it's high time all states start having their own police. state policing will go a long way. our police force is just too small in number to maintain peace and security within the country.

as for insurgency attack is the best form of defense. I don't like our armies approach, sitting back and allowing bokoharam to regroup and attack them before they attack back. get more weapons and go on the offensive full scale, anyone that supports them like sheikh Gummi is doing will be arrested as soon as possible.

the moment we all cool me to the reality that nobody is perfect only then can we have a good relationship. never go through your partner's chats, never do that, you'll definitely see something, when tho she may not be having any affairs outside but you'll see something and you definitely misinterprete it and from there problems will start. love your partner knowing fully well that she's not perfect as you are not. plenty of forgiveness is needed as well, as in plenty of it.

Grand canyon is not evidence for the flood, the time line for the formation of the canyon and the flood is far apart.

What’s the measurement of the ark so we can do the maths by ourself.

Your number 3 and 7 are religious fantasies with no evidence
Religious fantasies you say, you have nothing to say to refute it do you ?

If what happened in lake dam Texas where the canyon was formed in 3 days of heavy flood, why is the grand canyons any different?

Check the soil formations of the canyons and you'll know for sure that it was caused by flooding.

I created a thread in the religious forum but all atheists in here avoided it like a plague. I'm still waiting for you guys to respond on the thread.

Truth be told with d way Nigeria's politics is bin done, I don't think a genuine Christian can survive it.... cos it's either he stay off or he join dem....... Nigeria's politics is a mess which is run by heartless pple who doesn't want any good for d nation.......
That's left to the individual. If you want to Do good you'll do it no matter where you are. Let's look at the wicked kings in the Bible. Check the Bible all the wicked kings brought hardship on the people. Except for the few wicked kings who later had just people like Nehemiah and Daniel and Joseph. Daniel filled together with so many wicked kings but he became a guide to them, he kept doing good, he stood by his ethics and God stood by him and at last his good did prevailed at the end.

As Christians we are to let our light shine any where we are. If we refuse to go into politics, who will shine the light amongst this people? Those of you who are scared to go into politics should not discourage those who want to go by coming up with different opinions from the Bible to back up your claim because the Bible never condemned or admonished that Christians should not go into politics, Jesus himself never said we should not go into politics. The least you people can do is to pray that God should raise up men like Daniel, Joseph , Nehemiah and others who will stand for the right and change the system and country for good.

But does it not matter to you what Jesus said about politics, and how the first century Christians abided by this instruction from their master?
Be careful not to allow personal preference from blurring the truth to you. It is the same as someone saying today that it is ok for a Christian to have more than one wife because God allowed it among his faithful worshippers in the old testament, people like Abraham, David and the rest of them.
And what did Jesus say about politics? Oya come and tell lies.

Kobojunkie:
You are indeed free to interpret His teachings and works as you choose to.
According to the story, the man had no political dealings as His focus was on God and the things of God as far as His Kingdom was concerned. And His good deeds were not to buy political clout in this World, nor in His Kingdom. According to Him, He served His disciples and people as a servant would... Herod and the Pharisees who were the leaders of that time never did any of that. undecided
Yes, the leaders at the time(The priests, and High priests, the Pharisees, and teachers of the Law, etc.) felt threatened by Him because He had and showed no respect for their offices and their opinions, especially where God is concerned - the power they wielded over the people. But that wasn't of Jesus's fault now, was it. undecided
And when asked whether He was the leader/King of the Jews, Jesus Christ was quite clear in making it clear to them that His Kingdom was not of this world. undecided
Yeah he's Kingdom was not of this world but how did he win so many crowd over? He used politics . Politics is a way of life, it's everywhere. tongue tongue

Kobojunkie:
I am afraid I made a mistake in my previous response to you. Yes, you can be your own boss and run your own business. Technically, what Jesus Christ had with His disciples can be construed as a business relationship of sorts where Jesus Christ, the business owner, offered a service to His clients, His disciples, and the people at the time, by serving them, through the taking care of their needs, and wants, and instructing them of the Truth as far as His Kingdom is concerned.
You have to pay attention to the rule here as far as what Jesus Christ means. He did not state that His followers are only those who will remain at the level of unskilled labourers.

As far as excelling at anything, there is no rule against that. One is able to excel at whatever one desires to excel at. One does not need to be a leader or an authority in order to excel at what one does. Mediocrity is a choice.
Now you shoot yourself in the foot. If Jesus can be constructed by you as a business man then it's safe to say that he was also a leader as well. In a way that way political, he fed people , did miracles and swayed people to himself that the Romans feared he was going to overthrow their government. How much more can politics be seen than what Jesus used? Politics is a way of life you get.

How Did Jesus View Politics?
How Did Jesus View Politics?

THE Gospel writers describe several events in Jesus’ ministry that brought him face-to-face with politics. For instance, shortly after Jesus’ baptism at about the age of 30, the Devil offered him the position of world ruler. Later in his ministry, a crowd wanted to make him their king. Still later, people tried to turn him into a political activist. How did Jesus react? Let us consider these events.

World ruler. The Gospels state that the Devil offered Jesus rulership over “all the kingdoms of the world.” Think of how much good Jesus could have done for suffering mankind if he had wielded the power of a world ruler! What politically oriented individual sincerely concerned with mankind’s advancement could resist such an offer? But Jesus refused it.—Matthew 4:8-11.

King. Many of Jesus’ contemporaries were desperate for a ruler who could solve their economic and political problems. Impressed by Jesus’ abilities, the people wanted Jesus to join the political process. What was his reaction? Gospel writer John states: “Jesus, knowing they were about to come and seize him to make him king, withdrew again into the mountain all alone.” (John 6:10-15) Clearly, Jesus refused to become involved in politics.

Political activist. Note what happened days before Jesus was put to death. Disciples of the Pharisees, who favored independence from the Roman Empire, joined by Herodians, members of a political party favoring Rome, approached Jesus. They wanted to force him to take a political position. They asked if the Jews should pay taxes to Rome.

Mark recorded Jesus’ response: “‘Why do you put me to the test? Bring me a denarius to look at.’ They brought one. And he said to them: ‘Whose image and inscription is this?’ They said to him: ‘Caesar’s.’ Jesus then said: ‘Pay back Caesar’s things to Caesar, but God’s things to God.’” (Mark 12:13-17) Commenting on the reason for Jesus’ response, the book Church and State—The Story of Two Kingdoms concludes: “He refused to act the part of a political messiah and carefully established both the boundary of Caesar and that of God.”

Problems such as poverty, corruption, and injustice did not leave Christ unmoved. In fact, the Bible shows that he was deeply touched by the pitiful state of the people around him. (Mark 6:33, 34) Still, Jesus did not start a campaign to rid the world of injustices, although some tried hard to get him embroiled in the controversial issues of the day.

Clearly, as these examples show, Jesus refused to get involved in political affairs. But what about Christians today? What should they do?
Why should Jesus accept the devil's offer to rule the world when he owns the world? Going by your logic Jesus and the disciples didn't have jobs as they were told to leave everything take up their cross and follow Christ, why do you as a Christian have a job?

Do politicians show off their authority over the people?

Christianity EtcRe: 7 Reasons Why The Noah’s Ark Story Is A Myth. by Adjovi:
1. You said can be proven but not proven?
2. What other civilization could have mentioned it if they didn't witness it? It was written by the person who witnessed it. Meanwhile your assertions are still wrong because over 200 cultures mentioned something about a catastrophic flood.
3. The grand canyon was a perfect example. Scientists doubted and rubbished this claim until 2002 small canyon lake/dam in Texas was formed by a flood in just 3days. So now there is every possibility that a great flood could have caused this to happen. Fossils of marine life found in canyons, in deserts and on land far from the ocean or river.
4. If you read the account of the flood very well it says the water came from above and below. The earth is more water than land. We can see the level of damages tsunamis can do now imagine a bigger tsunami of a world wide magnitude.

5.According to ark measurements, the big boat had about as much space as 250 railroad stock cars, which some folks have calculated can hold between 20,000 and 40,000 animals roughly the size of sheep, however it could still hold 70,000 species of animals with its enormous size without sinking. Literally it was the size of a standard football field and a half. Scientists have calculated the dimensions of the ark and as far as naval architecture is concerned, the ark was good to go.
6. well in the medieval times when there were no cars, planes, ships etc, people traveled and migrated all over the world and settled in every part of the world even in the coldest and hottest regions if humans can migrate that far why not animals?. Also there's evidence some people brought in animals present in their place to a region that does not have it. E.g introduction of foxes in North America. Probably some animals have been moved about this way aswell.
7. Once again if you study the account of the flood it says " the windows of heaven (cloud and normal rain) then it says the fountains of the deep" definitely water coming directly from beneath the earth will be greater and of more force and proportion....

So the account of the flood is possible thank you.

Jesus Christ did good to at least 5000 people that we are aware of. He was certainly not trying to compete with the government in anyway but He did a lot of good, yet all that good did not change the path His people were headed as a nation, neither did It change the political views any. undecided

As for Jesus Christ and His disciples not having jobs, that is a good observation and a topic to be left for another thread. undecided
Nah it should be said now. You said Jesus didn't occupy political position so Christians too should not. Jesus didn't have a job either so why are Christians searching for jobs and gaining employment?
