I knew he would start because of his energy and physicality but didn't expect him to be passing as well. I still expect Casemiro to come on around the 60 min mark. He will give us better control.

Meanwhile Bruno and Eriksen have been quite loose with their passing. Bruno with 58% which is unacceptable and Eriksen with 80% which is not really good for a CM.

With Antony and Sancho we will be able to keep the ball better in attack. Even if Antony gives 60 minutes based on fitness it would still be worth it in my opinion. Elanga and Rashy can come in around 60-65 min mark to use their pace against tiring legs.

Ronaldo instead of Rashy at CF because if we have to go long due to the Arsenal press we have a better chance of winning the ball with CR7.

McTominay has had 2 good games and seems to be the one in form. He also brings height, energy and physicality. I would start him but i think Fred could also do the job as long as Casemiro is the partner and not a McFred. Eriksen is the better footballer than both of them but he has looked tired in the last 2 games and this game will require our midfield to go through periods of hard running.

The defence picks itself.

Maybe you missed last season when Maguire threw the attack under the bus in a game the attack scored goals but the defence conceded cheap goals at the back with him being one of the culprits.

He shouldn't have passed that ball to Eriksen but then again Eriksen should have handled it better. Both of them are liable. You are however right that you should never throw your teammates under the bus. Something the useless club captain was not taught in nursey school.

James Garner is literally the only proper CDM among all the names you listed. Which they'll probably need in a Pivot for a team that'll fight for relegation. But that's another argument entirely.

Last season they played Yates and Garner, and Garner was the one with the better attacking stats while Yates had the better defending stats.
Also Whoscored says Garner played CM 31 times and DM 4 times while Yates played DM 9 times.

They replaced Garner with O'Brien in the line up and Magala also plays the position.

James Garner is a CDM. Which other CDMs did they bring?

Lewis O'Brien who is the new partner of Yates (Garner's midfield colleague) was bought July 20th and Orel Mangala another one who has played in that pivot was bought 31st.
Kouyate came on a free to cover CDM and CB on August 13th.

That is 3 players brought in to play in central defensive midfield BEFORE Garner became available however they must still buy Garner because ChristoBam wants to be sure they want him.
