I wish we still had Uchenna Emedolu and Olusoji Fasugba because i'm positive that they would have posed some challenge. The men we have now are falling hand seriously.

suxes2005: Afam, where have you been?

You stopped replying my mails.

Thanks for the heads up here.

Mau is an African country so nobody should expect to live and sustain with Lil salary from casual jobs.

All in all, it's a place to be. The ladies, what did you say about em again?
I've been around.

Mauritius is not your typical African country. It is developed to some level. But it is not a country full of industries. It's just a small Island with Tourism, IT and Agriculture(Sugar car) as it's source of income. You can get a job that will sustain you. But not big enough to pay for one's school fees. Like i said, the major limiting factor towards getting a job if knowing how to speak french. Most jobs require fluency in French and English.

Her makeup is tooe xtreme for an average African American. I think there's something about her. I also never knew she was half venezuelan.

She does look like a transvestite. She could be gay or bisexual too. She's crazy sha. I never saw the craziness all these years that she was running for Nigeria.

Missmossy: I believe any relationship whatsoever should be for matured minds. You really don't need all of these to prove a point to the lady in question.

Its damn so obvious that you are pushings things at a pace so distinct from hers. Its high time you wake up and face reality because it looks like you are the only passenger in the journey you are on.
So, it's you sef. Pls, give him a chance. he has proven himself to you. Give him a second chance.

Pls, which one is Hijab and which one is Buqua? As much as everyone have the right to wear whatever they like and i don't think any of them should be banned, for security precautions, people should not be allowed to cover their face in any guise.
SportsRe: 2014 Commonwealth Games Schedule: Okagbare Wins 100m Gold by Afam4eva(m): 4:08pm On Jul 28, 2014
I watched Gloria Asumnu's race. She came second in her heat but i don't think she can reach the final judging by her time. Even if she gets there, she won't make an impact. I wish her the best though.

In the men's sprint, Nigeria's representatives qualified from their heat but what struck me was the name of these guys did not sound Nigerian in anyway. Are they actually Nigerians?
SportsRe: 2014 Commonwealth Games Schedule: Okagbare Wins 100m Gold by Afam4eva(m): 3:59pm On Jul 28, 2014
Which time are you using? Nigerian or British?

I actually see Okagbare winning the finals. her time was the fastest in all the heats.
PoliticsRe: 20 Most Peaceful Countries In The World by Afam4eva(m): 3:15pm On Jul 28, 2014
I almost thought Mauritius didn't make the cut. Mauritius is the most peaceful country in the whole of Africa. You can even go to their ghetto and walk in the night and nothing will happen. It's that peaceful.
TravelRe: Visa To Mauritius by Afam4eva(m): 2:55pm On Jul 28, 2014
ukraine55: This is not about been lazy or lucky, it is about reality, before you start packing that your bag and baggage about to depart from Nigeria for Mauritius, please think twice, i guess your friends are not telling you the truth about Mauritius, i have been here close to two years and i can tell you what it is like here. If you have your money to spend, you are highly welcome.
It is not easy to work and finance your studies here. Your friends may be feeding you with lies by telling you that it is rosy here as that is always the norms for most Nigerians living abroad so as to lure more gullible Nigerians to believing that there is alot to gain here thereby reaping from where they do not so. I knew quit few of them on this Island that are doing that.
I believe the time is now that we youth have to wake up and stop living and believing in the past. Let us adopt the role of telling people what is obtainable or whats not. we have to stop this selfish interest of benefiting from others sweat. If you are coming to Mauritius for studies, get your facts correct research and ask questions, if you do not have anyone to sponsor your education, it is better you invest the little money you have in Nigeria rather than wasting it on a flight ticket.
Mauritius is 2040 km² in Area while Lagos is 999.6 km² meaning that the whole Mauritius is a little bit bigger than the twice of Lagos state and the population is 1.2m the manufacturing sector is like 2% and highly dependent on tourism.
Just this year Febauray, 2 Nigerian students were arrested at the airport with the possession of cocaine.
Like most Nigerian will boost to their peers back home that they are living a good life abroad, don't just rely on their fact verify further.
I endorse this post. This guy obviously knows a lot about Mauritius.

it's a beautiful island country where you can come and relax, spend money and go to school. But don't expect to get a big paying job. The jobs you will get will just be enough for you to feed yourself and probably house yourself but not enough for you to pay for your school fees. Besides, most jobs will require you to be fluent in English and French(Bonsoir). The people who are lucky here are the programmers. Most other international students here work as casual workers in 5 star hotels where they stand from morning to night grin

If you must come to Mauritius, make sure the money throughout your stay is complete. The good things here is that it a relatively developed country. it is clean, peaceful and the ladies are beautiful just like the beaches of Grand Bay, Flic en flaque etc.
SportsRe: Okagbare Faces Stiff Test For 100m C'wealth GOLD, Asumnu Is A Possible Finalist! by Afam4eva(m): 2:17pm On Jul 28, 2014
These british people are unbelievable. I was watching the heat that Blessing Okagbare was running in and guess what the commentator said? England's Asha Phillips wants to make an impact in her first commonwealth games. Nigeria's Blessing Okagbare is also one to watch. No, she's not also one to watch. She is the one to watch. WTF is Asha Phillips when talking about women's sprints. Okagbare is one of the best in the world right now and she's a contender for the crown.

I also watched Gloria Asumnu's race.

CelebritiesRe: The Hottest Yoruba Actresses ( Photos ) by Afam4eva(m): 6:05am On Jul 27, 2014
londoner: I don't see what is beautiful about most of those the OP included though. In my opinion Doris and Mercy are the only pretty ones. The OP should have included Damilola.
She's not a Yoruba actress. The list is for Actresses who feature in Yoruba movies whether or not they are Yoruba. I also think Moyo Lawal should not be there cos i've not sighted her in a single Yoruba movie.

@topic
There's nothing secy about those people listed exept for a few. They just have massive mammary glands. I don't know if that's a criterion for making it into the Yoruba movie industry. Another problem is too much bleaching. I used to like beautiful sikiratu sindodo until she started bleaching. Now she looks like a funky masquerade.

CelebritiesRe: Is Rap Music’s Infatuation With White Girls Hurtful To Black Female Fans? by Afam4eva(m): 4:45am On Jul 27, 2014
glitest: I get the fact that there might have been little to no changes interms of featuring black's on the cover of high fashion magazines, nor the little to inprovement of black folks on the big screen, but when it comes to the fashion industry at large?.........there have been a significant amount of change for black folks.

Entertainment Industry:

Try comparing shows from the Y2k era. Take a look at shows like Law and Order, xfiles, passions, Sunset beach, General hospital etc ....where most of the cast were almost whites, or if not 100% whites; Now compare that to that of today's favoutire TV shows such as Scandals, orange is the new black etc...Aren't' there any difference from the past decade?.
Even the all whitest show currently on TV "Dawntown Abbey", now has a black character.....Why?. So as to influence black folks to watch... I wouldn't be surprised if another, if not a few more, gets added to the cast in future seasons, more blacks are now tunning in to watch the show.

Beauty Industry:

Few years back, the official product for black folks was Dark and Lovely; Now there is Pantene, clear, Wen etc with products made for ethnic hair. Same goes for High fashion brands like Loreal, Estee Lauder, Chanel Maybelline NY, Clinque etc, that now create makeup for most, if not every skin color.

Even luxury brand products like Audi, etc and high powered company's such as Pepsi, coke etc now feature all race on their commercials.....Why do you think that the half time super ball concert would rather feature Beyonce, rather than Celion Dion?.

Let's not forget the realty TV....It used to be the OC, then Hills, The Hogan show etc. Now it's mostly shows like RHOA, LATH Atlanta/NY, BBW, MTM; Although all ratchet shows, but are five of the most watched shows on TV.

The fashion industry no longer have a choice order than to embrace Black's...The fashion industry no longer care about fashion, they care about money, and would do anything to keep their company afloat...That is why big fashion houses are now collaborating with department stores like Targets and Marcy's, so as to bring in more money, because they realize that the middle class , which consist of white and blacks, are the one's shelling out the money.

CELEBRITIES:

Lupita is currently on the cover of vogue, because she is currently one of the it girls of Hollywood, and would be forgotten soon after the next it girl is on board. It's not because she's black, it because there are new Oscar winners every year...Same happened to Natalie Portman and Halloway; Both after winning their Oscars, where featured on lists of magazines, only to be featured by TMZ and the dailymail, by random camera men.

Why do you think that Ana Wintor wouldn't feature Victoria Beckham a fashion icon, but landed both Kanye and Kim instead?...Why, because the fashion magazine now care more about who is going to make their pockets rich; And lots of people like trash, so why not feature the queen and King of trash so as to sell magazine covers.?.

Whites no longer have any choice than to embrace black folks...Black's are getting degrees like they are, owning businesses and making millions like they are...They might hate it, but they have no choice...Black folks are contributing to their wallets.
Nicely put...I wonder why people, especially black people always bring the issue of race in everything. Blacks have come a long way and things are better than they were years and decades ago. Today, we see black people playing the lead in areas where white people dominated. Blacks may not be exactly where they are supposed to be but there's no denying the fact that there have been some improvements. People should also not forget that the African American population in the US is just about 13%, so white people will always be the majority in almost every endeavour. So, that should not be seen as racism.

FamilyRe: My Husband Insists I Remove My Maiden Name From My Name by Afam4eva(m): 4:36am On Jul 23, 2014
I saw this on Linda Ikeji and i'm like, what is wrong with some women sef? Why do they just like concocting unnecessary troubles for themselves especially in relationships and marriage and later they'll start crying fowl. So, her maiden name is now soo precious to her that she can afford to lose her marriage because of it. Why did she marry at all. She should have stayed in her father's house and keep bearing his name since it's soo important to her. That husband should divorce asap if she doesn't bulge. Nonsense woman.

The Nsukka dialect also seems pretty the same with the Nkanu dialect to me.

passion007: I just discovered this thread, and then watched Nwa Abakaliki on YouTube.
Angela Okorie was flawless; I was a bit surprised the Abakaliki dialect was intelligible to me from start to finish. In fact, the dialect bears an uncanny semblance to Nkanu dialect, and then appears to transition towards Nsukka dialect.
I would like to see more Igbo movies celebrating our rich linguistic heritage.
Sorry to ressurect this thread---I had to.

Collins Chidebe has another movie in the offing: Nkoli nwa Nsukka

http://momo.com.ng/news/watch-watch-mac-collins-chidebes-new-flick-nkoli-nwa-nsukka/
Different Igbo dialects were actually spoken in that movie. The dialect that Angela Okorie spoke was different from the one her uncle spoke. What her uncle spoke was pure Nkanu dialect.
