Founder and leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazurike, has described the Igbo as foolish.

The MASSOB founder insisted that Igbo may not become Nigeria’s president because they only fight for their pocket.

Speaking with Punch, Uwazurike recalled how Igbo was pushed aside after forming the former ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 1999.

He insisted that anyone calling for the unity of Nigeria does not mean well for the already troubled nation.

His words, “Remember, it was the Igbo man that formed this PDP but they snatched it from him. Then, it was clear that an Igbo man would be the President of Nigeria. But in Jos, it was the Igbo who robbed themselves of that opportunity. The Igbo at that political event in Jos started speaking Hausa.

“The Igbo started sponsoring (Olusegun) Obasanjo against (Alex) Ekwueme; giving N100 million and all that to another tribe to emerge. Let me tell you, the Igbo tribe is the most foolish tribe I have ever seen in the world.

“While the Yoruba embraced unity, the Igbo man was the person speaking Hausa in Jos; the Igbo man was the one donating money against his own brother in Jos to another candidate.

“Is that a wise tribe? Then, who should I apologise to for using the word ‘foolish?’ Then what have we achieved from the PDP? For how many years have the Yoruba people used the PDP? Eight years! Now, when it was the turn of the South-East, they sent it to South-South.”

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has welcomed traditional rulers from across the country to his state, for their general assembly

- The governor, while giving his welcome speech, described the Ooni of Ife and Sultan of Sokoto, as his fathers

- In his response, the Ooni of Ife thanked the governor for the warm welcome and called for support from Nigeria’s leaders to bring about progress in the nation

Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, has stated that the Ooni of Ife Adeyeye Ogunwusi and Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar are his fathers, Channels reports.

The governor made his comments on Monday, January 29, at the 9th General Assembly of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, taking place in Port-Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.

The Osun Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) as announced all the 389 candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as winners of the just concluded councillorship election in the state.

Chairman of OSIEC, Mr Segun Oladitan, who announced the official results on Sunday in Osogbo, the state capital said 318 out of the candidates were returned unopposed.

He added that 128 of the unopposed returned candidates are from Osun Central senatorial district, while 177 came from Osun West and the remaining 73 from Osun East senatorial district of the state.

Oladitan said the remaining 71 other candidates that added up the total councillorship seat figure were the ones voted for at the poll which held on Saturday.

He informed reporters that 52 of the voted candidates came from Osun East and 13 from the west, while the remaining six came from Osun Central senatorial district.

The OSIEC chairman further declared all the APC candidates who participated in the election as winners and returned as councillors of the state.

Consequent to the announcement and declaration, certificates of return were issued to all the councillors – both elected and unopposed.

OSIEC had earlier announced that 318 candidates of the APC were contesting unopposed, leaving only 71 wards to be contested for by the remaining candidates.

The commission also stated that elected councillors would be running a parliamentary administrative system at the local government, where they would elect a chairman from amongst themselves.

The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has reacted to former President, Olusegun Obasanjo’s advice to President Muhammadu Buhari not to contest the 2019 election.

The party’s National Chairman, Dr. Victor Oye, in a statement said Obasanjo was not in the best position to advise Buhari.

According to him, Obasanjo was not justified morally in respect to his past administration in Nigeria to dictate if Buhari should run for second term.

He said “Obasanjo’s opinion and Nigerian’s opinions differ. People might have different opinion. What we need now in Nigeria is for us to remove unnecessary tension.

“Even if Buhari is not going to run in 2019, we shouldn’t create unnecessary tension because the man himself knows what to do and he doesn’t need Obasanjo’s letter to take such decision.

“It is Buhari’s entitlement to run for second term, but if he is saying he cannot run, he knows what to do.

“When Obasanjo was president what did he do? Was he a wonderful leader? Did he tar road in South-east? Enugu to Port-Hacourt road he didn’t do it. Okigwe to Oga he didn’t do it, and so on, and he busy talking about Nepotism. Obasanjo does not have moral justification to say such a thing.”

The senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has accused Governor Nasir El-Rufai of masterminding his reported rejection by the All Progressives Congress, APC, chairmen in his district.Party chairpersons of six local governments in his constituency which include Chikun, Birnin Gwari, Kajuru, Kaduna North, Kaduna South and Giwa LGs, met on Saturday, endorsing a rival aspirant and political adviser to Mr. El-Rufai, Uba Sani, for the 2019 senatorial ticket.
Senator Sani while reacting to his rejection, accused the governor of sponsoring the move after repeatedly failing to suspend him from the party.
“The so-called rejection of Senator Shehu Sani by so-called six chairmen of APC is nothing but Governor Nasiru El-Rufai’s antics,” a statement by his Special Adviser said.

“After two and half year of failed attempt to suspend senator Sani or recall him, El-Rufai has stooped to organising fake party chairman and endorsing his political adviser called Uba Sani.

“It will interest the general public to know that El-Rufai is simply diverting the attention and shielding his political adviser who will be in court in February for organising thugs to invade the NUJ secretariat.
“He has endorsed himself for the governorship and now arranging an endorsement for his puppy and low-grade errand boy.

“He has clung unto President Buhari for his political oxygen and life,” he said.
Mr. Sani added that the governor was busy frequenting the Aso Villa while his state is being attacked by kidnappers and herdsmen.

“While Franco Nero plays fiddle while Rome was on Fire, El-Rufai is always in the Villa playing the Game of Throne while his state is overrun by kidnappers and herdsmen,” Sani added.
He expressed confidence that the people of Kaduna Central constituency were solidly behind him.

Who cares who you believe as prophet and who you believe not, that's your cup of tea. Christians are biggest hypocrite i have ever deal with. i went to a Christian school, and in the school you are not giving any privilege as a Muslim. Why i refer to them as hypocrite is because,during my days in the school every must pray with them, they will even be tricking us by asking us to close our eyes to pray when is break time then by the time you open your eyes you see biscuit in your front and they will say "Jesus (ASW) brought the biscuit". I can quote so many bible verses because that is what they enforce. But all their tricks and actions didnt derail us from the right way Alhamdulillah. During my Secondary days, Islamic prayers is only twice a week on the assembly ground, and the School is a public school, we didn't lament. Am currently teaching a school and most of the types of book you posted consists of all the subject e.g Best Foundation but we only take the students according to their religion, i don't see where you are feeling insecure about you people forge word "islamization". Muslim won't benefit anything from any of you being a muslim likewise we have nothing to loose you being Christian . La ilaha ilallah Muhammad Rasulullah Salallahu Alayhim Wa Salam

There are worse but unreported cases of killings in the North especially far North i.e North East and North West...I was with a military officer today Nd he said there was a report of a village in Zamfara where about 200 villagers were killed and the whole village was almost levelled...his argument was why the media is making so much noise about the "few " Benue killings but have neglected or decided to turn a blind eye to the killings up North...
