I didn't watch yesterday's match, but the problem with Depay at the moment is his untidy dribbling. Even when he gets past his marker, he keeps wrestling with the ball. I know with time he will improve his passing and decision making.

Martial is very neat in his dribbling. Nani was not so neat, but his dribbling were the sharpest that could be gotten in soccer. He could twist a defender's waist at the shortest notice, and then open up a big space.

I agree one of Depay's problems is his untidy touch. That has to do mainly with his lack of confidence and his touch will get better if he gains a little form
A second and maybe even more crucial reason is his predictability, he is almost always trying to cut inside. Top level defenders catch these things and make it hard for such a player, he can ask Valencia.
He has to reduce his shoot first mentality and consistently go down the left and cross in the ball. If he does this even 30-40 percent of the time it would make it more difficult for defenders to read his moves cos that is what is happening.....they are blocking him off even before he starts to cut inside cos they know that is what he will do.
Martial has so much success on that same left cos he gives the defenders a real dilemma on wether he will cut in or go down the left.

I won't talk too much about Depays football IQ for now, all I can say is that I have noticed some worrying signs and I am sure anybody who played organised football would understand what I am saying

When I said the guy was just there people were arguing.
He is the confirmed night market buy. Depay is playing rubbish this season but we bought his skill and POTENTIAL, he might be a dud or world class(time will tell).
Herrera on the other hand has no special talent or reliable role and IMO he has fulfilled all his potential.

No effect on Smalling who is having probably his best season ever
No effect on Martial the young boy from another league who hit the ground running and has not looked back

Blind is not a world class defender that is no argument. When one v one he is a serious liability. He is too short and weak to combat the PAWA strikers like benteke Lukaku etc and is too slow to mark pacy players like vardy, Walcott, mane. Kilanfani orogbo?

Herrera is just average, nothing special. He was like this at Bilbao and nothing has changed since he got here.

You can blame van gaal for buying Depay but u can't blame him for depay's loss of form. Depay is playing his own self induced brand of Shyte.

In this circumstance Loius van Gaal hasn't got much options but to call on rookies from the academy.
With compliment of 80% of the squad, Manchester United climbed to top spot at some point.

For close to 3 years the overriding impression is mediocrity, the times we went on runs were the aberration.
U can't explain away season after season of rubbish with the excuse of injuries.
We have had 2 managers with widely differing philosophies but the players still produce crap.

Fellaini,Rojo,Blind,Herrera,Lingard, these are all squad member materials.
In particular our midfield is WEAK. There is nobody with pace and PAWA in that midfield (apologies Dadehmola lol) that is why the likes Onuachu and Sisto and so many before them this season waltz through the pitch into our defence.

Blind looks very good on the ball but he is the greatest liability I have seen in our central defence since Silvestre.
Herrera deceives people here by forming activity but he has ZERO positional awareness in central midfield and has no outstanding talent.
Carrick and Schweini are pensioners,Fellaini is barely a footballer.
Lingered who is starting almost every match is a squad player at best

LVG is not the problem but it is now clear he is not the solution either. Actually it is time to be really afraid if you are a United fan......we are slowly going the way of Liverpool. This next appointment is so important but actually more important is our scouting and transfers.

Very true. I noticed this after a few matches. And I am not even talking about through pass or defence splitting pass, the regular short angled pass that is bread and butter for someone that plays his position is a bit hard for him at times.

Carrick and Schneiderlin are killing us in this midfield.
I understand that Carrick is a senile to old man but I am seriously disappointed in Schneiderlin, he has not delivered well on what we anticipated

Memphis should learn to play on the right wing cos that left wing is Martial's for the foreseeable future.
Memphis has more talent and potential than Lingaard but Lingaard is by far more productive

Carrick has to be more careful in his passing , he has made some careless passes to the opponents today.
Then we need to play at a faster pace and use the full backs overlapping.

Only one word of advice, do not rush back from this injury. If properly managed it is no longer career ending especially for a young player.

Ozil and KdB are great creators but need a solid base in midfield behind them for them to be at their best. Luke can solve multiple problems in midfield that is why I rate him so highly
