When is the women's 4x100 relay final?

CFCfan: The attendance for the athletics events may have been a reason Abuja was denied the rights. It wouldn't have looked camera-friendly to see only 2000 fans in a 60,000 capacity stadium. I recall it was only the volleyball finals which came close to attracting a capacity crowd in 2003.

My thoughts exactly. It's not always about the facilities you have but also whether or not there's a sports culture. We're just not there yet as far as hosting such competitions are concerned. We should focus on alleviating poverty first before hosting global events. The All African Games was embarrassing enough despite all the money spent.

We just don't have the culture. The atmosphere seemed different from what i see in other places. The stadium was virtually empty. The announcer was also mediocre. twa.

Thank God Abuja(Nigeria) did not win the commonweealth hosting rights. What a bore.

is it not unfair for someone to qualify and then be replaced by someone else. I can not run in the qualifiers only to be replaced by someone else who will pick the medals.

I don't understand how this relay ish works. From what i heard, Okagbare will replace one of the runners in the finals. If we win, who are they going to give the medal to?

CFCfan: I think a decision was made in the UK to allow the Home nations to compete individually in the CWG to give them some measure of independence. Recall that the other 3 home nations were essentially conquered by England and made to form a UK sovereign state.

Maybe England made the suggestion after looking at a rare opportunity for them to win a competition.

I wish Okagbare will retain the tempo till Rio 2016. There's no reason why she can't be the olympic champion in both the 100 and 200 meters. Who has she not beaten? She has beaten Shelly Ann Fraser pryce, Camelita Jetter, Allyson Felix and Veronica Campbell.

The video is really funny and has some truth in it. Apart from the commonwealth games being a competition that brings Britain's former colonies together, it is a place where small countries can console themselves. We can all agree that there is little or no competition in the commonwealth games. Nonetheless, i like watching the sprints irrespective of the competition.

It's even good that the US is not part of the commonwealth games. They would have swept 70% of the medals.
