Umueme:
Do we really need this now? Of what economic essence is this road? Nigeria and misplaced priorities. We only endure all this rubbish cos we vote alongside illiterate and unenlightened people who only care for money given to them at the polling booth, and not what each person on the ballot has to offer

#MyOpinion

Capital expenditure is one of the way government create jobs.
The construction will create jobs and help businesses.
You shouldn't expect government to focus food or one aspect alone and abandon other sectors.
Or you expect government to keep giving palliatives/handouts

Politics / Re: Nigeria Must Recruit Selfless, Transformational Leaders – Obasanjo by adexpa(m): 12:00pm On Mar 06
For me, I do not think the form of democracy we adopted is the problem, but the people. Africans need new minds, new ways of seeing life. Africans do not understand wealth creation process, and they think money can only be made through stealing.
The bottom line of all the problems is money, and until the subject is properly addressed, we will remain a fantastically corrupt place.
We need to build young minds who understands that through hard work, integrity, dedication and commitment to a course, success can be achieved. We need to build minds that can create wealth from any field without stealing.
When people can build wealth without stealing mindset, they can go into politics loaded with several businesses bringing money for them and not rely on common wealth.
The continent that embrace democracy are human like us, but they chose to work unanimously for a single objective (national development) and not personal development.

Until mind is free, the whole body remain in prison

The most easiest job in this world is the job of a spectator. He only sit, and watch thing as they unfold and then give the perfect advice on how the person who did it should have done it.
Consumption to Production (Demand and supply) is the basic economic mathematics that even the woman in the market understand talkless of the educated people in power.
Nigeria Consumption/Production habit has been a major problem for years and you can not expect that to be turned around overnight.
Government can not focus only on one thing; while they find ways on Consumption/Production, they need to work on saboteurs who take advantage of the system.

We all need to understand that all develop countries got there through different reforms and policies; several trials before they could find the suitable one. Policies are peculiar to culture and environment too; the policies that work in a sincere environment will be tough to find place in a country like Nigeria where almost everybody is a thieve.

Political, ethnical and religious sentiments are the biggest threat to will power. Many leaders got many things to execute but they bow to society outcry due to sentiments. It take a leader who have got the ball to ignore public outcry on every decisions. We need to be more national incline than regional, ethnic, and religion.

It has been from one financial crime to the other in this administration.

It shouldn't come as a surprise to sane individuals, because the head itself is rotten, you don't expect the body to be fresh, do you? 🙂

The only thing surprising is that those f00ls that insulted GEJ and calling his government corrupt are all quiet, because the current ineffectual buffoon is from their region.

As usual, they'll come here to defend these criminals just like they're trying to defend Tunji-Ojo.

Utill you reorientate yourself and accept reality that your idol lost the election and embrace the winner as your president, you will keep neglecting facts because you are blinded with what you never wanted to hear. The corruption became obvious these days because EFCC has been unravelling and unveiling them. Most of these cases had happened years back but no one talk about it. Embrace the reality and begin to pave ways for your breakthrough rather than looking for messiah in human beings like you.

It is both blessing and curse depending on the user.

Probing all of them will likely result in an effort in futility. They should just get them to do plea bargaining with everyone bringing ordinary 50% of the loot to the Treasury. If we can achieve that, Nigeria might get back to its foot.

Yes, that's my thoughts. They will be probe and allow to pay some portion of the stolen money if find guilty. There's no need jailing. There should be a diplomatic way to fight corruption in a system entrenched with corruption like Nigeria. Our system and ways of life ( culture) embrace corruption.

Hypocrisy of the highest order. You highlighted the solution yourself (standing up to help with the chores), but you are lazy enough not to start doing what you know is the solution to the problem you mentioned.
The truth is that you're enjoying him doing it while you sleep around and keep lying that you are feeding the child.
You obviously want him do more, you want him finish house chores and add cuddling and romance.
You do not need advice because you know the solution already.

The president has done what he dimmed right for his image, there is no need for too much uproach because nobody can do anything if he chose to ignore the boy and allow him into the meeting. I guess the boy was trying to deep himself into real politics and leadership through firsthand experience, but his father said he is not allowing such approach. Lets stop the act of holier, majority of us will do more if we have the same opportunity. I can imagine what people will say if he decided to bring his son into government by giving him appointment because this is not new, Trump and many leaders had done such it the past(no law that forbid such).

We need to understand that there is no real right and wrong in life. Your right is your reality and mine is my reality.

Brother, I understand you want to be in charge which is normal for responsible guy, but your case is different, your wife family has it all and they can not close eyes and not take care of their sister. Since she is not using it against you and her family are not complaining, I think you should use your energy to build yourself up and stop complaining. Learn to overlook and ignore most of these things you mentioned. You didn't mention that she's rude. Focus on building yourself and allow her to enjoy her family in peace. The day you start to ignore, peace becomes your identity because she will never stop. You want her to manage when there is abundance, it is not possible. You can not choose suffer when there's excess somewhere. Face important things

True leadership is not by papers, but by exemplary actions actions. Leaders are people who by no privileges and authorities exhibit excellent results. Leaders are people who do what it takes to make life of the followers better even with national resources. Enough of all these political rascalities, all the papers acquisitions just to prove you're educated beyond your counterparts. Certificate is not the show of knowledge, but the dispensation of wisdom. Show yourself approved, let people know your capacity through your actions. How has he presented himself all this while in the political arena, all he show us is his material possession and not knowledge. I can't see brilliant projects when he was a senator.

People like Falana, Wole Soyinka and some other prominent Nigerians who were not politicians were part of the movement then.

Nobody brought us here other than the greedy people who got opportunities to be in power. Majority of them are going about saying rubbish about the government of today because there is no opportunity for them to steal, they are acting like Saint and someone who cares. The past really needs to be visited and dealt with harshly. We need to send signals to the future by properly dealing with the past.

Celebrities / Re: "Why I Will Never Tell My Mum Any Secret Again" – Tiwa Savage by adexpa(m): 6:14pm On Aug 03, 2023
I have come to realised that the only person who can keep secret of a good news is your enemy, because he/she is never happy for your progress, and disclosing it will look like promoting you. Believe me or not, there's never a good news you shared with friends or family that is a secret, they will surely share it with someone. It's very tough to hold good news. If it is easy to hold the news, the owner of the news wouldn't share it. Sharing a good news doesn't mean the person hate you, but they can not hold the joy just the way you can not hold it. Anything you want to keep secret, please keep it to yourself. You scammed yourself whenever you disclosed information and asked the person not to tell someone else

There are too many things to pay for in marriage, and bride price is just token. No matter how rich a woman, the husband is still the financial driver.

Take some steps backward and relax about the whole thing, reduce your fantasies about the same birth day and liking the same food. Relax and look at the whole scenario before you deep yourself into a pit you will never get out of. It looks like you're been driven by emotion, and that might be dangerous for you. The wife family will frustrate your marriage through your wife with unnecessary demand even if you're able to bribe your way into marrying her. Relax and reset the whole thing, stop pressing for marriage. You will find another good woman the way you met her too. The current person will always be better until you meet another person. Allow yourself to see beyond your immediate environment. You can always start again and move faster with another person if situation call for it. Relax

Nairaland / General / The Messiah You Need by adexpa(m): 10:15am On Jul 23, 2023
I have come to realise that the only messiah you need is yourself.
It's important to know when and how to stand up and take charge of your life. The reality is that no one will help you except you take control. Mentorship has been the biggest way through which people find their ways out of struggle and hardship of life. The easiest way to find Mentorship is through book. Read books from great minds, read books from people you admire and look up to. Book has been known to be a catalyst which drives people out of emotional imbalance, financial staggering, intelligence deficiency and more.

Read books today and be free from crisis and dogmas. Read books and stop looking for messiah in politicians and government, they will only use you to climb ladders and achieve their long time ambition.

Below are good books for you

1) Think and grow rich
2) power of positive thinking
3) Billionaire next door
4) Atomic habits
5) the 7 habits of highly effective people
6) the essence of success
7) The psychology of money
cool the 12 week year
9) the art of getting things done
10) the magic of thinking big

There's a real need to be serious and focus early and forever. One need to think about the kind of future he/she envisage and how to get there. I long for a powerful future, and looked for book that drives reality and sense to my brain early. I read books like poor dad rich dad, powerful of positive thinking, think and grow rich. I learnt from books that no job is menial, as long as you can earn reasonable money from it. I understood early that my certificate will not afford me the kind of future I envisaged. I understood that relationship with woman(girlfriend) should be treated like business; don't have girlfriend who can not take care of herself, don't listen to people who tells you marriage is a blessing. If you have to allow a woman into your life at all, let it be a woman with clear goal and direction, let it be a woman who is building her life already, don't go for a woman with entitlement; only pussy and appearance. Go for woman who believes she can make money and she's making it gradual already. Please, don't spend your early income on family, friends and woman, please don't start by building house, go for things that will increase your income, grow your sources of income at all cost. Think of what you can invest or business you can do while you're making money from either employment or side jobs. Please, do any job( danfo driver, marwa driver, bike rider, truck driver , goods transport), do not care about what people will say, drop your certificate once no job is forth coming after NYSC and involve yourself in any job that can give you money to move from one business to another. Please, avoid woman that's a liability or avoid woman completely at the beginning. Focus life seriously as a young man, women who have values will locate you with time .

Gullibility......it's so easy to fool poor masses because all they expect is a messiah. When people lost their rights to think, when they are clueless about the direction of their daily meal, they look for messiah. PO is like every genuine human, he is not different nor special, but because majority of his followers are not genuinely genuine, so they saw him as a messiah who is holier than everybody. PO is not different from the likes of Tinubu, Atiku and the rest. PO has taken advantage of Nigeria state to make wealth like every other successful business people. PO was never interested in politics until his lecturer encouraged him. Was Nigeria not in a bad state in those years he went to sit in UK and enter Nigeria as uncern citizen.

He is a good guy like every other guys out there, but he is not the messiah people painted him.

From your Yarns, You are Saying Only a Man is Meant to Suffer...and when things become Soft/rosy, You Bring a Lady onboard.

Reality:
Things are Not Rosy for Life. When you Hit your all-time Low, Your Girl will SERVE you Breakfast (Leave You)....Because as you said Above She is not suppose to suffer with You.

So Who Will You Blame Then?
I Guess You will still Blame Yourself

well done bro

I was not saying until it is soft, i said until the path is clearly defined and you are sure of the direction. Your business might not bring in reasonable returns for years from commencement , but you are sure it will pick with consistency and perseverance; you have taken your time and energy to study and understand how things work in the path you follow, then you can convince a woman to join the train with evidence of progress. It's not even good for the man to bring a woman when he is not yet sure of himself; he will be frustrated with the burden of his hustle coupled with woman headache.

This was how I lived my life before I got married, just my opinion.......I hate headache, I faced my lane when I was yet sure of my direction.

So you Can not Blame Davido for his Adventures (After Being a Made Man)

I will blame Davido because he was not ready to settle down when he publicly declared Chioma has his wife. Why doing such when you are not ready to commit yourself to the woman.

The same with this guy, why bringing a woman on board when you are still struggling to discover path and purpose, you want her to suffer while you're struggling to find your fit. It's a no no for me. Find your path, walk the path to a reasonable point and then find a lady who is interested in that path to go with you
Career / Re: Man Leaves High Paying Job To Follow His Passion. Wife-to-be "Unfollows" Him by adexpa(m): 3:23pm On Jul 05, 2023
A man does not need any woman in the first place until he can define his path. Let him define his path and purpose, then he can invite a woman to journey together. I can not blame the lady because she was with her based on his previous path, and he has discovered a new path, he will have to walk the path to a reasonable end and them bring in a woman who is ready to go that path with him.
It's foolishness when men complain about women leaving them for economically stabled men. Nobody wants to be suffered. Find a path, walk the path to a reasonable point and then bring a woman on board to walk together

Age does not undermine capacity. So far you are in the right state of mind, you can move mountain irrespective of age.

They only sold that dummy to Africa about youth while developed world are led majorly by old people with experience.

There is no scientifically backed evidence that says young people are more intelligent than old people especially in leadership position.

Thank you brother.
Joe Biden is 80
Donald Trump is in his 70ths
Endorgan of turkey is in his 70ths
Xi Jinping of China is 70.

Leadership at national level always requires some reasonable old age because age comes with experience. You never develop a nation by discarding the older men. The experience of the old and energy of the young build a nation.
I can imagine people discarding someone like Tinubu despite his antecedents in politics and governance. Tinubu plays the major role in bringing about the APC of today; is that a small feet? Tinubus capacity in harmonising and galvanising is too huge.

I wish Nigeria youth can calm down and take judgement from good source and not social media propaganda; people who are looking for what to eat
