Of course both studies can coexist in the school technically. But this is a country of predominantly muslims, over 90%. So their laws are bound to be influenced by Islam, which disapproves of music. So if over 90% of a country's citizenry does not approve of learning it, of what use is putting it there and making them learn it? If muslims were making this demand in a place like in the UK, then of course it is out of place for them to do so.

May be you need to reread the news once again to understand it better.

The school board introduced more positions under music and physical education in a single communication. The people protested against that release on the grounds that schools were lacking in enough religious instructors but instead of addressing that issue, the ministry is adding extra position for music teachers.

"Various religious and political organizations raised objections, demanding the creation of religious teacher positions instead of music teachers, and launched protests."

Then as a result of these protests, the communication was withdrawn.

So the people's grouse was against the bringing in of more music teachers and not particularly against physical education which was contained in the bulletin as well. The people know what they wanted and they know where their distaste was. But when the enemy wants to attack and smear Islam, they know how to deliver the combo to front their mischief. Only discerning eyes are able to see through most times and there's nothing to be ashamed of.

U are just trying to play the report to make ur Islamic brothers justified....

Unfortunately, your erroneous adherence to sola scriptura doesn't let you understand howvthe church has worked for 2000 years. Even the bible that you currently reference had to be canonised by this same church you vilify. Where there are disagreements or unclear doctrines, the church comes in to clear things up just like it did on the judaizer issue in Acts 15.
There are so many teachings you take for granted now that had to be clarified by this same church centuries ago.

u forgot, the policy with rice ?? They stopped rice importation.....but they had already destroyed the naira, petrol expensive, electricity cost was sky high, cost of every other thing in the production chain of manufacturers had significantly increased... So the effect was of closing border against rice was little and local producers just passed the burden in addition to their greed on masses....

Nigeria is a very weird country....this increase in tarrif should kill imports and help drive success of local production......but we are just deceiving ourself..
.this is not a ban....marketers won't back down...they will keep importing both them and dangote will reach an agreement of how they can both thrive in the market and eventually push the burden on everyday Nigerian, who already is struggling to survive
