I was in university during IBB' s coup and his coup was due to GMB' s rigidity and stubbornness. When they overthrew Shagari in the first coup they went to beg Buhari to be Head of State because of his reputation as GOC when he beat back invasions from Chad and Cameroon deep into both countries on two occasions. Buhari had all drug smugglers and armed robbers shot and the NSO was almost arresting g Babangida. When he was Head f State, the whole country sat up and no slackness was permitted. Is that the nature of a weak man?. Also the story about not passing g examinations is blatantly false, nobody in the army attends more than three advanced courses if he did not do well at lower ones.

Anybody can fool GEJ's government. They throw money at everything. The US, UK, Chad and Cameroon are examples of countries that have fooled this govt. It is even better if the budget were not read at all than sending the MOF, I don't think anything in the constitution says budgets have to be verbally read.... the US president does not read budget proposals, he sends it as a letter to congress and Senate. Interestingly the US has not had a single budget in the last four years since Obama came into office. It has been short term expenditure agreements.

Jonathan cannot delegate presidential functions to the minister of finance. The Vice President is ''part of the presidency'' to borrow your expression and should be the one to read it if the President is too SHY to read the speech before hostile legislators.

Ii have nno doubt in my mind that GEJ means well for a United Nigeria. His long term policies on agriculture, automobile, power road map, gas distribution projects, railways, education (alamajiri schools etc) and even the subsidy removal are all geared towards a prosperous future.

We Nigerians are so short sighted and only interested in immediate gains. The enemies of Nigeria are busy fanning the ambers of insurgency and anarchy ...... But if only Nigerians could quit emotions and view things objectively knowing that no messiah will come an clear our 100years mess in 8years..... Support this government and work towards better days.

GEJ means well. Everybody means well. The man is not capable is what we are saying. There is a difference between meaning well and being capable. Stop reciting government speeches for us, Abacha also had promises when he was removing oil subsidy, he set up PTF to chqnnel the money into infrastructure, education and agriculture but corruption killed everything before release of money to PTF. Obasanjo had the most beautiful visioning process possible, they brought Vision 2020 and MDG corruption has also distorted that to such an extent that the power generation portion of that plan saw expenditure of $12bn without anything to show.

Now this woman becoming president of gas exporting countries has some people congratulating her and GEJ without thinking.
Our LNG plant is supposed to be earning us $1.5bn a year, where is the money?. The NLNG taxes are also supposed to be about $350million, where is the money?. Also what is her agenda for gas exporting, the price is already down, Europe is buying from Russia which is the cheapest for them and only China and India really need our stuff so what is the point in forming a cartel in a market that is a buyers market.

Nothing here shows why and how Jonathan will win.

This is self deceit of the worst order. I have schooled and worked with northern xtians and they were more pro NPC, NPN, APC than even the Muslims. There is no religious war amongst northerners. People are deceiving themselves. The north is united and I have accused them of tribalism many times the way they act as a bloc. There is a small issue between Southern and Northern Kaduna but that wont translate to votes for GEJ on the basis of religion.
