Really!! Because in my booking they said I have to do the precovid test. I know most people said they did not ask. I just don't want any issues and also don't have 50k to throw away.

I got my decision email on Friday and pick up yesterday I was surprised myself. You can give it still tomorrow I am sure you should get the pick up email!!
Sherry02:

Previous posts on this thread suggest that Turkish Airline doesn’t require a covid test.

Please when did you get the decision email? I got mine yesterday but no collection yet. Wondering if it’s too early to go there

Hi, please I want to ask has anyone used Turkish Airline recently and did they ask for the precovid test? I am travelling tomorrow and haven't done it yet. Please help!!

Also, I can't remember the guy who said his visa said he can't travel. He should check well, I collected mine today and it did not say anything like that. Like someone said, is he sure it not when his vignette date is too?

ugh, there are so many careers, but I still can't decide what career to choose... I don't even know more career than accountant, taxi driver, different managers and salesman... Could you advice me some guide that will help me sort out with my decision what career to choose, because there is the abundance of careers that are useless or aren't popular...

Hi, I guess this is the problem with the educational system in Nigeria. like what the previous person said, there are so many careers that are available that most people do not know about and many that are going to fade away over the course of time it is called labour market information (LMI). As a career professional who studied and worked outside of Nigeria, I had never heard of my profession before and many more. In the UK and many developed countries, career guidance and education is part of the educational system even for adults to help and guide. I think this should be mandatory in schools and unis to help people navigate their lives. But guess as usual this is not a priority for the educational system in Nigeria. I can also suggest a number of websites where you can have a look but they are UK ones, hopefully, they help. they give breakdown information jobs but in the UK. However, it will give you the information. prospects.ac.uk, national career service. I will suggest if you are still trying to choose an undergrad course you can look at the job, check the requirements and see if any Nigerian uni offers it. it might take time and you might not figure it at once but hopefully, it helps! I will post more if I remember. smiley

I totally agree with you that chosing a career is one of the most important parts of our lives. My friend (I name her "Guru"wink told me that in this life you should answer just on 3 questions for being happy: Who you want to be, with whom and where you want to be; and if now we have a lot of specialists and sites that will help you with finding your love and migrate successfully it will be a little bit hard to find a site that will help you career. Personally, I am a librarian and I had (after I lost my job) some difficulties to find a new place of working. I asked for help from different people, but nobody helped me. When I tried to find an answer on internet, I undestood that all sites are mostly interested in promoting of different services, but not in helping people. Just after a lot of time I found what I needed. https://www.becomeopedia.com/ is a site that helped me understand whom I want to be and to find a job that would please me for 100%. I advise you to try and to not to loose your time, like I did. Good luck!

Hello everyone, I need more advice and suggestions on what to settle for. I am currently employed and have been in the financial sector for over 5 years now, I just got a job offer from another company in the same financial sector with a lower pay but a higher position, this new position places me in a managerial/supervisory position with less stress but lower pay/salary compared with where I am presently.

Please I need matured and analytical advice house.

God bless.

Hi, so I am a professional career adviser and would say to what I would say to my students when they have this dilemma is to first make a pros and cons list of both jobs. Then elsewhere make a list of what is more important to you, money or your career development and other connections to them; things like workload, salary, yourself, promotion, career development, future, money, happiness etc. To be honest as in this context there is little information about you, it is hard to say much and besides, if i was having a session with you, I can only guide you, it is YOUR decision to decide what makes YOU happy especially in regard to your career as it is literally a vital part of our life and you don't want to make a wrong decision. I hope this helps. smiley
Travel / Re: Despite The Introduction Of Over 800 Buses, This Still Happens In Lagos (PHOTOS) by ademeedee: 4:37pm On Aug 15, 2019
Exactly, this is so on point. I really get pissed off when people say Lagos is over populated. Having lived abroad myself most major cities are this populated. London for example, but there are options for people to choose from. Even sub-cities which are not that big have trams which go to particular routes. For me, in my own opinion instead of wasting money building skyscrapers and selling it for millions of naira which most Nigerians cannot afford why not spend it on transportation and allow people leave in Ibadan, Ota, Ikorodu and come to work every day conveniently. I guess none of the government officials has that much sense, its such a shame.

9jvirgin:
I just got back from an European tour, I visited Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Germany and London. These countries too are heavily populated but you need to see how thousands of trains, subways and buses helps people to connect so FAST and EASY. Dedicated rail tracks and roads for buses was clearly noticeable.

Almost all the population in Denmark had bicycles, at 4pm I saw people with Suit and Ties riding their bikes home.

I took a train from Copenhagen, Denmark to Malmo, Sweden and the whole trip lasted for 2 hours and 45 mins. The problem is not the population, the problem is black man-kind.

We may never get it right!

To me personally they can't stretch the story any further than this, or else they will be making a mockery of the good work they have had before...season 1, 2,3 were pure flames. Season 4 and 5 saw a drop in intensity...so with a further season rumour and a possible spin off imo they should have tied all loose ends in this upcoming season and go out with a bang.

Yeah, I totally agree with you about the last season. But the good thing is, it was just 10 episodes so it wasnt that bad like if it was 22 or 24. They said it is going to be 15 episodes so hopefully they tie the loose ends. cheesy

I got my visa in 2018 and have traveled already. My background is in IT. I don't know your background but I believe if you can prove that there is a requirement for your skillset in Germany, then you should be fine.

Try and quote stats from the German government resources like this one to prove that they need your skills and that you will likely get a job: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/jobs/job-listings/

Okay. My background is in the non teaching aspect of education. I got my masters and post graduate diploma in the UK in education and career guidance, and have experience working in a college and school there for 3.5 years. My fear is the language because of my field started learning German but haven't really gone far.

Okay, will do. Thank you very much for the suggestions. I will keep you posted.

I would say you should still book the appointment anyway. It might be shorter, who knows

I was told that I would hear back from them in within 4-8 weeks but I heard back from them in a week, so you never know. If you are in Lagos, I would also recommend asking the protocol officers outside the German Consulate for guidance. Nothing to lose at this point.

All the best!

Oh. have gotten your Visa? What it recent? Have you travelled yet? What's your discipline?

Sorry for being so inquisitive!

Yea this is very long, i haven't called the embassy, in India it is also difficult in getting appointment depending on your region, i was to get it there but felt i should come home and relax with family and do it with ease only to get to nigeria and see that waiting period.
I don't know what to do in this case

Hopefully something pops up soonest! What's your discipline? I am skeptical because my discipline is in the non-teaching aspect of education. I have been learning German for a while but still on the basics. Do you think I stand a chance? @togobingi I would like your honest opinion too.

I totally agree with you with billions, I think I stopped watching at episode 7 or 8, I can't remember. I didnt see axe and Wendy together but it's not impossible just like they did in suits with Harvey and Donna which made me stop watching.

I will check out handmaid tales, I have being seeing good reviews about it, I choose Downton Abbey instead because of how overhyped it was, but I could not get through episode one.

Happy and sadly, how many people are counting down to 'power' coming on and it's last season. I can't wait.
iamJ:
After recovering from game of thrones heart break returned to normal binge watching

Billions, they are killing the show, axe and taylor issue was over dragged, that plot twist in the last episode was flat, I saw it coming 4 episodes ago, now they want to take us back to season 1 plot points, Wendy and axe keep acting like they will do it, they should do it already, I said it earlier here that Wendy will leave chuck, people said no, if you watch American shows alot, you will know that they can imply forever and they usually do it in the end, they should find a lovely lady to replace Wendy in Chucks life and let the games begin

Handmaid's tale, season 3 is flat, it's boring and plotless, they are trying to give the story more depth but it's pushing me out, I can't understand why she didn't leave when she had the chance, they either introduce a real baddie to entertain us or they cancel the show, it has lost its way

Elementary, downloaded season 1, after the first 5 episodes, I got bored, yeye plot twist left and right, maybe they will be a central baddie later to give him a run for his money but those episodes were flat

Queen of the South, recommended to me many times but I didn't bite, choose to download a few episodes and see and I was glued, it's like power but with Mexican mafia spices, it's a lovely show, kept me up all night watching, the bad guys are delicious, very good show, among the best I have watched this year, will definitely watch it again

Thank you so much for replying. What is the process like? So I know what to expect when I start.
MRBENZENE:

from what i know you cannot convert this visa to student visa or self employed visa, you can only convert it to work visa. But after you have settled with the work visa you can enroll for higher studies.

Yes you can't work on this visa until it is converted to work visa.

Yes in all of Germany their is minimum wage and it applies to every sector definitely you will get not less than the minimum wage and you will get the work permit or blue card.

for the UK tier 2 visa i don't know about that.
Travel / Re: Job Seekers Visa Germany by ademeedee: 8:10am On Jul 02, 2019
MRBENZENE:

In this visa category it is 6months visa and within this period you are to search for job in Germany and once you secure a job you go to the immigration office in the city and covert your visa to work permit or blue card.

if you don't find a job within the 6months you will have to return to Nigeria, so u need to make adequate plans, but atleast one can find something doing even if it isn't that big then gradually you move up.

Okay, thank you for your prompt response. Do you know if it would be possible to transfer to a study visa or self employed in case if no job shows up?

Besides from what I read you can't work on this visa, is it true until you get the work permit.

I am also curious if there is minimum wage on how much to earn before the work permit can be given. Do know if this is similar to UK tier 2 visa where sponsorship is needed or once a job is gotten then you can apply for the work permit by yourself.

Just trying to be weigh my options before I invest in it.

Nope I am not sure. Expect you are going to look at getting a scholarship. That's really small. That's £3000. That's just for your CAS even for a postgraduate diploma or a professional course which cost between £7000-£10000. But have a look yourself to see if you would see anything. I might be wrong!

What your people are saying is true. I am certain you cannot work with 6 months short term student visa except you want to apply for tier 2 which I think is better especially because they claim there is a shortage in STEM subjects in teaching. As for your qualification, you can ring agencies in the UK and ask if it is possible. I hope this helps.

Just being curious about getting a job, is there a minimum of how much that must be earned to get the work permit? And is it similair to the UK tier 2 Visa in the terms of the companies limitations of employing people. While researching I saw one you get a work contract you can apply for the work permit but that was a post in 2016, is it still the same?
