Peter Obi won't even come close to his record because everything Peter Obi did are already being forgotten but Obiano's legacies will stand the test of time.
Peter Obi's legacy are already make belief story because nobody is seeing anything again. The roads will be reconstructed because they have started wearing off but Obiano's own is going to be visible for decades to come.
In summary, make your effort wort it. Peter Obi might be smarter but Obiano is now a legend compared to him. I pity Peter Obi.
In the next 50 years or after Nigeria, when people talk about Anambra state and her governors, the only name that will be easy to remember will be Obiano because when the question "what did they do during their tenure" other governors record will be on grammar because the roads they did have already been reconstructed, agencies changed and others removed but this Airport can only be maintained or upgraded and forever be remembered as what The people of old Anambra state got from their governor during the governors era.

This is exactly why some Governors embark on white elephant projects even if their states do not need them. Anybody who constructs massive bridges, airports, train stations etc will definitely be remembered more than people who actually empowered the people.

Even though I feel Obiano fell short in his second tenure, I think this airport will make his name be talked about long after he has left office.

But come to think of it, Ronaldo has got to have the greatest PR team in the history of world football. Like how were we convinced that Ronaldo had a better International career? Like how? Messi that has been winning international trophies for his country since he was pretty young does not have a good international career like Ronaldo that won nothing until in 2016 when he won the Euros. I really don't understand why people are sentimental and bias about this issue.

It makes more sense for the Edo state Government to keep it since where the bronzes were taken are now under their jurisdiction.

The reason it should not be handed over to the Oba of Benin is because the traditional system has no recognized role under the constitution and there are no checks and balances to check the excesses of the traditional body. For instance, what stops the present Oba from keeping those bronzes as his personal property if handed over to him.

Lets be honest, the anambra thread is full of fighting and insults and reposting of same pictures that we have seen a thousand times. That anambra thread should be only 300 pages if you delete all the nonsense going on there. Same with the imo state thread.

So I dont mind this thread being the way it is if people have no reasonable updates to post.

Aside the fighting and bickering, we can't deny that Anambra is progressive and it's reflective in the way that thread grows. Whenever I want to see anything new that is happening in Anambra, i go to that page. Mind you, it's not just because the government is doing so much but also because of projects embarked upon by individuals.

There's no gain saying that Ugwuanyi is the worst thing ever to happen to Enugu state and it's evident in the way this thread died a natural death and it happened very quickly.

Wow, this is nice. Why are people not investing heavily in Imo state? We Ndi Imo ,I think we have the highest emigrants out of all the Igbo speaking states. We need to breed a new consciousness amongst ourselves separate from our brothers from other states. We need a new strategy to develop the three cities in Imo to full capacity. I don't like this emptiness I am seeing around Imo state. I know after Anambra we are the next in terms of population, we may be even much more than them. I know we have the highest human resources presently 2021 in Nigeria. We are the most literate state in Nigeria. We need a new consensus amongst ourselves especially our elites. We need to develop Imo state RADICALLY, people from Akokwa, osina, Orlu , the rest can develop a strategy to develop Orlu axis optimally. The problem with Imo people is the "Ala wu otu" issue. If all Igbo state can start investing heavily in their homseland the way Anambra people are doing, the east will be an envy in 20 years time.

The black population in London is just 1 million out of 9 and Nigerians are not even the largest black group in London. That title belongs to Jamaicans and people from the carribean. The population of Nigerians in the UK in general should not be more than 400k at most.

What is better, paying smaller amount to mushroom companies every few years because the roads don't last or awarding them to reputable construction companies that will construct roads that can last you decades. These government people are just using it as an avenue to steal.

The contractor was incompetent, the road was revoked and re-awarded to Leo9 const. The company that handled relief market road, dick tigers road, and polynekede road. Construction will resume in few days time according to official source.

Who are these mushroom construction companies? Will the Imo government die if they award contract to the likes of Julius Berger or Arab Contractors to construct more quality roads that will last?

I have been wondering which country has the most Nigerian Immigrants. I know there are sizeable amount of Nigerians in the UK, USA, South Africa, Ghana, Dubai, China, Italy, France, Turkey, Benin, Cameroon , virtually on every country

It's not the UK. The reason it seems like the UK is because it's a small country and most Nigerians there live in London and when there's a Nigerian thing happening in London, they all come out. I think there are more Nigerians in the US but are spread out in the 4th largest country in the world.

I'll say the US then followed by the UK. I also have a strong feeling that there are a lot of Nigerians in Cameroon but because i'll eyes are not really in that country, we won't know. It's very common to see Nigerian everyday in Cameroon.

Why would government give out land for free, in a CBD for that matter? It doesn't work that way, any investor worth its salt that wants to operate in a CBD should be able to buy the land and develop accordingly.

Bank/Okigwe road and Wetheral road is already CBD of Owerri. It is left for government to make laws through the House of Assembly that any building to be erected in that axis wouldn't be less than 6 floors. It should also be marked as a strictly non residential area, particularly Bank/Okigwe road. Already, there are up to 4 buildings along there that are up to 7 floors or more. But more are needed to really make it a befitting CBD for Owerri. How I wish that old and dilapidated building at Warehouse, opposite Iheanacho's house would eventually be demolished and a high rise building erected there.

Also, Hope Uzodinma needs to complete that multi level car park opposite Garden Park so it be put to use.

We need to be futuristic and with that in mind, i don't think Wetheral, Bank Road or Okigwe road should be the CBD of Owerri. The government needs to mark a new area like Ngor-Okpala and plan it very well. Though I agree with you that and should not be given for free.

Seun, I salute you and your effort at making sure Nairaland remains the most important source of information on the Nigerian internet.

However, I think since the last Nairaland update, we've not seen much changes and it's beginning to look antiquated.

So, here are some features that i recommend to be added for nairaland to be in tune with the latest technological trends.

1. Block Feature: I can't begin to state the importance of this feature. Isn't it weird how we cannot block someone from having access to our Nairaland lives?

2. Instagram Videos: I think IG videos should be allowed the same way Youtube videos are allowed such that we can watch the videos on nairaland rather than going to Instagram.

3. Private Messsage: I think the private message feature should be reviewed and reverted to how it used to be. Let's be able to send and receive message on Nairaland rather than going to our emails. Not everyone wants to have their emails revealed when they reply those messages.

4. Integrity system: We need a point based integrity system similar to Reddit.

Please if you have more features that you think is important, please state them. I'll try to remember more.
