A couple of political big wigs from Tinubu to Orji uzor Kalu, Rochas Okorocha have declared their interest to run for president along with those who are yet to declare but are very likely to contest ie Osibanjo, Atiku and co. I think there's a lot of confusion about whom the current president will support to take his place, atleast as far as APC is concerned. Some people think it's Tinubu just because Tinubu supported him and contributed to him becoming president. Others think he might go for a more calm character in osinbanjo. There are also people who think because Buhari is a tribal and religious bigot, he will go for another northerner in Nasir El Rufai.

While all these people are possible picks, no one seems to be paying attention to the current minister of transport and former Governor of Rivers state, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. Infact, recent events have made me believe that Amaechi might just be the man that Buhari has picked to succeed him. Is it a coincidence that Amaechi just got a chieftaincy title in Buhari's hometown? or the fact that Amaecho has begun to wear Isi-Agu a lot in order to push the I-am-Igbo agenda when the time comes.

Valverde was not that bad. The problem was just that it was during his reign that Barcelona began to decline even though they were still okay and one of the best teams in Europe. The problem is always when clubs try to meet up to a standard that they were known for. It's similar to what Man U is doing, trying to get back to the Ferguson days without realizing that they're now a mid table club.

IGBOID is a Linguistic classification of SEVERAL LANGUAGES which are RELATED . This classification was made by LINGUISTS and not anthropologists

It does not tell us anything about the people who speak these languages

The languages were called Igboid simply because Igbo was the language with the largest number of speakers in the LANGUAGE family

Again another point must be noted
All the languages classed as "Igboid" were considered as LANGUAGES in their own right not one the dialect of another

There is no information or claim about which language is older . Rather the assumption is that you have different languages which may have evolved separately from a now extinct ancestor Proto-language

All of this has to do with language and tells us nthing about the ancestry or origin of those speaking the language

Just like speaking English does not make Nigerans of English origin or ancestry

There are so many other language families in the world e.g Romance( Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese etc) . or Germanic( English, Deutsche, Dutch, Flemish etc)

Many people have fallen into the error of extending the scope and meaning of the term "Igboid"

Ikwerre is classified as A LANGUAGE . It is not a dialect of Igbo. As such we cannot assume which came first as some seem to be doing.

Plantain and banana no doubt are related but to say Plantain is older or banana is older needs evidence

Your last point is flawed because the Ikwerres themselves claimed they migrated from Bini and learned the language they currently speak due to their trade with Igbo people. So, based on that, it's not their original language and those names are Igbo names.

Unlike some people, I actually like the fact that hotels are springing up everyday in Owerri. I'll welcome any sort of investment as long as they're legal.

However, i'm waiting for someone to build a super mega hotel. Like a more modern version of Imo Concorde Hotel or Presidential Hotel Port-hacourt with an olympic size swimming pool. There are some big hotels in Owerri but not as big as these hotels I stated and i'm usually dissapointed with the swimming pools of these hotels and it's not just a problem in Owerri but Nigeria. I hate fish pond looking hotels.

There's this seeming toxicity about barca that makes it hard for world class players (usually attacking players) to thrive.

I think it's the system. Or management. Or maybe the philosophy. It take a very special player to excel at the club.
Coutinho was a beast before he came, at Liverpool. He came to barca, he became mickey mouse. He went to bayern, he did well. He came back, he turn an ant. He's gone to Aston villa, he's already hit the ground running.
Let's not get started on Griezmann and Dembele.
If Dembele leaves, I will love him to play under pep one day. I bet he'll be among the top 10 players in the world.

The style of play in the EPL and La Liga are different. That's why a lot of top player in the EPL come to spain and flop hard. In England, physical strength and speed is needed whereas in spain you need a hollistic undertstanding of the technicality of the game. That's why a lot of these players don't do well.

Dembele as a player has his moments but Barca does not really need as he comes to the party once in a while. We need a player that is consistent throughout the season and is not injury prone.

Btw, I think Dembele will light up the EPL as he is a player that needs space to play.

The only group that U can compare to Ibibio is Eket, whom are like ikwerre and Igbo, but they don't deny being Ibibio. They consider themselves subgroup of Ibibio.
Oron is the most similar group to Efiik in Akwa Ibom State, they also acknowledge their relationship with Efiks. So if Oron sharing same state with Ibibio aren't even similar, how much more Efik in another state

Nairaland is no longer an SMF. Yes, it used to be and the database is probably still based on SMF but the forum itself is not.
