GloriousGbola: The home of great talent Only the best is good enough for thee
If you know you know.
As an aside. The white boy is also a doc. Was in UK, now in canada. His sister (the large one) is in Australia. In fact both his sisters are in Australia. The other guy - the short garrulous charmer of women is also in Canada selling weed (he used to be in British American tobacco)
Uche. I met some dude from ife during my IT in 99 and was casually asking about him. I did not understand why the guy froze and hardened up. Maybe a month later I read about the murders in the newspaper. Uche wild small but I never thought he would go that far
We had all planned on going to ife. Maybe that is how we would all have been blended.
I respect my senior. From today na Senior Gbola.
To confirm your yarns:
White boy: Blue house His large sister: Blue house The charmer: I am thinking Green house
I wanted to ask how Dan Gore performed. That guy has been a quiet performer right from the Under-18s. His small size might be a hurdle at the senior level.
Oasis007: Iqbal is extremely talented. His movement and long range passes yesterday remind me of Pogba, even his Assist to Emeran too.
He played as 6 and did exceptionally well in the role. I don't know why he is yet to start for senior team. EtH should give him and Pellestri opportunity to show their values and potentials probably in our home game against Nottingham Forest in the second leg of Carabao Cup.
Dan Gore gave the assist to Emeran. It was Iqbal through the lines to Gore who controlled and turned ran towards the box and slid the ball through to Emeran.
I agree that Iqbal is a good passer but i think he is probably still a bit physically challenged which is why ETH has not used him. I hope he gets a chance though cos he is stylistically the kind of CM that ETH likes. Mejbri and Mainoo are also fighting for the same spot though Mainoo has played a more advanced position in his brief cameos.
My secondary school OG was one of the capos of the group that carried out the hit on Afrika and the others. I think both he and his younger brother were rusticated after the whole saga.
He was actually in Lag some months before the incident for a “meeting” and introduced me to some guys. He told me to meet those guys for assistance if I ever had any problem on campus with either students or lecturers.
Thank God I gave myself brain. Also, I don’t think those guys rated me cos I was in Medicine and was going to move to a different campus in a few months anyway.
Roland17: Anyone remember the debates about the Paul Pelosi attack on this thread? Well, see the video footages of David DePape breaking into Pelosi's home and the police body cam of Paul getting clobbered. I can assure you that if David DePape was black, he would have been shot immediately the cops opened the door and found him with a hammer
I would usually not post the 2nd video but it was sad to see people politicize a vicious attack like this, especially conspiracy theorists. Any wonder why FOX and the extreme Right have piped down on their narratives about the incident?
cc Ibime, afrodoc, raumdeuter, anyone interested, including conspiracy theorists!
raumdeuter: In Ife in my days inside cultists are powerless. They have to bring external people come
Dr Pedro finally went to South Africa and he came back to confess that in Ife I thought you guys were the devil. When I got to Southie I saw real devils
OasisX: Reference to new Electoral Law, it will end at Court of Appeal.
Oyetola will still win though, coz lot factors are against Adeleke. Aside from over voting, his Certificate was issued in 1981 and carried Osun State, whereas Osun State was created in 1991. Another discrepancy is his Degree which he obtained in 6 Months.
Time travelling certificate. It is a shame that Osun State allowed that layabout to become governor.
DeadPresidents: The best route is getting mentored by Senior Product Designers. The main problem though is, the best ones are rarely interested in mentoring anyone. UI/UX design is a really rigorous field (as opposed to what many people think) because there are so many principles to learn.
You have to understand how to find the perfect balance between aesthetics, psychological reinforcement, and business decisions.
Shameless plug: I just got my visa on Monday. I'm selling my house stuff in case anyone you know is interested. I'll be meeting a top product designer in Berlin so I'll ask him if he's willing to mentor budding designers.
Congrats. Remember us when your kingdom come. Are you voting to ensure the country is on the right path before you japa? 😢
BlueRayDick: “Forgive and forget “ no be Fulani man motto. 🙅♂️
More like loyalty to others is not his motto. This has always been Buhari's way. Loyalty is unidirectional in his mind. He is known for tackling people who helped him. This was one of the factors that led IBB and his boys to bundle him out in 1985 after 20 months.
patrickmuf: We watch our players every game so it's easy to look outside and claim every other player out there is better...I am sure if we take a closer look at Guimaraes game we'd see obvious deficiencies...Funny enough, Fred is benching same Bruno in Brazil and even when I watched him against Cameroon, he didn't stand out. Brouno is an okay midfielder, one that is not particularly excellent in anything but someone here said Bruno does everything that Eriksen does...
He has been good in the EPL. Judging him from a single match in a different competition can be misleading. Even KDB was relatively quiet at the World Cup. Fred is the senior and more experienced player in the national team. That a national team manager prefers a certain player does not mean he is better.
He is a good passer and defensively solid as well which is what we need. Eriksen's physical frailties (inability to press, inability to put in challenges, inability to hold off challenges, weak tackling, poor recovery pace once beaten, poor defensive positioning, inability to contest aerially) contribute to our struggles to control games against the very best teams.
A CM (No8) should not be so weak defensively. We desperately need someone to replace Eriksen in that line-up.
patrickmuf: It's not about Bruno not being better suited but Ten Hag...He prefers the CM to be more of a ball player. You look at our set up and you wonder why we are not after midfielders that are sure to give you a rating of 7 in passing, defending and tackling...
Personally I will prefer Bruno alongside Eriksen but Ten Hag won't play Bruno ahead of Eriksen...
How can you be so confident like you have private discussions with ETH. Lol
It’s possible you have not really followed Bruno Guimaraes career. He is a very good ball player. If he was in our squad he would be the preferred option cos ETH’s number 1 aim is to play well and win games, and Guimaraes gives him a better chance of both compared to Eriksen.
patrickmuf: Bruno will bench Eriksen in this our setup? Think again...
As for Isak, what have you seen of his game that makes you think he'd do better than Martial? His goal return is poor for a CF and he has barely been fit...Is it a case of any other player than ours?
If you watch and see how much of a defensive liability Eriksen is you would agree.
Eriksen is a former CAM (never known for work rate or defensive solidity) who after heart surgery has been moved back to play the more physically demanding job of a CM.
On the ball he is good but off the ball he is physically weak, positionally unsure, aerially weak, and lacks stamina to put in a shift beyond the 60th minute.
If we continue playing him next to Casemiro into next season we won’t get more than 2 seasons out of Casemiro. Eriksen should be a stopgap until we get a peak level CM.
patrickmuf: Who are the quality players they have bought?
Trippier, Isak, Botman and Bruno Guimares are not exactly world beaters...Bar Trippier, none of them will start for United though Isak has an outside chance...
I think they have raised their level thanks to their mentality that they're are now a top team.
Bruno Guimaraes will bench Eriksen no question. Casemiro n Guimaraes double pivot would be dominant on and off the ball.
We have no quality CF so Isak starts as well.
Trippier still ahead of Dalot at the moment.
The most important advantage they have over us though is time. Their manager has had more time with them to instil his football principles.
TrebleChamp: If i was Ten Hag, i would have removed Eriksen for Malacia, moved Shaw to CB and moved Licha to DM. Removed MTom for Fred, removed Werghost for Garnacho, removed Antony for Pelestri and moved Rashford to CF. The loss is definitely on ETH yesterday, but we missed Casemiro plenty....
E clear say you be baba for permutation and combination.
We lost to a better team. The understanding in that Arsenal team is next level. Their spacing. The fact that every single player including the GK is technically proficient with the ball. Every single player is defensively responsible.
Apart from being inferior in terms of spacing, understanding, and technical players, our team has a short one in possession in McTom and a short one out of possession in Eriksen.
Then we have one dead wing (AWB and Poco).
What happened was what the streets call “Gba fun oga e”. In the words of ETH, “thanks for the lesson”. Rome was not built in a day. There is still much work to be done.
armadeo: Any nigerian graduate must practice in the country for at least 10 years before being allowed to seek employment elsewhere. Not only doctors.
These types of comments just shows how myopic we are in thinking. So you decide to tie the doctors down and other graduates who also had " "subsidised" education are free to go.
Well done sir.
Cc afrodoc. Just saw your comment. I shock pass you
Nigerians deserve their leaders. Thank God for the internet/social media that has given everybody a voice and enables us to see how other Nigerians reason.
Khaytunechi: Ẹgbọn, this manipulating while on the run, is it something that can be learnt ? Because ọmọ that his stop and start style won't cut it in the EPL where defenders quickly regroup and hardly leave spaces behind for big teams to run into.
This his trickery no be am at all, it's frustrating to watch him pass backwards when he could've taken on a defender and create something.
I wish Sancho had the dawg in heart like Antony. At least we know he's skillful but it's like é get weytin dé hold am back from really performing at the level his skills suggest.
It can be learnt but usually as a teenager. What we can realistically hope for is for our system to get better so that we can get the ball to Antony in good positions closer to the opposition box and with the RB overlapping readily and the AM giving him an inside option.
He can still thrive when ETH fully implements his system.
