criticize, demand for improvement and we shall refuse to celebrate mediocrity. |
If this doesn't get on front page then something is wrong wit NL. |
agoadiv:Yes a very proud too. ... If u don't like it, then its ur business. |
My advice for everyone of you here is to becareful what you consume all in the name of politics because by the time its all blows out in our face neither Jonathan or Buhari will be here to help us. A WAEC/Cambridge of 1961 in 2015 of no significant now be came an issue all because of politic, so what the significant of the Phd of mr Jonathan in Zoology in relevant to Nigerians situation. While we are here discussing this no brain of an issue there are people who are about to sleep wit an empty stomach, there are people out there who are not sure of their life making it to the next morning. As for those of you who are been used by this politicians to spread their message of division, of hate and of misinform my question for you is what happens to you after the election would they still be paying you to spread their deceit and falsehood? In case you don't know, the same people who are paying you are also buying arm and ammunitions all in name of power, I wonder where you will belong when that time comes, when bullets will be used to convey their message, where will you be I guess running for ur dear lifes and the money will not be able to help. One thing though, I hope you'll be able to live with the fact that you've helped this politicians in no small way to start a war, and all of you will wonder why you having problems, why God is not answering ur prayers. |
Redoil:Olodo ni e... Even if you are not an IT person you should understand simple computers terms and terminologies like ONLINE and OFFLINE google the two words in upper-caps then you will understand better. |
As an I.T person, I never ready it or saw it anywhere where you can hacking into an offline server...... Seems laughable and very unprofessional job by DSS. |
In what seem to rubbish the claims by the Department of State Security Service (DSS), that the All Progressives Congress (APC), planned to hack into the database of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), with the intent of cloning the Permanent Voters Card for use in the 2015 general election, the commission has said it is impossible for the database of the commission to be hacked. The DSS had following the raid on the party’s data office in Lagos last year said, its investigations indicated that the All Progressives Congress had plans to hack into the database of the Independent National Electoral Commission. The service explained that the confessions from the staff arrested at the APC office at 10,Bola Ajibola Street, Ikeja, and the items retrieved from the building showed that the party had an elaborate plan to hack into the commission’s database and inflate the number of its membership. But appearing on a breakfast TV show, Kakaaki on Africa Independent Television (AIT), on Friday, Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of the Commission, Kayode Idowu said the database of the commiision canot be hacked because it is not online. He was responding to inquiries about the commissions preparedness for the forthcoming 2015 general election. “Nobody can hack into INEC’s database because it is not online. You cannot hack a database that is not available online Idowu said. He added that “the Permanent Voters Card produced by the commission cannot be cloned.” Idowu was however quick to point that his position is not in to say whether attempts were made or not. He said the it is not the duty of the commission to determine whether attempts were made to hack into the database of the commission or not. The APC had earlier dismissed the claims of the DSS that it planned to hack into the database of the commission. abusidiqu.com/it-is-impossible-to-hack-into-inec-database-electoral-umpires-position-punctures-sss-claims-on-apcs-hacking-plan/ |
sanerugwei:What were the crusaders doing? Fighting for what they believe was right. All am saying is that we should be very careful how will deal wit things that are sensitive to other people. Christians take pride in their so called slap the left chick then turn the right which is good and teaches us restrain, all am saying is nobody has the monopoly of anything. I don't support violence and I don't thick is the solution to every problem. |
Are Nigerian really this dump? Yes I know our educational system is pretty bad bt never imagine to this point when people can't read simple meaning to a very simple sentence. Having said that, its also very unbelievable that some people here are saying the Pope is no more a christian, am a muslim and I can very well relate wit what the Pope is saying, can u imagine if someone start drawing the pictures of Jesus naked standing next to a prostitutes or say thing that are contrary to the teaching of Jesus. All am saying is there are thing that should be separated from religion such Politics, blasphemy against other peoples religion as so on. May souls of those killed in Paris attack rest in peace and our brothers and sisters who lost their soul Baga rest in as well. |
Abeg my head wan burst wit laughter..... Best trend ever on NL. |
If u like call him the devil sef, me and my household are voting for Buhari, it only shows that our so call men of God are the main problem because often time they refuse to tell the truth. Jonathan is the most church going president Nigeria has ever had and also goes down as the most corrupt, most divisive and most incompetent president ever. |
DaGC:Its definitely possible bt in this case INEC server is offline which means that you have to be in INEC server room to copy the data and moreover if DSS arrested people in APC office in Lagos does that mean APC does not have data centre in Osun, Oyo and other states of the federation. |
TheGrandMaster:I thought I was the only one who knew about this, an offline remote server is practically impossible to hack and even if INEC server is online it will be a VPN( virtual private network) one will go through hell to hack it depending on the security in short it also practically impossible. I thought DSS being a reputable organization and a security outfit should be able to understand this technicalities, if not APC will make them really look stupid in court. |
This is a serious situation and a dangerous trend in this country, if Buhari is not welcome in the South-east and they can even display it for everyone to see, they should also think about what will happened to Jonathan when he goes to the North, given him a chieftancy title does not mean he will win the election and even if they don't give him he can still win anyways. Even though there is tendency to hate due to events of the past, even though we see other people as strangers in our land and we want to kick them out, even though we despise certain tribe so much, my point is unity and peace must be our guiding principle, it must be our larger purpose. One day an igbo would properly wants to be president too and in the course he might have to go to the north too for support, the traditional rulers should write today's date down because kamar never disappoint. |
They should hurry up and shot it down now, enough of this threats. |
What do this people take Nigerians for, so they are telling me that Buhari went to an Igbo pastor that controls over 30thansand congregation to speak against a popular candidate in the region and the father is so stupid to do so even when the wife of the sitting president was in the same church some few weeks earlier. They should try harder, but I believe if the father says what God told he then he will be vindicated very soon. |
Are you for real, still on this issue.... Even the white people that invented all this certificate knew they are not the ultimate thing as they do not guarantee success. Education is not determined by your certificate but by ur ability to use what you've acquire interms of knowledge to better ur life and ur environment, who cares which certificate dangote acquired not to talk of Adenuga and Otedola and the rest and yet we claim to have a PHD holder at the helms of affair and things are falling apart. I've seen an HND holder who is better than many B.SC holders likewise B.SC who are brilliant at what they do, what I think we should be more concern about is the quality of education our tertiary institution offer to our students and government should try as mush as possible to create more opportunities for our timid youths. |
WhiteTechnology:Afonja and MKO made their choices, and to think you want me to decide my future based on issues of 100 and 20 years ago, you must be joking. We the new generation of yorubas are making our choices, believe me you don't want to take me on, am an emerging new yoruba generation and believe me am darm too intelligent for ur propaganda..... Save them for illiterates in village. |
WhiteTechnology:If the election were to be held 1000times yorubas will still vote for Buhari, for the fact that you admit that we yorubas are the most sophisticated tribe in Nigeria should tell you something about us. If American say something they must have a reason and believe me they are always right. Yorubas are always right. |
Gudluck want to be president of London abi, make London people vote am now. This man is not serious @all, despite of this there is no money and crying of austerity measures, he still has money to do all this. Whereas some state civil servants are yet to receive their salary.... Mr. Jonathan God is watching in 3D ooo. Chai. |
Some of you xtians should be ashamed of statements made by some of ur leaders atime, I can't believe someone somewhere will still think that someone will have power to islamised or christianized Nigeria in this 21st century. Do they think Nigeria exit in isolation nee? Mr. Bishop, am a Muslims and am telling you that no one can rule Nigeria based on the principle of one religion. Buhari will win the 2015 election base his integrity and principle and life's will be changed for the better so have no fear bruv. Sai BUHARI. |
Firefire:Wake up mr. Man, u've been sleeping for so long. U deny reality wen its staring u in the face. Come May, 29 2015, General Muhammadu Buhari will be the elected president of Nigerian, if u don't like it go hug transformer or better still 3rd mainland bridge is all urs do the needful.... |
What problem do you people have with Yoruba self, writing this meaningless, nonsense and endless article all in the name of getting us to vote for Jonathan. Sorry to inform you, it won't work..... What kindof people do you think we are self? Do you bother to examine our culture and history @all? My advise for you is this, try and understand the ideology of the yorubas then you will understand what made us thick. We are sophisticated to understand cheap blackmail and whitemail if there anything like that, we know how to play self politically, we see people for who they are, or you think we don't know that Tinubu is a thief? But his also a safer option compared to Obasanjo and believe me, we know Buhari is no saint either but he's still mines better than Jonathan. My advice for you is vote for who you want and we will vote for who we desire. |
You are mad, take ur cock and bull story somewhere else, we are done with this Jonathan. You are such a hypocrite, even when this man is about to throw the entire nation into war zone and you are still here asking useless question. |
naija2dabone:story..... story....story.... say what you want Buhari is winning this one. |
Donmarrius:U seems angry, u can't handle the truth. That's not even my point, forgive me if I make reference to my Igbos brothers but my point is we need to join hands together and elect a leader that would move this country forward, fighting btw tribes will not get us there, division btw regions will not help us.... |
Sometimes am so ashamed to be a Nigerian going by the comments I read on posted topics on Nairaland, when does endorsing a candidate has to with been slave to somebody, honestly I doubt is these comment were been made by Nigerian or some internet scamers employed by our politicians to cause trouble and to shape our opinions. Since 1999, Nigeria has been governed by 3 presidents 2 from south and 1 from North, now tell me what's the difference among the 3 of them, whose impact have we felt most among them. Now the point of yoruba been slave to anyone, as a yoruba myself I honestly personally don't know what my Igbo brothers are talking about, u called someone coward and reside in her land, you do ur business safely, no security challenges or maybe the mistake the yorubas maybe was not to have chased you out of their land maybe then you will realized how strong they are. Please don't let this politicians divide us for their own benefit. |
