A lot of you Hazard this and thats are here for this but i am not. its obvious dude has lost form and short of confidence. The same people who criticize will be the ones to praise when he's back at the level of last season.

The results will come. Hazard will come good and everyone will forget this happened. It is football . . .and life!
There are great dribblers who move at pace and leave their markers for dead. Men like Maradona, Ronaldinho, Bruno Conti, Messi e.t.c

Then there are drimblers who drimble around without getting away from their markers e.g Okocha, Wiltord, Vikash Dhorasoo.
Hazard is a drimbler

Based on talent level Hazard is the worst performer in this Chelsea team. Costa is suspect but he has never been a Messi or Aguero. Give him very good chances and he will score a few goals.
I see more dynamic play from Willian and even Pedro than Hazard. He just spends seconds holding on to the ball and cutting back and forth without actually going PAST his marker and the few times he does he holds on to the ball before passing the ball a few seconds too late.

'You have to ask what happened with Cesc, Matic, Costa LAST season, not what has happened with them this season. This is their level'
The greatest disappointment has actually been Fabregas. He is the one with the long term history of quality play and class. He is only 28 but playing like a 38yr old.....No pace, no fight, no graft, no stamina. At the same time playing like an 18yr old....no tactical discipline, no positional awareness, no leadership.

Matic last season might have been a flash in the pan, remains to be seen. Diego Costa was always suspect.

And all beef aside Hazard has actually regressed. He dribbles around without actually beating people and entering the box, his shooting is still inconsistent, he tends to waltz his way into blind alleys, his passing under pressure is mediocre AND very crucially he often kills the flow of attacking moves by holding on to the ball for too long and then doing nothing with the ball.

All Shekpe fans please repeat after me, we need to go spiritual.

It is what we tell Ogbon that Ogbon accepts, it is what we tell Ogba that Ogba takes.......

It did not spoil during the time of Olugbon, it did not spoil during the life of Aresa
May it not spoil during the time of Mourinho

I have said it before, if Mata can't play 10 for us he should be sold. He scores a few goals but as a RWF he is useless.
I can't count the number of times he has been isolated against a single marker and he has done nothing with the ball.

I hope he is pulled off at half time and Depay brought on so we can play Lingaard on the RW.

that exactly is my question... in wat way is young a defender.... no RB in the youth setup dat can deputize 4 d senior players when injured?
Paddy Mcnair who has played there on occasion is also injured.
We have about 5 to 6 players that can and have played RB

Smalling is at CB
Jones is still a bit short of fitness i think
Darmian is suspended
Valencia is injured
McNair injured
so it is Young's turn

I was listening to those clowns Lineker and Jenas looking for excuses for Rooney on MOTD.

They said it's not his fault . . . that he hasn't missed any chances . . . and blamed his teammates for not creating chances. I laugh say how come chances are automatically created when Martial is playing no9.

Reminds me of those who said Torres wasn't missing chances, rather his teammates were not creating for him.

Don't you think Lampard, with his advanced position on the pitch should have more assists from open play than Scholes? (minus the freekickcks)

You're only buttressing coogar's point.
You totally misunderstood my point. I am not Nihilist, i was in support of Coogar in terms of Scholes vs Lampard. Where i have always disagreed with Coogar is using stats as the sole arbiter.....i prefer to use the simple eye test first, then use stats if things remain close.

I am not sure how this would work. And I wont interfere with that exercise

but Lampard played a different role from what Schole did. Lampard played further up the field than Scholes Did. Lampard in many seasons played as an AM. Lampard did little with play making in his hey days

Lampard played off the striker in a 4-3-3 and most knockdowns were to Lampard. he was almost around the opposition box. Similar to where Oscar plays nowadays

Scholes played as a midfielder in a 4-4-2 where he has little responsibility upfield and did more playmaking
Yeah that is what i was talking about in terms of style of play. Scholes was more of a deep lying conductor while Lampard played closer to the box

There are some things that need stats and some that do not. Its a simple trained eye test would know

There is something called experience in football based on watching for many years and having the eye for the game

E.g completed passes of Mikel and Cleverly that are done in safe areas of the field vs those for Iniesta and Fabregas done in risky areas of the field would be different and would have to be viewed in the context

A striker thats a poacher is different than one who is responsible for hold up play
Yes definitely. However Nihilist has cleared it up. He wants Coogar to prove WITH STATS that Scholes was better.

coogar:
that's actually the misconception.

in terms of how long it took each player to score open play goals & copping an assist, scholesy towered over lampard!

lampard

173 league assists
115 open play assists
58 set play assists.

scholes

138 league assists
120 open play assists
18 set play assists.

just look at the ratio of lampard's set play assists. 33% of his total assists are from set plays. whereas, scholesy's set play assists are ultra low compared to his overall assists.

even if you discount the number of minutes played by each midfielders, it's easy to see lampard relied much more on dead ball situations than scholes - and that makes him less creative than scholes. if the opponents aren't standing still, lampard is almost clueless.
I am actually not interested in stats in this case. My view about stats is that they become useful when dealing with an unclear question. It is clear that Scholes was better than Lampard so i won't delve too deep into stats.
Lampard scored more goals and had more assists than Zidane.....yet he himself knows that Zidane is his boss.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 2:58pm On Oct 12, 2015
Paul Scholes was better than Frank Lampard. The stats are equivocal but the eye test makes the decision easy.

Even in La Liga Susaeta and Chori Castro have about same assist figure as Iniesta, does not make them his equal.

In Bundesliga you have people like Farfan and Gonzalo Castro competing with Robben in terms of assists.

Apart from goals scored for strikers which is fairly simple using just the stats for other positions is going to lead to inaccurate and skewed results.

The style of play of both players and of their teams means Lampard is likely to edge it in terms of goals and assists. Scholes was a better footballer.

Matic brought on in 46 min removed by 74th
Does not confirm anything. Actually the fact that keeping Ivanovic while benching almost every other person has not worked means the manager is making wrong decisions. Your point would have been valid if keeping Ivanovic and benching the others had led to better results

It appears you guys missed out on some many news items.

Gaal made it clear Wilson and Lingaard were not needed for the match, he also gave them time to rest after their mid week match.

Even from the wilderness I read some news.
.......

.... Wilson and Lingard, Van Gaal said: "Today they have had a recovery day and also tomorrow is more recovery but I don't need them so they can have a day off and then Thursday they will be fresh and can train."- Gaal
It is illustrative of my point that LVG used Wilson and Lingaard for the reserve match but used Perreira for the senior match.
Perreira has more skill and potential definitely but Lingaard is more mature and senior team ready.
The truth is that foreigners like Perreira,Adnan and Pogba have less loyalty to United and so have to be spoon-fed wella if not they will be stolen by Real, Barca, PSG e.t.c.
Wilson and Lingaard will do a Welbeck and wait for their time..........the foreigners won't.

yea... I'm not even sure they made the bench
I didn't start the game and didn't know who and who were on the bench... When we went 2 nil up I was hoping to see at least one of them, only to see him bring on Depay and martial
Lingaard is suffering because of his lack of gloss and flair. He is a very stable and effective player who will give us decent crossing and finishing from the right hand side and possibly more balance than mata.
Perreira's skill and potential level like Adnan's is so high that we risk losing them Pogba style to foreign giants if we dont play them.
Wilson and Lingaard being British can be safely nurtured in a more patient manner
