Nihilstjnr:That best team he was adding to was built from young talent, he didn't have to win tranfer market to develop that same best team he was adding to. He did it at Aberdeen, carrying young players to topple the Rangers/Celtic hegemony and finally rod Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the Cup Winners Cup. Put some respek on his name, and swallow your 10yrs of Ls in peace. ![]() |
Nihilstjnr:His logic is not sound. He has tied himself in a tortuous knot of his own pseudopods, the flagrant amoeba. Now let us bury this Fergie misconception once and for all. Fergie won the EPL 7 times in 9 seasons from 1992 to 2001 AND NEVER ONCE TOPPED the Total spending chart. The first time Fergie topped the total spending charts in the EPL was in 2001 after he had already won 7 league titles, 3 FA Cups and 1 champions league title. For those who don't have A1 in Further Mathematics. Throughout the 90s when Fergie was truly dominating the EPL with 7 EPL titles, 3 FA cups, and also won 1 champions league title he never was the top spender in the EPL in any season |
joeace2020:Erudite nonsense. We showed with net spend that Pep was no 1 while Ferguson was no 6 and no 3, he changed shape to total spend. We showed with total spend that Pep was still a bigger spender than Ferguson compared to contemporaries, he changed shape with pre-EPL spending. Now we have shown with pre-EPL that Pep was even a much bigger spender, i expect another shape change. Gentlemen we are combating an amoeba here. While Dayo merely turns amala, this one extends and retracts pseudopods. |
Eruditor:Hehehe this guy went to rifle through my records. Well i have to say i was impressed with my scores also, thanks for mentioning it. LOL A1 should be top score for an erudite person, so Ferguson signed Bryan Robson? Abi wetin concern Robson with this matter? You want to add Robson that was bought 5yrs before Fergie became Utd manager? Are you well sir? Okay Mr A1, in Ferguson's 1st ever season in English league (86/87) his net spend was -3m pounds which was DEAD LAST in the league. ![]() Oya change to another shape you irredeemable shape shifter. hehehe |
Eruditor:Lol Mr A1 you don enter sunken place. Oya hear this one..... In Fergie's 1st EPL season (92/93) his TOTAL spend was 3.53 m pounds which was (wait for it) SIXTH, behind Blackburn Rovers, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa. In Pep's 1st EPL season his TOTAL spend was 213m pounds which was 1ST in the league. In Fergie's 2nd EPL season his TOTAL spend 8.5m pounds which was 2ND in the league behind Blackburn Rovers. In Pep's 2nd EPL his total spend was again 315m pounds which was AGAIN 1ST in the league. Again for those who do not have A1 in Further Maths, Fergie was 6th and 2nd in total spend in his first 2 seasons in the EPL while Pep was 1ST in each of his first 2 seasons in total spend (and led by a mile). |
Since we can't derive an almighty formula to adjust money value over different eras and we can't agree on CIES findings, the next best thing is to compare the advantages this financial might and purchasing power gave each person compared to his contemporaries. |
In Ferguson's 1st EPL season (92/93) his net spend was 1.4m pounds which was 6TH in the league, behind Blackburn Rovers, Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa, Oldham Athletic, Leeds United. In Pep's 1st EPL season his net spend was abut 180m pounds which was 1ST in the league. In Ferguson's 2nd EPL season his net spend was 7.53m pounds which was 3RD behind Blackburn Rovers and Man City. In Pep's 2nd EPL season his net spend was 223m pounds which was again 1ST in the league. So to clarify for those without A1 in Further Maths, Pep has led the league in net spend in his first 2 seasons in the EPL while Fergie was 6th and 3rd in his first 2 seasons. |
Erudite and protean shape-shifting. ![]() See as my people turn this guy to contortionist, even Dayo would be jealous. Isn't our God a wonderful God? ![]() |
Cruxifizio:Lol you made me remember Binghi's graduation pic, dat him brogues wey e wear na colonial classic. ![]() You have a point sha, but like i said e dey una body too........maybe just less pronounced. Anyhow you guys should thank us for helping you beat City that bullied you. |
Cruxifizio:E dey una body too, only that it has gotten a bit more pronounced on our thread lately. Coogar own different, the guy surely get personality disorder on top him criminal tendencies. |
nitrogen:They are internet chairmen. Even those living in face me i face and whose closest contact with Old Trafford is touching their TV screens have the unmitigated gall to be calling others fake fans and small boys. |
Lana1: You be wicked sombori, see as you woze Nihilist ogo? That is someone's father o. |
We came in from the back!!! See as we PEPper dem for 2nd half, Jose must have delivered a really great PEP talk in the dressing room. |
Raumdeuter is on point here, Bernd Schuster was sacked and saying anything different is revisionist history. Many times when managers are sacked the official line is that it was "by mutual consent" or "amicably". |
hensbrain. Oh my, such a dunderhead. |
Pep's problem in those champions league exits has always stemmed from his attempts to be conservative. Yesterday he played 5 defenders (3CBs and the WBs), brought Gundogan into midfield and dropped Sterling. He then compounded that by still trying to play out from the back, as if all the gengenwhozing Klopp has given him all these years is not enough. Players would even have been confused with the mixed messages, you set up defensively and yet ask them to play out from the back tiki-taka style. And Klopp has his number, the overall record between them is even with Klopp having the inferior team practically every time they have met. |

Nihilstjnr:Many of them have been brainwashed and the right wing spin machine is very sleek. Imagine teachers, janitors, parents all entering schools with concealed weapons. Very soon people that have been misplacing cell phones, car keys e.t.c will start misplacing guns. Also who defends students when a teacher like old Mr Martins turns psychotic? I used to watch Fox for comic relief and to better understand how the mind of the American right wing citizen works. Only America has rural areas, only America has a government that can turn dictatorial so the people have to arm themselves. Logic and the statistics do not support the pro-gun stance, however ignorance and dogmatism is solidly behind it. Laws that were made before the days of Geronimo and Billy the Kid are being defended in the 21st century. |
A40:Even if he becomes Peter Pan and remains this age for the next 100 years he will never win the Balon D'or. There never will be a time when someone with his skill set, mentality and limitations will win that award. |
raumdeuter:You are right. He is very humble that is why he has no interest in being the best player on earth. He is more interested in being a headless runner. Hazard has no interest in scoring because scoring goals make him feel depressed, so i understand why he prefers to drimble all over the pitch like Haruna Ilerika and does not release the ball on time to his team mates. |
Even when they criticize Pius they still make excuses for him. Interest ko, Principal ni. If Odonkor had interest in passing and scoring goals he woluld have been as good as Messi, if Harrison Omokoh had interest he would have been as good as Nesta. Making runs behind the defence is not only by interest, if not everybody would be doing it. Frank Lampard, Dele Alli have the talent to know when to make the run and they see the space before others, that is why they score those goals. Passing the ball with speed, accuracy and the correct timing is not just by interest, it requires a level of skill and football intelligence. That was Xavi's talent, Hazard's talent is drimbling, same as Stanley Okoro, Phillip Osondu, Lomana Lua Lua and his namesake Pius Ikedia. |

Leyqute:It is not about attitude or quality or mentality. It is about being fair and logical in apportioning blame. You can't ignore the facts and blame Darmian for every goal United concede when he is on the pitch just because he is a poor defender, same way you can't ignore the facts and blame Rudiger for a goal that had nothing to do with him. There were 2 defenders on Alli, a straight ball came over the top and he ran in BETWEEN the RCB and MCB and you are blaming the LCB? Those are the facts, not his attitude or his antecedents or his quality (or lack thereof). |
