hello Great nairalander.
I'm trying to reschedule my appointment which is 8th jan, 2018 to 29th dec,2017, but it came up with this message:

" If you cancel this appointment, then you will have exceeded the limit of appointments canceled, and will not be able to schedule another appointment until another MRV fee has been paid"

I have not cancelled any appointment since I booked the appointment. I don't know why this came up.
I'm reapplying and the school resumes on 10th Jan.
Anybody with any clue if there is something I can do? Thank you

So sorry about your delayed visa, i understand what it's takes to be destabilized before interview, that makes me remember my first interview around May, when myself and other friend entered a one chance bus on our way to the embassy, those guys no get mercy atall, thank God we didn't go with our phones, they only left #500 for the two of us, me and my guy just turn mumu after the scene grin, after that we still go face another passport palava from those guys hustling at the embassy gate, we were forced to take another passport on credit and gave them our wallets containing ATM cards and other stuffs, na blue paper still end the whole thing.

Just prepare your self well and refire, God of favor will speak for you.

Thanks bro.
I will make amend.

jerrypeacelinks:

Sorry for your delayed visa bro. I sincerely know how you feel cos am a CLUB MEMBER grin grin sad sad
However, its time to brace up and treat your mistakes before reapplying.
Here are my observations:

The words in BOLD prints for me was a red flag. The VO will be like WTF? What have you been doing here in Nigeria? Where do you work already? Or you are only thinking of pursuing a lecturing job when you return? What if the lecturing job doesn't come? Nah, this guy wantu migrate angry

My advise:
You have a job. What will this masters do for you at your present work place? Or do you want to resign? Y not make it clearer.

My opinion though.

I wish us luck.

Visa denied today at Lagos embassy.

I myself know I made a mistake even before I entered the interview room. I'm posting this so that others will learn and avoid such mistakes.

I got there around 5:30 am, I was about to enter when I was told to produce the GT payment receipt, since I tot all dey need was the confirmation and appointment papers. I discovered I don't have it with me, so I had to go back to the biz centre, called my wife to snap it and send it to me so we can print it there. She sent it, but unfortunately, they were having network problem over there, from that early morning i was able to get it done around 9:09am, so I was already anxious and exhausted.

Transcript:
Vo: why are you going to America
Me: I'm going to America to pursue master in computer science
Vo: why do you want to do masters
Me: to increase my knowledge in computer science and be vast in the field because I want to go into lecturing when I return to Nigeria
Vo: why do you want to lecture?
Me: it has been my dream to impart the coming generation with IT knowledge in Computer science to keep them up to date with the latest curiculum that I will be learning from America. (My voice shake here bacause of what happened before I entered, I was weak)
Vo: who will be sponsoring your education?
Me: my brother; he's an architect and has a consultancy firm in 3 states and also has a school in kaduna (he just yinmu)
Vo: I'm sorry bla.. bla..bla.. just brought out the blue paper and said I'm free to reapply

I guess I missed it when I was explaining why I wanted to lecture. I also tot I shouldn't have mention lecturing, but honestly, that's what I intend to do when I decide to return home.

I'm planning to reapply immediately, since there is still space this year.
I need corrections and advises.
Thank you

Sevis ID is on your I20 and it starts with N00xxxxx and you can fill visa application form before pay for sevis fee and you just need to be care when doing the calculation for sevis payment so that you won't end up not paying before going for interview

Studying in U.S requires full attention. I'm sure you can't combine the stress of keeping up with your family with the rigorous studies in a new environment in your first semester. Go and start your first semester first, then you can start thinking of bringing your family over.

Is he not the owner of the accounts? Evidence of financial capabilities covers all his accounts. As long as the money meet the required amounts, you can use them all.

Ok. Thank you

I dont think it should affect your chances. but the candid advice is that you should first go and they should later get F2 visa. you know it is a new terrain. except you have much money.

Thank you

I thought someone already responded to you? The truth of the matter is your wife and daughter can go to the embassy with you for an interview but it's always nice to go first and use them for home ties. After that, they apply for F-2.

Secondly, applying together at the same time would indicate financial burden for you. Your spouse isn't going to work out there and that will be expensive for you too. The US is not Nigeria. So, take it step-by-step. And get a scholarship in order to reduce your expenses.

Thank you very much.
Just got the other response as well

Find out how much in USD that is required for your sponsor to have to cover your 1yr expense & multiply by 361. If its equal to or above 9.8 you are good to go.

Ok. Thank you
