*Human Trafficking: Edo Govt. aligns with Benin Monarch's pronouncements* ...Obaseki hails far-reaching orders The Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has said his administration has aligned with the Benin Monarch’s far-reaching decisions and royal pronouncements on human trafficking, cultism and other crimes. At a well-attended meeting of chiefs, dukes, native doctors, priests and priestesses with the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N' Oba N’ Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, on Friday, the Benin Monarch placed curses on the people perpetrating human trafficking in the state. The Benin Monarch also extended the curses to killer gangs and cult groups, armed robbers who have been unleashing terror on innocent people in the state and causing mayhem in the name of cult activities. He nullified all oaths administered by human traffickers through their collaborators; native doctors and priests, on victims of the inhuman trade, with a directive that victims of human trafficking are now free from any spiritual oath. He directed the trafficked persons to speak out and name their slave masters and mistresses and seek help if need be. Obaseki, who hailed the directives of Oba Ewuare II, noted that "the royal intervention would check the menace of human trafficking." He urged the priests, priestesses and native doctors who have been aiding human trafficking in any way, to desist forthwith. "As a government, we have tremendous respect for all Edo people and residents in the state as well as their religious convictions. But we will not accept the perpetration of crime and evil in the name of religion and will not condone any form of support for inhuman practices such as human trafficking." He added: "With Oba Ewuare II's pronouncements, we expect that those people who have been aiding these traffickers would, in their own interest, withdraw their support and focus on their calling. We will not spare anyone irrespective of their religious convictions, when caught. "We are working with the federal government through the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to arrest and jail traffickers and their collaborators. We have a law in the works that will further strengthen this fight and this administration will go after anyone that dares the laws." I am getting fired up for the London Event. I will be helping people build up their online business and develop multiple streams of income there. Meanwhile, Yakubu Jimoh John is getting ready to go to Rwanda. I am sending him to Rwanda to learn new technique for growing mushrooms and banana as thought by the Chinese there and help to lay good contacts for business development in Kigali. The youths are the future so I am happy to invest in him. It is also a testimony to the rest of the youths in Nigeria as to what can happen when you are honest and vibrant and willing to do the work first. I have never personally met Jimoh Yakubu but he has proven to be a reliable and trustworthy young man from the start. Sail on Jimoh. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=342543092918472&id=158338594672257

The generation that will develop Nigeria is not yet born. Like many others, I would like to see a developed Nigeria where poverty is greatly reduced and security reigns. At the same time, I know it is almost an impossible task to do because most Nigerians are not seeking knowledge but looking for money only. Genuine money however, follows knowledge. So, if people are not seeking knowledge it means they can only get access to dubious money. The most common way to get the money is to steal it, one way of the other. Since people who have stolen money are highly respected in the society, it gives good incentive to continue the cycle. From history, those who have knowledge know that such society never ends well. To change this trajectory something fundamental must shift. Such shift is not in the horizon yet in Nigeria. Talk to a 10 years old in Nigeria and all illusions to see a develop Nigeria in your time will disappear before your eyes. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=341422919697156&id=158338594672257 cc: lalasticlala and mynd44 cc: seun and maclatunji

Chicken Diseases and Treatments Diseases can spread from wild birds and pests, so keep an eye out during your daily health checks for the symptoms listed below. 1. Avian Pox/Fowl Pox: If you notice that your chickens develop white spots on their skin, scabby sores on their combs, white ulcers in their mouth or trachea, and their laying stops then you should grow concerned that your chickens are developing Fowl Pox. There are treatment options for Fowl Pox. You can feed them soft food and give them a warm and dry place to try and recoup. With adequate care, there is a great chance that your birds can survive this illness. Symptoms: White spots on skin; combs turn into scabby sores; white membrane and ulcers in mouth, on trachea; laying stops; all ages affected. How contracted: Viral disease; mosquitoes, other chickens with pox and contaminated surfaces. Treatment: Supportive care, warm dry quarters, soft food; many birds with good care will survive. Vaccine available: Yes; recovered birds are immune and do not carry the disease. 2. Botulism: Symptoms: Tremors quickly progressing to paralysis of body, including breathing; feathers pull out easily; death in a few hours. How contracted: Caused by a bacterial byproduct and by eating or drinking botulism-infected food or water Treatment: Antitoxin available from vet but expensive. If found early try 1 teaspoon Epsom salts dissolved in 1 ounce warm water dripped into crop several times a day. Vaccine available: None; locate and remove source, usually decaying carcass, meat near water, or insects that fed on the meat or the water the carcass is in. 3. Infectious Bronchitis This disease hits close to home because it wiped out half of our flock when we were new to raising chickens. You’ll recognize this disease when you begin to hear your chickens sneezing, snoring, and coughing. And then the drainage will begin to secrete from their nose and eyes. Their laying will cease too. But the good news is you can get a vaccine to stop this disease from impacting your chickens. However, if you decide against that then you will need to move quickly when seeing these signs. Infectious Bronchitis is a viral disease and will travel quickly through the air. To treat Infectious Bronchitis, give your chickens a warm, dry place to recoup. I gave my birds a warm herb tea and fed them fresh herbs, which seemed to help. http://www.agricinfo.com/2018/03/common-chicken-disease-and-treatment.html?m=0

Why do evil and mediocres reign in Africa? Because good men are not honored. Period. Nobody remember them or their work after they are dead. In Africa, it seems the worse you are the more you are remembered. The good ones are left to rot. That is why I have created a Scholarship Award for Computer Science to honour the late governor of Bendel State, Professor Ambrose Folorunsho Alli (22 September 1929 – 22 September 1989). This man affected the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in positive ways. Most of them are over 50 year old today and have since forgotten what he did. The scholarship will be awarded to deserving students to study computer science in any University in Africa. It will start in the 2018 academic year. Stay tuned for more information. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=340025349836913&id=158338594672257
