Ibime: Bros it's not mortality rate matter, it's about availability of ICU beds for ventilation. 10% of patients in Italy needed ICU while 20% in China needed ventilation.
Without this ventilation, Mortality rate would be much higher, eg Iran was approaching almost 10%.
NHS is already at 80% ICU capacity. Imagine 10million people catch the virus, it would be a catastrophe.
Even in Italy, where they ventilated 60+ year olds, they said after 2 weeks, Under-45s started presenting for ventilation in large numbers after exhausting their physiological capacity to fight the virus themselves.
Then consider that at certain ages and with certain health conditions like COPD, HBP, Cardiac problems, it is almost certainly fatal without ventilation. This is not a lottery virus..if you fall in those categories, your own done be without serious intervention, therefore those sectors of the population will drive Government response.
We cannot ventilate everyone, so as numbers expand, this will get worse. I just signed off on buying 4 Hazmat type suits for one of our Hospitals at £1k each. That's £4k. The filters are £100 each and can only be used once per shift. To treat one patient for two weeks for 4 people (2 nurses, House Officer and Consultant), we had to buy 112 filters. So that is £11k of filters for one patient plus £4k of suits. Now imagine 1 million people have this thing, there would be serious problem.
I think it's the other way, and Governments are doing well to control the panic sef. This has the potential to bring serious societal change eg. prisons will be abandoned (already happened in Iran with all low level prisoners released, and in Italy where there have been constant prison riots resulting in drafting of the army to control). Who wants to work in a prison at this point, to sacrifice their health for prisoners?
As things go along, you will be seeing Government and Health professionals making decisions on who and who cannot receive treatment. Just as Govt will not dedicate resources to prisoners, you will start to see decisions being made on certain groups of people eg by age, immigration status etc. That's without going into economic impact, supply chain disruptions, mortgages and loans on hold or defaulting, impact on company earnings and subsequently on pensions etc. We just have to hope for a cure or vaccine at this stage.
Who I pity na USA where there is no Govt control over their Health Sector where Hospitals are owned by Shareholders. They will not be able to give a coordinated response eg they have tested 10 times less patients than Britain and have double the cases. All testing is done by private Hospitals and requires payment. By the end of this Covid-19, we may see popular call for social Healthcare in USA etc. In Italy already they have already started choosing who to treat and who to allow to die in certain ICU departments. The potential burden burden on the health care system is huge. Imagine doctors getting infected? The doctor that got infected here when he was in the U.S had already seen 70 patients before they found out he had the virus. |

Leyqute: De Gea cost us UCL this season with his schoolboy errors and he’s continued this season.
He didn’t make the mistake with his leg yesterday, he made it in his head. He’s on par with Pickford on most mistakes leading to goals by GKs. Man Utd’s GK shouldn’t be in that league. Facts only. De Gea's mistakes are almost always due to lapses in concentration. It's like he starts daydreaming while on the pitch. Availability and consistency are the 2 most important qualities of a goalie. |

eph12: Greenwood is not in this match at all. He is drifting too and wide and AWB is playing too narrow. AWB should be holding the touchline on the right flank with Greenwood playing the channels between the LCB and LB. Instead Greenwood is going out wide while AWB is tucking in too much. |

Leyqute: Vidic was 25 when he joined United and didn’t start shining until he was 27. Did you think he was “made for the EPL” during that underwhelming maiden season?
If you think Lindelof can’t be strong in the air and haven’t noticed any improvement from him on that side since he arrived, you haven’t been paying enough attention.
It’s easy to write players off when the team isn’t performing well.
I’m not saying he’s the finished article. He has displayed moments of quality. If he works on his weaknesses he can be a top defender. Lies from the pits of hell. If you want to debate please stick to the facts, rather than fabricate stuff to suit your narrative. Vidic turned 27 in October 2008 AFTER we won the champions league. Are you saying as at the time we won the champions league Vidic was still struggling? And i never said he hasn't improved. Just that he is never going to be as good as Rio or Vidic. That was the origin of this whole excursion. |

Leyqute: Another okoto meow.
As a sensible player you move forward, drive in and put yourself in front of the defender in that situation . Alphonso would have to commit a foul to stop you - possible red card for him and/or a free kick/penalty for your team.
What did your genius do? He decelerated. Next? Horrible first touch and eventually got outmuscled off the ball.
If you’re an attacker that should be your first instinct. Willian would’ve gotten in front of the defender if he found himself in the same situation 100% of the time .
But oh! Mason Mount can press, he’s a pressing machine
Ibime you Dey fall your hand. And you’ve got 2- something Eruditor doesn’t have.

I didn't say it was a sure thing for AJ to beat Wilder but I no dey fear Wilder for AJ. After the Ortiz fight the fear factor was completely lost for me. Fair enough. Wilder and AJ are no more the top dogs. |

A40: Neither did Oliver McCall but we saw what he did to Lennox. I have seen bigger upsets so I no dey call fight like that
AJ has enough power to sleep Wilder whether by one punch or combos. Combos actually do the more lasting damage. I said it here after the Ortiz fight that this Wilder bobo don cast. A much inferior boxer kpo kpo Joshua's head also, so let us not do go overboard with the reaction. My point is that it is hard to predict who would win, you are the one showing ultra-confidence in Joshua when there is no real evidence to back it up. I hope AJ beats him, but i can still recall AJ smiling sheepishly like i first time olosho after Ruiz rung his bell. |
