People have to be patient so he can complete his pre-season and assess how the players perform in pre-season training and pre-season games. He is assessing the players in training to know who to sell and who to buy even though the list of players we are linked to has not changed in the past 2 months. |

GloriousGbola: i am not so sure it is the drainage that is not good, or people and LGAs are irresponsible
everyday i see fooking ediats in expensive cars throwing pet bottles onto the road
i live in festac which was buolt with proper drains which channel into a canal - but check during every heavy rain, and you will see arterial drains literally clogged with PET bottles, styrofoams packs and other debris
who is to blame? the people who throw rubbish indiscriminately, and teh local government who will always be running round looking for shakedown money, but cannot be bothered to clear the drains
the whole okota ago palace-way axis has drains that are full of silt and sludge and gunk during the dry season. any body can see what would happen once it rains. yet the bloody local govt will do nothing
yes there are parts of lagos with bad drainage. but there are also several parts of lagos with irresponsible citizens and LGA chairmen Very true. It is a team effort. |

PDPGuy: In the USA, floods only occur after hurricanes or tropical storms, which are 100x greater than regular heavy downpours. A mere heavy downpour won’t lead to flooded streets. At worst, a downpour would cause 3-inch ‘floods’ in the US.
Yes, a good number of drains in Lagos and Naija, in general, are being blocked by the factors I stated in my earlier post. That’s why Soludo had to demolish that church cos it was obstructing the flow of the drains This is factually incorrect. There are numerous cases of flooding in the USA and other developed Western countries due to heavy rainfall without hurricanes or tropical storms. Drainage in Lagos is not good and would definitely worsen the situation, but these things happen in some of the most developed countries on earth. |

Now back to the topic. I did not say drainages are okay. I agreed with you.
But I also made it clear to you that the downpour was heavy enough to cause a flood.
I was at Ikotun on Friday and the flood was up to my knee. Immediately the rains stopped, it didn't take up to 20 minutes and the water had disappeared. So did the government clear the drainages in 19 minutes?
Learn to see things objectively. That downpour was too heavy[/color] Immediately i read that i knew you would focus on it. |

Ibime: I think this is the opposite of what SAP is. Sap is letting the market decide the value of the currency and allowing free trade, and abolishing subsidiea Exactly. The 2 previous regimes tried to tackle the fiscal crisis brought about by diminishing oil revenue by limiting imports and capital expenditure as well as pegging the exchange rate. Those so called "austerity" measures did not work as people started struggling to have access to basic things. Babangida following IMF advice went in the opposite direction and decided to allow the market to decide the exchange rate leading to devaluation of the naira. He also created People's Banks which gave small scale industries access to affordable loans. Tai Solarin was made the Chairman to reinforce public trust in the program but the people working under him soon started swallowing the money too. All those measures were medicine after death however. Nigeria's fate was sealed in the 70s during the oil boom. That was where the original sin was committed. |

patrickmuf: I think Busi would start ahead of any DM you sign at Barca for obvious reasons...I accept that Rodri and Romeu are more physical however, FDJ can do a decent job there if need be...I am rooting for Lisandro to play more as a DM...W8th a solid midfield, our defense won't be very exposed thus the defensive frailties that looked so obvious will be masked...
Also, I am hoping that ETH has the balls to bench Maguire for Lindelof or any other CB in form... This is not about Busquets. The main thing is that there is very little of evidence of FDJ playing DM either for Ajax or for Barca. Lisandro Martinez as well rarely plays there. So what you want is for us to buy a CB and and CM to share DM responsibility. Why not just buy a DM who plays that position regularly and then buy the CB to play CB and CM to play his proper role. Not the one that midway through the season we will now be looking to buy a CDM because the players we bought can't play the position consistently well. |

patrickmuf: He might have to settle for a shared role with Eriksen assuming we get all our targets and if ETH elects to play Lisandro as a DM then it's a battle between Eriksen/VDB/Bruno...I don't know who wins but I know who will lose out and it's definitely Bruno unless he modifies his game... I like that there is competition in that position. Bruno was too petulant last season and his discipline fell off. I still don't see how VDB gets a starting shirt though he could be a valuable member of the team. With 5 subs per match there should enough opportunities for everyone. |

Itsrm: I would have been in full support of subsidy removal if I can trust trust those polithiefcians with the money saved from the removal but we all know its ending up in their pockets.
What will be the whole point? Subsidy has to continue. My point exactly. The money saved will be stolen. Corruption and insecurity have to be tackled first. Then you focus on developing infrastructure that will support job creation and local industries. THEN you can start SLOWLY reducing the subsidy over a number of years. It can't be a sudden change or else the country will burn. |

Oasis007: What's your take on subsidy removal?!
Cc
Raumdeuter BlueRayDick Jodera Larride Afrodoc2 Ibime Roland17 It will hasten that demise of Nigeria that the US State Dept predicted back in the day. You can't remove that fuel subsidy in a country where such a large proportion of the population is living at subsistence level with no savings. The price level increase would be exponential and it will be transferred from the initial fuel price hike to the increased cost of transporting goods and people, to a general inflation that might be difficult to control. The other problem is that most of the money the government will save by abolishing the subsidy would not be put to good use anyway but rather embezzled. Security, corruption, job creation, local industries, infrastructural development (roads, rail, power), taxation have to be tackled first before removing the subsidy that will change 100m hungry Nigerians to 100m starving Nigerians. |

Antony and sterling are not the same level raphina is prem proven and bigger are more physical.. go watch this same guy against the malacia we just signed, man was marked so hard he got frustrated and got a red card.. is type of wingers are getting outdated self.. inverted wingers are what we should be aiming at, who can add goals to the team.. we have other pressing issues like RB instead we bought a left back we don't even need.. Antony is an inverted winger. |
